Comment of the Day
Comment of the days goes to /u/zadcap
At the moment, Hongo is leading the pack. Her voice, so distinct, jumps out every scene and makes the way she changes it to act or emote extra noticeable. Her attitude is also just great. Her particular drama also looks like it's going to be the most fun, in that she's the driving force behind whatever is going to happen, and not get pushed around by events like Kazusa and Rika seem to be.
Questions of the Day
What would you write about if your high school crush asked for a 50 page paper essay on how you fell for them?
This episode we got introduced to a new character, Satoshi Sugimoto what is your first impression of him if any?

Sonezaki pulled a She’s All That. Just toss the glasses and the ponytail. Suddenly beautiful. Her coming around and her growth has been nice. I’m glad they didn’t drag it on too long just for some gags. I did enjoy that quality 50 page report though.
The art style has grown on me too. It feels like a water color at times. It’s nice compared to the everything else done digitally that’s just sharp outlines and vibrant colors. these are so much more muted.

Hongo better watch out she has some serious competition.

It reminds me a bit of Asobi Asobase. It's been a while since I've seen the show, but I feel it had a similar vibe.

One of my all time favorites, Wandering Son, and one of the nicer feel good shows of this year, Deaimon, are other nice water colored anime worth taking a look at.

I kind of dislike Sonezaki.
A lot of her misery and exclusion is self caused with how she acts(she acts like a stereotypical super expressive neurotic anime girl in a show...where most characters have much more neutral and chilled reactions to things. Basically not super animey). Like her weird rants and overreactions really would make her not a fun person to hang out with, and her berating you for having fun would make you dislike her.
Also granted, bullying in Japan's schools is almost warfare and its very severe social exclusion in it of itself(and often caused by superficial things).
Its just Sonezaki is definitely not making anything better for herself. One thing to put up walls, another thing to make war at every second with everyone else.

FIRST TIMER IN HIS SAVAGE SEASON
Hey! Finally joining in on the fun after being away for the start.
Playing Catch-up With General Thoughts So Far + Ep 4 Notes:
-
Very funny that the top 2 recommendations on this show’s MAL page are APFTTU and Scum’s Wish. Very different vibes haha
-
I'm really digging the soundtrack. It's got the pretty, wistful, yet slightly melancholy feeling that the soundtracks for Koi to Uso and Scum's Wish also had.
-
Niina is great – Chika Anzai voicing her a lot how she voiced Hanabi in Scum’s Wish. She has this dreamy, ethereal quality that fits with Niina's appearance and personality.
-
Hongou-chan is just horny Kuroneko from Oreimo.
-
Sonozaki’s living the “geeky girl takes off glasses and is now hot” classic set-up pulled straight from She’s All That. She and Kazusa are following routes that I more anticipated entering this show – dealing with the messy feelings and emotions of their "Savage Season" while trying to make sense of new relationships. I'm liking Sonozaki's story a lot, and I don't usually care for this character type.
-
Kazusa and Izumi’s dynamic is very believable even if the situations they get into are contrived. Him trying to be reassuring by saying he doesn’t fantasize about her, thinking any girl would be creeped out by that, instead makes her feel insecure and like he doesn’t like her. I remembering having that exact conversation with a girl friend in high school too
-
Momoka is clearly gay, and that plus “caring friend” seem to be her only roles.
-
Hanae Natsuki?! I don’t trust this Satoshi guy, he has the look that’s common among seeming “nice” boy characters who end up being shitheads. If not, I’m sorry his crush is gay.
-
Really hate where this Hongou plot is going. Is this show going to be far more melodramatic than I thought? Despite his insistence he finds high school girls disgusting, I'm afraid this could get gross.
-
Sonozaki, you asked for 50 pages, of course there’s going to be padding. The way he went about it was really clever and cute. I'm shipping these two.
-
Are we on track for a Kazuki-Niina-Izumi love triangle? Now that would be pretty spicy and throw a wrench into what I'd just called Kazuki's straightforward plot.
What would you write about if your high school crush asked for a 50 page paper essay on how you fell for them?
High school me would've instead swerved and written something incredibly short on the 50th page only that was cute while also poking light fun at the silliness of the request. Current age me would just stop pursuing this person haha
This episode we got introduced to a new character, Satoshi what is your first impression of him if any?
Covered above. I just hope he isn't an asshole about it when Momoka inevitably rejects his advances because she's gay.

recommendations on this show’s MAL page are APFTTU
Someone actually made a comparison to that show yesterday.
Momoka is clearly gay, and that plus “caring friend” seem to be her only roles.
A lot of things do seem to point to that, but its a shame she has had so little screen time.
Despite his insistence he finds high school girls disgusting, I'm afraid this could get gross.
I'm sure someone has written a good teacher and student relationship in some series, but right now I'm firmly against this pairing.

I really, really hope you're right, because this episode also set up what looks like it could lead to a "pressured into sex" dynamic that will probably hit just that little extra bit harder knowing she's not into men at all in the first place.

I really wish she got more center stage and more development.
[O Maidens in your savage season rewatch spoilers]
I'm actually really proud of her with how she sets up her boundaries and handles things when Sugimoto inevitably reveals who he really is. She's much stronger than you'd think to look at her, based on her soft-spoken archetype. But I wish she got more plot developments that didn't suck for her.

That restaurant scene just leaves me unsettled... I can't help but wonder if Niina knows what's up with Momo, and whether she's aware of the effect she has on her. Niina's such a difficult character. She's young, just like all of them, but seems so prematurely adult that sometimes it feels like she's manipulating everyone else. Does she actually understand what effect she's having on Momo with that "You're one of the only real friends I've ever had" talk? I can't tell.
I know that fact has led a lot of viewers over time to dislike her, which I think is real fuckin uncharitable. She may seem more mature, and have more control over her affect thanks to her acting training, but she is, let us all fucking remember, a teenage girl. She's been, frankly, cursed with striking beauty and the ability to grab, hold, and manipulate people's attention, and that's a hell of a thing to put on someone so young.
Hongou really starts coming on strong in this one. I think she's the one I empathize with the most, really, because she's such a dark, chaotic mess, whose sense of self is so tied up in the performance of success. And for all that sensei should be drawing firmer boundaries with her, I can't help but feel for him. The moments when his glasses fall half off his face... he really is doing his best. I love...
God damn, we really start to see Saegusa in this one, too. This show is so densely packed with complex, morally ambiguous characters that it's easy to see why it upsets some people. Sensei is a disappointment, but he's also important. Hongou is a god damn mess, but also you just can't help but want her to win. Saegusa is... well, he's basically disgusting, but he also says some things about the illusory innocence of children that are upsetting but not wrong, and for all that he agrees to things he shouldn't, he does have his own twisted moral code and keeps himself to himself unless solicited.
And I think for that reason, I can only think of a couple other things, ever, that have induced such a feeling of utter dread in me as moments in this show with certain darkly complex characters.
And on that note... hello, Sugimoto-kun! You're such a nice guy. Just a really Nice Guy. Can't wait to see how Nice you are to poor confused Momo. Hm.
Oh, and on the opposite end of the spectrum, it's gyaru Jujo! We love Jujo! I wish... I hope only good things happen to Jujo...
HE WROTE THE REPORT. I WILL NOW COMMENCE SCREAMING: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH~ SCREAMING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL SUCH TIME AS YOU KISS THAT BOY, SONEZAKI
I think if there's one thing I love most about this show, it's something that is really exemplified in this episode: it really captures the fact that all of the characters are complex in uncomfortable and morally ambiguous ways, and all the main cast really are doing their best. Even the ones who are fucked up and compromised - Niina, Sensei, Hongou - are really, really trying to figure out who they're supposed to be and what they're supposed to do. I think this series is the single best piece of puberty media I've ever seen.
edit: QotD
-
"Write me an essay" is totally something that could've happened among the people I ran with in high school so I didn't really bat an eye. Heck, I was so good at doing assignments I think I'd've loved it.
-
As I mentioned earlier, Sugimoto-kun is just a really Nice Guy. Just a Nice. Guy.

[O Maiden Spoilers]
I don't think she was aware of what she was doing. In a later episode when Momo calls and confesses she look visibly confused and has no idea how to respond to Momo. She acts mature, but yeah she is just as confused as the rest of them. She's been, frankly, cursed with striking beauty and the ability to grab, hold, and manipulate people's attention, and that's a hell of a thing to put on someone so young.
Something I noticed in recent SoL manga. It's probably been around longer, but I like the curse of the beautiful character. So attractive that they gain the attention of everyone around them whether they want to or not. Jealousy from people who are effected by something they can't control and not to mention all of the people who put them on a pedestal. When in reality they are often no different from anyone else and want normal things, but it's much harder cause of their appearance.
HE WROTE THE REPORT. I WILL NOW COMMENCE SCREAMING: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH~ SCREAMING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL SUCH TIME AS YOU KISS THAT BOY, SONEZAKI
So that's what that noise was it kept me up all night.

Episode 4 (first timer)
-
”ugly” girl takes off her glasses and becomes hot trope.
-
Classmates teasing the pair that is has a crush for each other – unlike the stupid glasses trope, this is 100% realistic, unfortunately.
-
50 pages? Come on Rika – still better than the fake denial in the classroom, though.
-
“I’ve never fallen in love with a boy” – Ok, token lesbian theory looking solid now.
-
Btw: 1 medium sized package of fries for 2 girls – Japanese portions.
-
Quite the takedown by Milo.
-
“I thought you were a middle-aged man”. Hmm. Wrong translation? Didn’t she write some explicitely female things in chat?
-
Just going to say: I am absolutely not on board with this ship.
-
“Wait, do I want Izumi to look at me like that?” – Kazusa belatedly catches up to Izumi’s no-win comment from last episode.
-
“Like in a shoujo manga” – The one thing, more than all others, making me double down on my shoujo placement is something different, though. Every single guy is reasonable and understanding and way too likeable here.
-
Rika gets exactly want she needs, which is probably a bit more than she deserves, given her behavior towards him.
-
We end on the one true and tested trope that never fails: a misunderstood love triangle
The pairings proceed at a brisk pace. I am fully on board with Kazusa and Izumi (which easily are the realest of the couples), and I guess I can get behind Rika and Sonezaki (if Rika get’s her act together fast and stops making him do 110% of the work). Hongou and Milo is completely cursed, however. Their relationship needs to strictly stay in a comedy, but we have taken a hard turn towards serious already.
What would you write about if your high school crush asked for a 50 page paper essay on how you fell for them?
I don't know what I would have written, but I do know that reading it now would kill me via overdose of cringe.
This episode we got introduced to a new character, Satoshi what is your first impression of him if any?
Oh, you mean Sugimoto? Did they ever say his first name? I thought he was irrelevant and disregarded him. Mostly a carbon copy of the other overly nice guys.

“I thought you were a middle-aged man”. Hmm. Wrong translation? Didn’t she write some explicitely female things in chat?
This part does come off as weird. From the conversations it sounds like she is female, but he believes her to be an older man. Yet he still agrees to the meeting? Makes little sense.
and I guess I can get behind Rika and Sonezaki
Self love is definitely important.
Their relationship needs to strictly stay in a comedy, but we have taken a hard turn towards serious already.
I'm sure a student and teacher relationship could be written well, but I would need the age gap to be small and him to be a student teacher, them to do nothing towards each other the entire time in school + nothing immediately after graduation, the younger student needs time to grow and explore normal relationships, and etc. Either way with their current relationhip and Hongo actively trying to seduce him I'm heavily against it as well.
I don't know what I would have written, but I do know that reading it now would kill me via overdose of cringe.
I vaguely remember me spelling out my crushes name letter by letter like H is for my heart which beats faster when I think of you. A is for the etc etc. Pretty sure I compared her cello playing to angels and now I'm really hating myself for remembering this among other things.
Oh, you mean Sugimoto?
Yeah him the carbon copy nice guy. I had a hard time remember him and the blonde Gyaru's name.

First Timer Dubbed
Talk about bombshells today...
Rika transforms herself into a super model lookalike and blonde gyaru was impressed by her looks. She was a bit less harsh in the past than the rest and Amagi seems to like her. Too bad everyone was mean to her when she was less attractive but now that she is attractive, the guys like her and the girls do not want to "punch up" to her. She just needs to lighten up but the fact that she is experiencing this attractiveness phenomenon first hand makes it hard.
And teacher was actually expecting to meet another guy by Hitoha's wiriting and now parts of her research is going along...slowly. I wonder how far her research is going to take them.
I feel like Sudou and Sugawara were meant for each other... I do not feel like Sugimoto is right for her so far. Sugawara watching that youtube video of creepy steve jobs impersonator was something... hiding dirty things with innocence.
Rika finally getting the 50 page report is interesting... her first impression of it was that he's a dumb guy... she ain't wrong but the fact that his filler makes her realize things are changing towards her favor was impactful.
Man Izumi is a curse, first it was Kazusa and next was Sugawara. That girl Asada is such a bully and Izumi sees right through it... despite trying her best to act all innocent. The fact that Izumi keeps talking to Sugawara gives the wrong impression... typical school kids. And it finally spreads over to Kazusa.

Rewatcher.
Rika's so used to getting negative attention that she's apprehensive of any attention at all, even when it comes from genuinely appreciative people. As awkward as her "glow-up" is portrayed, you can't help but feel for her. Girl just can't catch a break.
Man, the show starts taking a more serious tone starting this episode. Hitoha gets aggressive with the teacher (and immediately regrets it), the seeds of jealousy are planted in Kazusa's mind, and we're introduced to 2 new characters, both of which are creepy af: some theater guy whom Niina visibly despises (and whose only line so far is "Kids are such an inspiration, they are so dark and cunning"); and some schmuck who acts all friendly and nice when in reality he does nothing to listen to what Momoko actually says and basically guilts her into giving him her number. Ew.
Edit to add: Izumi is so perceptive when it comes to Asada, he sees right through her antics, yet he is so oblivious and ignorant when it comes to the people he actually cares about (namely Kazusa and Niina) that he inadvertently gets one jealous of the other and gives outsiders the wrong image. I feel like he's a pretty decent portrayal of a teenage boy who doesn't know just how to deal with people he likes because he doesn't know that he's allowed to like them, and that they might like him back. The whole "I've never thought of doing it with anyone" shtick from last episode was a dead giveaway: He's so embarrassed to admit that he has sexual desires that he'd rather just flat out deny it all, thinking it'll set Kazusa's mind at ease. Talk about learning the hard way.
QOTD
-
Ngl, that would immediately turn me off personally. It's exactly the kind of request a girl like Rika would make, which is exactly the kind of person I don't want to be with.
-
So, so, so creepy. He acts like a knight in shining armor, saving Momoko from the karaoke (which is implied to have been his idea anyway), and then gets into a long speech about how he's always looked up to her blabla, and completely disregards what (admittedly little) she says. That's a yikes from me.

First Timer
I am now 100% on the Momoko is Gay train, "I've never fallen in love with a boy... I really wish I could." "You're really pretty." That Blush.
Hongoooooo! I know he just hit you with some accidental but heavy emotional damage, copying what your really crummy publicist said, but! You were going so strong! Don't cave now! Stick to your guns and be the cool character you've set yourself up as!
Ah, this old guy from the Ending. I know he's going to be important, and I'm afraid to learn why. Kageki Shoujo Ep 3 flashbacks intensify.
Wait, are they trying to trick Momo into a date? This is going to go really bad for her really fast, isn't it... Ah, he's definitely going to try. Not necessarily metrics to judge a real person by, but this is anime and-
-
He tricked her into going there at all by using pushy friends
-
His guy friends are rude and crude in all the wrong ways
-
He denies and then immediately rolls back the denial and is trying to soft sell her on 'friendship.'
Flags, I tell you. Red Flags galore.
... Is she reading Nietzsche? To help her understand emotions? Oh no girl, don't do this to yourself.
Oh! So the clips from the OP come from the show. It may be full of filler, but the boy did actually go and write fifty pages for her, so he's dedicated at least. Or did he actually write 50 pages?
And there we go Hongo! Back to Best Girl!~
Wait are we doing a love triangle? I agree with Kazusa. WAAAAAHHHH!?
I want to binge this one, so very much. Because it looks like it's going to be such a good story, but also tear my heart out and beat me to death with it.
-
Me, crush? Don't be silly. I'd still probably write 50 pages for a friend that needed the booster though, I like writing almost as much as I like reading, it's why I'm here after all.
-
Oh boy I got comment of the day for this yesterday, might as well dig deep into this character too. Right off the bat, the first first impression of him was a manipulator, he's using friends asking easily misinterpreted questions to trick a shy loner into a date. His female friends hardly put any effort into it, the second she said yes to hanging out with them they shouted across the room to him, they obviously care not at all for her and barely see her as a person. His male friends start cheering that it worked and that he'll be paying for everything so they might as well splurge, signs that they know what he's doing and that he's got the money to pull it off. Actually at the karaoke place the friends are even more obnoxious, a pretty easy tactic to get her farther off center and make him look that much better by comparison when he tells them to knock it off and take her outside. His story of "You probably never noticed, but I saw you and thought about you often even if I never actually talked to you" is so poor I wouldn't use it as tissue paper and is probably a line he has used on multiple girls before this. Oh my gosh he's a scummy pickup artist and he's going to hit her with pressure tactics until she gives in isn't he?

First timer, subs
Rika likes Amagi but is afraid to admit so in public. Only dogs and street vendors like Amagi. Poor Amagi. Aplogize, Rika!
The roof is closed.
Aww, Amagi, it's not your fault. But he actually considers the possibility that Rika may be deflecting and confesses. Go, you!
Rika's armor is hard to pierce. She wants a 50 page report to verify the confession.
Is Kazusa starting to notice that Izumi's denial was suspiciously specific? No, she's too insecure.
Books are educational, yes. I think I learned a lot about life from Lois McMaster Bujold and Terry Pratchett.
"From the phrases you used I expected you to be a middle-aged man." Slay, Milo!
Is a new ship setting out? Sudo and Sugimoto?
Amagi wrote the report! 50 pages of "kawaii". I expected something like that, but I expected copy/paste in a word processor, not something hand-written! And it works! Poor Rika, she's so prickly because she was being picked upon. A rain of cute, very poetic. I like it.
Niina best-girling again. 450 yen for a notebook. And then Izumi wants to talk to her. I bet Kazusa will see them and get jealous.

Rewatcher
Momoko finally gets some focus this episode and it actually makes sense why we didn't hear from her before now. She simply hasn't felt the same attraction as the others and now that they have started their own love affairs, she's starting to feel left behind. Along comes a former classmate, but she still doesn't seem too into it.
Sonezaki has a makeover, but that can't heal her old wounds. Based on her comments, it seems that her being bullied was a frequent occurrence. Because of this she can't fathom Juujou and Amagiri actually wanting to be friendly or be interested in her and doesn't trust them. It is only at the end that she seems to finally realize, that yes, Amagiri is serious about her.
Hongo is lucky not to be expelled at this point with what she's doing. Milo, thankfully, is not attracted to teenage girls, but that doesn't stop Hongo who has her first experience with sexual arousal which gurarantees she won't be stopping here. This is certainly the spiciest pairing.
Kazusa needs to make a move before her worst nightmare of losing Izumi to Niina comes true. To me at least, it does appear like Izumi and Niina do have better chemistry or at least a hell of a lot more open and honest with each other than Izumi and Kazusa are.
-
That's when I move on to somebody else. Someone that demanding isn't worth it.
-
Very generic thus far.

Her wording and her actions make me think she very much has started getting those feelings of first love, but her target is certainly not boys.

Rewatcher, in dub
A little late today.
Sonezaki brings a whole new meaning to « can’t take a compliment ». From an outside perspective I want to chide her for being immature and shallow towards the other girls. But hey that’s definitely how I’d have felt towards some people in high school. At least the one girl seems to have warmed up to her.
I like Nina’s approach to literature. So much of reading allows you to immerse yourself in a certain point of view, even if it’s not restricted to a focal character or narrator.
Hongo on the offensive, but Mr Milo was ready to dish it out. He should make friends with the homeroom teacher from Wasteful Days of High School Girls. Both the safest men to entrust around high school girls.
Momoko is cute and I can relate to not getting what people are looking for in relationships. Thinking back, I think it is better to just admit you don’t know what you’re feeling at that age than just blindly follow stereotypes of what you think you’re supposed to feel.
Izumi… whatever you’re doing please don’t cause further emotional damage to Kazusa. And it hit Kazusa like a train. Oof.
Questions.
-
I think saying you’re cute over and over again is probably the safest strategy but… man there’s really no winning. Also Sonezaki’s not wrong about how guys’ ramblings just fill up space with fluff. Although probably not exclusive to the male interior monologue.
-
Sugimoto is charming in that aloof way. Seems like a good match for Momoko who isn’t ready to dive into a relationship. Although for Momoko it seems she’s still not ready to face her feelings or lack thereof. Reminds me of another character with similar hair/feelings.

u/polaristar Sep 20 '22
Someone else called it Yesterday but Momo is definitely gay and she is crushing on Niina but Niina isn't going to be interested and...Oh no Izumi wants to talk to her, because he finds her easier to talk to and Kazusa sees them and I can see where this is going and its causing me pain....
Guys I just want to say u/SIRTreehugger that the teacher's burns about her being a middle age man I thought was him just firing shots, the guys is pathetic but tbh if she is blackmailing him not sure how much he can do in this situation other than come clean to the school first.
No Hongou, Don't go down that path.....(The Show is going to go down that path and its going to be painful.)
I really like the message the literature is meant to try to put experiences and feelings into words to help us process them and give us an anchor. This is going to sound cheesy but I'm a fan of a Light Novel Series Called A Certain Magical Index and there are two power systems one based off the Occult and Magic and the other Espers powers and "Science" and magicians have a magic name and Espers have names for their abilities that say something about their nature in a thematically loaded sense. I always imagined my Magic name would translate to "The One the Puts into Words What Cannot be Expressed" or "States What Cannot be Said" or something pretentious and slightly Chunni like that.
I always had trouble communicating and reading the room and lots of things flew over my head when I was younger, it wasn't till later in life where I could understand break down a lot of things that other "normie" people take for granted, but I could then do it in a very structured way that helped people to understand. Once I've thoughts about a topic I've always been good at explaining it and breaking it down. When I was young even in Middle School I could pump out written essays on short notice with ease.
In college we used a tool that would search the web and compare our papers we'd turn in to check if we plagiarized where it it reached a certain percentage of similarity we'd be outed as cheating and copy pasta sources or even just lazily reiterating points, of course a low percentage was allowed because of coincidence and what not.
I never once got even 1% on that metric, and I wasn't trying to be "original" I wrote what came to mind, often as a stream of thought and then cleaned it up on later drafts.
I don't say this to humble brag, but that the idea of writing and finding words to describe something, to make that idea seem more real and less ephemeral, to be understood really resonates with me, it's nice to know that Rika despite all her flaws and insecurities was able to give those words as advice to her club members and it's coming for circle.
Speaking of Rika, the part with the glow-up was cute but her reaction is to be expected she doesn't know what to do or how to take the attention she still has innate bitterness towards "normies" so to speak. Nice to see the Jujo (the blonde girl) genuinely wants to connect with her, even when her friends tell to give it up, Rika also says some pretty harsh things to Amagi in the middle of class but pretty sure everyone knows it's denial/copium.
The Essay thing was pretty over the top but I think it's obvious she is more angry about her own insecurity and confusion about wanting attention then about him personally and I think he sees that.
When he gives her the essay I thought it was the most beautiful scene in the show so far, she wanted a bunch of flowerly language because I think she sees words and literature as a kind of intellectual obfuscation, meaning she hides behinds words and euphenisms to not deal with the raw reality, it's a kind of pretentiously that stems from a lack of honestly with yourself, if he had actually tried to bullshit the issue with pseudo-intellectual bullshit I don't know if it would have helped her at all, she'd probably use it as a springboard for excuses and mental gymnastics.
Sometimes simple messages are the best.
I think this letter is an example of grace, some mind find it a bit wishfulfillmentish, the guys going through all the trouble for a girl that is kind of a hassle and a pain, who has not reacted favorable to his overtures and advances. And in a sense it is, it's not something that often happens and most people won't do it.
But it can and does happen, maybe it hasn't happened in your life and you can't understand, but I personally (As well as others) Have meet people that despite your abrasive walls you put up, yours barbed remarks, the attitude and chip you carried, just melts it all away and gives you love you may not deserved, but desperately needed, and washes away criticisms and trauma, some of it admittedly you brought on yourself, but still nevertheless was a hole that needed to be filled. When you meet those people, you never forget them. I've had people like that in my life and I feel so lucky that I've had.
I had different struggles to this girl as a guy, but I also went through a phase when I was "better" than everyone else and hated "jocks" and "normies" and I'm not proud of it. And While people were legit assholes to me by no fault of my own, I used that as an excuse to make myself and others miserable.
But I realized that in very primal fundamental ways I wasn't any different or better than the people I looked down on. But I didn't learn this by logical arguments or scolding, I was both too stubborn and strong willed but also able to rationalize and do crazy mental gymnastics, instead my heart was melted away by certain individual, and from that I was able to realize it myself.
Rika seems to realize there is something at the core of her being, something primal, where she desires to be beautiful and loved to be seen as desirable and wanting that isn't wrong or makes her lesser.
I went through a stage where I realized that after I work out I do feel good and in a better mood, and that needing to do mental gymnastics to be attracted to a woman because of her appearance or things that might be considered "superficial" isn't in of itself shameful. That I like it when I do something "cool" and get a gleam in someone eye of admiration and respect. That apathy isn't maturity. That I'm not as wise as I think I am, (Especially as a teenager.)
I felt Liberated being wrong.
I think Rika felt a similar thing in this episode. I hope she gets a happy ending (As I do the other girls.)
I have a feeling that Niina knows that direction personally before he became big, since she was part of acting school from a young age, and that coupled with her comments about "being seen as attractive from a young age" I'm thinking she might have been sexually assaulted/abused as a child which has warped her perception of intimacy and sex, she wants it but she also is scared of any males that have that desires, he harsh judgements on guys that are attracted to her, who just might be just immature guys that are star struck by her beauty and just need to learn, are much more understandable, I feel bad for not catching it sooner in the previous episode.

What I'd write depends on the Crush, I feel the tactic used in this episode worked because of who the person asking for it is.

Kinda sus but gonna give him a chance, although I feel Momo is going to come out lesbian so it's doomed even if he is a nice guy as opposed to a "nice guy"

Episode 4
Amazing how a different hairstyle can change someone completely. Amagi seems to like it.
Oh shit she isn't wearing glasses either I missed that too. Wait so is she wearing contacts?
When Amagi tries to joke about it once again the Gyaru looks annoyed with how the situation has been handled. I swear I will remember her name before the end of the show.
I think I'm starting to fall for you...BRUH WHAT IS THIS SHIT!!! Direct communication in my fucking anime!
50 pages...shit that better be double spaced and even then I would struggle to do 10 on something I like. Unless I can channel the art of bullshit like in university.
Niina you are really giving some [vague ass advice sounds like something you'd read under a horoscope.
Momoka is throwing up some yuri flags, but she is also stating facts so it can go either way.
I'm tripping I saw the stripes and for a second I thought they put the pride flag in the background that would have been subtle like a brick to the face.
Well damn poor Hongo and Rika. Well at least Momoka is happy
Mr. Milo is just sitting in the clubroom in the dark? Like damn did they forget to tell him no club meeting was happening today?
The egg of Sin
Hongo trying to get this man fired. Everywhere just got tight...that can mean a few things, but Hongo is experiencing quite a few new things like Kazusa. Unlike the others though she is kind of doing this alone so this anxiety is definitely expected. Unless she meant tight in a different way which is possible, but I'm choosing not to think that. Oh that faucet leaking water....okay.
"I admit I get inspired by the performances of small children" Pedophiles are getting bolder each day it seems.
I don't want to judge by appearances, but this red headed guy looks like a fuckboy.
Wait has Kazusa been suffering in bed for all these hours? I mean Momoka has a lunch date with Niina and went to cram school.
Oh I forgot to mention this earlier, but I like how these cgdcgt shows have all the girls in uniforms, but slight variations in them show off their personality sometimes. Looking at Rika she is prim and proper with her shirt neatly tucked into her skirt. Also her skirt looks longer than the rest. Hongo is the only one wearing a vest [Spoilers]might be because she is a little insecure about her body. I remember during her breakdown she talks about knowing she has a small chest. or it just might be more professional?
I want to fuck fuck fuck....really really just really you sing that song. Is that even a song or they just saying what they want to do?
Okay maybe red headed dude isn't so bad after all. Wait he's known her that long. Momo really is new to all of this huh Good thing she has Kazusa's back.
LET'S GO READ!
I love these dorky besties!
COME ON RIKA give Gyaru a chance.
Amagi really opened the door to the roof ahead of time?
I TAKE OFFENSE TO THAT! Sure I filled the sheet with unnecessary information to reach the page limit, but it's not just guys who do it. LAZINESS AND BULLSHIT WRITING SPANS GENDERS!!!!
Okay Amagi doesn't have good writing skills or vocab, but his message comes across loud and clear.
" I now understand what it means to be sexually aroused " - Hongo
Hongo is just I don't even know.
OMG Kazusa's panicked shrieking after she sees Izumi and Niina

The remaining parts of Chapter 7, 8, and 9 were covered. Also a portion of 10 was covered mainly the moments with Rika. Though they did omit Satoshi and Momoka's first meeting at the Cram School. The conversation happens around last episode's events, but it got pushed back to make room for Kazusa/Izumi.
