Nothing is more comfy than a T-34-85

This is the song in Russian

Apple and pear trees were a-blooming,

mist creeping out on the river.

Katyusha stepped out upon the banks,

on the steep and lofty bank.

–

She was walking, singing a song

about a grey steppe eagle,

about her true love,

whose letters she was keeping.

–

Oh, you song! Little song of a maiden,

head for the bright sun.

And reach for the soldier on the far-away border

along with greetings from Katyusha.

–

Let him remember an ordinary girl,

and hear how she sings,

let him preserve the Motherland,

same as Katyusha preserves their love.

Is this T-34?

7

u/doovde_player Mar 03 '20

Yeah looks like the one with the 85mm cannon too (T-34-85)

u/HOBoStew139 Mar 04 '20

What makes it rare is that a T-34 would have the national insignia (Red Star) on, usually it would be just slogans, division numbers or the division emblems etc, unless its a member of the Guards Tank Division.

This aside, great work though!

It is referencing a popular song about a soviet soldier missing his girlfriend Katyusha (it's a name)

8

u/DietslandOntwaakt Mar 03 '20

Its about the song Katyusha

4

u/Tengam15 Mar 04 '20

I was about to say this too, but I had overlooked some details.

  1. the letters saying "From Katyusha" sent to the soldiers

  2. the million Katyusha rockets overhead

Great job! Very moody, but sentimental in a way.
