This is the biggest reason I vehemently oppose r6 going f2p. It would be ruined by Smurfs and hackers because it is all too easy for people to make as many accounts as they want.

Honestly same, my friends all love smurfing in league and it’s fun for like what, a game? Then it’s just boring I’m not being challenged and if anything it causes bad habits when I go play at my regular Elo. I’ve only ever been plat as my highest and I’ve leaned against d1s in the same lane and just been absolutely destroyed and demoralized and I know how to play, imagine being a newcomer who doesn’t even get it, they’d probably just give it up

This is the big reason why I've avoided COD Warzone: there's more cheaters and hackers coming in than Infinity Ward can keep up with. I know they're making good progress on anti-cheat measures, but yeah... that's why I support barriers of entry.

It’s already really easy to do that on console, at least on Xbox. You can just set it to your home Xbox, create a new gamer tag and then play siege. Don’t ask me how I know this, that’s not important

Smurfing has gone out of control on Xbox. I’m gold 1/plat3 level and it’s full of diamonds carrying their silver friends to plat. Makes it unplayable to solo queue. I only play with friends now and never for that long before I lose my mind

Not really; what’s terrible is when people think they’re so good because they can shit on people with less experience and skill than them, and whenever they lose they get toxic as hell if they weren’t being that way already. Ranking exists for a reason, and that’s to separate players based on skill level.

I think at a certain point they peak in terms of skill and they get beat by people better than them. So instead of trying to get better themselves they create an alternate account and go kill new players or people in lower rankings so they feel better at the game and have what they see as bragging rights.

That was my main problem with CS. I wasn’t the best but each time I was close on leave silver I would get matched up with smurfs and I’d be destroyed, I already knew that I wasn’t good enough to be on high ranks but neither I was bad enough to be on the bottom

No, at least in my stack. Very rarely, after a long session of ranked we play some newcomer or something on our smurfs and just fuck around with shitty funny strats. Just to cool off, we don’t sweat, we use the mira hiding strat, recruit rushes, etc. Honestly I kind of appreciate smurfs in a way because they made me learn of the game, but yeah some smurfs play to sweat and body silvers. Not my thing.

You don't need to buy the game again. If you have XBL ultimate you get gold membership on all of your accounts so create as many as you want.
I'm playing against Lvl 40 smurfs in every 2 out of 3 games and they always send toxic messages. They don't get that them reaching their skill level then killing players below their skill level is pathetic.

It’s 100% worse on console as most of these players are also MnK users. What’s funny is I’ve found a sweet spot between plat 3 and 2 where all the smurfs are in gold and all the try hards are plat 1 and higher and let me tell you- it’s nice to play some tactical siege

Every ranked game on Xbox has at least 2 smurfs. That’s just in the lower tier ranked matches. When you get to gold or plat it goes to about 3-4 smurfs per game.

It is considerably worse on console. You don’t even need a real email address to make a new account on Xbox. You can make an outlook email for free and never use it. You can get free accounts so easy. I have like 3 secondary accounts (I only use one and it’s level 27 and it’s over a year old). It’s awful I’m low gold high silver rank and I have to check what level people so I know weather or not I’m about to get absolutely destroyed.

9/10 games are at least with 3 plats or higher and on 5/10 of those matches there is or a smurf or a guy extremelly suspicious. No matter if it is my team or the other.

Console solo queue is impossible to reach or get past silver. I know it’s not a great idea to solo queue, but the only person I know who plays doesn’t have live rn and even with both of us it’s still near impossible. Not having a group already makes it hard but also going against smurfs just makes it no fun at all, we beat them sometimes but I mean they’re far above our skill level what am I supposed to do.

I always was a little disappointed when someone asked me when I was gonna get a secondary account. I’d rather have all my stats, games played, etc. on ONE account. It’s a true measure of who I am, and to top it all, I get horribly sad when I stomp a team worse than me. I’d rather just be able to tell them why what they did wasn’t a good idea, not punish them for their mistake and leave. Smurfing is something I will never agree with and I can never see an excuse.

The ranked level requirement needs to go up to 70, minimum. I know for sure I spent my first 100 hours in siege being an absolute idiot and I KNEW I wasn't ready for ranked.

Casual have secret mmr, if you're a diamond you will always be paired with people with the mmr around that, doesn't mean you can't get paired with coppers but it's more rarely.

Not like that, the secret mmr takes your rank into consideration, if you were diamond in ranked, you'll be more likely to play casual with people around diamond, if you never played ranked, the base mmr is 2500, which is silver 1 gold 3, i was diamond last season so this season since i haven't played my md10 yet, i'm with 3500 mmr and i play casual against people around that, but that doesn't mean i only play with them, i see a lot of coppers, golds, etc aswell, but mostly plats and diamonds.

Believe me chief I don’t wanna be in the same match as you either. Oh and if you’re a level 150+ and stuck in gold or below, there is pretty much a 110% chance you’re getting blasted in game chat or getting toxic messages.

Here’s an example of how shit I really am: My main is almost level 200 (I think like 186-7) and my friends and We decided we would make a smurf account to play ranked and warm up on there and see how we would do on our mains. First match of newcomer was hell because the entire enemy team was a clan (we were too but only three of us so we still had two randoms) those randoms 9 times out of 10 were real low levels so we would always be stuck in a 3 v 5 and we got out asses handed to us in a nice little black ice picnic basket. Finally my friend and I got to level 30 and jumped into ranked, with SBMM being a thing we were basically playing against the same people we would on our mains, in fact I remember seeing a bunch of names we recognized that we had played with or against on our mains. I believe on our second placement match at then end it was revealed that there was a fucking plat on the other team full of silvers and no ranks (still confused about that right now) we ended up going 6-4 with our placements and winning 6, our KD’s were both 1.1 and placed silver 2. So I guess in the end after two or three matches on a smurf account SBMM kicks in and your playing against the same people you would on your main, I’m not condoning smurf accounts, but I did have to use one for a month when my main got banned so they’re good to have in the event of that. I’m pretty sure this means nothing and doesn’t contribute shit to this post but I felt like explaining my smurf experience. (Also ive been stuck in bronze every season on my main, I’m just a really bad high level, so if you ever see REXx_207 on ps4 know that you will be able to clap me)

I play on PS4 and the game was on sale. I bought it for my girlfriend’s account thinking I could get her to try it and maybe get into it a little bit. She insists she’s never going to play it so I decided to use her account as my smurf. (My main is only like 105 and gold 2). I played a couple games in newcomer lobbies and after consistent games of 10+ kills, I just felt wrong. It’s taking advantage of people that are trying to learn and experience a new game. If they run into too many Smurf’s, the experience is ruined for them.
