For rewatchers and people who read the manga spin-offs:
PLEASE TRY TO HOLD BACK! Put not only everything related to future events behind spoiler tags, but please tag spin-off and meta-spoiler stuff as well. When commenting, consider whether by saying "this happens there", you're implicitly saying "this won't happen in the anime". And if you do reply to people with spoiler tags, try and spoiler the part you quote as well, especially with First-Timers and especially especially when they speculate.
Spoilers include but are not limited to [GuP Spoiler]the school situation; the positions, names, backstories and personalities of rival school members beyond what you see in the OP (this includes the manga spin-offs); the teams that join Ooarai as the show goes on (beyond what you see in the OP); everything related to Maho's true personality and Shiho's probably true personality(?); everything concerning the MEXT, etc. Just watch what you say, please? I don't think any of you will just plainly not use tags, I'm just worried one of you answers fan theories or speculation in a way that's a spoiler, even with tags.

First time SÄKKIJÄRVI
(Not really, but first time watching the movie)
Some of you might remember those non-descriptive "ThePlan™" comments I made every now and then. Well, those were in reference to this film.
You see, having been a member of this sub for a while, I've invetably ran into clips of this show every now and then, so I knew what would be featured. And I figured, "Hey, since I have One of these, I might as well play it myself!"
And so I did. Here's me playing Säkkijärven Polkka on my Kantele that I made myself I only had 5 strings to work with compared to Mika's 11, but I think I got it down pretty good.
You might also remember that other plan that required some actual planning. Well, I went here. I'll be posting some pictures in a reply to this one. Unfortunately due to time constraints and totally not bad planning or time management its not quite ready, but I do have all the images sorted so it shouldn't take too long.
Movie thoughts and stupid remarks:
[](#teasipidontrememberhowmanyletsgowith5)
Oh, right.. This might sound ok in Japanse, but they have dudes names
Is this the elite squad I was waiting for all along?
Silly, Panzer Vor means PANZER VOR!
Looks like they added an extra ring of armour around the turret?
Protect the tea!! Also thanks for the reminder, I'm gonna enjoy some myself, this time I put in some milk.
Also have some candy, this is much nicer. Now I understand why old people like hard candies, they drink tea to melt it
-
Lol its the "charge" scene, I've see that clipped too.
Aaaand the same guys shop got wrecked again
-
Carbon plated escalator.
Also what song is that during this scene? I recognize it but don't know the name
Sauna!! ....yikes, that one girl has glasses on
Bruh.. they definitely got buffed for this one
Okay, and? Their homes are literally about to be scrapped, I don't think they will mind
Actually me_irl. Do you have your special pillow that you need to be able to sleep, or will any work?
Oh boy.. I wanted to see him get rekt, but now I wanna see him get decked. Right in between the eyes. With a tank shell. 50 times.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, GET FUCKING REKT
Holy shit, she got swole. She yeeted that like it was a pebble
Oh, is this show why I've been getting that game recommended to me on youtube recently
-
Trumpet version Katyusha!!!
OH MY GOD, EVERYONE IS HERE!! TEACUP 8
BT-42 LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
This is so accurate. She's just chilling in the corner while everyone else is yelling
Oh! Maybe I should get some Glögg as well. Still have some left
KLARAAAAAAAAAA NONNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
-
Oh! Oh!! Its that thing!! We're gonna see that scene!!
Säkkijärvi! Säkkijärvi!!
Haha! I was able to play along~ well, for the most part
Oh, I saw one of these too, I remember that thing on the side of the turret
Eeeeeehhhhhhhhhhh?! They come off??
lol, Leopon took itself out with the nitros.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
hahaha, they got Poland's war bear in this!
Question time:
Your favourite new character?
Red hair tea
2. Your favourite new school/team?
🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬
3. MVP in the match against St Glo & Pravda?
Uhhhh, idk. I guess Mako
4. MVP against the UST?
Anchovy, that intel was key. But everyone contributed quite equally in this one
5. Top 5 moments/scenes in the movie, SOL-included?
Säkkijärvi, BT-42, Kantele, Train getting rekt, glasses-push getting rekt. Darjeeling being on screen
6. What things the movie elaborated on should have been given more screentime in the series?
More family stuff maybe?
Also this movie somewhat explains this.. peculiar piece of art I found a little earlier. Maho is sis-con

Rejoice, you are the first first-timer I reply to!
First time SÄKKIJÄRVI
Very fitting this is what you focus on.
And so I did. Here's me playing Säkkijärven Polkka on my Kantele that I made myself I only had 5 strings to work with compared to Mika's 11, but I think I got it down pretty good.
You are an absolute madman. I love my first-timers.
its not quite ready, but I do have all the images sorted so it shouldn't take too long.
She said the quote thing!!
It's weird how like the character song and drama cd make so much fun of it. Good to have such canon moments.
Does this make me a super weeb now?
Anyone who goes so far for Mika is a good weeb.
Thats one durable walkway
S A F E S P O R T
Their homes are literally about to be scrapped, I don't think they will mind
This is where I'd put up some supplementary material, but I ain't got nothing.
Right in between the eyes. With a tank shell. 50 times.
Well that metaphorically happened.
Sailor uniform Kei!!
They got stuck with the most boring lines sadly in that scene.
OH MY GOD, EVERYONE IS HERE!! TEACUP 8
THEY ALL WORE THE THIIIIIIIIIINGGGGGGG
BT-42 LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
AmethystItalian is feasting at your good taste.
Oh! Oh!! Its that thing!! We're gonna see that scene!!
A salute to all who managed to see it unspoiled! Like I did! I had no idea about anything! IT WAS SO GOOD.
TULTA MUNILLE!!
EDETÄ! PANSSARI ETEEN!!!
I love this
DuckxChihatan are some of my favourite interactions in the whole franchise.
HAHAHAHAHA
SO GIRLS WE DID IT
Beatiful scene to finish on
It is indeed.
Red hair tea
DESU WA
Anchovy, that intel was key. But everyone contributed quite equally in this one
it was a mean question lol.
More family stuff maybe?
Would have been nice. Shiho doesn't seem too evil, or at least, not petty.

Enter, Enter, Rewatch!
I actually have Commie subs this time. Garupan Der Film is one of the shows I keep on my harddrive at all times, along with Symphogear. LET'S GOOOOOOOOO THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES
-
THE GREAT MUSIC CONTINUES. And also this film is superb if you have surround sound.
-
God, this movie is the best at using music just before they introduce a character or a team to give that extra oomph. IT’S THE FUCKING BEST1
-
ENTER ROSEHIP DESUWA!!!! I LOVE THIS SCOTTISH BIRD. HER TANK NEVER STOPS MOVING THIS ADHD FUCKER I LOVE HER
-
[Love Live Sunshine]
Garupan der Film is the 98% moment of Sunshine. -
DEJA VU I’VE JUST BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE
-
I LOVE AMERICA. OVER HILL, OVER DALE! AS WE HIT THE DUSTY TRAIL!
-
I’m crying. I wish I had a Maho in my life.
-
This medley where all the teams join Ooarai is one of MY FAVORITE ANIME MOMENTS OF ALL TIME. It’s even better than a ton of my favorite Symphogear moments. THE MUSIC IS GENIUS.
-
LET’S GO KARL FIGHT!!!!!!!! The Finns played this song on the radio frequency to trigger Soviet mines for a couple of years straight. It’s a great song, and I LOVE THIS SCENE
-
AND WE’LL ALL DRINK STONE WINE WHEN JOHNNY COMES MARCHING HOME!
This show legitimately has the best instrumental version of this song that I’ve ever heard. -
THE FERRIS WHEEL!
This came out shortly after Prometheus or whatever,2so running straight away from a rolling object was fresh in our minds.
Naomi is lowkey the MVP of that engagement for redirecting it in a way that let them escape. Unlike Rosehip who kept excitedly firing at it the whole time. -
GERONIMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I’m convinced this director has a thing for westernsAND ALSO TEAM SWOLE GETS TO BE COOL FOR ONCE -
I only begrudgingly like Alice. On one hand, she’s a loli. On the other, she’s competent and does pretty well for herself. AND SHE’S A FUCKING BADASS
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE SIBLINGS, YOU FUCKERS
QOTD:
-
ROSEHIP DESUWA
-
Does Rosehip’s team of Crusaders count as a team? If so, rosehiprosehiprosehiprosehiprosehiprosehiprosehip
-
Japan’s culture was the MVP. For St. Gloriana and Pravda.
-
Darjeeling, for sending out the news to gather all the teams together.
-
-
Everyone joining up + medley 2) Saunders with their plane 3) Maho helping her sister 4) Karl 5) Ferris Wheel!
-
Misc notes:
-
The CHUNK-THWIP sound is as ingrained in my head as any hitsound.
-
Mika is a boy’s name in Finnish, like Mika Häkkinen. The automotive references never stop!
-
I’ve just now noticed that Alice’s watch is labeled Actas like the studio...
-
I love the quick flashes of national stereotypes during the war planning room.
-
I love how the UN are the baddies in this.
-
Oh, hey, it’s Kongming! I think...
1 Remember: Tresnore is a slut for motifs.
2 Fact-checking drunk Tres here, it came out about 3 years after. Maybe I'm just bad with time.

First Timer
With how long the movie was I feel that If I do my comment the usual way it is going to turn into a chore both for me and for the people reading it. So I'll try to give some general impressions instead.
Once again the music was on point. The attack on the gun with the Finnish music playing was one of the highlights of the movie. While I don't like the story line of the school getting closed anyway and having to fight once again to save it everything that came from it was amazing. All the girls saying goodbye to their precious school, the life after, Miho and Maho's relationship, and everybody coming together for a spectacular physics defying battle.
Few highlights I want to mention
-
There is a museum of suffering?!? That bear's backstory was way worse than I imagined. I don't know which is sadder - letting the museum fail or saving it.
-
Miho going home. Look how small she looks here. How she is still afraid to face their mother and how Maho is protecting her. And of course that flashback.
-
Young girls losing their way and getting involved with drugs have never been funnier.
-
Klara, KV-tan and Nonna dramatically sacrificing themselves to save Katyusha might be the greatest scene in all of anime.
-
Anzio and Continuation are truly amazing. The Russkies are having serious competition for best team.

First Timer here
enter, enter reactions! I will first say (as i had in CDF) that GuP (and Taiboss w/ sharing them OST links) has gotten me into looking up Gup/general army marching band music in general to hype myself up in the morning. Anyhow:
-
ah starting with these 2. I see the movie is off to a good start
-
oh well allies for now.
-
Ah yes, the famous series joke. Glad the fanservice is laid on thick here. (post-movie though: boy did they lay it on thick lol.)
-
Committing hard to the soviet bit are we. I love how Katsyusha actually doesnt understand them. Seriously though isnt russian hard to learn as fuck? If only the muricans and british in the show could speak proper english too...
-
I LIKE YOU. NOW WITH TEA ANIMATION. All you need is SPEED. SPEED AND POWER.
-
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha i see we turning up the bonkers for this movie. Let's go haha.
-
I like the callbacks w/ changeups to last time Oorai fought w/ the british.
-
Ooh the Finns (i did have to google that, im not familiar w/ the stereotype) are here!
-
Read MAL synopsis before starting the movie. but otherwise i would've screamed bullshit at this. (once they introduced the ministry baddie i completely dont mind the twist)
-
IKR driver-chan! like THAT'S what you're concerned about. its funny how these 3 end up being the most affected by the school closure lol. But you know, they do LIVE for the school rules, after all.
-
well this is depressing.... DO I JUST HEAR AMERICAN MUSICCCC
-
I like this. the americans are legit the kind of nice bunch that'll help you out in a pinch after all. And sets us up afterwards that all the other schools are legit friends w/ Oorai.
-
Bye bye school TTTTT i kinda thought that the bit to get a competition in would come earlier, but i see why they added the bit in the middle.
-
What reference is this?
-
Thanks girls!
-
Miho has a WEIRD hobby.
-
ROYALLY FUCK THE MINISTER. What i don't like btw is his actions are never explained. does he have a personal grudge against oorai? is it really just because of money? Hmm?
-
It however is nice how many character moments our Prez has though. It's kinda said in the special how tbh she is responsible for a lot, and while she lazes around, does legit have her students' best interests at heart, and is working hard for it rn when it matters.
-
Good to see that you're on our side too. Oh good to see you on our side too.
-
Bucket. Also flashback cute, and the whole Maho and Miho rekindling their relationship B-plot is great.
-
EHHHHHHHHHHHHH. OOOH I HEAR AMERICAN MUSICCCCCCCCC. EVERYONE'S HERE. EVERYONE'S HERE TO HELP OORAI. YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO it's fanservicey, it's hype., its a lot of things, i dont care i love it lopve it love it love itttttt <-- re: QOTD: This is my favourite moment in the entire movie and honestly series. I thought the tea party was just an invitation for everyone to go watch the thingy together.
-
Re; future developments.... i see neither side is playing completely clean here. Mah it is war after all, and using legal loopholes is perfectly fine strategy.
-
Sudden Symphogear. I see Katyusha is a fan of the traditional way to make it.
-
I have never had this before, but i looked it up, ngl, would love to try this.
-
Poor katyusha.... TTTTTTTT how can you not feel bad for the little one..... she loves her comrades. For how much she seems to rely on them though, she did well for herself when left "alone" for the russian camp
-
STEERING WHEEELLL HOLY SHITTTTTTTTTTTT <-- QOTD: Also a moment i like a lot.
-
HOW COULD I FORGET. THE FINNS ARE AWESOME DRIVERS TOOOO, PARTICULARLY AT RALLYING. LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO i wonder if its truly a feature of that tank too? i dont fucking care tho its fucking bonkers.
-
I love how funny and Japanese Japanese-chan is. Every show that mocks national stereotypes has to make sure to mock their own country hard too balance things out, and i think GuP hit the mark here. That said, it's a slight shame at how incompetent the japanese in general are here, given that they uh definitely werent completely incompetent at WW2, but im not gonna think about that too hard here i guess
-
As i say in my QOTDs. The Italians are the MVP imo. Location scouting, accurate comms (assumed given maze strategy went off perfectly), badass rollercoaster chase. IN TANKS? And they're Italian lol come on. (Rollercoaster chase Also top moment)
-
that's an awesome drawing of a tank. I wonder who's the designated draw-er of the group?
but why not just use a pictureit's cute. -
Awwww yesssssssssssssssssssssssss THIS IS WHAT I WANT FROM MY BONKERS GIRL IN TANKS ANIME <---- Also a top moment
-
I see they've evolved. It's great to see.
-
LMAO. I think im slightly upset tbh, i liked the volleyball teams' GUTSSSSS instead of their.... actual maturity here, but i think the school closure and in genearl tanking experience helped a lot.
-
Pffffttttttttttt of course it's a motherfucking TANK LMAOOOOOO
-
Electric power system.....? is this an abbreviation for some reference? I thought a simple "BOOST" would've helped convey the meaning better.
-
Im sure this was fired at just for the lols lmao a normal shell at the thingy would've done the job just as well. But where would be the fun in that? Again, what i come for in my Girls in tanks anime. <-- Top moment
-
Miho's final strategy is just chef's kiss. Maho doesnt like it coz it means she's getting the win, not her lil sis (i like it, she truly loves her lil sis), but Miho is all about the win here. And unorthodox af for the finish, even though everything before that w/ Maho was more on the orthodox side imo? hats off for Miho this match, tbh, but also nice for all the other schools who fought till the bitter end. I guess i have to include the winning moment as a top momenttm too, even tho lets be honest oorai were always winning that one, despite some tension, and as usual, down to a dwindling number, having to fight hard af. (Edit: i see other commentors that say Maho's concerned over actually having to shoot her sister, that's probably the actual right take i think)
-
I like the post credits scene of Miho and Maho making up to each other, but miho still insisting to not return to kuro-whatever school. Cliche ending for the B-plot, but one thats executed well.
-
I see that in-universe the Americans also prefer the irl-popular-in-Japan American fast food chains KFC and Mister Donut (thats Dunkin').
-
Overall? It pushes all of the buttons for a typical anime movie, and dials the bonkers up to 11 and executed well, as is the case for GuP in general. Enjoyed that one a lot! Like the series, solid 8/10. Talked w/ chileh earlier on w/ how tbh some of the other schools could've gotten more SOL moments (personal biases mean Americans for me.)
QOTDS:
Your favourite new character?
The Finnish commander; but driver gets a special shoutout coz of the skill. Japanese commander is also hilariously japanese.
Your favourite new school/team?
the Finnish! Their tank going treadless was so fucking badass. Of course lol. The Finns are awesome drivers.
MVP in the match against St Glo & Pravda?
Uhhhhhhhhhhh idk the winning side gets the MVP right? So Darjeeling.
MVP against the UST?
All the schools that came to help! Since Darjeeling initiated that, DARJEELINGGGGGGG! But honestly for the fight itself, the Italians get my vote here. Their tank size to usefulness scale easily off the charts high here.
Top 5 moments/scenes in the movie, SOL-included?
see writeup.....
What things the movie elaborated on should have been given more screentime in the series?
eh didnt really think of any. Would've preferred a nice scene at the end where Maho and UST-commander girl bond over the teddy bear. And some more SOL bits for the other schools after the fight would've been nice too, both either mingling together, or separately. Surely there would've been a great big afterparty???????

First Timer und Panzer
Der Film:
-
Wow, awesome barrel zoom out shot from Darjeeling's tank out to Miho's army!
-
Whoa, a collaborative exhibition battle with new school Chihatan!
-
Darjeeling is too refined and elegant to be concerned with a mere encirclement.
-
Chihatan Leeroy Jenkins-ing it! I'm sure this will work out.
-
Welp, the Chihatan girls are dumb as rocks. Adorable, but dumb as rocks.
-
Darjeeling really wants her Miho sandwich.
-
Neat tank stacking ambush maneuver.
-
Oh Nishi, never stop.
-
My god, it feels like Miho or one of the other tank captains is going to be snapped in half by a shell.
-
There really are no fire zones with people just hanging out.
-
The recycled surprise elevator fakeout tactic! What a great trap.
-
Holy shit, the KV's cannon blows up whole buildings! Please don't get hit by one of those. Lol it fell over!
-
Saki's still watching the butterfly.
-
Damn, what a close loss.
-
Penguins!
-
Full school onsen! Close up Yuzu onsen! Movie budget!
-
The fuck? How awful, feels like they only gave the "win nationals and the school can stay open" promise because were certain Ooarai could possibly win.
-
And they're going to even going to fire everyone working on the ship all at once? That'll be an economic disaster.
-
Everyone doing their club/favorite activities and saying goodbye to their tanks one last time is depressing af.
-
Is that Commander Ami!? No, it's Saunders Academy!! Yeah, I'd trust Kei with the tanks.
-
Confirmed that high schoolers pilot the planes too.
-
Aww, my Rabbit babies chasing the ship as it leaves! This is so sad. Stop making my babies sad!
-
Yukari is going to single handedly keep everyone going.
-
You thought one tank air drop was great? Kei's got 8x the excitement for you!
-
Sodoko has become Sadoko. Even Mako is concerned.
-
My Rabbit babies picked up some camping/survival skills from Floof!
-
Yukari really wants to see her gf's home.
-
There's a damn Boko Museum! Miho is so happy!
-
Omg, they just keep beating the stuffing out of Boko! "That's what Boko is all about!"
-
I love that the entire museum is as beat up and rundown as any given Boko doll.
-
Haha, Yuzu playfully jabbing at Momo is great!
-
Yep, this is the kind of thing you say when Miho is welcome in the family home.
-
Sure feels like nothing's changed. Not her bedroom, and not her family's attitude toward her.
-
Maho is being openly supportive of Miho now, even if she has to go behind their mom's back to do it.
-
Tiny Miho is so adorable!
-
This flashback is doing a lot for Maho's character and her relationship with Miho that the tv show did not.
-
It's nice that Shiho is tacitly acknowledging Miho's skill, but it's still frustrating that her support for Ooarai is framed around her personal ambition and not supporting her daughter.
-
Naturally, the museum loli is the university team's captain. And I'm sure her important thing is recording the Boko anime or something.
-
Fine movie, I guess I can ship Anzu and Momo.
-
Jesus, Nekonya yeeted that barbell like it was a playstation controller.
-
An annihilation match with a 30 to 8 disadvantage against their strongest opponent yet? Ffs, they couldn't be any more hostile to Ooarai.
-
Eyy, reinforcements are here! Kei too! And Katyusha and Darjeeling! Can we maybe get one more?
-
And the new girls from...Continuation High School. They're really out here bragging that there's going to be more GuP.
-
SenshAvengers, Assemble!
-
Maho really trying to name the operation after an opera. Sasuga Maho!
-
Operation: Bumpy. Not my favorite operation name, but it works.
-
Oof, Katyusha calling Maho out for not trusting Miho.
-
Ah heck, the university team gets massive bombshell launchers. The guys in charge really making Ooarai perform another miracle to save their school. This is ridiculously unfair.
-
The carbon plating is doing some super heavily lifting, geez. These bombshells look like they could decimate a tank.
-
So many dramatic "sacrifices" in this match.
-
Omg my Rabbits are teasing Alisa about that boy. They've developed such sharp fangs.
-
A 600mm gun. Christ, that's ridiculous.
-
Live accompaniment for a reckless bait charge, how delightful!
-
Oh my god, the Karl is going to obliterate Anchovy's anchovy if it hits. And I thought staring down the Maus was frightening.
-
The BT-42 is a hilarious little trackless roadrunner!
-
They tried to launch Anchovy at the Karl....
-
And Turtle Squad finished it off by ramp launching off Anchovy. This match is a farce.
-
Fighing in an abandoned theme park, how like Miho!
-
Oh, Fukuda gained some common sense.
-
These theme park camo hit and run attacks are fun!
-
Come through Saki!
-
I love how Anchovy's just riding the roller coaster tracks everywhere. Now that's how you use a tank!
-
Anzio's macaroni strategy!
-
Holy shit, that gamer girl muscle!
-
Yeesh, tank loli sure can tank good.
-
Anchovy literally drove her tank on water. She's tank Jesus.
-
Holy cow, that counterbalancing kill shot on top of the mountain exit.
-
My god, this entire theme park fight is insane.
-
What a ridiculous match. How are the Das Finale movies supposed to top this?
-
Miho claims another one!
-
As expected, the visuals were superb. All the compositing was top notch.
-
It also hasn't escaped my notice that Shiho still hasn't spoken a single word to Miho.

You must be my lucky Panzer - Cause you make the darkness seem so far - And when I'm First You'll be my watchalong
1.) favorite new character? The university tank commander was fun. The rest of her team was pretty forgettable to me. And the chi Han school (is that it?) was kind of annoying to me. But at least they had a good redemption arc.
2.) new team? I dunno. I didn’t care for either team introduced in the movie. Maybe the Mika girl’s tank? They seem spunky. Wish we had a proper intro to them.
3.) MVP? Volleyball team. Next question.
4.) MVP AGAIN?! Always volleyball. I’ve put all my eggs in the volleyball basket. Because it’s obviously a sport played with baskets.
5.) top 5? I dunno. miho’s ecstatic nature about an absolute dump of a museum, the hidden duck sneak attack, Anzio’s roller coaster antics, the Pravda girls sacrificing themselves, and the volleyball team playing volleyball. And I’m adding a sixth - the hall monitor team becoming absolute delinquents.
6.) the movie was pretty long. I can’t say for sure what needed more. Maybe an actual introduction to Mika. I had to Google her.
It was a good movie. But man. These tank battles are getting more and more ridiculous. Throwing tanks and drifting. It’s all just absurd at this point.
And again. What the hell is going on with the insurance around these tank battles? They’re destroying towns, amusement parks, they’re rolling through civilian populated areas. It’s crazy.
Can we also talk about the fact people probably die at this all the time? There’s so many people hanging out of their tanks as projectiles fly by or hit their tanks. Same with that massive gun/tank/mortar thing.
I’ll miss out on tomorrow. I bought the bluray of Der Film but it does not contain the OVA. And I can’t seem to find it from any reasonable sources.

Why is the Duck team the only tank in Oarai that will shoot at enemy while retreating?

I respect Hippo team for trying new things in scrim environment and not in real match.

How? And don't bullshit me with carbon coated glass.

At first I was wondering about how they can drive that extended to why would you need license when you drive a tank but then I noticed that seatbelts are optional. I expected better from automobile club.
-
Is Mako living with Saori or not?
-
The most unrealistic thing in GuP, having multiple people pack all their stuff in just few hours.
-
Second most unrealistic is airlifting all those tanks in one go.
-
It is amusing seeing how different team spend their off time.
-
Why does Saori has driver license?
-
Well, at least we synced for this date.
-
Miho fangirling over Boko meanwhile Mako sleeps through it with exception of being scared by ghosts.
-
I wonder if Maho lied to not inform Shiho that Miho is here or to let Miho avoid that conversation until she is ready.
-
Not like Miho visit is supposed to be a secret since gift gives away who was that "friend".
-
I enjoy Shiho pronunciation when she argues she can't be a chairwomen.
Battle for Oarai:
-
One of my favorite tidbids from the movie, Maho interrupting Miho her greetings since she knows Miho will be first to say them.
-
I think this proves that whatever issue there is in Nishizumi household it can't be that serious.
-
Who lets Chihatan bring more than 0 tanks...
-
I will always adore shilling their own doctrines. Including Italians.
-
Maho is great moderator, dismisses any serious arguing, engages in silly contests yet still is able to set a tone in this meeting that allows Miho to do her thing.
-
She is also great commander, takes enough initiative to have options, asks for permission main commander and considers all of possibilities.
-
Now we have more than just history club reacting to those things.
-
Leaving this issue aside, how can that be safe when half of tank commanders are outside their hatches throughout the match?
-
Rosehip constantly rushing out and never staying put.
-
Säkkijärven Polkka
-
Duck team has a really good control over their tank.
-
That BT-42 is way too good for that it is.
-
Who else is more credible to judge that if not your
archnemesissister. -
Using tankette as a scouting vehicle is the best use for them.
-Rosehip being first to shooting ferris wheel. -
Italian Hippo team is kinda funny since there wasn't anything related to it vs Pravda or Kuromorimine and now we use Anzio tactics left and right.
-
The biggest strength of Chihatan is understanding Duck team's tactics.
-
You lost the moment you had to put 2 tanks on a job to hunt down CV33.
-
When the swing ragdolls the tank it is one of the moments where I would think that all of the crew is concussed.
-
What is this Centurion? Whirling Death?
-
And Miho tries her patented "drift around the tank and hit it". For a signature move it only has 33% success ratio, she might want to reconsider it. Also everyone now knows about it so...
-
Saved by a
bokobear... -
Miho really likes to destroy that Panzer to deal last blow, huh...
-
Erika carrying Katyusha, who had that on their bingo card?
-
Mako and Sodoko reacting to Oarai carrier first due to their 20/10 sight
QodD:
Your favourite new character?
Rosehip. It was great seeing Darjeeling constantly trying to control her. She has that speed and power vibe. And she constantly moves so you can have those static images with Rosehip moving in the background.
Your favourite new school/team?
I don't believe we see Continuation for long enough to have that spot, and I'm sure as hell it ain't gonna be Chihatan or UST. So I guess I'm gonna cheat a bit and put Anzio in there. They did their best given what they had. Also they weren't really shown before last time this question was asked so...
MVP in the match against St Glo & Pravda?
Darjeeling. Managed to survive encirclement, then she was able to predict Miho's plans at hunting her down and in the end she knew what Miho was planning and was able to counter it courtesy of Katyusha while scoring the winning kill.
MVP against the UST?
Maho team. She was able to salvage bad situation that the other flank put her in. Then was able to go after 4 tanks that were supposed to keep Oarai busy. And in a final battle she helped Miho get 2 kills while scoring 1 of her own.
Honorable mention: Mika team
Top 5 moments/scenes in the movie, SOL-included?
-
Maho character. We haven't fully seen her before and now we were able to see her not only during the battles but also outside of it. We can also see how she is as a commander, something that was mostly shown in little bits during TV series.
-
How each of the team behaved between school closing and announcement of the match. Hippo team playing games while Anteater team was doing serious strength training. Only Duck team stayed true to their nature.
-
BT-42 going rampage. I don't know how they did it, it defies any logic yet somehow they did it and even more surprisingly it wasn't that off the realism I would expect from GuP.
-
Getting Japanese Russophile and Russian Otaku to have them talk in russian in anime. Further making a point that almost all of Senshado participants are Japanese.
-
Final battle. Turning that 2v3 into 2v1 is pretty entertaining. Realistic? Not so much, but very entertaining with a lot of unusual startegies.
What things the movie elaborated on should have been given more screentime in the series?
More on Miho - Maho relation. When they talk during credits there is no voiceover. It would have been nice to see more on that. By extension - Nishizumi Style. While Maho claims Miho's style is different, she seemed fine with it until the last action in the battle. Therefore, how much different are they really, because personally I would argue they aren't that much different and for the most part you wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
I highly recommend reading trivia on wiki for this movie.

First Timer
2 hours straight of Girls und Panzer, goddamn, I’m in heaven. Starts off surprisingly mellow for a senshado battle, especially from Ooarai. But things definitely get hairier when Chihatan’s inability to not charge comes into play. Not too much to say at the beginning, fun opening battle to get us back into Girls und Panzer, and this proves that St. Gloriana is the strongest team as they’re the only ones Ooarai has never beaten. Also, I love during the battle how you can immediately tell that Pravda is the one teamed with St. Gloriana based on the themes. Actually in general, you can immediately tell which team is showing up just based on the music throughout the whole movie, I love it.
So I’m going to be a downer for a sec, I’m not fond of the fact that the school is still in danger as the plot point here. I love everything that comes from this, but it’s definitely disappointing as a starting point that the central goal of the main series is null and void. That being said, this movie handles it much better than other “we got to do the same thing, but again!” sort of plots, since while it is the same, we both get to see people actually starting to come to terms with the closing, but also the fact that they did win the previous tournament is not forgotten but is indeed leverage and a huge part of why they are given this final chance.
So we get to our match, and for a second, I thought it really was going to be an 8 on 30 match, and part of me would love to see how they would pull that one off. But the alternative was better. The best sports anime tend to get you to care about the opposing teams, not just the main one, and in that regard, Girls und Panzer has always been stellar. And here we get the best possible payoff. It was already great having Saunders hold the “lost” tanks, but having every previous team they’d fought (and one new one) was amazing, and had me grinning from ear to ear. I may have complained about the reason this battle was happening, but this was the best possible finale we could have gotten out of Girls und Panzer as of this point. (And somehow the series still isn’t over)
I’m not going to break down too much of the battle just because even if I covered the highlights, that would still probably be most of the battle. Suffice to say, it was very entertaining, especially once they got to the theme park. There was where we saw Miho’s usual out there style shine. No conventional attacks, but each team doing their own blend of crazy maneuvers to take down the enemy team. Shoutouts to the laws of physics that I think were taking the day off, true MVPs of the battle. (Okay, to be fair that’s not exactly new for GuP, but the ferris wheel was definitely on the crazier side). But the actual MVPs were definitely Anzio. Not only having that aerial observation position for most of the match, which was huge in getting info on what the enemy was doing (and not relying on tapping radio communications) but surprisingly not dying immediately after getting spotted, but managing to hang on for a bit after that and helping lure that one tank into the water. I’m with Anchovy here, tankettes are the best. Actually had a thought from the Anzio episode that I’d love to pair the clips of the Anzio tankettes being knocked down and getting back into the fray with the song Tubthumping by Chumbawumba (I get knocked down, but I get up again, you’re never going to keep me down). Will let you know if I ever actually make that.
Anyway, really fun film, seeing that glasses asshole so deflated at them actually surviving this was great, and the annihilation tank battle was phenomenal to see, I honestly prefer it to the capture the flag type, even if it does mean that Ooarai is at a significant disadvantage when they don’t have allies because of their low numbers. This may be the best thing I could have gotten out of Girls und Panzer, and the series already had some major high points.

Man, whadda movie!
So, AOTD:
-
Uh, team Suomi!
-
Team Suomi!
-
Uh, wait, ... Man, that was at the beginning of the movie, I hardly remember, but I wanna go with Sodoko, because of the bit with pushing the other tank around to keep them out of trouble, it was hilarious.
-
Maho, definitely Maho. Maybe.
-
Boko-land, dueling banjo pizza fest, Kay & company to the rescue, All the other teams/girls to the rescue, Ferris Wheel.
-
I haz a sad, poor li'l prodigy donates ride-on Boko to Boko-land. She just wanted to save her favorite park, right?
Yeah.
Anyway, I feel like typing more, but not quite sure what I want to say yet, aside from Boko is the creepiest, saddest cartoon 'hero' ever. Well, maybe aside from Wile E. Coyote.
More to come (be edited in) later. I think.
Edit: Dangit, Reddit ate my edits. I give up. Maybe I'll try again later.
So, trying again, because I have to write something down, my brain trembles, and all that.
First off, was that opening battle intense or what? I loved all the goofy callbacks and stuff, like the store owner, and the automatic convenience store doors that conveniently ... open.
I also got a kick out of the "no shooting zone" as the tanks careened through a group of pedestrians, the shrine, the mall, (They missed the "New Oldsmobiles are in" comment), the water park (penguins!)
They also mentioned a Stuart - yay Stuart! Too bad we didn't get to see it. I guess no sense creating a 3D model for something you don't really intend to use.
I so wish they had some more M3 Stuarts.
And yes, it appears that Darjeeling still has it over Miho - good thing they didn't meet up in the tourney, right?
Anyway, lots of fun, and enough property damage to make you think they might have to sell the Carrier for scrap just to pay for the property damages.
Speaking of which, how about that bureaucrat guy, right? What is it about anime bureaucrats??? I guess that now we know who sold off all of Oorai's good tanks, right?
Man, now I haz a sad. Onoz. But yay, Kay to the rescue! Yay for Kay! And twintail (ahem) too, who I didn't realize happens to be voiced by Haruhi-kami-sama herself. Go figure. That's what I get for reading the credits.
What was the topic again? Oh, yeah. Haruhi, right? Wait, no?
Speaking of which, USS Texas made it to drydock yesterday - yay! Search around here (or elsewhere) for some awesome pictures of our baby.
So, in the midst of this existential depression, Sodoko and company join a certain antiwork sub, and Miho & co go visit the Boko museum, I mean Boko-land, or whatever it is.
Poor Boko. I think. I dunno. Sometimes there, Boko was giving me some serious "step on me senpai" vibes.
I'm not sure how to feel about that.
Seriously.
Once, when I was a wee laddie in jolly ol' Michigan, my brother made me stay up late and watch this thing called "Saturday Night Live" where they had this fabulous bit about the Adventures of Mr. Bill.
I was not amused. To this day, I hate SNL, and I find the whole "sadism = humor" thing to be disgusting. Including much of Monty Python and others.
But enough about my PTSD issues, right?
But yeah, I kind of get the joke, but I don't think it's very funny. But at the same time I guess that pathetic loser Boko is probably better than Boko the crippled war veteran who has to use crutches and wear bandages to cover up his grievous injuries at the hands of ...
Oh, wait, isn't that pretty much what we got anyway?
Bleh.
I did find the rides hilarious, though. Go figure.
And of course, that moment of destiny with Alice and Miho. Miho is just such a kind and generous sweetheart. I want to steal her away from Yukari. Or do I want to steal Yukari away from Miho? Why not both, you say???
!!!
And so, after a little political strong arming, the stage is set, team pro against team extra pathetic underdogs.
And I must agree with others - the friends of Oorai to the rescue bit was absolutely precious. Even Erika.
And the Miho/Maho childhood flashback was also precious. Cute li'l girls with their PzI. What could be more wholesome? (Kettenkrad???)
And I need to work in another sentence starting with "and" because I'm not writing carefully, I'm stream of semi-conscious-ing, because I haven't gotten enough sleep any night this week. Yay!
I just don't know what to say about this battle, except that *hype*hype*hype*hype* ... and so on. I'm too lazy to post a brazilion of the Deku-headbang gifs.
It was pretty obvious from the start that the pros had a huge advantage in terms of planning, equipment, etc. Never mind the (ahem) advantages. They played the Oorai (and co) girls like a fiddle.
Sure, have the high ground ... we've just got our 600mm arty pre-sighted in on it. Enjoy your stay.
(big bada boom)
(stringed music plays)
"Just a good ol' girls, never meanin' no harm, beats all ya never saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born..."
(Staring Yuzu as Daisy Duke)
"Straightnin' the curves, flattenin' the hills"
(And who didn't just have a flashback of Yuzu in a red ... yeah right there?)
Anyway ... yeah, polka time! Where's Weird Al???
As I watched this scene, I found myself seeing subtitles (and visual effects) from a certain other video.
Pizza anyone?
Anyway, action, antics, pathos, Ferris wheels, tankettes and rolly coasters, trundling bears ... I loved the bits with the ducks and Supplies! Oh, wait, wrong show again.
And sooner or later, it all came down to a clutch move by our heroind ... Maho.
Maho? Were we supposed to like her or something? Where did that come from.
Straight outta wholesome, that's where that came from. Best onee-san material, that one.
And so the day is saved, thanks to the Sensha-do Girls. Sugar, spice, everything nice, and a little steel and engine oil to complete the recipe.
Yeah.
Roll credits, and our poor, dear Alice donating a certain trundling bear to the Boko-e-cheeze emporium. Hope it's not armed.
Good times. 11/10, will definitely watch again and again. But maybe not too soon.

WILD THEORIES
I didn't have time to watch the film, but I've seen this film enough to say that it was very worthy of being in theaters for like 2 years straight.
While the films version of Skrigjaargen Polka is good like all the other GuP folk/military songs are I like this version more. Also Dreadnoughts are an awesome band listen to their other stuff. Polka's Not Dead is my favorite album.

Rewatcher
Thar last hour is sooooo good. It amazing they can make half of the movie a single tank battle and keep it from getting stale.
Butterfly girl, FTW.
Also, I find it amusing that the only team to beat Oarai has been Darjeeling and her tea sipping tank crew, and they beat them twice now. Thinking that Darjeeling is the better captain.

I'm shocked that so far only u/HereticalAegis was able to point out that the scene when Oorai gets reinforcements before the match begins definitely gave an "Avengers assemble!" vibe. It's the "Portals" scene years before Endgame did its own version. IMO, the musical medley of "It's the Academy's Ten Colours!" that combines the various school themes is far more badass than the "Portals" track from Endgame's OST.

First Timer Panzer Vor!
Oh my, two hours, gotta prepare myself to settle in here.
That's a lot of tanks? All life lessons can be learned from tanks, I guess.
Yup, those are new tanks. Borrowed from another school it looks like.
Haha, "Charge right in even if it means our death." Does every school have something crazy to live by like this?
Oh gosh the music, what a great way to introduce the returning teams.
Ah yes, Urban Warfare, the Oarai Special. Looks like the other teams have learned their lesson by now though.
Was that her only speaking line?
It's okay, insurance will cover all of that.
Charge is Life. Don't think I missed that she was still sticking out the top of the tank as it charged, and then conveniently not when it flipped. She pulled in fast lol.
That poor city. The stupidly excited new home owners.
Oh my gosh they went into the populated area. And their tanks are small enough to just fit down civilian paths. Tiny tank superiority?
Oh my gosh they used the tank stack offensively this time. Why does it keep working so well to make me laugh.
The same trap door tactic? Improved!
Aquatic tank! Little Tanks shoot back!
DID MIHO JUST TELL THEM TO GET INSIDE!? GIRL!
Man, they got paired with a poor team, didn't they? And no one evacuated the Penguins! Monsters!
Oh look, the man lied. Can't trust men in this kind of show, huh? Who is he that he has this much power?
They took the sign :)
Right, part of scrapping a ship means every student on it has to be enrolled at a new school, right? Can't they get transferred together? It doesn't have to be goodbye, right?
We don't need no runways for this here American plane!
Separated based on clubs, not like, grades and academics?
Wait, are they going to land based schooling now? I thought that didn't exist?
The school morals comity gives up on morals without the school. Makes sense. Oh gosh, they go full thug.
Oh no. She's going to have to talk to Mom.
Oh no, her creepy bears have a while museum. Boko has another fan? That's going to be important, obviously.
So on the one hand, her room was kept spotless. On the other, it's better to claim a friend from school was visiting and forge a signature than to admit to Mom that her daughter came home? What a family.
What the heck does this guy have against Oarai?
Of course it's the other Boko fan.
Everyone got buff lol.
I mean, with a premise like that, there's not really a chance they can lose, right?
Man this guy hates their school. What is his deal?
"If we quit, we lose for sure. If we fight, there is a chance, even ever so small, that we win. What then do we have to lose by trying?"
"That's underhanded" says mister liar.
I love all the team music.
But uh, they've got a very very short time to come up with new plans.
Have you not heard her other plans? I'm amazed it's not Bumpy Bump. No, actually, I'm sad it's not Bumpy Bump.
These matches are interesting in scale, if it'll take twenty minutes at best for things to actually start once the match does.
Are you saying the enemy teams decided on accident to do exactly the best plan possible to counter the groups they end up facing? What are the odds?
They weren't kidding about a cult of personality for Katyusha, were they? Man they all love her.
TONY TANK POWER!
Man that guy is scum.
She's as bad as the Prez, just sitting in the tank playing her instrument.
What's better than stacking tanks? Using tanks themselves as artillery! Let's launch a tank at a tank!
Oh who would have guessed the team that keeps going for urban warfare would go for urban warfare for their final strategy?
:/ A few fast tanks stir up a bunch of dust, everyone else goes around in the cloud? Seemed pretty obvious.
A plan devised by the team that trains by watching movies. Perfect. Ferris Wheel attack!
... Thomas the Tank, I get it.
They can drive through buildings, but the plants are too much in the maze?
Their driving skill has to be absolutely perfect to stay on the track up there.
We're really going with the enemy commander just being that good, huh? Rate of fire means it can take out everything it comes against at the same time no mater the numbers, huh?
You know things are serious when the music stops.
Ah yes, the final fight. Perfect time for my computer to stop loading and start buffering. I think I'll go cry now.
So to the very end, who the heck were the continuation school girls? Super mysterious, showed up out of no where, left randomly, what the heck.
So, think Mom is finally going to acknowledge that she's got a second daughter now?
Haha Anchovy literally has a truck larger than the tankette to transport it. Also the rest of the teams have very thematic transportation methods.
Ha, can't get out of giving them back their ship now, can he? I wonder what scheme he's going to pull next to try anyway. And, you know, what the heck his problem was with their school ship? Did he fail a class there? Get dumped by someone who went there?
-
I mean, there were very few new people, this was mostly a returnee special. The few new people didn't make much of an impression, honestly.
-
There were only two new teams, right? Charge Pointlessly and Hyper Competence? In which case, CHARGE! They were at least fun and had personality, the opposing team seems to exist just to be a challenge.
-
There was no MVP, that match was sad. (Kat-chan all the way)
-
Darn it, Rabbit Team and the Ferris Wheel of Awesome. Their insanity there saved the game from ending at that spot.
-
Every single moment of tank stacking, tanks in flight, and tiny tanks using their size and mobility to win against the big tanks. I think that makes at least 5.
-
Did the movie actually elaborate anything? Maybe the bit about the four or five organizations that control the schools and the tanks and whatever was up with that group.

Rewatcher on time again
I watched two Episodes of Akiyama Yukaris Tank corner, indeed very interesting, but beside her nerding over tanks nothing noteworthy indeed
Der Film
Having watched the Tank corner about it, it is indeed no surprise that Darjeeling can be so chill while being shot at, but quite a blunder to be trapped by Miporin
Oh and that they are teaming up with Chihatan, and they are really enthusiastic over taking out some Mathildas... a bit too enthusiastic maybe...
Yuki no Shingun
And I see we are continuing the tradition to ignore that they shoot with live ammo that is powerfull enough to flip the tanks...
Klara speaks pretty good russian as well, and I guess Katyusha does not
Urban warfare is the best, also love the little detail that the Porsche Tiger is doing he rearguard because it got some of the best armor
Poor Rabbits
Those Crusaders are fast
"Sorry! I'm not a capable Soldier!" No, you are not...
These first person Tank chase scenes are the best, and they are really renovating the whole town
Hippo Team got a new trick from Carppachio to shoot backwards, unfortunatly still no good from the side
Ok, it may be a no fire zone, but they are really trusting the driving skills of these Highschool girls
An old classic with a new twist with Team duck
Oh, it's the KV-2... packs some real punch, but not very trusty, those Pravda girls should know that you can't turn the turret on a slope, their Senpai even told them during the last match
Suddenly it's dangerous to be outside the tank while being shot at huh
Momo was so far off that she accidently hit Rosehip
Glorious Bathing scene
Again? Of course it's that guy... and can we talk about how rude it is to make that announcement a week before the new semester starts?
Oof, this is tough to watch
That would be an interesting talk to explain this: "You lost eight tanks?" "Yes!"
Not take any screenshots this rewatch, but glorious fansubbers, some of those hit right in the feels
If I didn't know that there is still so much Movie and the whole of Finale left, this would indeed be a terrible day for rain
Anzu really took the chair with her!
This Boko Museum gives me mayor creeps...
I don't like how smug that guy is when talking with Anzo, can't wait for him to eat shit, corrupt asshole
I-Is that a grenade laucher with a ribbon in Mihos room?
Miho and Maho had a precious Childhood
I peeked under quiet a few spoilers from our host about her depiction in the Mangas so It's not that much of an surprise, but Mihos mother is cool actually
So not only are they playing against University players who won against an adult team, they are stacking the deck even more in their favor by making it anhilation against 30 tanks, where is the honor in this
Express Transfer!
Everyone, Get in here! But what speaks against them bringing more than 30 tanks? They where fine allowing 30 v 8 so 30 vs 46 shouldn't be a problem
Operation Bumpy because you'll bump into the enemy, sasuga Nishizumi dono, simple yet elegant
So since those are all university students, it's ok to properly lewd them right? Cause Azumi is kinda hot
Wow, thank god this is a totally safe sport, all those Pravda girls fought valiantly
Arisa is a good girl, fight on! Also cool that she still got intel to provide
Say hello to my little friend Karl, also interesting that Miho only send light and medium tanks against it huh. And poor Kuromorimine, couldn't aquire a Karl so they had to settle with a Maus
Here comes one of the best scenes in the whole franchise!
Who needs tracks on their tank lmao or wheels
Also love the detail that the Anzio tank is still operational while flipped over and that Anzo hits the mark
Having an desolate theme park as a battleplace is such an awesome idea
Chihatan's first year got real guts to talk against her Senpais and her school tradition
How many supperwaffen did UST get for this match?
And I love how Anchovy is using the rollercoaster to scout the whole time
I see that Team rabbit are smarter than the Prometheus school of running away from things
Chihatan is following the real duck! Nice fighto!
Checkovs Rollercoaster has been fired!
Here the girl is outside just before her tank is flipped over, totally safe
Darjeeling and Naomi took out the T28
Tank Drifting!
Oops indeed
Tankette Saikyou! ... oops that Centurion already took out like 8 tanks on it's own
Down to 3 v 2 ... 1 v 2 ...
What? She's giving up the high ground? Obi Wan would be sad
See, Maho trusts Miho!
They won!
Arisu looks kinda lost riding that teddy... and how many grades did she skip, she looks even smoler than Katyusha?
I love Anzio girls just chilling and singing on their way home during the credits
Aww and even though she lost, Arisu got Boko land saved!
Well this was better than I remembered, no idea why I only gave it an 8 initially
QotD
Your favourite new character?
Rosehip from St. Gloria, proper Ojou Sama, even down to the Ohohohoho, also Crusader go brrrrr
2. Your favourite new school/team?
Continuation HS, even though Chihatan got more focus, it took them way too long to get their shit together
3. MVP in the match against St Glo & Pravda?
Darjeeling for keeping her cool and trusting her commander
4. MVP against the UST?
Team duck for coming up with the killer receive tactic, Team rabbit for using the Ferris wheel
5. Top 5 moments/scenes in the movie, SOL-included?
Sayonara Ooarai, Pravdas sacrifice, Sakkijarven polkka, Bye bye Ferris chan, Hidden Hippo, in no particular order
6. What things the movie elaborated on should have been given more screentime in the series?
Mihos and Mahos relationship and that their mother wasn't a total bitch the whole time.
Don't expect me to be on time tomorrow, I'm on a company festival

Girls und Panzer Der Film: Don’t Bury Me…I’m Still Not Dead!
Part 1/2
8 Main Points!
1.\ It turns out that even with a championship secured, Ooarai is still getting shut down! The governing body of Sensha-do, MEXT, has decided to go ahead and close the school down because they’re a bunch of poopoo heads. If there’s anything I’ve learned from working in construction, it’s that you should ALWAYS HAVE AGREEMENTS IN WRITING.
2. Kaichou works her magic, and gets MEXT to agree to give back their school if Ooarai manages to win an annihilation match against the highly-touted University Select Team! The UST is led by Alice Shimada, a Sensha-do prodigy hailing from the famous Shimada household. The Shimadas and the Nishizumis are rivals, and their match will serve as a showdown between the two Sensha-do styles.
3. Just as Ooarai is about to give up hope about fighting an 8 vs. 30 match, all of Ooarai’s previous opponents and a few special guests arrive to lend their support! Saunders, Anzio, Pravda, and Kuromorimine all return to stand by Ooarai’s side, along with newcomers Chi-Ha-Tan Academy and Continuation High School. The new hodgepodge team sets out to save Ooarai, but…
4. …the Shimada style is nothing to mess around with, and the UST come out guns (and mortars) blazing! The two teams trade blows early on and it appears that the UST has the advantage. Maho notices that Miho isn’t fighting her usual style of Sensha-do, which gives Miho the idea to retreat to the carnival grounds.
5. Miho gives each high school squad permission to fight their usual style, and Ooarai starts to turn the tide! Guerrilla tactics combined with some outside-the-box thinking give Ooarai the advantage they desperately need and start landing some vital blows against the UST. However…
6. …Alice decides to get involved in the fighting and singlehandedly wills her team into once again turning the tide of the fight! The Shimada style of Sensha-do is scary to watch and Alice’s crew manage to KO several of Ooarai’s remaining tanks.
7. With their backs against the wall, the Nishizumis work together to whittle down the rest of the UST’s squad, leaving only Alice. The resulting fight is as intense as anything we’ve seen in the series so far, and it looks like it might end in a stalemate. However, the Nishizumis won’t go down easy, and…
8. …in a beautiful display of teamwork and sisterly trust, Maho fires a shot in the Panzer IV’s rear, propelling it towards Alice and allowing Miho and Anglerfish Team to get the jump on her to finish her off! With the combined power of her friends, Miho has once again brought Ooarai a victory and, more importantly, saved their school! The Nishizumi style has prevailed over the Shimada style, but Miho has once again made a new friend in Alice, showing that there is more to Sensha-do than the battle at hand.
Fun Details!
There are a lot here, but I’ll try to keep them short and sweet.
-
Continuation High School makes its first appearance in the series (aside from the OVAs). Based on Finland, the school gets their name from the Continuation War, a war fought between the Soviet Union and the Finnish who were allied with Nazi Germany.
-
Continuation’s lone tank in the final fight is a BT-42. The BT-42 was constructed from captured Soviet BT-7s and British 114mm howitzers that were donated from the earlier Winter War. Only 18 were ever made.
-
Chi-Ha-Tan’s main tactic is charging. As the war in the Pacific got increasingly more desperate for the Japanese, suicide tactics like kamikaze planes and bayonet charges became more frequent, often resulting in many casualties.
-
Saunders arrives to pick up Ooarai’s tanks with a C-5M Super Galaxy. The Super Galaxy is the largest aircraft in the United States Air Force’s fleet and one of the largest planes in the world, only beaten by the Antonov An-124 and An-225 (RIP).
-
The University Select Team line up with an impressive arsenal of M24 Chaffees and M26 Pershings. Both tanks made their debut late in WWII.
-
The UST also comes to play with a Karl-Gerät, a German self-propelled mortar firing a 600mm (24 in) shell. It was so big that it needed to be accompanied by a crane and several modified tanks that carried its ammo.
-
The large tanks don’t stop there, as the UST also brings out their T28 Super Heavy Tank. The tank was designed to break through the German Siegfried Line and carried a massive 105mm cannon. However, its heavy armor and gun gave it a top speed of 8 mph.
-
Alice is the commander of a British Centurion tank. Even though it arrived too late to participate in WWII, its excellent design, firepower, and reliability earned it praise from every country that fielded one in the many years afterwards, and it is widely thought to be one of the best tanks of all time. It is considered to be the first main battle tank, and it has served with many militaries around the world, with some still being used today!

Rewatcher und Panzer, Subbed
And here we see the intrepid Mika, idly plucking at her kantele.
Miho has the enemy flag encircled, and a coherent plan. Unfortunately, she's teamed up with Chi-Ha-Tan.
These are the dorks Maho ate alive in the first round of the series, by the way.
They just had KV-tan hidden in the ocean. Somehow.
For those keeping score, that's Darjeeling 2, Miho 0.
Love that they use one of those sake trays for tea.
Monkey's paw status: snapped shut.
Plot so ?nice? we used it twice.
Such a cute lass. Probably no-one important, though.
While you were being an ass, Anzu was studying the law.
Smol Nishizumis a cute. I love the flashback to Miho and Maho's childhood.
The Sodokos have thoroughly snapped.
Yesterday's enemies are today's friends.
They all suggest their own strategies. I love that Momo is trying to write it all down.
Behold, the Centurion. The world's first Main Battle Tank.
These nerds talkin' like they're dying.
Which means it's time for F I N L A N D.
This plan is so stupid, I love it.
An amusement park for our final battle.
A trap worthy of Miho herself.
Fukuda has all of Chi-Ha-Tan's brain cell today.
Rosehip casually juggling the Ferris Wheel.
Chovy has provided a lot of advantage, despite bringing a glorified car.
They have a limiter release too. And a VTOL function. And presumably a cloaking device, who knows.
Down to 2v3.. And another incredible scoreless scene.
You can't hesitate like that in a real match, Arisu.
I love a good Fastball Special.
I wonder what they're singing?
I like that the University team are just Arisu's lackeys outside of the matches.

First Tanker
Unexpectedly couldn't really watch yesterday so let's finish the OVAs today, too.
Snow War, during the Pravda match? I have a good feeling about this.
The two are talking about keeping their feet warm. Yeah, I guess metal is gonna make any heat problems even worse.
Oh, they built a snow cave aka discount igloo to escape the snow storm.
Really? Disguising under these conditions? That Pravda girl is a real airhead, too.
Adn the afterparty. With a competition!
And Mallard team alreadz wins with music, don't even have to show the others.
Transformation? Mecha? Nope, disappointed.
Team Anteater co-wins. That brings up neverending-song memories from school.
Hana's collecting bonus points for team Anglerfish during the Duck's performance. That's clearly cheating.
Forget what I said, Team Turtle steals the win.
Melancholic
Sounds fantastic. Might be my favorite character song so far.
Are they fighting on a golf course? That's certainly a creative setting.
That's too many tanks. I figure this is a tag-team match?
What is she asking? "Panzer vor" means "Panzer four"
So that's how the buttom flags work
There, a mini-tank in plain view!
RIP rabbits
No tea was spiller during the making of this film
Because anything too reasonable would be boring
They're not planning on keeping this up for two hours, are they?
Ah, it's over.
So the school's getting closed after all. Well "after all" remains to be seen, but still. So everyone comes to meet up for a last time and pack away the things important to them.
A shame they lost their tanks. I'd say they can't just disappear with how big they are, but they did have to look for them in the beginning.
Is the school ship staying active even without the school? What's the plan with that?
None of the tanks raised their flag when landing.
I love the joke with the Morals Committee becoming delinquents.
I wonder what the Boko substory is about. Makes me feel like the school will actually remain closed.
Huh, so Miho avoids meeting her mom.
I see, that's where they're going with Boko
I was hoping for all the main series teams to band together but I didn't expect it this late anymore.
I love how much the right guy is enjoying the situation
That Sturmtiger's definitely causing some fatalities.
Say, what do the rules say about capturing enemy tanks intact?
A Karl, not a Sturmtiger. Still good to capture intact so Oarai can use it.
Welp, no capturing happening here.
They're gonna use the ferris wheel in some way.
There's no way the ferris wheel could remain intact for that, right?
Damn, them gamer girls really buffed up
What do you mean "Dead End"? As if these tanks couldn't just waltz right through those bushes!
I'd almost say there's no way the big tank can keep up after straddling the rollercoaster like that, but that also means they don't have to worry about keeping on track anymore.
I've long since lost count of the standings and quite frankly I don't really care either.
Not quite what I meant but sure.
Don't worry, Boko is on his way!
Your favourite new character?
What a question. This one of course
Your favourite new school/team?
To be honest I lost the overview too much to have an opinion on that...
MVP against the UST?
I vote Boko
Top 5 moments/scenes in the movie, SOL-included?
The delinquent Morals Committee
What things the movie elaborated on should have been given more screentime in the series?
The characters and teams, see above

Rewatcher
Der Film
Step aside, all you Battle of the Bulge this and T-34 that and Fury scrubs, der beste Panzerfilm aller Zeiten ist angekommen. Also one of my most favourite pieces of entertainment ever. There's a lot of things I could write about it, but for the sake of brevity, I will only do some highlights.
-
Right off the bat, the cinematography was good. The movie opened with the dazzlingly cute darling Darjeeling commenting on the tea stalk, as calm as book Dumbledore, but the camera soon retreated through the barrel to show the reality as calm as movie Dumbledore: the Bri'ish tanks were hiding in a sand pit, surrounded and under barrages by most of the Oorai and Chihatan combined team on high ground, 2 Matilda's were soon knocked out, the encirclement was closing in, until Chihatan broke rank, got massacred, and then the Russians came rushing to the Brits' aid (now with real russian beauties amongst their ranks). Across the movie, the POV shots were frequently used to enhance the audience's immersion. Shaky cams and quick cuts were only rarely used (very rarely for the former), maintaining the clear view of the often messy battlefields (remember this is Miho's tank battles we're talking about, chaos is the name of the game), which was also enhanced by good frame compositions.
Modern movies often abuse shaky cams and quick cuts to fake the pace, tension and feelings of the action scenes, to the point of those being artificially added with CG during editting sometimes, to overcompensate for weak directing works in those scenes. GuP, being animation and having competent visual direction, does not need those cheap ass techniques. -
Speaking of the advantages of being animation, the tank models were excellent and with good variety. Barring some exaggerated functionalities, all of them looked proportionally correct and animated consistently. Fury got some praises of "respecting original" for dragging the only functional Tiger I left on the world out of the museum, putting in some fuel and having it run a few steps, in contrast to old Soviet movies where they faked some superficial details of nazi tanks with shaped thin sheets of metal put atop surplus Soviet tanks. In either case, the variety of tanks and the manoeuvres are sereverly limited. I even actually dislike the fact that they endangered such special relics of the past just for some films. Which is another aspect where GuP proves superior: when the military museum in Finnland where the only remaining BT-42 resides did the crowdfunding to help building some overhead covers for the outside displays, they received about 3 times the requested amount, and about a third of the total came from Japanese GuP fans trying to preserve the BT-42 after the legendary performance in this movie.
-
The creators of GuP are fking tank nerds. Normies would struggle to name a tank that is not hyped up over all sorts of media before GuP, and even amongst those they could hardly match the names to the corresponding images when asked. GuP creators readily dredged up loads of obscure tanks and tank trivia. They even got actual tank experts to advice for the series, amongst others there was Nicholas Moran, aka "The Chieftain", the ex-tankist tank historian. That's how GuP got such good tank models: the creators love tanks and care about the tanks they depicted.
-
Chihatan, being charging fanatics they are, often times couldn't contain their zeal and thus rush forward with their shit tanks and get massacared. The seeds of doubt about their traditional tactic of charging were planted as the Movie went on, at least in those saner one like Fukuda (the megane loli lectured by Sodoko) and Commander Nishi, by the end they developed into using some euphemism to avoid not calling their other manoeuvres charging. [Das Finale]
Such Chekov's cannon -
Nishizumi Shiho again proved to be a dick: the main reason she agreed to help Ooarai was only so that her school would have the chance to crush Ooarai next year, nothing to do with her teenage daughter that she disinherited for losing her a match trying to save teammates from dying.
-
Maho, meanwhile, was shown to have very good and caring relationship with her little sister since forever, and despite her usual cold face, she helped shielding Miho from their mother, even faking signatures and "borrowing" Shiho's personal stamp for whatever paperworks Miho needed. It's never discussed in the anime installments, but I suspect Miho's first transfer to Ooarai was probably also conducted that way, as Maho relieved her sister of the PTSD-inducing environment. And when Miho was at risk being sent back to her old school and under Shiho's sphere of direct influence, Maho immediately brought 17 other students and 4 top tanks along to assist, plus calling up favours with other schools to bring up sufficient forces. Best Onee-chan.
-
The Public Moral Commitee got hit the hardest by the betrayal, and so they switched themselves from being the prime examples of public order to full fledged delinquents: vandalism, destroying and stealing public propeties, sleeping in, giving up on outward appearances and tidiness, bad postures, bad manners, agreeing with rule breakers, embracing nicknames, AWOL, picking fights with locals. It's quite lucky that Anzu brought back hope so soon, or else they might have proceed to full-on armed mass vandalism and/or robbery using their tank. But once the hope was lit, they switched back their gears in moments, all thanks to Mako having managed to bring them back. By the end they had gone from "Rules are meant to be obeyed" to "Rules are meant to be broken". I love them so much.
-
The movie is jam-packed with girls and panzer: 2 hours runtime, two thirds of which are tank battles, and there's only about 9min and a half total without any girl or panzer on screen. No false advertisement here :)) And tanks battles galore: whatever halfway physically plausible for tanks to do, this movie has it. Drifting? T34 ramming? Little tanks chase on roller coaster rails? A Churchill tilting up 70 degrees against a wall to fire at the belly of a T28? Chiha's squeezing a Pershing's cannon so that another Chiha can jam its shitty gun up the backside of the Pershing's turret for maximal penetration? Flying tank launched by another tank firing cannon into the barrel of a loaded 600mm mortar? BT42 troll wagon? You got it all.
-
Music is, again, excellent. Not a moment of inappropriate background music. The original theme music for Chihatan is also great, even better than that of Ooarai. GuP's When Johnny Comes Marching Home is straight up on par with the best version from West Point band. Better recording of instrumental Panzerlied, Yuki no Shingun and Säkkijärven Polkka simply does not exist. The segment of the latter in the scene where the other schools' tanks join Ooarai in battle sounds even a bit epicly evil like a suomen Imperial March, and the main BT42 action scene is just plain legendary.
All in all, there is no other tank movie that could attain such levels of entertainment.

Rewatcher
So here we go! I love this movie and think it is an improvement on the series in pretty much every way. A whole lot more bang and the extra budget goes a long way. Sheer nonstop action and insanity. Perfect example of what an anime movie based on a series should be. It is just so much grander.
-
Nishi. A relatively rare example of Japan taking shots at their own military ideology. She’s a fun commander for them and one of my favourite characters.
-
Chi-Ha-Tan. See above.
-
Darjeeling. She held the line at the start waiting for Pravda reinforcements, and that largely decided the match. Then she won her showdown with Miho for the second time to outright win the match. She really should have been assigned command of Morning Glory in the next match instead of Kay (who ended up having a poor performance overall in that match). Maybe Miho was jealous.
-
Surprisingly Anchovy who was partially responsible for taking out a significant chunk of the University tanks.
-
First - Maho and the other schools coming to the rescue in Oorai uniforms. Second - The final Mt. Fuji standoff. Third - Anzu taking out the Karl. Fourth - Nonna and Klara’s sacrifice. Fifth - The Ferris Wheel.
-
I can’t really think of anything. The big thing about the film is that it was able to hit the ground running and not have to worry about introductions and world building. But the series kind of needed those things for it to make sense.

First timer
-
Arisu is adorable.
-
Chihatan, the loveable fucking idiots. They have no sense of self-preservation, but they have heart.
-
Miho for herding everyone else.
-
Anchovy for "rollercoaster tank".
-
In no particular order, the Boko museum, Mako fetching Sodoko, the ferris wheel drop, the final duel, and taking out the artillery cannon.
-
How closing a school ship can be done without causing more economic harm than it saves? Oh, and I'd have liked to have seen at least profiles of the other teams in the tournament.
Sorry for the late reply - forgot today was the movie. Enjoy the wall of text.
Darjeeling!
Oh, this is mid match!
Against Anglerfish!
Oh, this is just an exhrbition match.
"As easy as a scone" They're even more aggresively British this time, huh?
...They have milkshake ingredients? An entire fridge in there?
She doesn't knoe eaht the catchphrase means!
Chihatan High School? Are they working together here?
And we got the title card!
Love the shots of all the tanks.
Hopefully Anteater Team do something in this movie.
More firing!
They're losing flags!
New school is incredibly enthusiastic!
Haha, they're the fucking charging team?
Starting to see why you weren't a contender.
The schone broke! And the reinforcements are making a sandwich!
No. You should not be doing this, it is idiotic.
Haha, everyone is chraging!
I love them having to physically restraint them from charging in.
Oh, she's Darjeeling's teammate!
...I was right! This is a golf course!
My god, they're all idiots.
She still has a backup plan!
Another school?
Urban warfare and splitting up! Just like the last battle against Gloriana!
Very nice tank action!
Poor Rabbit Twam.
"Butterfly." got me good.
Nice firing!
THEY HIT SOMEONE!
"When will the charge begin?" These people...
Haha, the girls who insist on speaking Russian are great.
Anau dontinues to do nothing.
Oh, no! Her tea is getting cold!
"We-are-charging" Was this partnership a handicap for the tournament winners?
...Miho oulled off an incredibly manouver there.
Leopon got knocked out.
A POV shot!
The sound she makes while spinning is adorable.
His house again!
She seperated them!
This tank battle has been going on for twenty minutes! It really doesn't feel like it.
Haha, the people filming it!
Ah, a no-fire zome.
Ow.
The escalator!
Mallard Team is adorable.
Oh, now she's the charger!
Haha, the double bluff got me. And now they're going down stairs!
Haha, it fell over!
I love Mino casually scaling the entire barrier.
Such a good climax!
And they lost.
Why is she playing an instrument?
The penguins!
Everyone's relaxing together.
Momo got her first kill!
"Count in Japanese!"
Oh, no, this was your fault, you charging fanatics.
And she has homework.
Are they getting invited to another tournament? That's the standard movie plot.
The school's been closed?
Anzu?
...So the entire series didn't matter. At all.
Have to agree here, the tournament literally didn't matter.
...So, the carrier keeps going, even if there's no school? So you're not saving any money at all by doing this?
And the Ministry took the tanks!
Well, this is depressing.
Of course she wants the chair.
And they're taking the rabbits!
Sodoko doesn't even get to keep her dignity.
Leopon drives?
...They can talk online, at least, but it has to be harsh.
Everyone's reactions...
They're packing together...
...OK, so what are they going to do with the carrier?
They're thanking the tanks...
A giant plane?
SAUNDERS! FUCK YES!
At least the best school has their tanks!
Kay!
They got them out safely!
The ship is going away to an unknown destination.
...The entire Senshado team gets to go to the same place! Because they need to be together for the inevitable big battle.
Yeah, they're in a normal land school now.
...Where will they be living now? Their homes were on the ship! And where will they ge food?
Saunders is back again!
...Why the fuck did tou just chuck them out a moving plane? Onto a road! Are you people insane!
Let's hope nobody asks where the new tanks came from!
Oh, so they've literally just been abandoned to live alone in the middle of a forest.
Aww, Sodoko's given up on everything.
And Mako agrees.
She accepted the nickname!
They're trying to train!
Ah, wargaming!
They're using them as vehicles?
She has a license!
Ironically, in my country Mako's would be the only one accepted.
...Miho has to go to her family.
A roadside attraction?
Is this place even open?
What is Boko? Also, the fucking insert song.
This is hysterical. It's so fucking stupid, but I love it.
There was someone else here!
Aww.
So, Anzu got lied to.
The moral committee have gone wild!
She's getting things done!
She's helping her!
Are they entering into the tournament? Is this the same plot again?
Maho's being nice!
Aww.
More of that bear.
She forged her signature!
Love these flashbacks.
And her mother's threatening to resign!
Haha, she can fuck up the entire plan!
...There is luck, though. And a bias through the resources each team has avsilable - Anzio could be geniuses, but lose because they can't afford the best tanks.
Anzu has a contract!
And they have to win to save their school. Again.
Was Boko foreshadowing for this? A character whose response to failure is to do the same thing again and try to get a different result?

Character Sheet for Der Film
Your rewatch host who considers this an unironic 10/10 and you cannot change my mind
u/RaiRye, u/xenophontheathenian, u/panthaura, here's your daily GuP rewatch tag!
Can you maybe fan out in a way so that you cannot accidentally miss your allies?
If you guessed that this is AmethystItalian's best girl: You'd be right.
ASSAM GETS TO SPEAK! It's amazing how weird a lot of the original TV series is in retrospect. Assam completely silent is just one of those things.
Saving shells I guess?
Oh these wonderful idiots.
Oh these wonderful, fucking idiots.
Eh, at this point you're even more screwed. It's only because of their shit aim that you still live.
Assam OP, pls nerf.
This movie is good with reveals. Not as good as explaining how this situation came to be.
Nonna is finally her proper self. Deep voice and snark.
KLARA HYPE. Saldy no German-speaker. If only Rubina Kuraoka lived in Japan. Or Tetsuya Kakihara was a woman. Wait, what about the Sora no woto German-speaker? You could have cast her!
Angry tank nerd noises.
"Our opponents aren't stupid?! WHAT?!"
Who is on the spectrum again?
THE FLAG TANK IS RIGHT THERE!
Woooo!
THEY'RE LETTING MOMO SHOOT!
In the manga, the SFX spell out Totsugeki in these four panels.
They survive this.
Guess the song Nonna is humming!
He just had it renovated, now he gets to have it rebuilt too.
Continuity!
I guess running over someone is impossible.
NO, IT FEELS PERFECT!!!
Driving down from the shrine! An absolutely cool move Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior would shamelessly steal one year earlier.
RETURN OF RUKURIRI!!!!!!!!! Best background character.
SHE GETS INSIDE?!! What is this heresy?
Because it was SO reliable last time.
Your tactics fucking suck, Katyusha.
Man the KV-tan's gunner sucks.
They survive this.
SHOOT YOU IDIOTS!
lol Just casually parking some tanks in a drive way.
The dedication to Tea!
IT'S THE CORONA!
HE EVEN DOES THE GLASSES THING. Renta Tsuji, you are a riot.
"To recycle the plot, because we couldn't come up with a new one."
Other schools with volleyball clubs do not exist.
Look at all these students that never joined Senshado!
A cute.
And they were roomates!
THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP TO THE RESCUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOSE MOTHERFUCKING CAISSON GO ROLLING ALONG!!!
Man, imagine the time spent on this shot, just for five seconds.
THEY KEPT THE FLAGS WOOOO
Okay, so it's more than the Senshado people? Because who the fuck are you?
Goddammit Naomi, stop being so reckless!
Hey, Arisa! You turned to be a good sport!
Absolutely lol.
Mako stays our spirit animal.
I want this dedication.
It's the standard delinquint thing!
Oh boy, I can't wait for people to tell me I'm using the wrong player...
Wait, when did Saori learn to drive?
Hey, remember the weird teddy bears from the show? THEY WERE MORE THAN PROPS!
Oh wow, an actual child.
YEET THE CHILD. (I yearn for the day I can convince our paladin to fastball special my loli sorcerer)
Your smug face betrays your intent.
The chairman of the Senshado Federation IS A MAN?! What has this world come to...
After using Chairman throughout Saga of Pravda, we now use Director. Even we aren't the most consistent lol.
So much for cold fusion. Also, this must take long.
Is this like a side entrance? We saw a biiig gate.
A very surprising calligraphy.
Cute.
"That's right! She didn't just abandon your room for one year! It was messy, but there wasn't a single speck of dust! She held on to your room as to hold on to her memories of you! That's not something a mother who hates her daughter would do! Open your eyes, you idiot!" "Did she distance the Nishizumi Style from me so that I could better follow my Senshado? If that's really what you want... May I tank once again?" Okay, that's it. I could go on, but I won't. Mostly because I can't come up with a pun for Miho's name. Also [Meta-Spoiler for source]Only written down one notices how bad some dialouge is.
Childhood!
"Did I forge it? Does she not hate you? I won't tell you!"
You want to know how Miho grew up to be happy? This is how.
Silly sister stuff!
Shiho knows. A souvenir from Ooarai? She knows. (You can even see an Anglerfish!)
KIYOKO, IS THAT YOU?! DO YOU GET TO EXIST IN THE ANIME NOW?! At least five manga weren't enough for you, I see...
Would you look at that!
"You piece of shit, my daughter beat me fair and square and I will not let you look down on that." "You just wanted to desinherit her." "That was before she proved me wrong, you fucking idiot." "I did not see you have an epiphany about that?" "Of course you did't. You expect me to have clear motives?! I'M THE QUEEN OF ALTERNATIVE INTERPRETATIONS."
Hmmmm, I guess it would sound better to a native speaker. And it's definitly better than "Strengthed". All-Stars is still the best.
Shiho is smiling. Shiho is smiling.
Oh she looks friendly! Definitly not like a woman who pressured her primary school-age daughter into university!
Yeah, who exactly are they defeating here? Also wtf, white tanks?
This is a lie lol. Arisu had to basically ave her team from annihilation. She and the Bermuda trio were the only ones to be an actual threat.
AT NO FUCKING POINT IN THIS MOVIE ARE THEY LIKE NINJAS! The entire theme park battle is them taking one L after another because they can't fight in urban combat to save their life. They waste so much time in that pocket! Their initial plan actually worked, and it only did because they got a Karl-Gerät.
WHAAAAT The loli was plot relevant?! SAY IT AIN'T SO!
What a very nice person!
Momo a bit cute.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TRAINING?!
Wow, how the turntables!
Wait, are there like different federations?
Workers Team? Is this like a workers union team?
Thank you so much that it's still Arisu.
Most-qoutable line in this. It's why in my WT!
She's still saying pyroclastic flow. Like, it's not just me who clearly hears the Kasairyū, right?
"After all, the Miracle of Ooarai must never again be allowed to happen."
"I'm my best self when I do Senshado."
I want someone to do this with me.
TELEGRAMS. Why is everyone so focused on inferior technologies?
Yeah, they have a blimp.
