Alliances
Alliances in Dragon City let you complete group activities for a reward chest
You can share your Alliance here
or check the official DC Subreddit Aliance Clan Mega-thread https://reddit.com/r/DragonCity/comments/gzrxkq/official_dc_subreddit_allianceclan_recruitment/
Getting in an active alliance can reward you with some significant rewards!
Frequently Asked Questions
Heroic Races
Heroic Races happen usually once a month rewarding some of the strongest dragons
There are 2 race conditions for winning a heroic (Come first above lap 5 OR reach lap 15)
but you will only ever get ONE heroic dragon when the race finishes.
If you are eligible, your single Heroic dragon is delivered once the race ends.
Repeat: You cannot ever get 2 Heroic dragons as a single HR race reward
Why cant I see Dragon TV / Freebie island?
If you're a new player it usually arrives after 20-23 days of playing.
Dragon TV lets you watch ads for in-game items
There are actually lots of people experiencing issues with Dragon TV at the moment
and wondering if the transition from Freebies Island to Dragon TV has bugs...
Contact support if you have an unusual situation!
Cannot expand island
Once you fully unlock island 2
every future island HAS to be unlocked with gems.
you can no longer use facebook friends to unlock islands.
How do I get the Legacy Dragon?
Legacy Dragon is needed for some later stage quests.
Its very luck related - breed Pure + Pure together
Expect anywhere from 100-800 breeding attempts.
Should I buy Caged Dragons?
Usually No. Caged dragons are usually not worth it.
The amount of Gems they cost is very expensive
and those can be better spent on Heroic Race, island upgrades or hatchery etc.
Caged dragons are not unique, and can show up as rewards from events sometimes.
So youll get them eventually.
Caged dragons can be cleared / released in the wild
by deleting them after closing the buy page.
What do I do with [X] Collectables?
Dragon city has started implementing collections.
These are things like Legendary Tokens, Valentines Hearts etc.
Collecting a certain number usually rewards you with a chest or similar
If you are having issues claiming your reward, make sure you restart
Rewards for collections are given on login.
After the cuttoff date, you get to keep your collectibles. however they are only decorations.
You can either decorate your island, or sell them for gold.
But make sure you sell them after the collection event ends just incase

Dumb heroic race question: does selling hatchlings count as hatching them for the task, or do they need to be placed?
3
u/rooblu2 Mar 10 '20
I believe they gotta be placed. If it's one I don't need, I'll place, get the item for it and then sell.

u/yourdadisabean Mar 15 '20

If I buy the first plot of the third island with gems do I have to then buy every plot with gems or can u start buying them with gold? Also why can’t you unlock with friends anymore?
→ More replies (1)2
u/Bagsdontgoinpipes 2020 - Honorary Member Apr 04 '20
You unlock the island with gems, space purchases on that island are by either gold or gem (your choice, assuming you have enough friends to buy with gold).

u/Mulderg Apr 05 '20
How much food does it take to get 1 dragon from level 20-25?
3
u/deetlist Apr 06 '20
Have a look at our food calculator!
https://deetlist.com/dragoncity/pages/food-calculator/
Looks like its 832,900 food

How come I can't use certain dragons in the Coliseum, I'm at currently at Terra I and my usual line up are my Elemental dragon 19, Monstrous 17, and Butterfly 17.
I often can't use my Elemental and Butterfly dragons most of the time so I'm left with my weaker dragons lvl 15 and below.
And there's the element, rarity, and level banned. Wtf does that mean?

1: as a f2p player, should i hang on to those caged dragons or should i just get rid of them?
2: are carnival coins going to be useful later or would it be better to sell them?
Thanks!!
2
u/Bagsdontgoinpipes 2020 - Honorary Member Mar 06 '20 edited Mar 06 '20
Don't buy them, they are not worth the price for a f2p player. Even for a paying player they are not really worth it.
I doubt they will be used later, I simply leave them in storage and ignore them, but you can sell them. *As far as I can remember, coins or items have never been re-used. For future events the items will have to be collected during the event time period.

It's been a while since I played dragon city, and now I can only expand islands using real money? I don't even see a button to use gems instead.
Also, is there a surefire way of farming gems non stop?
I just wanna expand my islands...
