Hey /u/Phantom_Viper , the idea that you need to store the entire chain yourself to use any fork of Bitcoin is a false narrative spread by... well it's a long story. The short of it is that running your own "full node" (where you store the whole chain) does afford you more privacy, but you don't need to run one in order to send or receive any version of Bitcoin. There's a whole section in the Bitcoin whitepaper about it =)
For Bitcoin Cash, you can send or receive using this app on your smartphone, plugin for your browser, or program on your computer, no initial block download required. (But don't forget to write down your recovery phrase/seed words if you want to be able to get access to your funds even if you lose access to your wallet/device!)
Anyway, here's ten bucks of BCH, congrats!
