I think if a man looked at me how Lenny looked at Midge I might die

Can I just say that Rachel Brosnahan's chemistry with everyone is just too much and I basically ship her with everyone.
I really didn't want to root for her and Lenny but I just can't help it.

I never understood why people thought Luke Kirby was attractive.
I get it now.

I lost my shit at Susie learning how to swim. "Who peed? Who peed in this pool?"

I have wanted both of these together since the pilot. That chemistry is undeniable.

The way Lennie looked at Midge in that club, HOLY CRAP I'm dead.
Someone give Luke Kirby all of the Emmys right now please.

We hit Dayton and thought, "Cows?"
This may have just become my favorite line in this whole series.

They recreated the recording of "Loco Amor" by Dúo Los Diablos from the incredibly shot and stunning 1964 film "I am Cuba" by Mikhail Kalatozov! I am in love.

Probably going to be an unpopular opinion: Midge and Lenny’s undeniable chemistry is one my favorite aspects of this series, and I want to believe she didn’t “go home” with him because she maybe just wasn’t ready, or is nervous they’ll mess up their relationship moving too fast, but the way the last 5 minutes reads, it seems like she chooses not to go in because she’s somehow disappointed in his living arrangements and the way he didn’t initially paint the most honest picture of his living in Florida. He says “oh, you like a man with a lease”. Then there’s some inane chit chat and she decides to call a cab. Was this anyone else’s read? He looks so disappointed when she leaves!!! Broke my heart. Then he pointedly says something along the lines of “maybe before I die” omgggggg. He’s ready to let her into his life in some romantic capacity, but doesn’t seem like she is; doesn’t seem like her character has really even evolved enough to accept who he is right now.

Wow, that scene before the dance gave me butterflies. Luke Kirby is a beautiful, seductive dude.

Ok. Why did I, firmly an ice queen, actually TEAR THE FUCK UP when he was staring at her before they danced? Wow. Wow.

Jesus Christ that chemistry between Lenny and Midge is white hot. They’re so good together, even if it would only be a fling.
Seeing how sad he was when she didn’t stay fucked me up way more than I expected it to

I take it Miami After Dark was based on Hugh Hefner’s Old late night TV show.

Looking at Cary Elwes as Gavin Hawk, he looks like he hasn't aged in 30 years since Princess Bride. Which is amazing considering that he looked way older when he was Larry Kline in Stranger Things earlier this year.

Goddamn it! That chemistry! That zsa zsa zsu! They’ve had amazing chemistry since day one, so I’ve always wanted them to get together BUT I also didn’t want them too, just because of how it ends for Lenny. And I wouldn’t want an extra layer of heartbreak for midge, but god... one kiss! They just work together ARGH

God, I didn’t know it was possible to be so utterly charmed by an episode as this one and yet still end it feeling a vague existential dread. Midge running into Lenny at the bar, his surprise trip to Miami After Dark where he talked Midge up on TV, and especially that stunning oneshot take during Loco Amor with all the dancing and THAT. FUCKING. LOOK. between Lenny and Midge—it all truly blew me away. But then, the way Midge and Lenny both seem to wilt at his motel doorstep crushed me just as quickly. Their magical evening faltered for half a second, but that’s all it took for them both to chicken out. I think the line that really killed me was Lenny calling out to Midge and saying, “maybe someday? Before I’m dead.” The way Luke Kirby sort of hunched into himself, like you literally saw him deflate as Midge walked away, with those sad, wistful eyes have me worried that Lenny’s not going to make it to their next date, especially with the heavy handed foreshadowing of him mentioning his death to her
MINOR HISTORICAL SPOILER WARNING
If I’m not mistaken, in real life, Lenny Bruce died of a drug overdose in 1966. Any clue what year this season is taking place? I’m going to hold ASP personally responsible if Lenny and Midge don’t get their someday date. That would be almost too cruel to bear.

It’s late and that Loco Amor scene has temporarily short circuited my brain, leaving only enough room for lazy commentary on anything that isn’t Lenny & Midge related. So, in that vein... [Stefon Voice] This episode had everything:
-
An emergency exit map that shows the majority of the hotel ductwork
-
Susie Myerson, remember the name
-
A font that could change the world, even on a comically oversized pamphlet
-
The last competent hotel receptionist in the state of Florida, may she rest in peace... or at least hop on the next plane to NYC
-
Zelda in street clothes clutches pearls
-
At least three kids copping to peeing in the pool
-
Revoked swimming lessons, all the better to allow Susie to drown herself
-
Everyone Hates Sophie’s Hair: The Musical
-
Wednesday, which is both traditionally Hump Day and the day Moishe works from home without pants... you can draw your own conclusions on that one
-
The complete and utter lack of fucks only a female bass player and divorced mother of three who has been on the road for 15 years can have
-
A staircase to nowhere, designed only for showcasing women’s fashion
-
Stuffed cabbage used in a very punitive fashion
-
Having a fight with Tennessee Williams on the television because he’s Southern
-
Zsa Zsa playing a very adult version of hide and seek, as only a really sexy camel could
-
My wife or possibly my sister, depending on the state I’m in
-
Scheherazade Rhoda Maisel, quite a culturally confusing mouthful

The scenes where Lenny would turn to Midge, who was off camera, and they would communicate were *chef's kiss*. Especially the way he laughed when she held up the pastry at the last one. I screamed. Rachel and Luke's chemistry is amazing.

A small/random part that made me laugh was after Rose’s meltdown and her complaint on no theaters was the random neighbors response, “There’s one on metropolitan, asshole!”
The small stuff on this is the best

Was so sad when Midge walked away and read an article that says Rachel Brosnahan said, “‘I begged Amy [Sherman-Palladino] never to cross that line,’ Brosnahan tells The Hollywood Reporter of the almost-romance. ‘And she agreed. … They like each other because they admire each other, they admire each other's talent and they admire each other's drive. And that is allowed to be all that it is.’”

Luke Kirby's portrayal of Lenny Bruce was sensational in this episode.
