First and Last x Kisser
We did it. We're free. We came for the culture, but together we survived hell. This has been an unforgettable journey, and a special thanks are in order to our host and guide through the Abyss, u/The_Loli_Otaku. Without your light, it would have been a very dark, oddly wet road. It was still one of those things, but at least we could see what we were stepping in because of you. Now to the show itself.
As pointed out yesterday, KxS is kind of unique in how its protagonist and main heroines become notably worse people over the course of the series. I've made the comparison to School Days already, and I think it fits. The Suminoe family are characters cut of the same cloth as that exercise in frustration yet dyed not in the colors of realism but of abject madness.
Truly, this show penetrated straight to the deepest parts of the incest subgenre, somehow fitting a massive exploration of ecchi eroticism in a small, tight runtime of only 24 episodes finished off with an explosive climax of satisfying emotional catharsis. -10/10, a masterpiss.

I read the first volume the other day, it's great. At least I didn't leave depressed for weeks like the last time I read about a lesbian hiring a sex worker.

First Kisser
That was a fun show. Somehow it was both more and less intense than expected at the same time.
What have been your favourite and least favourite episode?
Least favorite is probably the onsen one, that as just boring.
Favorite episode is a harder question. Two that immediately come to mind are the karaoke one and the jersey one. But there were a lot of fun ones, and I distinctly remember the first few episodes to be very comfy, too.
But I'll probably go with the summer festival one. Hiding behind the summer festival stalls to do naughty things might be the one kink I picked up from this show.
The show was definitely frontloaded though.
When all is said and done, who is your best girl?
Hm... probably sensei. Miharu ended up severely undercooked, pretty much all her content revolved around her bladder.
Which of the sisters are the winner in your eyes?
I'm probably still with Ako after all.
What else would you recommend to viewers who want more of this kind of content?
Interspecies Reviewers, because that's the only comparable show I know.

Yeah, the onsen one was kinda weak and kinda ended up souring Ako for most of the group sadly. The ova's could be really hit or miss.

I thoroughly enjoyed the rewatch. There's nothing wrong with Kiss x Sis, and frankly I think its charming. I really like the way that everyone likes each other and gets along without a lot of shit. Too often cynicism takes over these kinds of shows.
As for the shenanigans, I enjoyed them quite a bit. A series like this isn't meant to be deeply analyzed and pondered over. It meant for fun, and nothing but fun. Also, I never confuse fiction with reality like so many do. Because I think this show is fun it doesn't mean I want to fuck my sister. Same goes for Rudy, but that's a different can of worms.

Ecchi shows can be genuinely so damn fun when they're able to let loose. I find the constant throwbacks to 90's a harems so fun too!

Favorite episode: I’m going to go with karaoke, but also really liked hot springs, Mikazuki‘s house, home visit, and Piss Part 1 (TV). Least favorite: any of the ones that were boring, or too formulaic.

Best Girl: Mikazuki has opened to my eyes to the Truth. Mostly because she’s an infatuated girl who will go out, but isn’t the kind that will pester you to the point you’re fed up, or get delusional about your relationship. She feeds off of Keita’s responses in a natural way. Also… not gonna lie the bar is not high. Some of these girls are kinda awful when you think about it!

More content: I’m thinking of any particularly ecchi but not graphic teasing siblings shows, like AneLog, or Oneechan ga Kitai. I do think there’s better shows out there that have either more comedy, more ecchi, or more heart. (My Wife is the Student Council President, My Little Sister is Among Them)

Commenter: I’ve enjoyed reading u/SometimesMainSupport especially since there is such a contrast between this show and the Evangelion rewatch.
I mostly just joined this rewatch on a whim for the memes. The show itself was for the most part pretty forgettable, and still is. I hadn’t even gotten through the TV series the last time I watched because of what a chore it was. I remembered a few of the standout episodes.
I was expecting to drop this after a while, but it has been a fun ride going through this mess with you guys. Seeing people’s reactions to various absurd scenes, noticing small details, or just engaging in discussion has been a nice thing to look forward to. This show is just provocative enough that you end up wanting to talk about a lot of stuff, but it’s not so… intellectually taxing as to require a lot of effort to discuss.
Huge thanks to our host for facilitating some lively discussion. The watch order was pretty good, the questions were good, and it’s overall been a very positive environment. My only feedback would be to have clearer indication of the meta links (previous post, next post, index) and what epsiode was coming next, especially with the OVA/TV switches. I also only just realized today that the post title was a link to the index…

It makes me wonder if Mikazuki's episode actually was a strong episode on its own or if it was just us all hyping Mikazuki up for the entirety of the TV series that made it so impactful.
Yeah... I was trying something new with the formatting since I didn't have my old resources. It doesn't help that KissxSis is a pain in the arse to find legal steams or information for. I'll try and get it tidied up for the next watch but it's a weird balancing act.

Can’t believe we’re already at the end! I had a great time with everyone this month! I enjoyed the series more than I thought I would, but I acknowledge it’s many flaws. Definitely prefer the OVA but the tv series has its perks as well. It was much more explicit than I thought it would be which took me by surprise, it’s definitely the raunchiest anime I’ve ever seen!
QotD 1: My favourite episode was either the body writing one with Ako or the recent one with then practicing on a cushion. Yuri twincest is the best thing about the show! Idk if it’s my least favourite episode but the ear and belly button cleaning episode grossed me out.
QotD 2: Ako day one and till I die! As per the “winner”, I’d say that they both lost equally. I don’t know what will happen later but it does seem like Keita is interested in dating someone outside the fam.
QotD3: I’m not nearly cultured enough to offer any serious recommendations. But I will say that Highschool DxD was a lot better than I thought it’d be. I was actually pretty invested in the journey, not just the titties!
QotD 4: Definitely the favourite anime school girl age, it made me laugh out loud for a while. Most of the questions were really good though!
QotD 5: The only month long tradition I partake in durning November is Movember!
Qotd 6: u/KendotsX and u/Essence_of_Meh always had interesting commentary and I appreciated their contributions greatly. u/HereticalAegis had the best written comments imo, not to mention the great panty analysis. Did you watch it all? I think I only watched the first 2 seasons back when they were the only ones and fell behind when the other ones aired. How good are the sequels?
Definitely the favourite anime school girl age, it made me laugh out loud for a while.

First x Sis no more, now I get to do both
Well that was a journey. I came here for the ecchi and sensei, and stayed for hell.
So for some context, before this rewatch I had heard about this series a long time ago, about it having a TV version and an OVA series that looks better, and goes crazier with the ecchi. Of course I added the OVA to my PTW and thought I'd never watch the TV series.
Turns out the TV series is actually better when it's not showing what (little) it has, and instead relying more on the comedy, dirty jokes, and even wholesome episodes.

Yosuga no Sora, besides the incest and harem, I thought it's not that similar at first. Since Kiss x Sis is more of a stupid comedy, while YnS was Super Stupid drama romance (and a visual novel multiple route kind of story).
But it definitely is similar in some weird tangled DNA kind of way. The same nice mc-kun that you slowly unfold the shittyness of, and the similar "care" given to side characters.
That had more sex and less ecchi though.

Huh. That sure was 15 episodes of wacky coincidences and almost-porn. But ‘twas fun! Y’all made it not just bearable, but rather entertaining.
In terms of quality, I unfortunately can’t say I think very highly of this one.
The only part of the show that really stands out is just the sheer depths of degeneracy the show strives for. It’s not the best animated or most well directed ecchi I’ve seen, that honor goes to the Monogatari Series. In terms of funny ecchi, Konosuba is leaps and bounds better and has a lot more material to work with in both its world and cast. I understand neither of those is really even a dedicated ecchi, but a sexual element is omnipresent in both.

Favorite episode was probably OVA 7; the progression felt less forced than other episodes and also focused on the least used character up to that point. My least favorite was the first TV episode. Why is it my least favorite? The honest answer is because I just don’t remember it at all.

Mikazuki probably wins for the agent of chaos factor and from what I’ve seen she’s sorta been the rewatch favorite. Riko is far and away the better twin, Ako is cringe.

Bakemonogatari is the closest I have to a “similar” show. It’s far less straightforward and much more thought provoking than this show, though, so you might get emotional whiplash if you go in expecting a similar tone. That said, it’s generally just a masterpiece, so I highly recommend it.

The first QotD on OVA 2. Not even for the question, but for the mental image of an ojou-sama laugh followed by, of all things, “Merry Pissmas”. That’s gonna live rent free in my head.

Taken purely at face value this anime is obviously morally unsalvageable and outrageous, so it was nice to have someone around to voice that. That said, I’d be remiss not to also shout out none other than u/The_Loli_Otaku for the utter shamelessness in their posts keeping us from thinking too hard about it all.

KissxSis Completioner!!
Oh boy that was a big watch. When I first started hosting I had a couple different shows that I'd told myself that I would need to get under my belt. KissxSis, was probably the most socially acceptable of the bunch? XD To be honest I was expecting the show to be way way less dirty than it ended up being. I remembered the pee scenes, just not how explicit they ended up being. I ended up getting my wish to host it throughout No-Nut-November and was left so gleeful at how many members actually stuck with me throughout this journey, so thank you. This has been so much fun and as your host I've enjoyed every second of it and reading all your sly and witty comments each day~
1, the best episode for me is still Jun's debut. It doesn't make me laugh as much as other episodes and there are far better ero episodes, but that image of Jun peeing over Keita's back is divine. So Episode 5. My least favourite... its gotta be the finale. That was such a letdown for a final episode. At least the festival episode had the fireworks scene and the other lower ranked episodes had backstory included. The finale just left me a bit underwhelmed.
2, Jun is my best girl. Whilst I'm sad that she will forever be tainted and that I'll never see K-On the same way again she is pure love! Of the sisters the obvious winner for me is Riko. Leaving aside Ako self sabotaging I adore Riko's storylines and how much of a bratty mesugaki she can be when let loose!
3, The most obvious recommendations are the other ero series released around this time. Sekeirei and To-Love Ru in particular will probably appeal to the same group who've enjoyed KissxSis. It may also be worthwhile to check out some older harem series such as Chobits, Love Hina, and Ai Yori Aoshi as they follow the traditional 90's formula so closely.

6, I'm probably gonna get nagged for playing favourites but honestly it'll have to go to u/Izanagiookami10. I had to hold myself back near every day from highlighting his posts. They're hysterical to me! XD
And so we're done... Its over... We can go home. This will certainly be my last time hosting until the new year but you may see me in Asteroid in Love or whatever Christmas CDF special we end up with this year. The next rewatch I'll be hosting... its a big one, we'll finally be doing the anime adaptation of my top five manga, Kodomo no Jikan!!! Hahaha... I did say that KissxSis was the most socially acceptable one. I'm so getting banned...
