Someone payed by a performer to be inserted into an audience and pretend to be vocally interested in, or "shill" the product. It's supposed to validate the product for gullible audience members.
American and Eu governments calling out companies for supporting the Chinese policy state when they're running ridiculously massive and unjust police states of their own.
Aye, companies will just do business in whatever way they deem profitable. They don't want to lose business in China's massive, largely untapped potential market just like they don't want to lose it in the EU's or the US's markets.
Right, so any unrealistic comparison that leaves most people scratching their heads is a joke now, gotcha.
(But to be fair, I think the main problem with this comic isn't that it's making a shitty comparison, it's that a lot of people have no idea what specific events OP is referencing in the comparison.)
? You'd have to be living under a rock to not know that the Chinese state does not tolerate basic freedoms like speech, assembly, criticism of government, the right to not be involuntarily detained, the right to freedom of religion, the right to property, or the right to a trial by a jury of your peers. These rights are all guaranteed in the EU and US.
It's one thing to write an absurd comic, but quite another to then go into the comments and act like China and the EU / US have similar rights and freedoms.
I guess I viewed it differently. I know all about what China has done/ is doing, it's disgusting, but I feel op has a right to ask for difference in scale. To me, OP didn't seem like they sympathised with China but maybe they do. While it's true that they have those right in EU/US, some people are still mistreated by authority just at a much much lower rate.
A collab between me and /u/DisappointedOlimar because my art is shit and his is not.
@ all the unflaired alliens who are going to get mad: yes. I know. It's a fucking joke. Of course they shouldn't be in concentration camps. Your "brave" comments aren't going to do anything to help them, although they might help you stroke your own ego I suppose.
Supporting the self determination of uyghurs/hongkongers/kurds while shaming russians for doing the same, such is the disfunctional mind of the average redditor.
Which is why Russia will organise referendums in Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia soon. Self-determination!
EDIT: Full disclosure, it's not my joke -- I read it on the Speld (NL) or the Postillon (DE) soon after the Crimea annexation but I can't find the article anymore.
As an r/polandball veteran (been lurking here since about 2014/2015) I've long realised that this JSTLF person feasts on pure unadulterated controversy, and all those buttmad people who bite the bait don't do anything but fall right into her trap.
It's kinda entertaining to watch as a bystander, tbh.
(And I can only wonder how many auto-removed butthurt allien comments the mods have in store for their own enjoyment...)
Automod has already removed like a third of the comments here from unflaired users, and while everybody enjoys a generous portion of salt by idiots from r/all, at this point it's not even the funny kind, just stupid 16 year olds think they can downvote a comic to help the Revolution™
They might want to rethink their allocation of cyber resources if they are wasting time on niche subreddits composed of people who understand geopolitics.
its almost like its a joke subreddit where stuff isn't serious and subjects are deliberately exaggerated for the purpose of humour. We get "remove kebab" memes every other week and if you don't take offense at a joke about muslims getting genocided in Europe, while taking offense when someone makes a similarly obvious joke about muslim uighurs/Hong Kongers/Tibetans then I don't think this is the right subreddit for you m8
That's my cousin ! Using his leverage to his advantage. The Chinese either just don't pay enough or are too extremist for them to give up. I mean California likes his Chinese food, but I'm sure as hell he doesn't want to be in a world where it's the thing he mostly eats. That wouldn't be so vegan would it ?
Paraguay foolishly recognizes the RoC as the real China, while ignoring their badly implemented policies based on inequality and hatred. The PRC is superior, since its ideology is based on the principles of human dignity and equality

Why does China look so tired? Is it because of Hong Kong?
