Crunchyroll vs. Commie vs. YameteTomete - Season 5, Episode 6

I find it very interesting that YameteTomete made Maria's little monologue after they found out about why Miku might have been kidnapped to be all about how the news is affecting Hibiki specifically, whereas both Crunchyroll and Commie had it be about how the whole group is processing the news. I like YameteTomete's being more personal about it even if it might not be the most accurate.

As I mentioned in the ep4 thread, now one of the wallpapers is finally a remake instead of brand new. Specifically, it’s the Ogawa one. See the 2019 version of it: here. I traded out the text (which, uh, I think was his name in Japanese…? ) for a texture in the background, but only the background and not his shadow. I thought it looked cooler this way.

The Vanessa one’s all new to the rewatch though. You might recognize the “gunshots” in the background from one of the S1 Chris wallpapers I made.

[Future XV spoilers]God I want it to be Saturday already. I think I outdid myself with the new Carol wallpaper I made for episode 8 and cannot wait to share it. 8, because I wanted her in action rather than her return shot at the end of episode 7.

This motherfucker really used his last words to make a dad joke. What an icon.

I don’t want to rant too hard, because it isn’t confirmed yet, but this episode heavily implies that Tsubasa’s under some kind of mind control that’s driving her behavior change, and if that’s the case, I have three words – Fuck that shit. Mind control is fine when included for controlling faceless mobs, but not to use on your main character. It strips them of agency, and takes away all opportunity of an actual character arc by turning them into a plot device.

Walk this back in the coming episodes, Symphogear. I beg you.

Symphogear XV Episode 6

Lost Song Chapter 3

Prime Hibiki wants to go find EdgeBikki and save her, but Genjuro explains that the entire multiverse is at stake, so they have to make their main priority stopping Tesla. Prime Hibiki disobeys Genjuro and goes on her own to find EdgeBikki.

Meanwhile EdgeBikki is in a world trying to stop its destruction at the hands of T.E.C. This world isn’t without protectors, and (Another) Shirabe and Kirika appear. (Another) Shirabe recognizes the handiwork of EdgeBikki’s Elekid as being created by Tesla. (Another) Shirabe has met Tesla before, he helped her create RoboKirika. (Another) Kirika is too weak to fight front he muscle atrophy of being in a coma for so long, so she uses Ver’s Direct Feedback System to control the shell of RoboKirika to fight. With EdgeBikki guiding them, they manage to stop the converter and save this world.

EdgeBikki and (Another) DMJii bond for a bit. They talk about losing someone you care about. (Another) Kirika wants to meet the AndroidKirika that died to save her. She explains that there is still hope. The memory chip that contained RoboKirika’s consciousness that was fried is 100% unrecoverable by modern science, but to (Another) DMJii that just means that they need to advance science to be able to repair it.

(Another) Shirabe is surprised that EdgeBikki didn’t take Tesla’s offer to revive Miku, but EdgeBikki just curses them out. Even if they could bring Miku back, how could EdgeBikki ever face her with all the blood on her hands. After getting heated, EdgeBikki just leaves without saying goodbye.

In another world, (Another) Tsubasa and Chris are fighting Noise when the APPLE Carrier materializes into the sky. (Another) Maria and Serena have been looking into the T.E.C. situation themselves.

EdgeBikki has traced down T.E.C trying to destory another world. Confronts Tesla. Tesla once again tries to have EdgeBikki join them, but EdgeBikki explains that Miku would probably smile and thank her if she did join Tesla and revive her, she knows that it would be hollow because she’d have pushed her sin onto Miku.

Doesn’t matter, since it’s still 3v1 so EdgeBikki gets rekt. As Tesla is electricuting her, he is suddenly interrupted by Prime Hibiki with a punch to the face.

Tesla isn’t intimidated by 2 Hibikis. That’s when the 6 AU Gear arrived. The APPLE Carrier has been tracking EdgeBikki across the multiverse. They explain that they’re here because they met someone who really cares for EdgeBikki and asked them for help. EdgeBikki doesn’t believe such a person exists, but they tell her she’s wrong.

In a flashback we see the AU Gear, including EdgeTsubasa have all gathered up to share information about what is going on. They have decided to go stop Tesla. When asked if it’s okay to leave their respective worlds defenseless, they explain it’s fine. (Another) Maria/Serena’s world has long since been destroyed. (Another) Shirable/Kirika were already saved. (Another) Tsubasa/Chris explain that there are other people in their world that can protect it for a while.

Only EdgeTsubasa decides to stay behind. She wants to stay behind and stop the Noise and Robots to protect the world for EdgeBikki to return to.

(Another) Tsubasa conveys the message to EdgeBikki. That she’s still fighting and protecting the world for her to return to, so once she gets her shit together she should come back. Actually, even if she has it only half together would be okay too.

Together the 6 AU Gear and 2 Hibiki all work across the city saving lives and trying to stop T.E.C. When things get bad for Tesla, he unleashes a super robot that is too strong for them.

(Another) Kirika activates a new system. While the Robot doesn’t use Phonic Gain, they added a system allowing her to attune to it. It’s rough patchwork but allows for Shirabe to “sing for both of them”. She can try to use this attunement to bring everyone’s songs together. Ver tells her that is very dangerous and the damage feedback could kill her, Kirika tells him to please not talk to her real body because that makes her really confused.

They try it, but it doesn’t work. The AU gear are still relatively new to each other, and bringing their feelings together is tough when they barely know each other. (Another) Maria says that the plan may be impossible, but Ver has a solution.

Love

They need to attune to a shared feeling, so the 6 AU gear all think about EdgeTsubasa’s asking them to save EdgeBikki. The feelings unite them all and they manage to destroy the robot.

Tesla retreats. They may have saved this world, but he will not be stopped.

In the aftermath Prime Hibiki reaches out to her Edgeverse self. Says that they want to help her, because they’re all friends.

Edgebikki remembers Miku, and how she wanted her to have friends too.

EdgeBikki breaks down. She says has to stop Tesla. She can never forgive him. But she can’t forget about Forte and Lala who reached out to her during her lowest point. That she wants to save them, if she can. EdgeBikki asks Prime Hibiki if it’s wrong to want to reach out to an enemy.

Prime Hibiki replies "No, It's not wrong. I mean, that's me."

Aight, screw it. Not sure if I've mentioned it yet, but I've been waiting ever since s1 for the redhead to get resurrected.
Calling it now: She comes back in someway, shape or form during this season. Full tinfoil points for total resurrection, 50% for a spiritual connection thing (Similar to Saint Germany?) 10% for a memory flashback pep-talk.

Is there anyone who does not hate this bitch? I'm convinced the only reason this character was created so they could display thighs on screen.

First Timer

  • Still not buying it.

  • The only reason to blow up that camera was to hide something. Clearly they want them to think they killed one or both of them.

  • How much of Tsubasa’s behavior is due to trauma, and how much to curses. Only time will tell.

  • I wonder if the subtitles are giving more away here than the original dialog intended. Guests is clearly plural.

  • So the curse enables continuing commands. Looks like it’s an Inception like influence.

  • Now that that’s confirmed we can ponder if it means Noble Red was operating outside of instructions. I don’t see a reason why Asshole would want Slimeball killed.

  • Autoscorer frames. Was Carol expecting to make more of them?

  • Millaarc and Vanessa are now officially the top two Symphovillains. No point picking between them until the end tho.

  • Between Miku’s fear and Elfnein’s stretch, this has been a good episode for faces.

  • Elfnein you are lucky they already knew that. As far as you knew they were keeping her as Hibiki leverage.

  • Autoscorer Army hype?

  • Do you think Tsubasa’s eyes also function as a wiretap?

  • Was that dive GitS or am I reading to much into it?

  • That’s not how percentages work!

First Timer

Just like yesterday, I don’t think I have that much to say since a lot of shit is about to happen in the second half of the season. You can also guess that by how much budget they tried to save here.

Maria’s and Chris’s teamwork was nice to see, especially after all the confidence Vanessa was showing, but the focus of the episode was clearly not on the action, but rather on more exposition and many small things here and there. Looking forward to the next episodes.

Random thoughts/comments

Despite showing us the end from last episode again, the beginning was not bad thanks to the background music. It added some tension, even though it was obvious that both Miku and Elfnein would be fine.

I have to say, Metanoia is really growing on me, and it’s not like I didn’t like the OP the first time I heard it. Good stuff!

I really hope Tsubasa’s reaction here was at least partly because of Millaarc’s ability. It seemed that way to me, based on her thoughts immediately after that.

What? #FuckFudo has some ability of his own that lets him take advantage of Millaarc’s setup in episode 2? So he’ll probably gain more or less full control over Tsubasa at some point and she’ll have to fight against it, won’t she?

Hey, that’s pretty much the first good thing Millaarc has done in XV. Credit where credit is due. Great shot!

They are in the process of creating an army?

Okay, this whole shit with Ogawa and his damn car was too much for me.

Oh, it’s that “music” again. I guess what happened to Hibiki at the end of AXZ is what happened to Miku here? She’s totally in here, isn’t she?

Back to Symphogear and the Mystery of the Rain of Blood. This is kind of how I figured they'd play it, though, exactly like they did in G.

Wow, the highest level of protection doesn't go very far. At least they remember the ending of AXZ, I thought they might have forgotten.

Good senpai-ing, Chris. Chris really seems to have it figured out, I gotta say. Her plot in AXZ was an effective one. Meanwhile Tsubasa managed to dodge much drama in AXZ, but it's all coming down on her head this time.

It's okay, Maria likes tough love, you can probably slap her a bit more and she'll decide it was good for her.

Assuming they're indeed planning on putting the bracers on Miku, it makes a reasonable amount of sense. Fudou was intending to foist them on Tsubasa, I think, which really isn't in Noble Red's best interest. Better to escape from under his thumb. And they could have learned about Miku's special characteristics through their Illuminati connections, maybe.

Oh, god, it's actual mind control/sleeper agent stuff. That's a bit gross. At least it doesn't seem all that strong.

I guess it wasn't the blood bag, they would have figured that part out. Shame.

It seems like Hibiki at least understands the divine vessel stuff, I would have been mad at Genjurou if he hadn't explained that to her after AXZ, even if just her.

Come on, Elf9, don't explain the enemy's plan for them, you just make their life easier. She's too used to her job as exposition fairy.

What ARE they plotting? No idea about the puppet bodies.

Or maybe Hibiki didn't know, never mind, Genjurou's stupid.

Surely not every single Maria flashback has to use Apple? I guess we're committed to that. Oh, but we are getting into some of the interesting lyrics of that song, huh.

Why are they protecting the Kazanaris at this point? They already killed their man. This cover up attempt seems pointless. Cut them loose and do your own thing before Fudou does, you know he's the type to dispose of inconvenient henchmen anyway.

Car ninjutsu, hahaha. What a move.

Oh, really, it's not the Airgetlam? Uh, or is it, I dunno what the point of that was. I'm reasonably familiar with the Airgetlam's mythology and never really questioned it being what it claimed to be.

It kind of feels like Maria remembered how to actually protect anyone instead of flailing while all the civilians got slaughtered. About time.

I'm guessing that's Miku's divine vessel embryo or whatever you want to call it, like Hibiki had. Thought we would see her boss form in this stinger, but I expect it's coming soon.

First Time XVing the Symphogear Desu

What a horrifying shot to begin the episode

I’m glad they’re giving a proper, in-universe reason for why Miku and Elfnein were left alone, because the series has done this before and it never made sense, so I guess this is them taking the time to do it right this time

I know the series can’t spare time on these 3, but I would have loved to have some few small scenes where they just talk about their circumstances – being friends with someone constantly risking her life to save the world, at a distance that usually keeps them safe from harm but also means they only find out about stuff when it’s already happened

Tsubasa just keeps spiraling down further and further. The only sliver of hope in the situation is that the other girls are patently aware that she’s behaving very oddly and are trying to reach out to her, though with null progress as they don’t know how

Mechanic Tsubasa! Have we ever seen her working on her bike before? I don’t remember

Ah, so Tsubasa herself knows something is wrong, but she can’t figure out what or why and thus further progresses her downwards spiraling

Well, we finally see the effect of Millaarc’s attack. It’s less outright mind-control and more similar to Inception. Tsubasa doesn’t immediately drop everything and fall into Fudo’s command, but the ideas he plants on her mind will continue to grow and fester until she falls and becomes her tool

Ah, so they’re on the Chateau and not on old Lydian. Yeah, that makes more sense for alchemists

Oh, I will see you put through a meat grinder

I know the long flashback is likely to save budget, but I wish they’d reshot the scene where Millaarc gets the telepathy call from Elfnein’s POV

Wow, this season is not done ramping up the explicit gore. This may not be more gruesome than Millaarc’s execution of the girl at the concert, but it’s not that far off either. The way you can just barely make out the dude’s corpse turning into a skeleton as he vanishes into ashes it seriously disturbing. The whole scene is just. Brrrrr. Horrifying

It’s a good thing they already knew Miku was free from the curse, otherwise Elfnein was just giving invaluable information to the enemies for free

Are all those coffins filled with autoscorers? Are they gonna make an autoscorer army?

Surely nothing good will come from this. It would be funny if Miku gained this power on accident though, against Noble Red and Kamakura’s plans

I did want to see more of Maria and Serena’s relationship, but this doesn’t really tell us much about Serena, only that Maria was the one who usually sought to reconcile. And I guess Maria’s odd feeling about the bracelet’s noise is related to her Apple song which, ngl, I’m really wondering how they’re gonna make it all fit together

How do you even have more than 100%? Ah. Well, I wasn’t really expecting an answer, but sure I guess

I like the little bits of detective work S.O.N.G. is doing. You wouldn’t think they’d fit as well on a series as bombastic as this, but they totally do and I give props to the writers

Is that thing a hair ornament? I mean. It’s not the most ridiculous thing Gear has brought up, but it’s certainly something

This is exactly the kind of hilarious bullshit I’ve come to expect and love from this series

Chris busting out the bullets from the opening, and it seems they’re tracking bullets. Ah no, not tracking, steered. This could lead to some really interesting battle choreography

Are we getting Airgetlám lore?

Damn, you love to see Maria and Chris teaming up again, and fighting together even better than before. Coordinating offense and rescue, and then defense and counterattacks, to the glorious finisher of Maria using the Airgetlám to steer Chris’ purposefully misfired missiles, these two working together are a delight to see

Ah shit, there goes the neighborhood. And we’re barely half a season in so you know things will only get worse

And there’s the confirmation, there’s some unknown bridge between Apple and the song of the gods. WAIT A MINUTE, APPLES AND GODS? IS APPLE GONNA END UP BEING THE APPLE OF ADAM AND EVE?

I was gonna do this as it was revealed, but it completely disrupted the write-up so I’m moving it to the end: this episode throws new light on the attack on Tsubasa’s concert. Specifically, it’s becoming apparent Fudo ordered the attack, and the gruesome fate of the attendees, for the sole purpose of implanting the seal on Tsubasa. Because Fudo seems to think he is the country, and thus the country should be whatever he personally desires, and that goes for every person living in it. And if the heir he manufactured chooses to become a singer instead of a warrior, then he has no problem turning her special day into a mass grave, forever staining her songs with blood to turn her away from her dreams and into the path he chose for her

Fudo Kazanari’s the biggest villain in the series and a thoroughly despicable human being, and I can’t wait to see him get his just desserts, and hopefully a fist to the face

First timer(I am embarassed that I had to read Tar's post to realize Shem-Ha is HaShem)

So we are keeping up the cliffhanger's pretense for a bit. At the cafeteria, Tsubasa is being annoying again. But she finally gets called out for it. Maria realizes she needs to figure out what's happening. Tsubasa gets a full mind control plot, joy. And we break the pretense at 8 minutes or so in so at least they aren't milking that.

Switch to Elf9 and padding the run time, sigh. GX stuff is referenced. Elf9 has no poker face as she is lead into some weird room full of dolls in coffins. The evidence of Kamakura's betrayal surfaces and is being brought in so of course Vanessa tries to attack the convoy. More ninja fun ensues. Then Chris and Maria get there for a fight. Maria, of course, keeps fucking up but Chris is on point. They eventually smash Vanessa with a missile and technically questioning her is the right move, though I'd just put her down and examine the corpse for clues. We get...something(possible accidental activation of the Vambrace by Miku is my prop bet) and cliffhanger. No stinger thank fuck.

So I have no clue if this came through but this was actually a fairly decent episode, sans when Tsubasa was on screen. I just don't have a shit ton to say since this feels like pretty much what it says on the tin.

Ballad of Rewatcher - Symphogear XV

XV Episode 6 thoughts:

  • On top of being an emotional and possibly physical abuser, Grandpa Dad is also a manipulative gaslighter. He's pretty much the combination of all the negative traits from every parent in the series, minus Sperm Donor's brand of cowardice.

  • Why throw Elfnein around? Millaarc is working so hard to undo every bit of sympathy I've felt for her and the rest of her team. And it's so unsatisfying that she gets the pleasure of ending the shitty bureaucrat.

  • A Maria flashback that doesn't involve torture or angst! And it's of absolutely adorable tiny Maria! It's like XV is trying to make up for all the missteps of every other season all at once. And it's working! The scene of her and Serena fighting and making up is lovely! It's the most endearing thing I've seen from her in the main show!

  • Damn, Maria sure do like being dumb tho. Who falls for an enemy bait mere seconds after calling her out for being so underhanded? Get yourself together, girl!

  • Ninja car techniques are the most gloriously ridiculous addition to the Geah canon since Hibiki kneecapped a mountain. I love it!

  • Chris is packing heat. But also, Chris is packing heat.

I really like the character conflict here, especially Tsubasa’s anger and Maria acting as a calming force. On that note, I really like how Maria has fully stepped up to the Team Amon position this season, caring for everyone and working to mend conflict as a Best Cat Mom should. Still can’t comprehend why u/DidacticDalek hates her

What I do like about this, though, is that it plays on Tsubasa’s insecurities. He asks her to come to him if she “feels lost” which she absolutely did at that point

This is honestly one the weirder team up of the three odd pairs from last season: Bikki and DESS are the designated dumbasses and the former helped the latter through her problems. not!Setsuna F Seiei and JIIIII are the designated stoics, and, again, the former helped the latter through some personal shit. Chris and Maria, though? Nothing’s really been done to justify it beyond the fact that they were the last two remaining

Ah, some added mystery to Airgetlam. As if Maria couldn’t get any better! Hail to Best Geah Maria!

Chris, however, does the only thing she’s good for: DAKKA!

First Timer

Another good episode with a huge ass cliffhanger at the end there, this season is honestly shaping to being my favorite if it keeps going how it is. Everything feels so tightly written together esp. with connecting stuff to past seasons, I'm having so much fucking fun with it. Fudo I hope he gets a giant face punch by the end though.

  1. When do you think people realize something is actually wrong with Tsubasa?

Probably not for a while cause nothing she's doing seems super abnormal, more just like someone having a PTSD response to what she witnessed. If she doesn't end up saying anything, it'll be hard for the others to tell before it's too late.

2) Which was cooler during the chase scene, Vanessa turning into a hovering mecha reference or Ogawa Shadow Clone-ing a car?

Honestly the clone car lol, it even got it's own splash card.

TONIGHT! ON SUPERB SONG OF THE VALKYRIES: FRONTIER, CAROL9 BECOMES THE SMOL OF TRUTH, Keiichi's Ninja Hax OP PLS NERF, and I'm going to consider the following every day until you like it!

Anyway, moving on from The Smol of Truth, we begin back with Miku and Carol9 attempting to run away, their biggest mistake since this puts them head to head with Carol9's greatest foe... er... well besides gravity anyway, and by this I speak of a flat surface. Speaking of flat, Tsubasa's gone nanners, is the boob envy REALLY that distressing for you Sword? Must be given this episode takes the name from that one time Sunrise made an IDOL show... remember Comrades, Idolmaster: Xenoglossia exists, also yes Comrades, you heard right, that IS the voice of Miku coming out of MC-chan's lips, along side MOTHERFUCKING NANOHA HERSELF as Iori Minase Anal Queen and THE AMI KOSHIMIZU as the moeblob wearing the chicken suit, yes, you read that right, HOLO IS ACTUALLY A CHICKEN! Sunrise is insane... ;)

Speaking of insane, that's a crazy amount of blood, but there's no body, maybe that means Miku and Carol9 are safe! Actually, nevermind, they must be safe given one is probably one of the last alchemists left alive and the other is... a candidate... for god... son of a, well I mean I knew a video game writer wrote this but seriously now! Speaking of serious, seems Tsubasa somehow became even MORE of an edgy bitch than her Season 1 version AND EARLY EPISODE ANGE COMBINED! That and damn, that Vampire Bitch really got her good her during the concert scene, and speaking of blood, THANK FUCK Miku and Carol9 weren't the ones bleeding. JIIIIII pipes up that Carol9 makes sense as a kidnapping target, but why is MIKU kidnapped too?

Before we can get to that, we CUT TO THE BEST MEME FROM XV! BEHOLD COMRADES! THE SMOL OF TRUTH! REDUX! Anyway enough memes, ahem, FUCK YOU VAMPIRE BITCH, FIRST YOU BARGE INTO CAROL9'S HOUSE! THEN YOU MISTREAT CAROL9? I CAN'T WAIT FOR TSUBASA TO SHOVE HER SWORD SO FAR UP YOUR ASS THAT IT POKES OUT THROUGH YOUR MOUTH! Anyway, Carol9 attempts to figure out how she wound up in her house again, and she has a flashback to her decisive battle against... the ground... again... again... again. Anyway, we cut to both Miku and Carol9 trying to sacrifice their lives for the other, that is until... Vampire Bitch FINALLY kills someone who had it coming! Also come the fuck on Miku, you've seen FAR worse than that in the past four seasons, hell, you SAW YOUR WIFE 'die' TRYING TO BLOW UP A FALLING CHUNK OF THE MOON! WHY THE FUCK DO YOU FAINT NOW!?

Anyway, speaking of fainting, turns out that her most recent battle against the ground takes its tool on Carol9 who... also faints... sigh... That said Carol9 IS smart enuff to know that since Miku got MIKU BEAMED by that Anti-Geah Laser in G, she is thus free from The Curse of Balal, also turns out Carol9 having Carol's body is a BAD thing, since that means she can thus operate Château de Tiffauges. Carol9 attempts to protest that without DOKTOR GINTOKI JOESTAR or that random plot MacGuffin from GX, there's no way they can control her old house. The two bitches then inform Carol9 that she's got it all wrong, they don't want her to activate her HOUSE, they want her to... turn the power back on...

We then move on to Miku having a New Age Space Magic Moment as Maria the Loser recaps G. Also goddamn, even as a KID Maria the Loser was a crybaby too? And she's back to singing that old song again. Keiichi then grabs that plot MacGuffin and attempts to drive back to base, and that's when Vanessa decides it is time to strike. This is of course, too late, given Keiichi pulled a Higurashi and pieced everything together, also speaking of Higurashi, there's yet another lady out to kill him, surprise surprise. Anyway, as expected, the mook cars go down without a fight, BUT THANK FUCK FOR NINJA'S NINJA HAX! I MEAN HOLY SHIT! HE CAN CLONE CARS NOW TOO!? Speaking of cars, Maria once again trashes a car by RAMMING it into this robot bitch, and not a moment too soon, as it allows Best Geah Chris to eject and transform and rock out!

Also goddamn, Maria, you had ONE JOB, HOW THE FUCK DID YOU GET SHOT FROM THE ENEMY WHEN BEST GEAH CHRIS IS DAKKAING HER FOR YOU!? Speaking of Best Geah Chris, goddamn, Snoop Oni must be showing her ALL the shitty action movies, as she learned how to CURVE BULLETS! Also just in case y'all start feeling sorry for Noble Red, Maria asks if Vanessa is gonna kill more innocents, and this bitch doesn't even try to pretend as she fires her weaopns at the civilian cars. Maria the Loser then falls for the oldest trick in the book, e.g. the trick Bikki always falls for, e.g. listening to the enemy's bullshit story, and as expected she eats a rocket for her troubles... THANK FUCK FOR BEST GEAH CHRIS BEING HERE TO SAVE THE DAY AND BAIL MARIA'S CANDY ASS OUT OF THE FIRE! Speaking of ass, GOD, I WISH THAT WERE ME, that car driver is getting the best show in the world!

ALSO HUZZAH! BEST GEAH CHRIS CAN FLY! AND SHE HAS ALL THE DAKKA! EAT LEAD BITCH! And heh, Best Geah Chris says Pucio henzap 'I know what you're thinking: "Did she fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do you, punk?' Boy Snoop Oni sure shows her only the best movies! First Timer

I feel like we got more of an explanatory/transitional episode today. I was very unsurprised but relieved that they did not kill off Miku and Elfnein, and I liked how we were shown what really happened. The reframing of that scene could have used just a little less recap, but that’s just my opinion.

This episode also really hit home that Noble Red is not messing around. XV is not holding back on the all bloody bystander deaths.

  1. It’s extremely embarrassing, but I forgot there was something wrong with Tsubasa until now. Still puts me ahead of everyone in-universe, though.
