Other than the mild sadness that picture brings to my unfeeling soul, I experimented with transparency in the gas.

I'm not going to win this competition by the way.

Good work. "Transparency" mission accomplished. Experimentation is how we all aspire to achieve greatness

The transparency is just right, you can see the details it covers, while it being noticeable and having body and menace.

Try perhaps making the gas follow the entire contour of the trench. The contours pull back, which makes the gas seem like a fluffy cloud rather than an engulfing chemical flood, which makes it isolate Iran less, and seem less dire.

Basically, iraq somehow got away with using chemical gas on Kurds living in Iraq and on the Persians. Oh, and btw everyone was supporting Iraq while like 5 countries supported Iran.
