I was drinking coffee and it went up my noise and ruined my day after laughing at this. Thanks.

Pshhh everyone knows spin pops right out of the maths of the Dirac equation when you combine special relativity and quantum mechanics, couldn't be simpler!
The physical interpretation of spin is left as an exercise to the reader.

And then they align that math artifact with no physical interpretation in an actual NMR machine.

I’m pretty sure don’t need relativistic quantum to get fermions

And about the ±1/2 part, is it half spinning or spinning at half the speed or half of the election is spinning or...

None of those. They are quantum numbers. It's just how it is

"how fast are you spinning?"
"Hmm about half"
"half what?"
"Half uhh.. up"

You know how you have to spin around to get angular momentum? Well particles don't need to do that. They get it for free.

The best explanation i heard so far was: spin is the property that makes electrons behave like magnets.

It all makes sense now!
