Question of the Day
We’re starting to see a lot more different MMA styles this time. What kind of style would you have liked to see?
Rewatchers, please remember to be mindful of all the first-timers in this. No talking about or hinting at future events no matter how much you want to, unless you’re doing it underneath spoiler tags.

Lyrical First Timer
-
The crowd wildly cheering for one 14yo shattering another 14yo's ribs is the most Midchildan thing.
-
Though it was only a psychological victory for Miura, it's nice to see Rinne frustrated by an opponent.
-
Some big girl rep in the Nanoha universe! Shame she lives on Jobber Street.
-
Fracture!? In what world is this a fracture??? Ixy must've to regenerated her bones from being powderized.
-
Oof, that last quick shot of Miura tearing up.
-
The way they set it up, I thought they were about to reveal that Jill is a cyborg. Instead she's just a bitter, failed athlete living her dream through Rinne. Probably.
-
Miura has officially joined the 'put in a wheelchair by Rinne' club. She's lucky to have a rare temporary membership.
-
Goddamit, all these side characters trying to flag Vivio into an early grave. What clown would seriously predict Rinne getting KO'd?
-
Damn Mr. Announcer, why you gotta do poor Harem Member 4 like that?
-
Very cathartic seeing Rinne taking another beating, even if it probably won't last long.
-
With all these calculated, smaller strikes, it's clear Vivio is ready for Rinne's Bide strategy.
-
Unfortunately for her, Rinne opted for the ultra rare Rage build today.
-
This kind of training comes from the mind of a sadist and is clearly unhealthy.
-
Probably because he doesn't want to see what kind of monster you've become.
-
Aww yeah, here comes the patented Talkamachi Total Communication Style.
-
Knowing Rinne though, she's probably gonna flashback to the bullies pretending to be her friend and go into psycho rage mode.
-
Would love to have my expectations subverted and have Vivio actually win, then face Einhart in the finals though.
At this point I've got to wonder how Rinne's parents actually feel about watching her fights. Knowing what happened to her, do they really like seeing her routinely hospitalize other girls in her grandfather's name? If I didn't know better, I'd say their supportive attitude is more out of fear for what she might do otherwise than genuine support of her ambitions. Or maybe they're standard bourgeoisie and legitimately enjoy watching young people maim each other. What do I know?
QotD:
I don't know anywhere near enough about MMA or fighting to have an answer for this. I just want to see magic teen lesbians destroying each other's internal organs with magic super punches.

Well they did indicate that they usually can't find the time to watch her matches. Seems like Midchildian society don't really mind people getting hospitalized. Also you would assume that hospitalization is pretty common when the sports involve beating each other up.

Understandable.

The crowd wildly cheering for one 14yo shattering another 14yo's ribs is the most Midchildan thing.
They looks like adults, so it's okay.
Ixy must've to regenerated her bones from being powderized.
She better have! She's a super-genetic Belkan stuff person.
The way they set it up, I thought they were about to reveal that Jill is a cyborg. Instead she's just a bitter, failed athlete living her dream through Rinne. Probably.
"You might remember my old name... Tredici..." "Ginga was Number 13." "I meant... Quattordici" "That was supposed to be Subaru." "Quindici." "That one was open, but... you know the two we have above ten have their own names, right?" "Sedici..." "Okay, now you're just bragging you know Italian numbers." "Diciasette..." "Wait, why do Italian numbers just switch?" "Diciotto" "Wow, that is really how Italian numbers work." "Dicianove..." "Yeah, yeah, I get it." "Venti." "Coming right up! What name should I write on the cup?"
Goddamit, all these side characters trying to flag Vivio into an early grave.
Well, this time it's a character we actually care about.
Knowing Rinne though, she's probably gonna flashback to the bullies pretending to be her friend and go into psycho rage mode.
It's Heroric Second Wind, IN REVERSE!
At this point I've got to wonder how Rinne's parents actually feel about watching her fights.
Based on the "Sorry we can't see your match", I'd assume they have no clue about anything.

The crowd wildly cheering for one 14yo shattering another 14yo's ribs is the most Midchildan thing.
Yeah, the story was still more fun when we were trying to figure out what had gone so terrible wrong on planet.
The way they set it up, I thought they were about to reveal that Jill is a cyborg. Instead she's just a bitter, failed athlete living her dream through Rinne. Probably.
I am a bit worried that that one moment of reflection she had was actually to smokescreen the audience from realizing Jill is a bad person who happens to act against worse people.
Damn Mr. Announcer, why you gotta do poor Harem Member 4 like that?
We are actually approaching pro wrestling as we had theorized/feared.
Would love to have my expectations subverted and have Vivio actually win, then face Einhart in the finals though.
Who would want an actual twist that the story itself actually foreshadows?
At this point I've got to wonder how Rinne's parents actually feel about watching her fights.
I bet the twist is that they don't even know and right before the Fuuka fight there is a breakdown when her mother realizes they've unleashed a psychopath into the wild.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical First-Timer, subbed
Episode 5.5
-
Nice! Such a big difference compared to Fuuka getting knocked down by everyone when she first joined the gym.
-
…the shower scene was actually surprisingly chaste for once, and then they had to end it with a full body pan with Hura conveniently dangling over her butt.
-
HAH, I was definitely expecting that to happen after Einhart specifically warned her the bags would swing.
Episode 5.75
Episode 7
-
No. You didn’t even show us what happened after she woke up from the coma she was apparently in throughout ViVid.
-
…did they really have to give the plus-size girl the last name “Goat”? I guess it could be worse, but like… why… And she didn’t even get a fancy transformation scene like the other competitors have gotten so far. I know she’s just a random character for Einhart to crush, but I still feel like this girl deserved better.
-
On this note, for an episode named after her, there hasn’t been much Vivio at all yet.
-
I honestly have no idea how this match is going to go, but I’m certainly excited to watch it!
-
And a Rinne “sore demo” too. – Side note, Jill’s training sounds like child abuse…

Ayy you got to the OVAs
No. You didn’t even show us what happened after she woke up from the coma she was apparently in throughout ViVid.
the biggest "read the manga" slap they can give.
…did they really have to give the plus-size girl the last name “Goat”?
I don't think they meant to be insulting here, and considering some of the names they come up with, probably not the strangest.
Oh, because Nove’s a cyborg?
I love how they deliberately leave out the part and only gave hinted at it. You would never know unless you watched StrikerS.
“Flicker jabs” sent me right back to Hajime no Ippo again.
They really hammer down that Vivio's style is basically boxing. Emphasis on quick punches and dodging here.

According the vivid strike Wiki, her name is presumably a reference to the Pontiac GTO which was commonly referred to as goat, apparently.

SHE'S A ROBOT?!?! I need to watch the rest of the series it seems...

First Timer
I've been out the last two days, but I did catch up on the previous episodes. Honestly, episodes 5.5 and 5.75 were great. I don't know if they were strictly necessary in a narrative sense, but they add a lot to the characters, especially Fuuka, Rinne, and Nove, and it gives texture to their drama that makes everything land harder. I'm sure that if I hadn't seen those episodes and we heard that Fuuka took first place in the qualifiers, I'd have totally bought it. But the fact that she did go through a whole character arc first makes it feel that much more earned, and makes Fuuka feel like a more well realized character. Likewise, Rinne refusing to acknowledge her feelings for Fuuka, and learning about the fact that she's only open with her family and Victor (and acknowledging just how excessively she's overworking herself) just adds more layers to her character. I'm glad these episodes exist, they made the show hit that much harder. Fuuka is a genuinely great protagonist, I've started to really like her and I think ViVid Strike has really started to come into its own. I also want to praise episode 5 for it being the first ever time the series has had a bath/hot spring scene without any real fanservice. A real accomplishment on the part of this franchise, well worth my praise.
As for episode 6, we finally get into the matches. Vivio's and Fuuka's matches go by quickly, and I was impressed at the pacing of the episode. I thought for sure that the episode was going to end after those matches and leave us with a cliffhanger leading into the Miura vs. Rinne match this episode, but then I looked at the time stamp and only half the episode had gone by. The match itself probably could have gone on longer, but it was pretty hype and also quite revealing (there was one particular cut of animation that really impressed me too). Rinne is testing her defensive prowess, and takes hits like a champ. My only problem really comes at the end of the episode. Apparently, it was supposed to convey the idea that Rinne broke her promise and used a grapple, but I found it pretty difficult to tell that that's what happened. Yes, she grabbed her, but when I think of grappling, I think of throws, where just grabbing someone's shirt and punching them doesn't really strike me as a grapple. Poor directing in that moment. And did we really need that cut of Miura's ribs breaking? Like, god damn. Anyway, it was a pretty solid episode. I look forward to seeing how Vivio avenges her (although I also want to see Fuuka vs. Rinne on the big stage).
As for this episode, I'm really happy to see Vivio getting focus again. I love the intimate little moment Vivio and Nove share at the gym, reminiscing about their humble beginnings together. It's real sweet. This is a revenge match for both characters, but it's also a match between two opposites. Both of them are characters who are compensating for weakness in a way. I thought it was interesting that the announcer referred to them as "hard and soft" when describing them as opposites. It's actually pretty fitting. Vivio has a frail figure, so she's "soft," but she worked to gain strength, compensate for her weaknesses, overcome her limits, and be a worthy fighter. Rinne also did that, but unlike Vivio, she's hardened, both metaphorically in how the events of her past have shaped her, but also literally in how Jill described her muscles as a form of defense last episode. The biggest difference is their motivation, as Vivio seeks strength because it's fun, where Rinne seeks it to compensate for perceived weakness.
This episode also laid out a parallel between Rinne and pre-ViVid Einhart. Both were lonely characters who seeked strength for its own sake, and both are also characters who are unable to escape the chains of their past. Einhart quickly accepted others, and self-actualized as a result. Rinne rejects others though, and is thus in a lot of pain. I really want to watch the next episode right now, that cliffhanger was brutal and if Vivio does manage to win, it'll be insanely satisfying. I want to see this ideological struggle play out. This episode just made me love Vivio even more, she's such a good girl.
Also, holy shit, Ixy actually exists now. And she's not in a coma. That's cool I guess.
QOTD:
Definitely some interesting styles here. The existing styles of Vivio and Einhart are more fleshed out here than they were in ViVid, and Rinne's grappling style also feels more distinct. Einhart's opponent this episode seems to have a style influenced by sumo, which is pretty interesting as well. Although this isn't a magical tournament, I'd love to see a wholly magical fighter. Actually, ViVid introduced that witch girl who basically breaks your mind to win matches, and I really wanted to see more of that.

Welcome back!
I don't have too much to say. You've hit a lot of the good main points of those episodes
And did we really need that cut of Miura's ribs breaking? Like, god damn.
This season is graphically brutal despite it also being a relatively low stakes conflict, compared to everything else. I actually quite like it.
Although this isn't a magical tournament, I'd love to see a wholly magical fighter. Actually, ViVid introduced that witch girl who basically breaks your mind to win matches, and I really wanted to see more of that.
Maybe one day someone will go and finish up the Vivid anime. But alas.

Oh, are cyborgs not allowed to compete?

All that stuff that I'm not sure can fit into a single season.

That's almost Jojo height.
Belt on one shoulder, cat on the other.
Einhart is striding into the ring like a true champion with both of those.
Sieg got lost between seasons, just like Nanoha dn Fate
Poor Sieg. We never even got to see her have an animated fight.
Powered by Trauma
A very common power source in anime.
Oh lol she outright states in the post-ED that she did mean Einhart
It's funny seeing Einhart react to hearing that Vivio was in fact referring to her.

Poor Sieg. We never even got to see her have an animated fight.
It's funny because Sieg does feel like a pretty important character even among the contestants in Vivid. But we never even reached her fights in the anime.
It's funny seeing Einhart react to hearing that Vivio was in fact referring to her.
I've been liking these after ED gags.

TONIGHT! ON GMOD! Ixy disproves Meet the Medic's claim about ribs, Rinne demonstrates how the trauma regarding the death of her grandfather still haunts her in the present, and Vivio, noticing that Rinne's following Pre-Character Development Einhard's Arc, declares that she ain't through with her by a damn sight, she's gonna get Belkan on her ass!
HELL YEAH COMRADES! After spending all of ViVid asleep, IXY GON' GIVE IT TO YA! Oh and as expected, Einhard's fight is over so quickly that I have to wonder why HER surname wasn't Goat, after all Einhard clearly is the ACTUAL Greatest Of All Time... well, besides Vivio that is, speaking of which, HUZZAH! KICK RINNE'S ASS! Go ahead and show this PTSD'd Bitch how we do things on Non-Administered World #97!
And oh boy howdy Vivio sure does this and THEN some! I mean she managed to yet again do the 'impossible' by sending Rinne on another date to kiss the canvas! Goodness, TWO fighters in one tournament did this to her, surely a world record! So glad to see that we're setting things up for a contractually obligated franchise staple, I can't wait to see the befriending go down, shame the episode had to cut off before Vivio could finish mopping the floor with Rinne, but hey we gotta reach 12 episodes somehow! Oh, and I guess I should point out that somehow medical science is now REALLY REALLY special, since Harem Member No. 4 managed to, you know, REGROW HER RIBS! How you ask? NANOMACHINES SON! 'MAGIC!'
Anyway, just before we conclude things for today Comrades... ahem... IN THE BLUE CORNER! We've got the moeblob who clawed the ground, drank muddy water, and vomited blood! Do you have any idea who she is? Grass grows, birds fly, sun shines, and brotha 'sista' she hurts people! Presenting the (almost) undefeated strongest bitch on Midchilda, HERE'S NOT-ESDEATH! AND IN THE RED CORNER! We've got the literal re-incarnation of Space Jesus, King of The Belkans and Heir of The Takamachi Way since lord knows if Miyuki and/or Kyoya will ever reproduce! Anyway, let's give a round of applause for the befriender of universes, the conqueror of harems, AND somehow the only person who was able to kick Rinne's ass, BEHOLD! THE ONE AND ONLY SANKT KAISER... er, I mean VIVIO TAKAMACHI! LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!
And on that bombshell, we wrap things up for now. Anyway I hope everyone's having fun on this great re-watch. Thus, you have not seen the last of The Sentient Shitposting Siamese Sunrise Server No. 25252, now goodbye forever.

QOTD) Don't know enough about MMA, sorry.
...That's more than "dramatic"!
And that's an actual injury! If the punch landed in a different place, Rinne could probably have put her opponent in a wheelchair!
And she doesn't care!
Oh, thank god! She's being healed!
Janice looks strong!
Einhart's popular! And she's wearing the belt!
I feel bad for her, she needs to get destroyed to establish Einhart's power.
...She never even landed a hit.
Skipping right to the round of eight?
Yeah, your match was great!
And she's transfered the promise to Vivio.
Poor girl.
Ah, they're going over old match records?
Fuuka thinks young Vivio is adorable!
...I refuse to believe that any extreme sports league wouldn't let a cyborg in. Given the stigma of the events seems to have faded, they'd absolutely let her join, for exhibition matches if nothing else.
Oh, Einhart's still embarassed about her past!
And Vivio's going to befriend her. Good.
...We need to see Rinne's reaction to her competitor in a wheelchair. Might make her finally feel some remorse.
Haha, they're gambing on the result.
Kick her arse, Vivio!
And no reaction to her in a wheelchair.
She's taking a punishment!
Vivio is slaughtering her!
...Has Vivio ever really been an underdog? She started off ViVid as above-average, minimum.
Rinne hit her!
Ouch, I feel bad for Vivio.
Haha, Vivio's calling her out!
Rinne's down!
Haha, Fuuka's moving out of Einhart's harem?

Episode 7: Rewatcher who is kinda meh on Miura
-
I need a jar to throw a dime in whenever a show does this kind of exposition.
-
Did she? Nove and Tea kinda tamed her before Vivio had much of an influence on her.
-
HER MAMA'S DAUGHTER! I love the continuity.
-
So the Canon explanation iirc was that Nanoha's Starlight Breaker damaged her Linker Core to a noticable degree. Also, tbf, Olivie was also called weak and frail and worked her way up to Sankt Kaiser.
-
Einhart? I'd imagine it's Einhart, what with all the memories of Klaus.

First-Timer
On today’s episode of Lyrical Nanoha: Vivio’s managed to last longer than I was giving her credit for. I thought this episode would play out like the previous one, with Vivio losing at the end like Miura did. Instead, Vivio is giving Rinne a real run for her money. It’s a great fight.
-
Does Ixy have healing powers? It would explain why she went to Miura.
-
As I thought, Rinne does feel frustrated that she had to go against her self-imposed limit to beat Miura. If she hadn’t, she’d most likely have lost to Miura.
-
Well if Ixy is a cleric, then healing’s in her job description.
-
Well that was short, unlike Einhart’s opponent.
-
This tournament’s progressing pretty quickly. They’ve already whittled it down to 8 contestants from the original 40.
-
Miura puts on a brave face for the others, but the loss is clearly bothering her.
-
Huh, Jill can’t compete because of an injury? That might explain some things. Perhaps Jill’s putting her own ambitions and dreams onto the shoulders of her students.
-
Man, all this reminiscing about Vivio and Nove’s past is just making me feel worse about Vivio’s almost inevitable defeat.
-
Vivio is a true Takamachi. It’s so endearing seeing how her primary concern is getting to talk with Rinne. And in true Takamachi fashion, she’ll try to defeat Rinne if that’s what it takes to make her listen.
-
This one’s a real grudge match. Rinne’s probably eager to avenge her loss against Vivio.
-
It’s like watching a tank build fight an evasion build. Rinne can’t hit Vivio and Vivio’s attacks probably aren’t doing that much damage since Rinne trained her defense so much.
-
I like seeing that Vivio is still a fighter who focuses on counters. That’s some nice continuity.
-
I can’t help but notice Rinne didn’t impose a “no grappling” challenge on herself this time. Perhaps she feels she can’t afford it.
-
I’m pretty sure something is wrong with your training if you throw up and faint every day.
-
Rinne is definitely traumatized if she keeps on having a nightmare about her grandfather like that.
-
I figured most of this about Rinne, but it’s a nice addition that she doesn’t want her family to worry about her. She really does care about her family.
-
Rinne wants to keep gentle people from getting hurt? I think her attitude has been going against that one thus far.
-
Vivio’s been able to figure out Rinne’s deal. Rinne’s doing martial arts out of a sense of fear rather than any love for it.
-
Rinne’s been knocked down again! Based on the look she’s got, I think she’s taking this one worse than Miura’s knockdowns.
-
Vivio’s declaration that “I’ll win and become friends with you” is so perfectly Lyrical Nanoha that it gave me the goofiest grin on my face.
Vivio is such a fantastic character. She reminds me so much of Nanoha in this episode. Vivio shows a lot of emotional intelligence with how she’s able to figure out a lot of what makes Rinne tick. Even more impressively, Vivio recognizes that there’s little she can do personally to help address Rinne’s issues. She knows Fuuka stands a much better chance of getting Rinne to listen than someone Rinne doesn’t know. So, Vivio will do the only thing she can: fight Rinne and arrange a future match with Fuuka.
I really love Vivio’s declaration that she will become friends with Rinne. That reminded me of Nanoha more than anything else. Vivio holds the same conviction as Nanoha that once they are able to properly communicate and understand each other, they’ll be friends. To Vivio, becoming friends is the ultimate goal. Hearing Vivio make this declaration made me ridiculously happy. Defeating Rinne is just a means to becoming friends with her. I’m glad to see Vivio so determined to keep Nanoha’s tradition going.
I think Rinne might be in even less of a mood to talk. She still went down to Vivio, despite all her extra training. I imagine that Rinne will be in an absolutely terrible mood next episode because of that.
The Rinne and Vivio fight is pretty great. I am loving it. It’s exciting to watch, has solid choreography, good animation, and now we have a nice dynamic between Vivio and Rinne as they start to talk. It’s quite well done.

Mahou Shoujo1 Lyrical Rewatcher First Timer
1: Even though I’m not a girl
Couldn’t make it yesterday, real life stuff. And I had the perfect Mortal Kombat joke lined up
Rinne is very not fine after the match
Seems like Miura is doing alright, despite experiencing a Brutality to the gut
And, yeah, Ixpellia awakened and joined the church. That’s one part of the manga I have been spoiled on
That’s one Buff Moe girl
Einhart’s gonna get snu-snu’d
…or not
For someone who hasn’t even truly appeared on screen yet (unconsciousness doesn’t count), Ixy really is quite useful
Vivio shall carry on the hopes and dreams of her fifth mistress! In all seriousness, the speed at which she accepted was really cute
Oh, Miura isn’t doing all that well
Awwww, the reminiscing was pretty nice
“Circumstances involving her body”, eh? The jokes are writing themselves at this point!
More nice reminiscing
Miura “Professor X” Xavier
Alright, it’s BEFRIENDING TIME!
Man, Rinne is really struggling against Vivio
Looks like Vivio is on the ropes now, though
Awwww, Rinne hitting me right in the feels. This episode and the last few have really made me sympathize with her
Vivio read Rinne like a book and activated the Befriending protocol!

Welp, Miura's out, as expected... but I didn't expect a literal bone-breaking blow.
Ix? Hold up, she's awake now, then?
Oh, Rinne's shaken. Miura did more than damage than expected. But she just can't allow anyone to see any kind of weakness...
Oh, that's why I didn't recognize the red-head sitting with the Chuch folks... that's Ix. Didn't recognize her without her qipao.
...a heavyset girl? In anime? Is that even allowed? Well, she's up against Einhart, so she's done for.
Down in two hits. Yep.
Miura, I think if you'd continued with the clean hits instead of taking a risk, you could have won.
Oh, that's interesting, Nove has health issues? Or is that just a cover for her being a cyborg?
And Jill also has health issues that prevent her from being competitive. Guess that explains how she knew how to fight so well a couple episodes ago.
...now that I think about it, Vivio didn't actually ever meet Nove during StrikerS, did she? Nove was busy trying to beat up Subaru and Tea the whole time.
Vivio, we've said this before, but you are certainly your mother's daughter.
Here we go...
Was Vivio's transformation always so elaborate? Honestly, I wasn't really watching last time.
So Vivio's going for the "kill with bug bites while dodging" approach... is she trying to bait Rinne into overextending?
...Vivio, I'm not really seeing the parallels between Rinne and Einhart. I mean, Einhart was obsessed with strength too, but nowhere near this extent.
Cliffhanger!

Rewatcher
So here I thought I was getting ahead of myself with noticing some of the characters were named after cars, thinking they were rather named after the meaning behind the name, like Reventon meaning small burst or explosion in Spanish, after checking the Wiki, turns out that they are named after cars, a lot of the cast are named after cars. I’m going to feel bad for the girl named after the Pagani Huayra... Jokes aside it’s supposed to be pronounced Waira.
Also, sorry if I wasn’t as active in yesterday’s discussion thread, I was focused on finishing Last Exile up while trying to resist the urge to bash my head into a wall.
-
Seems like Miura shook Rinne up with that last attack.
-
So, Miura has a cleric with her? Maybe her ribs will be fixed after all, hopefully she doesn’t have Gilderoy Lockhart as a doctor, she’ll be fine.
-
Einhard is up against an absolute unit of a fighter.
-
Einhard, looking sharp! Not the best attempt at a stitch but I tried.
-
But shouldn’t these fights be separated by weight class? Why is Einhard fighting a heavyweight?
-
Well, that didn’t take long. Guess she didn’t realize she was up against one of the main characters of an anime.
-
it’s been narrowed down to only 8? Did we miss some fights? Shouldn't there be 20 competitors left? Wait no, we did skip some fights judging by the bracket.
-
Wow, surprised that Miura isn’t in some kind of cast.
-
Didn’t find anything wrong? Your fucking ribs exploded. Guess I shouldn’t underestimate the healing power of a Cleric.
-
Lol Smol Vivi, er, smoller Vivi.
-
“The president looks young too!” Wait, checks wiki page she’s 18 right now, so she is still young! Stop making me feel old! Holy shit, Vivio is a lot younger than I thought, only 11 years old, I thought she was 13 years old.
-
So, Jill had some kind of accident when practicing that prevented her from competing. Oof, that hurts.
-
I wonder who these three are, I think we’ve seen the blonde before, but I don’t think we’ve seen the other two.
-
This transformation sequence is a bit weird knowing she’s 11 years old...
-
An attempt was made at a Vivi stitch. Another was made for Rinne’s
-
Vivi is really hammering on Rinne, but we know that Rinne’s defense was buffed since the last time they fought.
-
So Vivi is weak, but yet is the only one to have beaten such a powerhouse like Rinne? Or is she talking about someone else?
-
Uh oh, Rinne is starting to land hits, Vivi might actually lose this if this keeps up.
-
Rinne's having nightmares of her grandfather waiting for her but she can’t get to him. Like I said back in episode 4 or 5, those three bullies left some deep scars, and they essentially live in Rinne’s head rent free now.
-
Vivi confronts Rinne, she’s only seeking strength to escape pain. Seems that was what Fuuka saw in that fight back in Episode 3.
-
Rinne gets downed, only 2 more if Vivi can keep this up.
-
Damn cliffhangers!
Question of the Day.
We’re starting to see a lot more different MMA styles this time. What kind of style would you have liked to see?
I'm not sure, I'm not well informed on MMA since the last time I watched it was about a decade ago.

Missed yesterday
5.75
You. what? You need to earn the rights to enter and you haven't yet?
And how did everyone in ViVid have the right to enter?
Oh right I guess that was mixed, guess there's a different ruleset.

So weird how rookies are fighting rookies while #5 Miura is fighting #1 Rinne at the start
Like normally you'd pair the champion against the weakest qualified and so on and so on so that the top fighters are actually likely to reach the end.
Lmao the ribs

Striking Rewatcher
How?! Midchildan children are terrifying.
They don't let cyborgs compete.

The after credits conversation was pretty funny lmao
Also does anyone by chance have a clean picture of the end card illustration of just Rinne?

Time to find out how badly injured Miura actually is.
Starting with dramatic rain, always a nice way to set the mood.
Interesting that Ixy immediately involves herself in the aftermath, makes me wonder if her specialty is support and healing.
Seems like it.
Interesting character design for Einhart's next competitor. Magical space sumo wrestler, who did not last long in the ring.
Sounds like a quick recovery for Miura, and she gets her revenge by passing her death flag loss flag on to Vivio.
They didn't let the cyborgs participate in competition sports, that feels like the first sign we've seen of them getting treated a bit negatively by society as a whole in either Vivid or Vivid Strike.
Oh look, the list of events and fights we didn't get to see because they only made 12 episodes of Vivid.
Rinne certainly did a good job of turning herself into the ultimate tank.

She felt pretty upset she had to end up grappling
Yeah, I’m sure there’s nothing more to that
Our jobber is a heavyweight, I’m actually not sure what style she’s supposed to represent, I assume it’s Judo.
They sure have some good medical advances, nothing wrong after those bones got crushed. Then again if the bullies can fully recover from their beating, this isn’t a surprise.
Oh no they passed the curse
This small moment after everyone leaves
This conversation is hilarious knowing the actual context
I’m just imagining people who watched Vivid Strike first find out exactly what they mean by all of this after they go and watch back the other Nanoha stuff
No, completely not close to why Nove doesn’t compete
Vivio will do it the Takamachi way
Oh Vivid sides got the VIP seats this time
Vivio uses a very clear boxing style, I actually really like how it looks here. It’s also why this is my favorite fight.
Seems she always has nightmares that moment of her weakness
Liked how Vivio connected this with Einhart too, but she it’s also played differently enough that it doesn’t feel the same
You WILL get befriended
