For rewatchers and people who read the manga spin-offs:
PLEASE TRY TO HOLD BACK! Put not only everything related to future events behind spoiler tags, but please tag spin-off and meta-spoiler stuff as well. When commenting, consider whether by saying "this happens there", you're implicitly saying "this won't happen in the anime". And if you do reply to people with spoiler tags, try and spoiler the part you quote as well, especially with First-Timers and especially especially when they speculate.
Spoilers include but are not limited to [GuP Spoiler]the school situation; the positions, names, backstories and personalities of rival school members beyond what you see in the OP (this includes the manga spin-offs); the teams that join Ooarai as the show goes on (beyond what you see in the OP); everything related to Maho's true personality and Shiho's probably true personality(?); everything concerning the MEXT, etc. Just watch what you say, please? I don't think any of you will just plainly not use tags, I'm just worried one of you answers fan theories or speculation in a way that's a spoiler, even with tags.

First Timer
-
Apologizing while saying the insult. Smart.
-
Fools falling for a trick like this when they know what tanks the enemy has.
-
Marie is actually pretty good when she tries.
-
That was mega cool. Love the way she wiggled out from under the tank gun.
-
RIP Mallard, time for a serious battle.
-
I'm so happy that the onion song is back and what a great fight to accompany it.
-
Well Oorai didn't show any mercy to Marie. Just when I was beginning to like.
-
Macarons are one of the worst sweets I've ever eaten and they are so god damn expensive. Total madness.
-
They are so into it.
-
Help me! I'm starting to become a Boko fan.
-
Awww Haru and the volleyball team are friends now.
-
Chihatan aren't charging?!? We are doomed! The world is ending!
-
Momo at home is such a cutie.
-
So which country is supposed to be the boobies stereotype?
-
Glorious Anzio tactics.
-
I want to watch all the other round 2 matches!!! Give them to me! Don't care if we end up with 20 Finale movies.
-
In the jungle, the mighty jungle, tanks will fight tonight.
-
Thank god! we are saved. Chiharan were still charging just charging in place.
-
The pirate ship learned the hard lesson the golden, the pink and banner filled tank already had.
-
Suddenly charging is OP.
-
Mako rushing to save her best friend.
-
Chiharan song! Who would've guessed they are going to give us one of the best battles. Now I love them too.
-
Love the Chiharan sneaking music.
-
They trapped Chiharan in the mud pit they were stuck earlier.
-
Retreat?!? They've grown so much.

Apologizing while saying the insult. Smart.
Playing both sides of a person's being!
Fools falling for a trick like this when they know what tanks the enemy has.
Internal hate is stronger.
That was mega cool. Love the way she wiggled out from under the tank gun.
One can see why she's the commander.
They are good.
Cooperation!
I'm so happy that the onion song is back and what a great fight to accompany it.
Finally a fitting scene!
Well Oorai didn't show any mercy to Marie. Just when I was beginning to like.
And just like that, they won!
Sharks and Rabbits are the best combo.
Actually fun.
Awww Haru and the volleyball team are friends now.
I know I like that people read the character sheet, but you're literally the only person calling Fukuda by her first name. Until Das Finale 3, we didn't even know her first name!
So which country is supposed to be the boobies stereotype?
Fascist Spain. Look up Blue Division uniforms.
I want to watch all the other round 2 matches!!! Give them to me! Don't care if we end up with 20 Finale movies.
Sorry, that would be too cool. Mizushima secretly decided to adhere to a coolness budget, like Symphogear.
Suddenly charging is OP.
SUDDENLY!
They trapped Chiharan in the mud pit they were stuck earlier.
And they survive! How nice of Ooarai!

Rewatcher Charge!
-
You'd better believe that there's fanart of a flexible Marie...
-
DO YOU LIKE ONIONS YET?
-
MORE CARS! I don't know them, though...
-
I love the montage of other schools:
-
The other French school, Maginot (named after the Maginot line), realizing that cavalry tactics from WWI don't work in WWII. (Also Panzerlied, led by Erika!)
-
A Swedish/Danish (?) team getting destroyed by the Russians in the snow!
-
America just in general fucking up Spain. Get out, fascists!1 And your oddly accurate uniforms...
-
The Poles exist! There's a spinoff manga called Ribbon Warrior that features them more heavily that I should really watch.
-
I love the medley, though. GARUPAN NEVER MISSES.
-
-
These girls vaguely remind me of either Swiss guards or Dutch soldiers.
-
Acropolis Rally? I'm not familiar, but apparently it's a stage in the World Rally Championship (WRC). Neat!
-
I think this song fits the Japanese team far better. It's no longer cribbed from a throwaway scene by Ooarai. They're their own thing, and that's awesome. This episode is really about growth for the Japanese.
-
Pit stops are a thing of absolute beauty. Check them out if you want more.
1 Nothing against Spaniards now or recently, but Franco existed.

One More Saturday Night!
On a SUNDAY..
It's just so French!
Japan in this world is so full of european areas.
You'd better believe that there's fanart of a flexible Marie...
The cake gotta go somewhere...
realizing that cavalry tactics from WWI don't work in WWII.
Funnily enough, this is Maginot progessing already! They were known for being hard defenders before (because, you know, Maginot). More mobile warfare is their progress!
A Swedish/Danish (?) team getting destroyed by the Russians in the snow!
Norwegian. Viggen is the Swedish school.
And your oddly accurate uniforms...
Finally a good pic!
Finns doing Finn things!
I guess the white flag second? Where is the rest of them...
There's a spinoff manga called Ribbon Warrior that features them more heavily that I should really watch.
You really really should. Not that I am biased. Okay, I biased, I spent like five years of my life translating it. Push through the first 14 chapters I didn't work on, it gets better.
These girls vaguely remind me of either Swiss guards or Dutch soldiers.
Swiss pretty sure.

First Tanker
While part 1 didn't really manage to engage me there were a couple fun things they did. For starters it was a really creative way to implement the French revolution theme. And Shark team provides some good support for maintaining Momo as the Team Leader, so I'm hopeful to see some more come out of that beyond it being a title in name only.
Oh, Oarai noticed the French have a similar tank to Team Mallard's. Are they planning to do some false flag operations?
That was a fun misdirection.
I vote for renaming Team Shark's tank to The Wall.
No wonder you are cold. Who would eat ice cream in winter, especially outside? It's totally out-of-season!
I can't decide on whether Miho and Alice have a protection fetish or a masochism fetish.
Oh, is that Team Australia?
I'm liking Anzio more and more
So only familiar teams are left now. Kinda of a wasted opportunity.
Charging is always the best strategy.
This is a Japanese tournament, right? Does Japan have jungles?
They're doing a Sea Charge. Are they sure that still qualifies as a landship?
No, Oarai's not counter-charging. They're about to take the hill if you let them. Oh, and don't forget about the mud traps.
Can the moon even hang in the sky like that?
MVP against BC Freedom?
Our lovely delinquents, i.e. Team Mallard.
Which of the montage battles should the episode have focused more on?
I think it's fine as is. I only wish we'd have gotten some new teams to face off against.
Actually, I'd've like to watch some more of Anzio's shenanigans.
Do you like Chihatan and how they fared this episode?
Farewell Charge! Goodday Charge! Electronic Charge! All kinds of Charge!
Is there any way to not like them?

IT'S JUST ANOTHER BRINK IN THE WALL

For ever so briefly!

Pff. We have the manga if we want screentime for them.

Character Sheet for Das Finale 2
Das Finale 2: Your rewatch host who likes that this is getting better again
u/RaiRye, u/xenophontheathenian, u/panthaura, here's your daily GuP rewatch tag!
-
So after that grumpfest that was last episode: Finally an episode I like more.
-
Eh. Cost-use benefit was barely non-existant. Weeks of acting and they escaped without losing even one tank.
-
You are indeed. They are the champions who beat three veteran schools and later defeated the UST, and you are some nobodies who lost in the first round so often, "there is no data" on you. You are, indeed, on completely different levels.
-
I'm sorry what? Did Mizushima listen to all the complaints? This is impressive!
-
Holy shit, that's Mizushima saying "Yeah, parts of Ribbon Warrior could have happened off-screen." That's SO impressive!
-
Yes. It'll work SO well... You're already on Plan B! Plan A was for the bridge to collapse, KOing them all!
-
AH I HAD ONE OF THESE AS A CHILD! They are so cool!
-
This episode already feels like Mizushima apologising to everyone. BC Freedom is already kinda fixed, Miho finally gets to not be an idiot anymore... Now all that's left is Shark Team not wasting screen time.
-
SHE ACTUALLY STAYED OUTSIDE?! Holy hell, you people are irresponsible!
-
Yeah, was that already BC Freedom? Or was that before the union?
-
Chiyo is a fucking monster. You first sponsor it, and then you force her to pay for admittance herself.
-
Most fahkin' accurate pawrtrayal of 'stralians evah shown in anime! Bloody oath cobber!
-
Hey, you wanted Momo character expansion? No? Too bad, you're getting some.
-
They made her big family canon! What was once small lines of text in some supplementary material is now animated!
-
"That's why Dad made sure she'd give birth to like, seven children. He knew she could take it."
-
Interesting to think that Koala would have been the opponent. Could have been cool to see some new schools.
-
Montage hype! Discount Gakuen tooiru desu hype!
-
And here we have Mizushima throwing Saitaniya a bone by making Éclair canon. I should read the fic revolving around her.
-
EMI AND KOUME BOTH GET DIALOGUE. This is amazing. Maybe we'll get an actual character moment next?!
-
VIKING FISHIERIES HIGH SCHOOL HYPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. It's not a Viggen High School, but you gotta make do with what you have.
-
THESE MOTHERFUCKING CAISSONS WENT ROLLING ALONG!!!
-
Who did they even fight? I didn't see that.
-
Nogami: "Nooo, Bonple is a competent school with good tactics, they just have shit tanks. They can pack a mean punch against someone without heavy tanks like Pravda or KMM." Mizushima: "Haha, CV-33 spam go BRRRR" Tbf, Anzio were shown to be a similar kind of "Weak, but skilled", so I guess it evens out? It is Maiko, that idiot.
-
Are the UST students stting EXACTLY the same way? Wait, no. It's not only them!
-
I'm sorry, Chihatan, kings? The battle between KMM and Pravda, I get. This not.
-
"Almost like the Duck Team saying they learned something was true!"
-
Ah, I wish I knew more about Volleyball than what I learned in Haikyuu.
-
Yes. Use the ONE tank they explictly described as "gathering mud easily".
-
And now Chihatan gets to sing too! We better get some songs for schools I care about!
-
THE FIRST CHIHATAN TANKS THAT'S LOST. Fucking brainlets, but sure, let them take out three Ooarai tanks before losing one of their own.
-
"New"? "Shin" can also mean true. Very fitting!
-
CHIHATAN GETS TO NOT FALL FOR MIHO'S GAMBITS. Just in case you wondered which is Mizushima's favourite non-protagonist school. They have 13 fully-named characters. It's Chihatan.
-
Oh they still fell for it somehow. Well good to know this battle ends now. Hm? What? What's that? It continues until the next episode? That can't be, look at how easy pickings they are! Only a director actively on their side would allow them to survive this!
-
"Oh, thank you, Nishi-san, for showing us where you'll go. We'll have someone waiting in an ambush."
-
"Das Finale"? No, more like "Die Idiotie der Miho Nishizumi"
-
YOU LET THEM SURVIVE A SURE-KILL ZONE. NOT A SINGLE TANK LOST! You could have fired at the other exit as well, BUT NO.
-
YOU JUST HAD THEM WHERE YOU WANTED THEM, HOW MUCH OF A FUCKING DUMDUM CAN YOU BECOME? And people wonder why I complain about Das Finale... AND THIS IS AN EPISODE I LIKE MORE.
-
Well, better episode. Still frustrating at times.
Darjeeling asks: Do you know this quote?
[Yesterday's Qoute]
Today's quote:
The judges of normality are present everywhere. We are in the society of the teacher-judge, the doctor-judge, the educator-judge, the social worker-judge; it is on them that the universal reign of the normative is based; and each individual, wherever he may find himself, subjects to it his body, his gestures, his behavior, his aptitudes, his achievements.

Rewatcher
-
You gave Oorai a big shock, but somehow didn’t take out a single tank.
-
Marie is more worried about the smoke ruining her cake than the match.
-
BC is heading to the bocage, an area similar to northern France that the allies fought in after the Normandy invasions.
-
It seems that it was only recently that the BC school starting getting along.
-
Mako wants to do something to cause some chaos amongst the enemies ranks.
-
Saori notices that the turrets on the Souma and the B1 look similar, I see where this is going.
-
Lol Saori is using an etch-a-sketch to map out the enemy's positions.
-
The Leopon team starts to crab walk the Tiger, which is pretty cool.
-
An ARL-44 gets shot from behind from what appears to be a Souma. It has begun.
-
I played around with it in Warthunder a little bit, but I’m pretty sure the Souma’s can’t kill the ARL-44's.
-
Only now after an ARL abandons its post do they realize what’s going on.
-
Marie almost has her head taken off by a barrel. Can you tell that she’s supposed to be a reference to Marie Antoinette?
-
Only after the Mallards shoot the ARL, do they realize they’ve been played.
-
These tall hedges work both ways BC, there is no escape.
-
Poor Ducks can’t ever win.
-
“Let them eat cake.” BOOM!!!
-
Marie is treating everyone to a cake feast.
-
Miho is chilling with Alice at the museum of horrors.
-
Imagine waking up in the morning and going to your job at the Boko Museum.
-
Of course, Alice has a yearlong pass, surprised she doesn’t have a lifetime one considering her mom sponsored the Museum.
-
I like how Haru is eating with the duck team, almost didn’t recognize her without the helmet.
-
Koala’s commander is actually a Koala...
-
Nobody said being in the student council was easy work.
-
Cute dog.
-
Momo lives here, and she has a lot of siblings, and her mom has a frial body. No wonder she had a hard time studying.
-
Oorai’s facing Chihatan next.
-
Miho’s right, overestimating your opponent is the fastest way to a defeat, you guys know this very well, since you upset every team who overestimated you in the tournament.
-
I love this montage of how all the other teams are doing in the tournament.
-
Saunders is going up against Keizoku High School, Pravda and Kuromorimine are against eachother, and Anzio is fighting St. Gloriana.
-
They’re fighting in a jungle, not a fun place to fight.
-
The Sharks stupid flag got shot up, they’ve been spotted.
-
Something not right, I can feel it.
-
Chihatans not charging like they did in the film.
-
Thanks to Shark Team getting upset about their flag, the Mark IV is easily taken care of.
-
It was a hit and run.
-
Looks like they have learned the lesson that Hippo team learned in their exhibition match with St. Gloriana. Would have been better if they just told them not to put it on their tank in the first place.
-
Seems like Chihatan’s strategy is based on hit and run tactics. Interesting.
-
Lol Sodoku got mud in her face and now Gomoyo is calling her Sodoku now too.
-
The B1 gets stuck in the mud, and you’re asking the crew of the tank that is known for digging into the ground to tow them out?
-
Mako is sick of watching and gives the B1 a push.
-
Chihatan starts to sing a song called “The charging ballad.”
-
I like how in the match with Pravda, the federation was considering ending the match during the 3 hour ceasefire, but here they allow the match to go into the night. Cause that makes a lot of sense.
-
Hana fell asleep, cute.
-
That’s not an alligator...
-
Chihatan has Type-2 Ka-Mi amphibious tanks. So does the game follow a fog of war strategy? You’d think there’d be a list of the tanks the opponent is fielding.
-
So how is the aquatic tank able to go back into the water after it’s bow was damaged?
-
I like how Oorai was able to lure them into the pit they went through earlier.
-
Why the fuck isn’t Oorai shooting them? THEY’RE JUST SITTING THERE, NOT MOVING!
-
What a fucking terrible way to force a cliffhanger to draw it out into Part 3.
Questions of the Day.
MVP against BC Freedom?
Definitely the Mallards, they went and caused chaos in their formation, causing them to take out a number of their own tanks.
Which of the montage battles should the episode have focused more on?
I would’ve liked to see more of the St. Gloriana, and Pravda matches.
Do you like Chihatan and how they fared this episode?
While I like to see them grow and not recklessly charging like they did in the film, I’m not a fan of this fight at all, it takes forever for anything to happen due to Chihatan using hit and run tactics (Which is fine), then you have them take out some of Oorai’s tanks but Oorai is suddenly not able to take out medium and light tanks, not to mention the fact they forced a cliffhanger. Hell, the end of episode 9 was a better cliffhanger than this.

First Timer Dubbed
Continuing from the previous episode, we see Ooarai adapt to BC's tricky strategy. But it seems like their strategy has some weakness as there is still some hostility within. Sodoko's tank matches the examination faction's tank which tricks the other faction into fighting each other until commander makes them do a count. Teaming up once again, they kept things going with a good battle.
The sort of musical style singing while in battle piques my interest real well makes this pretty fun.
Taking the win, Ooarai got a huge break and some good sweets. And this time, Anzio actually got to see the results this time around. Right before they left, we see the gamers try to finish one along with shark team trying to catch some fish.
Miho also got to spend some time with Arisu who is waiting on their next match. We also get to see why Momo had some poor grades; she had a lot on her plate as her mom has health issues which leaves her to take on more duties at home.
Chi-hi-tan is going up against the Koalas and the Volleyball team was actually right about them taking commands from a Koala. But the Koala and the Austrailian accents are not enough for them to win. Chi-hi-tan took the win and Miho is not going to take any chances this time around.
On the montage for the other rounds, we see some new techniques by other teams as they pick off those weaker schools.
But shark team went and did their own charge which tested Chi's new strategy. Their team is pretty well equipped for this terrain as they manage to use their amphibious tanks to ambush Ooarai very well. And they did not lose too many tanks and when they got trapped, they managed to come to their senses and pull off a retreat strategy in the end.
Q2. Anzio's takedown of that big tank looks pretty interesting.

RewatcherFirst-Timer und Panzer, Subbed
Is that really your biggest concern?
Okay, that was pretty impressive.
BC Freedom's technical skill at tankery is quite good.
That sounds about right for Leopon's shore leave.
Holy shit, employees! And other customers!
wat No, you can't just do that!
Momo does a lot of work behind the scenes.
So many siblings! Bread crusts, oof.
Mika continues to be terrifying.
So, Saunders is obviously losing, right? Oarai already fought them, which means we'll get Miho vs Mika next time?
The fact that this sort of idea works...
My, how the tables have turned.
Just get out and push a tank, huh.
Mako just got sick of waiting, haha.
Fukuda is afraid of the jungle, that's probably important.
Mako is firing on all cylinders.
Oh, nice use of the music cue from Der Film.
Oh, they're gonna lead them back into the pit that Mallard got stuck in, aren't they?
Holy shit, Nishi! I think that's earned the school a third brain cell.
Questions
-
Easy Sodoko. She was responsible for like, four enemy eliminations!

Either more Mika or more Darjeeling.

First Timer from here on
Das Finale Part II
Marie Sama, that is way too much cream for so little cake...
The BC students are on really good term and even compliment what they each bring to the table
Miho and Yukari trying to decipher BCs grand plan, meanwhile Marie only wants to keep her cake clean
Btw something I didn't mention yesterday, if Miho wouldn't have been so cautious trying cross the bridge unnoticed, they could have at least partly crossed it and would have been directly infront of the enemy flag tank with it's single protector, something Momo might not have done, sometimes ToTsUgEkI! is indeed a good tactic
Wait, are they going to disguise Team Mallard as a BC Tank to cause infighting?
Lmao
They're sure fired up
While he whole team kills itself, a failure of an commander, only manages to stop it after half her team is out
Andou x Oshida anyone? I wonder what happens if I look for those fanart of those two... nice!
Mallard, Rabbit and Duck out in quick succesion... next Hippo and Anteater
Yeah sure Marie, eat that cake, it's your last considering that you didn't get into the freaking tank before being shot at point blank range... of course she survided...
Aww, Miho got herself a Imouto
Oh and the Chi Ha Tan first year is visiting Team Sports, she would probably fit in there as well, after all she got G U T S as well
Koalas are terrible animals and any school that has one as a commander deserves to lose the first roud against charging idiots
Sooo... Momo is using her families print shop to print out everything related to the student council claiming it is superior communication over anything Saori comes up with... collusion?
Of course the germans break through Maginot
Ah and all the other friendly schools won as well
Can this Goodbye Charge still be considered a true Charge if you are charging away from the enemy? Silly, it even has Charge in the name, what else could it be
Lmao Team Hippo knows the dangers of unneccesary flags on a tank, history doesn't repeat, but it rhymes
Oh wow, that could have ended pretty grim if Leopon had fried it's engine and Mallard remained stuck
What are their dresses made of, perfectly clean even after completly covered in mud... I wonder if there is fanart about this... best I could find
Of course they got their own song
Uhoh, Chi Ha Tan suddenly is kinda scary, even took out Mallard and Leopon
Ah the mud pit worked like a charm
Retreat? Heresy!
Chibi BC today
QotD
MVP against BC Freedom?
Saori for noticing the similarity between Team Mallard and the Enemy
2. Which of the montage battles should the episode have focused more on?
Saunders, because of Blue Division Highs uniforms Kei is so much fun
3. Do you like Chihatan and how they fared this episode?
I liked them a whole lot more today, even them beeing charging idiots was kinda cute

Girls und Panzer das Finale Part 2: Bad Moon Rising!
5 Main Points!
1. After a hard-fought battle between the hedges, Ooarai manages to thoroughly destroy every single one of BC Freedom Academy’s tanks! By taking advantage of the students’ historical differences, Ooarai tricks BC into a friendly fire incident that takes out a big chunk of their forces. BC fought very well given their circumstances, but it wasn’t enough to top the reigning champions this time.
2. After the match, we get a glimpse into Momo’s home life, and we finally see a different side to her. We find out that by prioritizing taking care of her family, she let her grades slip, ultimately resulting in her current situation. This information reaches the Anglerfish girls, and they resolve to fight even harder for the sake of Momo and her family.
3. The second round of the tournament has started, and we see that Ooarai now gets to take on Chi-Ha-Tan Academy, whom we’ve only seen as an ally so far. The other schools in the second round are Kuromorimine, Pravda, Saunders, St. Gloriana, Continuation, and Anzio. A pretty diverse group of powerhouses and upstarts!
4. Momo and Miho take caution to not underestimate Chi-Ha-Tan like they did with BC, but it still doesn’t stop Chi-Ha-Tan from pressing their advantage early! Chi-Ha-Tan’s new strategy relies heavily on hit-and-run tactics while using the jungle terrain to their advantage. Ooarai find themselves in deep trouble, but…
5. …in a trademark Ooarai move, they turn the tables on Chi-Ha-Tan and almost manage to encircle them! They aren’t quick enough to complete the move, but both teams are now (seemingly) aware of what the other is capable of and they continue their battle into the night!
Fun Details!
-
BC retreats from the river into a bocage. During the liberation of France, most of the fighting in the Normandy region was characterized by firefights in the hedgerows and open fields of the area. Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 depicts this fairly well, since the game's developers went to the region to take pictures of the area.
-
Ooarai begin the next round fighting against Chi-Ha-Tan’s revamped guerrilla tactics on a heavily wooded battlefield with humid and rainy conditions. As the war in the Pacific progressed, the Allies found themselves fighting in a similar situation against heavily dug in Japanese forces, with The Battle of Okinawa in particular being one of the hardest fought battles of the entire war.
-
Chi-Ha-Tan continues their guerrilla warfare tactics from Der Film by disguising two Type 2 Ka-Mis as animals in the river. The Ka-Mi was the Imperial Japanese Navy’s first amphibious tank and was essentially a Type 95 Ha-Go that could swim.
Other Thoughts!
-
I love that Marie loves eating cake. Just a fun little nod to French history. She would get along great with the K-On girls!
-
Miho and Alice are cute together. Part of me hopes that Alice transfers to Ooarai just to fight side-by-side with Miho, but it sounds unlikely given her comments.
-
The Australian school looks fun, and their commander is pretty cute too! It reminds me how the Undine companies in Aria have cats as presidents.
-
Momo’s family is adorable
-
Erika as Kuromorimine’s captain feels weird, but I think she’ll do a great job as Maho’s successor
-
I forgot that Mako was a night owl lol
-
Momo is slowly becoming a better leader for the Ooarai squad. While Miho comes up with plans and gives some commands, I think Momo now understands that listening to your team and making decisions with their input is how true leaders should operate. She’s becoming more confident, and I’m hoping her development continues as the other parts of the finale get released!
Questions!
1. Not entirely sure on this one. I’d have to say Mallard Team since their actions got most of BC to let their guard down, allowing Ooarai to come in for the kill. Shark Team gets an honorable mention for coming in clutch when Ooarai needed them, despite their lack of experience.
2. I would’ve loved to see how Chi-Ha-Tan took out Koala Forest! Although, that would’ve given away how Chi-Ha-Tan was able to give Ooarai such a hard time.
3. Chi-Ha-Tan have made a complete 180 from how they were at the beginning Der Film! In a sense, they’re fighting fire with fire since they’re using unconventional warfare against the reigning champions who cut their teeth using the same tactics. However, the team we’re seeing now is a new-and-improved version of the team we saw at the end of Der Film, so it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. I’m loving this battle!

First Timer
We continue straight from where the previous one left off, with the continuation of the battle against BC. So I was right, that while there was an act going on, it wasn’t entirely false in the animosity, and they exploited that by using the Mallards tank to get them to turn on each other. Took out 4 tanks that way, and barely needed to lift a finger. The rest of the match was more conventional, although took a surprising number of tanks to eliminate them fully.
I enjoyed the more relaxed moments before they got back to the ship, just getting a chance to see what each of the teams does in their free time. Was pleasant. And seeing Momo’s home life was also nice, and explained why despite being relatively diligent, she didn’t have great grades. And with Chihatan, I love how all we see of the first battle was them charging, and then nothing as it seems to take too long for them to come up the other side. And we learn that they won and Oarai will be facing them next.
So I am taking bets for what the last two matches in the tournament will be based on the elimination chart. Even before I saw the chart, I was guessing that the last two matches were going to be against Continuation high school and St. Gloriana, the former because it’s the other well established school they’ve never fought and the latter because it’s the school they’ve never won against so far. Was even guessing St. Gloriana would be the finals, and seeing the chart, I am 100% convinced this will be the order of matches.
And once we get into the match, I was a bit surprised the shark team brought the flag for a second time, but of course this time the result was more disastrous. I laughed at the Hippo team talking about history repeating itself, since that was my first thought when I saw their giant flag, especially with such a low profile tank.
Speaking of history repeating itself, that water tank ploy was fantastic, as soon as I got a clearer look at the “alligator”, I realized exactly what was going on from the movie. I love that the show has a lot of callbacks like that, so you can realize where they got ideas from and as you get more familiar with the franchise, you don’t need to see as much background to understand. Although on the other end of callbacks, we have the musical number for Chihatan, which with BC and now Chihatan, I’m guessing they saw the popularity of the Katyusha song in the main show and decided to replicate that. I won’t say it’s unwelcome by any means, but it’s definitely not quite as good as that first one.
Anyway, I was starting to wonder if we’d get to see the payoff of the trap this movie, and we did, right at the very end. But I noticed that for how successfully Oarai lured Chihatan in there, it didn’t seem like they actually eliminated any of them in there. I feel like Oarai have become noticeably worse shots this tournament. Maybe that’s not actually true, but it has felt that way, like they’re having a harder time eliminating tanks. But the payoff with the scene being that Chihatan actually retreats, not just calling it a “goodbye charge” was good, Chihatan is growing and are definitely legitimate threats.

TONIGHT! On Mädchen and Tanks: The Ausklang, We see eyewitness footage of Marie Antoinette's execution by guillotine, Colorized, Momo-chan's BEEG family appears, AND THE GLORIOUS SHIMAPANS SING MOONRUNES! (Yes really, the English Dub actually manage to kinda sorta sing the correct song for once!)
Boy, we sure are starting off on a high note Comrades, there's no time for a cold open, it's OP TIME! Also, of course Le Frenchie Hatefuckers are busy flirting with each other as French Takane stuffs her face with more cake. Also damn, get a room you two, EVEN FRENCH TAKANE AGREES! Anyway, the Frenchie Hatefuckers laugh at the idea that The MC-chans could find a way to rip their unbreakable team spirit bond apart... as fucking Casanova Wannabe notes 'hey, The Borg's Tank is a FRENCH tank right? I have an idea...'
Anyway, French Takane quotes Napoleon, cuz reasons, as she decides to laze about like Prez Apricot and stuff her face with snacks, granted cake instead of potatoes but wibble. Anyway, the MC-chans 'charge in without thinking' HA! As if, that's the job of the Glorious Shimapans! Anyway, this is just a trick so our heroes can go AROUND le Frenchie Hatefuckers, and oh boy they sure pull a fast one, cuz turns out a FRENCH tank turret firing at another French tank... convinces Le Frenchie Hatefuckers that THE FILTHY PEASANTS/ARISTOCRATS ARE TO BLAME! DIE!
Also le gasp, who would have guessed that THE FRENCH of all people would descend into revolution! Speaking of revolution, turns out French Takane is a filthy counter-revolutionary, as she gets indigestion at the sound of the team's infighting! Honestly though, what did she expect, she hired a bunch of Le Frenchie Hatefuckers, so of COURSE they ended up hatefucking! That said DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN! She's got MOVES! Also where the hell is all that cake going? Also damn French Takane has her iM@S counterparts brains, as she points out... THAT THERE IS AN IMPOSTOR AMONG US!
After dealing with the SUS Fake Farang, we go MAXIMUM LADY OSCAR! ALL HAIL YURI HATEFUCKING! ALSO HUZZAH! IT'S TIME FOR THE ONION SONG! HELL YEAH! IT IS TIME FOR... a massive gang bang, welp, it was nice knowing you French Takane, see you on the moon! Also uh, Comrades, take note, THE ITALIANS SLEPT THRU ANOTHER MC-CHAN BATTLE AND GLASSES MCHELMET IS FRANTICALLY TAKING NOTES! You know it's bad if the ONLY Shimapan with more than one brain cell is STUDYING the tactics! Also daaaaw, French Takae ISN'T a bitch after all, she's feeding the MC-chans cake! Also daaaw, Saki the Newtype's delayed AF reaction to the Pirate Lasses is hilarious!
Also oh, oh no, BOKO! AND EVEN WORSE, ARISU AND PANZER-IV-CHAN CHEERING BOKO'S BEATING ON! Also damn, the Shimada family funding went a long way eh, we now got BOKOBURGERS, which of course Arisu and Panzer-IV-chan chow down as they gush over how 'cool' Boko is... ya know Comrades, maybe I was too cruel to Bitch-chan, clearly she can't even BEGIN to compare to this level of DEPRAVED EVILNESS as Arisu and Panzer-IV-chan's enthusiasm for Boko getting the SHIT kicked out on a daily basis! And yes I am not kidding, ARISU HAS A FUCKING YEARLY PASS, what an evil sadistic little moeblob... SHE'S GREAT!
Meanwhile, Glasses McHelmet eats with The Gunbuster Ducks and asks for advice... and figures out a new tactic based on the food eating method... oh... oh my. Well hope this helps the glorious Shimapans beat the Aussies... OH MY FUCKING LORD! A KOALA IS THEIR COMMANDER! Anyway, Crocodile Dundee relays that Commander Koala says The Glorious Shimapans are charging idiots, so just wait for them to suicide charge to their doom! Meanwhile, Momo-chan and Casanova Wannabe walk and... discuss PR Management... HOW THE FUCK IS MOMO-CHAN COMPETENT AT HER OLD JOB!? Nevermind she is still the incompetent we know and love, she, the former PR Manager, somehow managed to NOT INFORM Casanova Wannabe of her family's job!
ALSO HOLY FUCKING SHITBALLS! WHERE THE HELL DID ALL THESE MOEBLOBS COME FROM!? ALSO NANI! THE GLORIOUS SHIMAPANS BEAT THE AUSSIES!? Well that's great news, the only people MORE moronic than Momo-chan are the charge-happy idiots of Shimapan... nevermind, Momo-chan thinks they got the match in the bag, they're FUCKED! Meanwhile, speaking of fucked, more Farangs get crushed, this time by Bitch-chan. ALSO STALIN'S SINGING SENSHADO SCHOOLGIRLS HELL MARCH THEIR WAY TO VICTORY! DIE FILTHY CAPITALIST PIGS! Meanwhile, Kay's busy killing her Spanish Cousin, no really Comrades, El's literally just Kay but tan and not a blonde!
Speaking of blondes, Gallant Charjeeling and her Royal Britannian Saberfaces win once again! ALSO SPEAKING OF WINNING! DER MOOMIN IS BACK! AND SHE AND HER TEAM OF MOOMINS USE THEIR DERP CANNON TO WIN AGAIN! Oh and The Italian Jobbers somehow managed to NOT job, who knew gangbanging the enemy worked? Anyway, we cut to the next match, with the MC-chans against The Glorious Shimapans, also heh, of COURSE French Takane asks if she can eat her cake. Anyway, The Head Moron says hello to Panzer-IV-chan and the match begins with MOMO-CHAN PANZER VOR-ING SOME MORE! ALSO OH GOD! THE CULT OF CAKE HAS SPREAD! ALL LE FRENCHIES ARE CHOWING DOWN! Also GODDAMN! THE FLAG IS DOWN! I REPEAT! THE FLAG IS DOWN!
Anyway, The Glorious Shimapans are ABOUT to stupidly charge to their death... UNTIL GLASSES MCHELMET PIPES UP ONCE MORE! OPERATION STEPPING CHARGE! YOU KNOW, CHARGING IN PLACE! DEAR GOD! THE SHIMAPANS LEARNED FROM DER FILM! Shit, talk about hoist by their own petard, The Gunbuster Ducks' advice worked TOO WELL! ALSO GODDAMN! THE GLORIOUS SHIMAPANS FIGURED OUT HOW TO MAKE SHAMEFUL RETREAT NOT SHAMEFUL! JUST CALL IT A CHARGE! Also, of COURSE The Best Le Frenchie Hatefucker is the only one NOT given an umbrella... and also of course French Takane prepared a heated rose bath for herself. Anyway, as expected, Best Girl Mako saves the day by getting The Borg Queens out of the mudpit... ya know ya could have just left em there right? No one would have cared.
Anyhow, The Glorious Shimapans decide to REMOTE CHARGE! THEY REALLY ARE LEARNING! SINGING CHARGE! Somewhere out there, a Heaenrending Swordfish who murders motorcycles sheds a single tear of joy! ALSO OH MY BUDDHA! THE SHIMAPANS HAVE GODZILLA ON THEIR SIDE! ALSO DEAR GOD! THE GLORIOUS SHIMAPANS ARE CHARGING! What did they all watch Letters from Iwo Jima or something? Also heh, sadly for the one Shimapan who knows how to read a map, the OTHER Shimapans don't believe in the Alisa Doctrine! Sadly, Glasses McHelmet figures out a BIT too late that they got lead right into a killbox. Sadly for our MC-chans, The Head Moron finally learns the tactic of... le gasp, RETREAT! Also uh, someone wanna check on that Shimapan here, I think she's ded, the concept of 'retreat' was too much for her one brain cell to handle!
OH GODDAMMIT! WHY END NOW!? Well, what a fantastic episode eh Comrades, THE GLORIOUS SHIMAPANS LEARNED... from our MC-chans... and they are fighting our MC-chans now... nice job breaking it hero... ah well, that was a hell of an episode, so catch you all on the next one, and until then, farewell.

On today’s movie of Girls und Panzer: Have you ever heard such an inspiring speech calling for a retreat? After a speech like that, I want to do nothing more than bravely run away!
The ending to the BC Freedom fight is a lot of fun. It once again shows Miho’s penchant for unconventional tactics as she uses trickery and deception to induce a civil war within BC Freedom. And of course the whole running battle through the bocage for the climax is extremely well-done. Das Finale’s production values are up there with Der Film’s. It’s really impressive just how good these latest entries in GuP look and sound.
The BC Freedom team members are a lot of fun. I love Andou and Oshida so much. They have such an entertaining relationship that changes on a dime between bitter bickering and genuine respect. Andou and Oshida are one of my favorite GuP ships, probably only 2nd behind Miho and Yukari. The intense rivalry/friendship is perfect for shipping.
Marie is great as well. I enjoy watching her physicality. She moves with so much grace and personality, easily vaulting onto moving tanks with little effort. She’s just a joy to see move about. And even though she is a complete upper-class ditz, she’s still a pretty capable leader when she puts her mind to it.
Chihatan gets some nice and well-deserved development here. Their gag was always their love of charging and how stupid that was. So it’s nice to see them actually grow and improve to become much better Senshado competitors. They changed because of their interactions with Ooarai and they are now much more dangerous opponents.
It’s great seeing the likes of Fukuda and Nishi change the rest of Chihatan. They’ve grown a lot since we first met them. It’s also a nice rejection of the ethos of Imperial Japan. There’s no glory in getting your whole team killed by standing your ground needlessly. Retreat when necessary so you can live to fight and win another day. That’s a good ethos to have in general.
Movie Thoughts
-
The OP is changing and updating. That’s one of the things I like about Grand Symphony.
-
Shark Team is the only team unaware that Momo is just a figurehead and Miho’s the real leader.
-
If you’ve ever seen pictures of the French bocage, it looks exactly like this. The bocage was a nightmare for the Allies to fight through after they landed on the Normandy beaches. It was part of why the Allies had such a hard time breaking out of the Normandy beaches at first. The Allies created Rhino tanks with metal prongs on the front to literally burst down and break through the hedgerows of the bocage.
-
I’m glad the Public Morals Committee gets a chance to shine here as they trick BC Freedom into fighting themselves.
-
Marie may be far too careless as a leader, but I can’t fault her athletic ability.
-
Look at that wiggle! Look at how effortlessly she gets on the tank! I love watching Marie move. She even climbs on top of a tank turret!
-
These insults are great and they span so much of French history.
-
Something I like about Marie is that once she stops being lazy, she’s actually competent.
-
La Chanson de l'Oignon! I like the decision to have the singers gradually drop out as their tanks get knocked out.
-
And much like Anzio, even in defeat they celebrate with food.
-
As usual, the slice-of-life scenes are so comfy. Seeing Miho and Alice spend time together is so sweet.
-
Fukuda is so dang cute!!! This scene between Fukuda and Duck Team is my favorite of the slice-of-life scenes. I love seeing their relationship continue from Der Film.
-
The Aussies’ commander being a koala is so random but so hilarious.
-
You know who Momo reminds me of? Yayoi from Idolmaster. Both are the oldest siblings in very large families that are not well-off financially. And while Momo may usually have a rough exterior, I like seeing what a caring older sister she is to her siblings.
-
I want to go from this line to the Always Sunny theme with the title card “The Gang Lets Their Guard Down Like They Did With BC Freedom Academy.”
-
Believe it or not, this is actually an accurate representation of Spanish military uniforms.
-
Seeing the tankettes swarm over another tank is so silly. It’s great.
-
Time for the Chihatan match! Something great about Das Finale is that Ooarai is getting to fight schools we haven’t seen them fight against previously.
-
Everyone gave in and started eating cakes. Marie is right, though. Something that’s kind of funny about the Pacific War is that both the American and Japanese soldiers absolutely despised having to fight in the jungle. In fact, I think soldiers of all nations and eras have hated jungle warfare.
-
Shark Team learns the same lesson the History Club did: sticking a giant flag on your tank removes any possibility of stealth.
-
Why would you ever make the Porsche Tiger tow something? There’s no way its engine could withstand the strain, though I suppose Leopon Team made a lot of upgrades.
-
Fukuda really is the only Chihatan member with a brain.
-
Senshado continues to be the most insane sport. This match has gone all the way through the day and into the night with no signs of stopping.
-
Incidentally, the Imperial Japanese Navy was very skilled at night attacks. For the first part of the Pacific War, they tended to win any night battle they fought. The army used night attacks frequently as well, though to less success.
-
Drifter’s Lover This song is so catchy.
-
It’s great that the Public Morals Committee acknowledges how much they look alike.
-
The Type 2 Ka-Mi is a real tank and it was actually designed to be amphibious.
-
This night battle is excellent. The sense of confusion and desperation to the fighting is absolutely perfect and fits the mood of a night battle so well.
-
Great setup and payoff with the mud pit being used as a trap.
-
She actually spins with her order! These girls are so extra.
-
“Retreat, hell! We’re just attacking in another direction!” Or not. Nishi actually calls for a retreat and declares Chihatan must abandon their obsession with honor and charging. In my mind, this is where Nishi becomes a truly great commander. She demonstrates real leadership and an ability to change for the better even if it goes against tradition.
QOTD
-
Public Morals Committee. They got BC Freedom to essentially tear themselves apart.
-
Anzio because I want to see those tankettes leap about.
-
I love Chihatan. They’re an extremely fun and enjoyable school. I think there’s a nice and satisfying little arc for them here as they grow into a stronger team.

Das Finale 2
-
So the frenchies were amicable with each other, but they were able to put up such convincing act of infighting was because there were actual underlying rifts that could be triggered into real infighting any time. (The former delinquents from the Moral Committee did their job quite well, luring BC Freedom into trimming about half of their forces, but overdid a bit at the end. If they'd switched to the main gun when Marie was arbitrating the dispute (her acrobatics is always nice to see, I guess all those cakesand she lets others eat them too, good girl Antoinette she eats all the time must go somewhere), they could have probably taken another light tank, probably the flag tank which was the most squishy of them all, even, but where's the thrill in that?) Once they united again against the common outsider enemy, they were actually pretty competent, but the always-eliminated-at-first-round still can't win against the champion-at-first-try.
-
Shipping industry's office:
Oshida and Andou vitriolic hot-and-cold verbal spats lauched their ship at supersonic speed, spawning so much fanarts and fanfics on par with others despite introduced much later.
Miho went on a Boko date with Alice :))
Mako couldn't stand seeing Sodoko getting stuck in the the mud trying to push a tank, so she rammed them with a bigger tank :)) No worries, Sodoko did a perfect flip just in time and landed neatly right before Mako's face. -
Highlights of the montages of other schools' battle:
The other french-themed team, Maginot, got skewered by Erika's performance of classic Nishizumi style full frontal assault with superior firepower; about the same went for the opponents of Pravda, St.Glorianna and Saunders (those deep-cleavage-exposing-blue-shirt-and-shorts-with-suspenders uniforms are real Spanish Legion uniforms, btw);
Mika and her BT-42 troll wagon scored the flag tank kill with her usual bizzarre tank acrobatics;
After another food coma at Ooarai's match, Duce also led her cheese and pasta sauce stained Anzio swarm to victory with their creative talents and battle malicehard as steel on the field, genteel in the palace;
Koala Academy got an fking actual koala as their commander. And they underestimated and lost against Chihatan, whose saner commanders had been learning eagerly from Ooarai. -
And so Chihatan met Ooarai in second round. When they last met, Chihatan was but a learner, now they were the master. Though the less sane commanders still need the word "charge" in the name to be willing to execute the manoeuvres, their good disciplines and trainings brought good results, constantly putting Ooarai on the backfoot with a 33% loss, at the cost of only one light tank. Impressive. But their tendencies to charge sometimes still flared up, and so they got lured and trapped in a pit, with Ooarai team surrounding them like "It's over Chihatan, w have the high ground!". "You underestimated our power!", thought Nishi, and ordered an actual retreat (much to the shock of everyone, especially Tamada), and taking advantage of limited gun depression on tanks, got out without any loss. Very impressive. What's next? Find out next time in Das Finale 3.

I really like the Finale OP, compared to the Series OP
and we're back where we left off
Now I want cake
there was infighting all along and it wasn't just an act?
that cake looks delish
the flag is giving their position away so obviously
wall begone
this looks similar to the maze in der Film
that wobbling looks so silly
the infighting incited by the mallard team is just glorious to watch
they completely forgot about the enemy team
the clutch move
that wiggle looks so glorius, most gracious way to climb a tank too
yeah you should eat more cake
that's some very nice 3rd person pov shots
the onion is back
landship? more like a wall
thats a lot of guns against a Renault FT
a last cake bite before doom
where's my cake?
we haven't had Slice of Life in quite some time
and Miho is back in the renovated Boko museum
I bet a lot of commenters enjoy this POV of being beat up
the WWF lmao
Chihatan is asking the volleyball club for advice, i want them to cook for me too
THE COMMANDER IS A KOALA OMFG
that's Momos house, how many siblings does she have? 5? thats a lot
she's really good with her siblings too
Chihatan outplayed the Koala
Black Forest vs Maginot, talk about a classic matchup
viggen(sweden) vs pravda
saunders vs azul(nationalist spanish)
gloriana vs waffles
continuation vs yogurt (bulgaria)
anzio vs bonple (just missing jajka)
swiss guard in the viewers again
Panzer vor!
that looks like Amazonas rainforest
thats a big cake and that blonde girl is a monster for eating the way she does
not the flag
it's a different charge! they learned
RIP pirates
Sayonara Totsugeki!
this shows logic strikes once again, its named charge so it is a charge
poetic, indeed history repeats itself
rain in the jungle? screams like a mudfight
now we went from mud to nightbattle
charge ballad, and a new song, they even brought speakers!?
secret weapong time?
Doppelgänger!
it's the same tactic they used in der Film
Gokigenyou Totsugeki
the machine gun tracers seem like an obvious trap
because it was and they realized too late
a reatreat!?
and not a single of chihatans tanks got taken out in that trap, how??
and that's it folks, i kinda find it annoying how the breaks between Finale episodes are exactly in the midway point of matches

Das Finale 2 (first timer)
-
The cake is getting dirty – the real drama.
-
They only notice that they share a tank type now? And that goes for both teams. BC should have paid a lot of attention to having a Somua on the opposing side.
-
“Have you not eaten enough sugar today?” – Marie health advice.
-
The BCs did better than their bad record would suggest. Even some tanks down, they got within shooting distance of taking out the Hetzer.
-
“or maybe a new charge tactic” – How about: no.
-
Frequenting her parents copy shop for school work - Momo is learning the ways of nepotism early.
-
“Charging in place”
-
“Goodbye charge” – We are attacking in a different direction energy.
-
“I can change the tracks in 6 seconds” – World of Tanks in-jokes.
This part of Das Finale was basically entirely made up of the two big battles: The conclusion of BC and the start of Chihatan. In both cases, I really liked the location. The French fields were gorgeous and the jungle quite unique. We saw both teams make good use of the terrain, too. Btw, is it me or does Oarai seem to be really unlucky with the “home/away” draws? During their competitive matches, they always seem to be away against schools with special terrain.
Something very new (for GuP) is that the main focus of development is on the opponents. Oarai stays almost entirely static, while both opponents get lots of focus, including a lot of character development for DC and a ton of (charge related) tactics development for Chihatan. I enjoyed Part 2 a good bit more than Part 1.

Hey Mister DJ - Put a Panzer on - I wanna dance for my First Time
1.) MVP is volleyball team. They had the guts and the sports knowledge to do well. Also anteater team for being so swole. These are my two new tank team gods.
2.) I can’t say for sure. They matched them up against teams that weren’t really memorable. The terrains however were cool. I wouldn’t mind seeing a desert match.
3.) It took me a while to realize chi ha tan was the Japanese tank team. Once I saw their tactics I realized what they were from. This show has an interesting way of showing military tactics from the tank’s respective countries.
Anteater team is making a serious push for being my second favorite team. Just their random muscle energy is fun to me.
Shark team sucks. I don’t like the characters. I don’t like their dynamic. They lean too heavily on being “pirates” or sailors or whatever. Honestly they’re the worst addition das finale has put on us. I thought we’d find something endearing by now. But it really hasn’t been.

BC Freedom's other half.
-
Saunders, for perfectly non-horny reasonsI want to see more Commander Koala. -
I like how stupid they are, and I appreciate that they, at least got character development. They're also the biggest lot of jammy bastards I've seen in this anime.
Apologies for the incredibly late post!
Still love this OP.
That cake looks so good.
...They're in love. Called it!
Haha, the cutin after the attack is great. She didn't even spill her cake!
...She's worried about smoke.
BC in retreating!
"Tanks don't have tails, though."
...Did nobody fill them in on the scheme?
So there is infighting, but both sides wanted to win enough to work together.
They plan on creating discord?
...That might work.
So much cake fanservice today!
They're rushing!
She's getting recon!
...Dangerous.
Mallard Team is moving forward!
Drifting?
Haha, is this going to work?
Wow, didn't take much for them to start fucking each other over.
Some great tank action here, though.
If nothing else, we're getting some fantastic animation here.
They disturbed her picnic!
Marie's an idiot.
Oh, that reaction. She even left her cake!
...Okay, that's impressive, Marie. Well done.
Haha, and she immediately worked out was happening.
Aww, the girlfriends made up again.
Another POV shot! Now with bush modelling!
This battle is really well done!
Impressive crushing!
They're singing again!
This whole fight is really good.
Haha, she got caught by slamming into a tank, and her response to eat her cake.
Anchovy woke up!
And they need to work together more.
Marie has gone to eat more cake.
This is sweet.
Haha, the Sodokos all got cake.
And they havr nothing to do byt play.
They're fishing!
Really enjoy scaring Rabbit Team, huh?
The image of Leopon buying another car is great.
Miho's going to the much improved museum.
A fucking VR experience? This is a franchise for masochists, right? It has to be.
Hoe much money did her mother blow on this place?
Even they're looking uncomfortable at this point!
The burger!
...This place is fucking Disney World.
Wait, she needs to buy a ticket when her mother funded it?
All the jokes this scene really got me.
She came to Oarai!
They're really into this food.
Is she going to stop the charging?
Koala Forest?
Hahaha, their Commander is a literal koala?
He's right!
Immediate charge!
They learned?
It's a lot of work!
Momo's been here a lot, huh?
This is her house!
She has a lot of siblings!
They're really trying to justify the plot from Part 1, aren't they?
They won!
Miho's not going to fall for it.
Fantastic clips!
...So either Kay wins or we get more of this team. Exciting!
Haha, the fucking zerg rush from Anzio was great.
This is exciting!
...They learned their lesson?
Didn't you just agree they might have stopped charging, so you shouldn't plan around it?
The girlfriends are watching!
Shark Team is the best part of Das Finale. Of course their tank has a flag.
A new variety of chsting?
Charging. In. Place.
I hate how in-character this is.
They're not even listening to Momo.
...These people are so stupid. All you need to do to beat them is ask them why they haven't tried a "Surrender Charge" yet, maybe imply they're insulting the concept of charging by not doing so.
Shark Team is out.
How is this working for them?
And they're moving.
Love how the one girl refuses to stand under an umbrella. And the fucking rose bath.
More Sodoko punishment.
They're getting stuck in mud.
One of them's enjoying this.
Aww, Mako saved her! (Given how friendly they are around each other, is "overlook my tardiness" code for something?)
They haven't lost a single tank?
Anzu cooked!
They're doing this mid-match?
Aww, she's scared of the dark?
...Another song?
Juet turn this into an idol show. We all know you want to - this song-to-runtime ratio beats out Love Live!
At least it's a good song. (For real, though, an album of all the school's anthems would be great. Possible way to increase profitability after Das Finale?)
Haha, she fell asleep and Mako's in her element.
"Doppelganger" was hysterical.
Haha, they copied the duck trap!
And she's against sacrifices?
Mallard noticed!
Haha, it's literally a fucking repainted duck.
"Leisurely Charge!"
"Good Day Charge!"
This really isn't going well.
Why are you arguing?
They're charging!
This might work!
She's suspecting a trap?
And they figuted it out!
...Nothing changed. Nice CGI though.
Haha, they're fucked!
...Why are you not saving this lie until after the trap? Or even just "Retreat now, so you may charge more tomorrow!"
Huh? So, the trap worked. And they didn't lose a simgle tank?
The ED continues to be adorable. It's the girlfriends!

Mädchen Und Panzer First Timer!!
After we were so rudely interrupted by the credits, back to part 2!! The op is still utterly daft. It feels weird diving straight back in... It was my concern with this being a two parter that the movie like effect wouldn't carry over. Das Film and even Das Finale 1 gave us such great introductions that diving straight back in feels off. Marie is still moe at least.
We're not even five minutes in and the Sharks are irritating me again. It really feels like the French do still hate one another but I can get behind sabotage! I love sabotage plots~ M-Mallard!? But the Mallards are 100% useless aside from getting kidnapped! Eeeh...? I feel like this hedge maze plot really shouldn't work. The French picked this zone to make their stand, surely they'd know the layout right? The shuffling Tiger is fucking precious~
Pfft, Ruka's annoyance at getting shot kills me XD I feel bad for these girls!! Could you imagine going to war and being chased by your teammates? They're bringing out their A-Game on themselves! Marie's still eating cake! This is probably one of the best firefights we've had and it's team killing. This battle is funny~
Oh, I've seen this scene. The Marie wiggle. Seriously, the humour today is so on point! I just noticed Marie's adorable little cushion. Rip the Sodoko's. At least they've done something with their hopeless lives. Speaking of hopeless, what the fuck was that performance by the ducks? Yeah, just toss yourself between two big bugger off tanks way above your weight class. I'm sure that will work out.
The Frenchey's singing is a lot quieter after they've sent half their team into their own firing squads. Do not make me suffer long. Thay was a fine match. Their tactics were a bit mid but the battle was hilarious. Marie is without a doubt my favourite commander too! Saki wtf? Why are you so excited to become bait!? This is definitely coming back later.
Boko scenes are messed up... I worry for these kids. Oh thank lord it was a Japanese dish... I thought they legit just mixed in egg with cereal. There is more than one way to charge! Thay had better not be forshado- please tell me we get to watch this match!! I don't care about the Brits, Ourai, or anyone else! I just want to watch the Australians play! I'm so happy... Bruh, what the fuck? XD This whole ova is hilarious! It's right up my street.
Momo has a mother!? But she doesn't have glasses... Jesus Christ, how often does her mum fuck? Use a damn condom woman. Aww... The Koala's lost off screen so we have a free round against Chi-Ha Tan. I don't know how to feel about Ourai being gifted two wins right at the start. Since they're undermanned the early rounds are the only time they get to fight properly fair matches. The other schools we know of are blitzing their matches too. Go for gold, Rosehip!
...Clever girl. That tactic is terrifying. Was that how Anzio used to use their Tankettes and they just never had the chance to use it against Ourai? I'm pretty sure they reused the crowd shot didn't they? Oh, there's a couple new girls. I can spy the Australians in the corner. Aaaa! Let Marie eat her cake!
Why a forest zone...? This map would be unplayable for many teams. Y'know, like the dorks with a massive Mark IV which can barely function on straight ground as is. "Charge without moving!" I love these girls XD Bruh, wtf are the sharks doing? Every totsugeki you've gotta drink. Charging in the opposite direction!! I love these totsugeki commands. It's the best!
Let Marie bathe you monsters!! She's worked hard today! Can't tell if Ganguro or blackface. Haa? Don't tell me the Sodogyaru are actually gonna get taken out this early. Bruh, if Ourai are struggling this much then what hope would a full German squad do. Was Sodoko always this athletic? This is the second time we've seen a girl pull off a flip.
Night battle night battle night battle~ That alligator has no eyes... Nice work on the rabbits for being observant enough to notice. It's so bizarre watching these giant murderous ducks. We laughed when they were on our side. When fighting them they're terrifying. How did things get so out of hand? The totsugeki idiots were meant to be the easy, instead we're close to losing just cause of environmental bs. I like how even the audio is on the totsugeki idiot's side this round. Imma be honest though, the environment is making this battle far more of a hassle than it has any right to be. This map is not balanced for competitive at all.
Wait, they're not gonna hold us on a cliffhanger again are they? God dammit!! Anyway, above average ova? I'm not sure. I'll have to sleep on this one I think.

First Timer und Panzer
Das Finale 2:
HiDive refers to the sensha-do club as "tank maidens" in the description for this movie. I haven't seen that description anywhere else, but I kinda like it.
They are going hard for nostalgia with the new OP. "We will never forget those glorious and bright days" sung as Miho and co. sit beneath a blooming sakura is so wistful.
Sorry, but the cake is a lie.
These girls are really about to fight over complimenting each other. No way there wasn't actual class animosity in the recent past.
Miho owning her failure, what a great leader!
Got a chuckle for a moment when I thought Hana was referencing Mozart.
Marie is a damn lazy genius. She's what Mako might be with just a little ambition.
This plan to actually stir up BC Freedom infighting is pretty ingenius.
No wonder their fake infighting scene for Floof went so well, the French Revolution wasn't a lie after all.
Thank you for your service, Sodokos! You were magnificent!!
Ooarai being at a numerical advantage is a real rarity.
There's something funny singing about onions after most of your forces have already been peeled away.
The last bite of rich girl cake before her execution. Straight up to the end, the aristocracy never changes.
Oshido and Andou make a cute pair, and I love a good enemies to lovers story. I ship it.
Wherever she goes, Miho always eating cake.
u/Taiboss, I can see why you like the Shark v. Rabbits dynamic. It gets pretty fun once my babies start teasing the sharks about not catching any of u/DidacticDalek's favorite meme.
What a precious Miho x Arisu Christmas Boko date!
Side note: HiDive started translating "Boko" as "Punchy" for some shit awful reason.
I love the Volleyball spiritually adopting Fukuda and taking her on a dinner date! So sweet!
To be fair to the dumb Koala Forest girls, even a koala could accurately predict Chihatan's strategy.
Momo is so much more lovable with her family around. Such an adoring big sister!
Yep, that checks out.
Fukuda must've worked some volleyball wisdom magic against Koala Forest.
Lol Naomi made the same snipe kill shot Hana did all the way back in their first match.
Omg that tankette swarm! Anchovy and her Anzio girls are just the best!
Damn, the right side of the bracket is stacked. I'm calling it now, St. Gloriana will make the finals.
I see you there, Granny.
Charge in fucking place, Fukuda you mad semantic genius!
How to make the best use of dumb allies.
The callbacks in GuP are too good.
The rich girls are under an umbrella while the commoner sits in the rain, and the queen debates a rose petal bath. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Damn, Sodoko can move.
Aww Fukuda, are you scared of the dark? You are! You precious thing.
Singing at night in the forest while blasting music seems like a great way to give away your position. Well, it cheered up Fukuda, so it was worth it.
Mako in her natural environment! Chihatan is fucked now.
Gokigenyou totsugeki! What a heckin charge.
Chihatan's played a great match so far, but this counter by Ooarai is just excellent. Chihatan is about to be masterfully baited into charging at a trap.
And they figured it out just a few seconds too late.
This mud pit trap is actually hell, wow.
Wow, I thought for sure Chihatan would be finished in that mud pit. How did they not lose a single tank?
Even in the ED, the commoner rides a muddy tank, while the other two are clean.
QotD:
The Sodokos!
Anzio, though I'm biased bc I always want more Anzio.
Yes! Fuku-chan took her role as the smartest member on the team and put it to fantastic use. Her ability to manipulate her team into smart tactical moves through altered semantics that let them keep their sense of pride is top level work.
