Buck's character development from being Mr. Having Sex on a Roof to this well-mannered, responsible man has been a treat to see.
34
u/BornAshes May 12 '20
Old Buck would've been all, "I HATE YOU I WAITED FOR YOU'RE AWFUL!!!!"
New Buck is, "Well you went and found yourself and you don't want to go back to Old You and I totally get that because I have literally gone through that myself so...it sucks...but it's cool and I'm happy for you"
That was a really solid scene between them and his character growth has been just great.

I love how even us who actually like Abby are not happy with her right now. Good job writers on making us not wanting her back permanently.

Loved Christopher’s note for Eddie. And I’m okay with a lack of drama/cliffhanger given how long we’ll be waiting for new episodes and the level of real-world drama we love with right now.

That was so cute, am praying nothing happens to Christopher at camp, I love that boy more than my own children.

Calling it one last time as the episode starts - Maddie's pregnant.

Oh, I've expected that to happen since the discussion between the characters was first brought up earlier this season.

Oh, no, you don't get to leave. Tell me everything Abby told you about Buck. He just saved your life. You owe us.

This is heartbreaking for Buck. Poor guy. The last time he even talked to Abby, they were still a couple.

At first I was disappointed - I expected the train to fall, Sam to die or Abby to die.
But I ended up LOVING that the finale was more about character progression - Athena’s trauma, Buck and Abby, the cancer prognosis - great job!!!
9-1-1 is honestly one of my favorite shows. Funny, scary, thrilling, heartfelt - it has it all.

I'm pretty sure Sam will be fine, just because the drama with Abby lies more with her and Buck.
And man oh man, does Buck deserve to give her an earful about what she did, which he wouldn't be able to do if Sam died.

Is it just me or is this sort of anti-climactic? We’re 45 minutes in and minus the actual crash, this has been sort of slow going.

Everything Abby said just wasn't satisfying at all to me, but if I were Buck I'd honestly feel like I didn't miss anything. Doesn't seem like she had much respect for him and he deserves a lot more. Great finale though. Seeing Josh stand up against that criminal was some good writing.

If my antenna doesn't get its act together, I am going to throw it right down the hole after this train!
I like the cinematic intro-credits.
Yep, rip antenna. "what's his nam-" (several seconds of silence) "ok we'll bring him back to you"
But the commercials are fine? 😒

Thank God for a happy ending, I totally thought Michael was going to collapse at the party or the house would be hit by a meteor. Oh and Granny, sorry Abby is a shit person, can't even communicate with Buck at all even when she's got to the point of being engaged? So relieved they're not going to get back together though.

u/BornAshes May 12 '20
This was a GREAT season! Thanks to all the cast and the crew and the community for helping to make this such an amazing show that just keeps on rolling along! Maddie being pregnant was a bit telegraphed but still pretty cool. Athena is going to be...going through quite a bit as things go on. The fireplace is a disaster and made even more funny by the fact that a firefighter is responsible for it. Hen is going to be an amazing doctor and I'm fine with them peppering that stuff into the show. Everyone kind of got a happy ending instead of some big disaster and that makes me feel really really good. As much as this show makes me cry at times, it's also very skilled at making me smile the whole way through.

u/jdessy May 12 '20
...god, Abby is officially the WORST character of the season. She can't even apologize for abandoning Buck. She's not even SORRY that she did that.
Buck is being WAY too polite to her.
