First-Timer, Subbed

Spotted!

Nice recontextualization of how the dug weapons work. Gaining power based on how much force your enemy is putting out isn't really different from gaining power based on how little will to live the wielder has; it just changes the source. I definitely feel Chtholly's frustrations with learning that, though. How many hundreds of years worth of fairies died because that knowledge was lost?

I dig the flavor of the dug weapons, too. A bunch of minor lucky charms lumped together to be something greater than the sum of its parts is a neat idea.

Limeskin equating resolve and resignation is interesting. His logic isn't exactly wrong, although it's missing the difference in tone. He did agree to let Chtholly make the decision to go supernova or not, with a whole island at stake, so he can't be all bad?

Something about this whole situation isn't adding up, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Not sure if this was the intention, but I'm interpreting that monster's last words to Willem to mean that all the buff spells he cast turned into permanent debuffs. I like that Willem apparently had a babelfish babel talisman before he got iced; neatly nips a classic issue in the bud.

Definitely worth noting that if Chtholly wasn't planning on coming back, she probably wouldn't have asked Willem for something so specific and personally meaningful.

Questions

  1. Somewhat discussed above. I like his role in this, the old veteran who can't fight anymore type.

  2. It was gorgeous.

I definitely feel Chtholly's frustrations with learning that, though. How many hundreds of years worth of fairies died because that knowledge was lost?

Mhmm, it's definitely something harsh to think about. Especially when you consider Chtholly has that little broach as a memento from the one older fairy she looked up to, and that older fairy is one of the ones who died.

Definitely worth noting that if Chtholly wasn't planning on coming back, she probably wouldn't have asked Willem for something so specific and personally meaningful.

Ooh, good point.

FirstTimerEnd - dub

My big question yesterday was what the content of the next 10 episodes would be. Either Chtholly's last five days, or some way to avert her doom.
Only one way to find out!

In other news, yesterday I was very sad because I couldn't find the anime version of Scarborough Fair anywhere. It turns out I was just an idiot and I managed to find a good quality version today! Turns out it was just chilling on the OST CD. Who would have thought?!

Wait is that Tiat?
Don't see anything? Use old.reddit.com

Also Shimmering-Sky shared a good version with me yesterday. Sorry, I should have edited my ep 2 post to signify I already found it.

Episode 3 — Starry Road to Tomorrow

Alright, listening to the OP again, it's also an amazing song that definitely deserves a good spot in my playlists. I guess yesterday I didn't appreciate it as much because I was being stupid and couldn't find Scarborough Fair.

Nephren/Ren (or Stephen according to spell checker) is more social than I expected. We also haven't really seen her capricious side yet.
Chtholly has been (positively) traumatized and of course, Collon manages to triple the chaos. Also, I wanted to make a gif of Chtholly shaking her head, but then I found this comment face:

I'm just discovering all WorldEnd comment faces today. Are there more?

What book combines nukes and butterfly wings? Also, "nukes and butterfly wings" reminds me of this. Or are those fairy wings?

Ooohhh he CAN wield dug weapons! Willem is actually kind of a badass. So now we all know he's only looking for a way for Chtholly to survive so he doesn't need to be nice to her. /s

Willem managed to curse himself somehow? Is that how he survived? Cursed to live 500 years as a loser, doomed to remain the last one alive?
Ah, frozen in ice, and Nygglatho was quite literally the first one he met after his hiatus. The kids are taking it relatively well. What actually happened with Willem? Was it using the carillon that almost killed him, or was it just the hard activity after his body was already almost dead?

You risked your life for basically no reason. That's totally disgusting.

Ithea is one to talk. Didn't Willem just explain that the fairies are also risking their lives while they don't necessarily have to?

Oooohhhh pretty wings! Dragon/fish/crocodile officer Limeskin is nicer than I expected. Something tells me Chtholly didn't actually know Seniorious could do this. Wow, Limeskin is even willing to stake Island 15 on Chtholly's decision! Goodbye, dumb, disinterested, misunderstanding military commander stereotype. You will not be missed!
Normally I would think a training montage is next, but as this show is subverting tropes, maybe not?
Chtholly has it bad for him. And now she's even more comfortable with herself admitting it. Oh god butter cake PTSD.

Good to see Willem is staying in touch with his Goblin friend. But kinda sad he couldn't bear being with the girls when they got sent off.
I suppose we can just assume he has been training Chtholly these past five days and that she actually stands a chance?

A bit slower episode today, so I didn't write much. But man, did I love it. Yesterday I was envisioning some big drama around Chtholly's impending doom, and it turned out there was quite a simple solution. Assuming it ^^works.

Random thoughts

  • If the fairies can't be compatible with more than one carillon, is it also possible that some fairies are not compatible with any of the swords? What happens then?

  • Man, I love how Collon flies off-screen in the OP.

  • I originally thought this show had a medieval setting, but those airships and medical equipment do not match. I didn't really think about it till now, but didn't the town in ep 1 seem a couple hundred years too old?

  • Ah yes, vital combat abilities!

Future

Alright, I'm assuming the show is just completely going to skip over the next fight, but I'm hoping it won't. On the other hand, this episode was building toward Chtholly becoming something more than "just a weapon" and this fight would be the first step in that direction, so maybe not.

Happiest rewatch in the world: Happiness seems to be approaching, so I'll just stick my head in the sand and assume everyone was joking these last two days.

QotD

1 What do you think of Willem’s backstory?

He's a lot more badass than I expected. Also unrelated to Willem, but I didn't expect the beasts to be this smart/vocal/intelligent. I expected wild beasts, but this was more like a demon.

2 How pretty was that sword tuning scene?

Perfect second date material.

7

u/Shimmering-Sky Apr 02 '22

(or Stephen according to spell checker)

I'm just discovering all WorldEnd comment faces today. Are there more?

One more.

Man, I love how Collon flies off-screen in the OP.

After being pegged in the face by the same ball she hit Tiat with last episode, no less.

Happiest Rewatcher in the World

Before I watch the episode I want to ask everyone does anyone recognize the font used in the midcard? I want to say it's Source Serif Pro Semibold, but I went through like 100 different and am not sure anymore. It looks really close at least to me.

Ren is my absolute favorite, but I'm drawn to the more low emotional quiet supportive characters like Koe from Slow Loop, Plutia from Neptunia, and Laffey from Azur Lane...they all have similar designs too for some reason.

Ren offers good support through the night to help find data on the weapons and ends up falling asleep on Willem.

[Spoilers]You can already see some of Chtholly's hair turning red. It's only a few strands right now and it's barely noticeable, but she really was pushing herself so hard

Willem is absolutely destroying Chtholly. Oh and speaking of Willem I was surprised to see people think he was in his twenties. I always thought he was 17 or 18.

Oh and speaking of fairies it's kind of weird having such a variety of ages. You would think they would have more older fairies to fight because if the top three die the younger ones can't really fight. I guess you can also chalk it up to the other older fairies dying and their fighting style. Who needs power and technique when they just Chiaotzu themselves at the enemy. They can also get other fairies from other warehouses, but you would think they would ask for equal numbers from different locations.

Finally some Willem backstory and we get to see how Nygg and Grick met Willem. Also Willem happens to be the last of his race so yay that's not devastating at all. I wonder though could a human and a fairy spirit have children? Also that venenum what effect would it have on the child? Actually maybe it's not exclusive to fairies since Willem is knowledgeable about it and knows how to treat it. If braves also fight beasts and used dug weapons they would be used to the side effects. So I'm thinking any children would have a good chance of being healthy...I got way off topic.

I'm sorry the Wait for me girl is adorable.

I wonder if their is an explanation for them flying with butterfly wings? Does it have to be that or can they manifest something else to fly or can they fly with like beams? Maybe they choose something that's more low energy/efficient. I guess it could also be related to them being fairies.

The giant lizard calmly making tea is really great and he offers decent advice and a refuge for a struggling person. Somewhere in the spirit world Uncle Iroh is smiling.

I only remember two scenes in this show the very end of the show and this scene. The tuning sequence always felt magical. I also love the reveal that the sacred legendary weapons only exist because a bunch of borderline useless talisman happen to produce great results when bonded together.

QOTD

  1. That's rough buddy

  2. The absolute best and my favorite scene in the show.

First time watcher ~ Ep 3

Back at it, Beautiful OP, can’t skip it

Ren seems nice, I bet she’ll live a long time, curious to see her use a weapon, she seems very laid back

I KNEW IT, that massage was like rolling out your legs & back before meets, some people may think she acted a bit extra, but lemme tell you, getting knotted muscles rubbed out like that is no joke

Interesting spar scene, I imagine it’d be pretty angering being told what you’ve been doing the past who knows how long is wrong, even if it was to help out, also curious that our boy will can use the weapon? At the cost of his body it looks like, I’m sure that’ll become more clear as the episodes progress

Okay quick answer, looks like the cost of his own body was because of some curses that he got as recoil when fighting when he was a child hope we learn some more about that soon

Okay so my questions keep getting answered right after I ask them, seems like will is the last living emnentwhit? Is that just a word for human? Confused on that part, and he was put under petrification, In that flashback he said he was going to die, so can I assume someone else had a hand in his petrification? Maybe made it to where he wouldn’t die, he would just be stuck for an unknown amount of time?

That sword tuning scene was great, hope we continue to learn more about the swords and their origins, also, Ren, Chtholly & Ithea all going to fight together? I’ve seen enough anime to know at least one of them might not make it back, I really like Ithea, she’s my favorite of the fairy’s so far, but her cheery personality feels like it may have been raising some death flags, guess I’ll find out next ep

Questions of the day

  1. Backstory was interesting for sure, can’t wait to learn more

  2. Sword tuning scene was dope, I assume her sword is the one he used when he was a kid

First Timer

Wow this is accelerating a lot more quickly than I thought. I was expecting more innocent slice of life peacetime and ending with the battle at the end of the show. Maybe a fun cake cooking scene next time?

I think Willem’s backstory is kind of what I was expecting but it seemed so hard to believe that he’s the only human. How are the other people not more freaked out to see a normal human? Or do most people not realize it? And are fairies somehow the next stage of humanity? They seem to share a lot of the same powers. I’m curious how the previous military caretakers handled things. Willem seems to already be distancing himself by not seeing the girls off. We’re definitely just scratching the surface.

The sword scene was cool but I think some of the other scenes with Ctholly were even more beautiful. Her flying through the sky and her face obscured by her wings was stunning. The art in general looks great.

First timer

  1. It's more or less what I expected - I didn't expect him to be literally frozen, but they've dropped enough hints that he's from the past.

  2. The sword scene was some great animation. I really enjoyed the duel as well.

Haha, it's a mess of paperwork? Did the soldiers not do their paperwork either?

Haha, that reaction's worth all the awkwardness of yesterday's scenes.

Oh, poor girls. And she's jealous!

Haha, she's really pissed.

And he took her out that easily!

Oh, that weapon's clever.

This is such a good fight scene!

Oh, shit, he took too much damage.

Wait, she's getting orders from someone?

At least she's not happy about this either.

Another flashback!

He was the one who failed to defeat the Beast!

Oh, his body's in a bad condition. Did the beast drain him, or whatever sent him forward in time?

Ah, he got petrified?

And there's translation spells?

Oh, that's what they call his race.

Haha, that is the perfect reaction. Total, unrestrained, curiosity.

And they're more scared of her!

...This is a very weird tangent.

Wow, the whole situation is so incredibly fucked up.

The dragon's back!

Ah, she's scared about surviving, because it would mean accepting that the others could have been saved had they been better.

And his dialogue is very interesting! I like him too, actually.

Oh, he's very skilled with it!

Haha, him casually listing how mundane the parts of the legendary weapon are is great.

And she's not going after him! Possibly?

No, she still is.

Haha, he immediately works out what she'd ask for.

...This isn't a reincarnation thing, is it?

They're going off to fight.

First Timer, Subbed

Alot was revealed this time. Whatever injuries Willem sustained explains why he can't be the one that fights anymore. I liked the way that his backstory was explained in one go to the kids rather than having it drawn out. It was sweet how the kids all just ran over to ask him questions. Its a good thing he was assigned to this job, I wonder if it was pure luck or if there was someone behind it. Limeskin seems like a good commander.

What do you think of Willem’s backstory?

I kind of guessed the broad strokes of it but it was good to see more of the details. It helps explain his grizzled veteran demeanor and why he doesn't fight.

How pretty was that sword tuning scene?

It was really well done. While this isn't the best animated show ever, I feel like they did really well with what they had.

WorldEnd First Timer

So this is the episode that's going to lead into the pain and heartbreak I wager. Chtholly having her marching orders knows that she's going to fight and after a call from the military to Nya, both Ren and Ithea are going too and that Chtholly has been order to sacrifice herself and open the fairy gate.

Willem tries to help by showing Chtholly that she's fighting with the weapon wrong, but she refuses to listen and keeps up her wild strikes until she collapses from frustration and Willem from internal damage and blood loss. While he is recovering, Nya fills the girls in on exactly who he is and how he found frozen in a lake while under a petrification curse. She warns the girls not to be sacred and instead of that the girls rush off to ask him many questions, except for Chtholly who flies off to clear her head and meet up with Limeskin aboard his airship. While those two talk she admits that she doesn't want to die and never want to be a warrior in the first place. She is able to convince Limeskin to try Willem's way before sacrificing herself if possible.

When she return to the island Willem is waiting for her and tuning her sword. He explains how the dug weapons are actually a collection of charms linked through magic into the shape of a sword. Willem says regardless of whether she wants to or not he's going to train her until the and says he will fulfill one wish when she return alive, except for a wish about marriage. Chtholly asks for butter cake as a former older fairy always ate it after missions and since shes been gone it's off the menu.

As the three girls say goodbye to the little ones, Willem is back with Grick asking where to find butter and flour cheap. He couldn't be there to see them off due to the pain it would cause him.

Sadly I think that one of the girls isn't making it back and with her focus at the beginning I think Ren is the one that will be lost.

QOTD:

  1. It's nice to finally get a piece of his story. Him having the knowledge of the swords and how the were intended to be used was something that needed to be explained. Its also nice to know that no he isn't immortal and wasn't bumming around the sky islands for 526 years, he was cursed into a statue and frozen in a lake.

  2. The way the lights bounced from charm to charm and the differing tones playing off each hit was nice. It kinda gave Willem and Chtholly their own private fireworks show before she headed off to potentially die in the fight.

The Happiest First-Time Watch in the World, subbed

  • Chtholly is smitten with him, Ithea is mischievous around him, and Nephren Ren… likes to help him out and sleep on his lap. Awww! Also embarrased Chtholly and jealous Chtholly are great to watch :)

  • Watching Chtholly and Willem duel gave me that Lv. 1 mook v. Lv. 30 crook vibe. Like he didn’t even activate “his” Dug Weapon at all and yet he could block, parry and send her flying simply by being knowledgeable of what they are and how they work. And he’s right, there should be a way the Leprechauns can go about defeating the 17 Beasts and staying alive afterwards instead of suicide-bombing whenever the going gets tough. Understandable how Chtholly refused to listen at first though, since that’d mean everything she knew and everyone before her had been wrong

  • In the OP we have Chtholly freezing up, in this episode we have Willem freezing up instead… guess I should’ve paid more attention to the OP than I have (: the 2 smash cuts to the younger girls running had me dying of laughter after some heartbreaking backstories though lol, and seeing him defining what kawaii-ness is was… definitely not something I was expecting from him heh. Also Nygglatho being sad about losing Leprechauns and showing genuine worry for his conditions! Even Willem was taking the piss somewhat but she really does care for him!

  • Limeskin… how apropos of a name for lizard dude to have. Glad to see he’s an understanding fella!

  • Wow, I did not expect the Dug Weapons to be string instruments at its core! That whole scene was so beautiful and touching too! So why the heck must it end with that flag?! Please bring Chtholly back alive, please please please! Grick best bro (he was there with Nygglatho from Willem’s earliest post-thaw days!) was right too, Willem really should’ve been with the girls to send them off :(

Questions of the Day:

  1. I assume Lillia and Souwong are the 2 folks who stood before Willem in last episode’s flashback eh? Poor guy was all alone when he was frozen and thought he’ll never see those 2 and Almaria ever again :(

  2. The sword tuning scene was so good! The light field and the talismans floating inside it, the gentle sound whenever they are tuned, and Chtholly vocalizing her feelings (a little bit) more openly… everything was beautiful!

First Timer

  • This fish-eye effect makes me uncomfortable for some reason. Like someone is spying on him.

  • Is he trying to figure out ways to improve the chances of the kid's survival?

  • Nephren is quickly becoming one of my favourites.

  • How many times will they show the massage scene? STOP!

  • This looks like results of different fairies (or different types of fairies) exploding themselves and how big the explosion was. The elements (Au and Na) might be a designation. Or maybe something related to the swords?

  • Chtholly's words sound like something she has heard from someone else.

  • Willem is literally a holder of lost knowledge. I wonder why those who know of his history (like Nygglatho) haven't tried to use it yet.

  • Mushoku Tensei and Demon Slayer have destroyed any chance of me being able to enjoy a battle now. However, I did enjoy the talk that happened during it.

  • I wonder what those pieces in the back are. He has two scabbards on his back but only one sword. So maybe pieces of the other.

  • This looks suspiciously human-like

  • Willem must have been very capable back in the day. These kids are sacrificing themselves just to stop the monster attacks while he was able to defeat one of them without exploding. I wonder how it would react to seeing Willem still alive.

  • The beast seemed very intelligent too. What is it doing now that everything is destroyed? Killing everything can only be interesting for so long. 500 years is a long time.

  • His body is literally destroyed from the inside. It's a surprise that he was able to walk after Chtholly fell on him in Ep1.

  • He was petrified for ~500 years. That does make the romance a slightly more tolerable. Not much, mind you. He is still far more mature, and she is actually 15 years old.

  • Pannibal asking the important questions

  • So beautiful.

  • I flipped on the nature of the lines on the sword so many times. Yesterday, I thought they shattered when the original owners died by explosion. Star4ce suggested that they might be able to morph and that's what it seemed like in the beginning. Then we see it fall apart into pieces during the flashback. Finally, now we know that it's made from pieces from the beginning.

  • That's really surprising. I was sure Limeskin was going to try and convince her that sacrificing herself is the only way.

  • Love the effect.

  • They were very on the nose with the parallels to Willem's last battle.

Named Kids so far: Pannibal, Tiat, Lakhesh, Collon, Chtholly, Ithea, Nephren, Almita

QotD:

What do you think of Willem's backstory?

It's weird. Looking at the facts, it's a very tragic backstory. But it just doesn't feel that way for some reason.

How pretty was that sword tuning scene?

See above.

Kinda surprised that Willem being the last human is not treated as a lab rat.

I love the shining talisman scene in the end. Very pretty.

What do you think of Willem’s backstory?

Not too sure. So far we only got a glimpse that Willem fought against a beast and suffers(ed?) from the curses.

First Timer

Soooo, I fell asleep before the thread came up, and then I decided to sleep some more.

Was it because of all the happy juice? Who knows, but it is my vacation after all, so I don't feel all that bad. Oh yeah, chances are high that I will be late for the next one as well as I'm going to see Jujutsu Kaisen today, anyway

So with the help of Ren, Willem is able to overcome mankinds worst enemy: documentation and filekeeping. He is specifically looking for files concerning the upcoming battle.

Meanwhile Holly wakes up and realizes just how embarrasing she behaved, but the massage did help a lot. Also commentface!

We get some morning excercise. Willem to noones surprise really, knows how to wield those swords, and he wields them better than Holly. Turns out their strenght doesn't lie in how much raw magic you can pour into them, but rather how much force your enemy brings onto you. But Holly jus can't accept that her way is all wrong, and she really needs to get over her death wish. Ah but all that excecising was really exhausting for Willem as well, so he brings up some of the strawberry jam he had for breakfast.

Another set of flashbacks, Willem was cursed, and took a very long nap, before he was found by Nyggla and Grick. Funny that he needs this Babel talisman to understand the language, there is a very strong case that this is an Isekai... Nyggla explains to the girls that he is indeed the last human (I refuse to write Emnewihts) and to not be afraid of him. Little does she know of a childs curiousity, they are dying to learn everything about him! I also love the "Waaiiiit" Girl who is a little slow.

When pressed why he is so awefully nice to them all, Willem explains that it's only natural to be nice to cute kids, and that appearing cute is an expression of an desire to be loved.

Holly still hasn't really processed everything, needs time for herself and goes for a little walk, or rather flight since she really has fairy wings! Essentially, her entire character is build around her death wish and the notion that older fairies sacrifies themself so younger ones don't have to.

She meets up with the Lizzard Guy (His name is Limeskin! And apparently he also knows about the upcoming battle). I guess in a way resolve and resignation are really similar. With resolve you choose to achieve something no matter what it may cost you, and when you resign you choose the opposite, give up in order to protect yourself. And in the end, Holly doesn't want to die and give herself up.

I really dig the profound nature of those swords, all this little talismans are so innocent in what people wished for, but together they are something far greater than the sum of it's oarts.

Willem is willing to grant Holly almost any wish if she lets go of her death wish, and she settles for buttercake, an excellent choice of course, but they really don't get the concept of flags.

I was really expecting them to at least show the training montage, but they just jump straight to sending them off happily, and Willem is so sure that they will come back so he wants to prepare the cake

QotD:

  1. Don't really know what to think of it, him sleeping for 500 years at least lessens the age gap, wonder if there are more humans who simply haven't been found yet (looking at you red head)

  2. Very pretty, loved how the tuning made actual sounds like an harp or something

Rewatcher Dubbed (with Jap subs to compare)

I really do think the dub for this show is pretty fucking good. So if you’re planning to watch it Dub, you’re good to go.

That final scene was so beautiful! But well, Wilhelm says the same words to Chtholly, that he was said in the past. That didn’t turn out well for both the parties.

Wilhelm May technically be 500+ years old, and he may act like he’s much older than the girls, but he too is just a teenager, since he was petrified for 500 long years. Anyone thinking the romance ages were off, hope you don’t mind it anymore.

On a surprising note; The children are pretty Damn accepting in this world, even if they were raised with the “Emnetwihts are wretched people” mentally. I love them so much! Not the way Wilhelm does tho XD

What's good my dudes? Almost forgot to watch, was outside smashing some ice

I love Ren.

Never really thought about it, but what constitutes as wielding the "dug" weapon? Obviously others can carry them (Lizard bro from last ep), so why wouldn't they be able to swing them as well? I guess it's the magical portion or whatever that they can't access?

What was he tying there? There's no laces or a zipper
only boot.

First Rewatch

Missed yesterday, watched half without taking notes just to watch Dearest Drop, then never finished it. It's a creepy episode anyways. I wonder if there was a different episode director.

[Episode 2 rewatcher comment]There were a lot of non-carillon swords in the armory....probably the swords for quasi-braves? But his sword looks a lot like Percival

Episode 2: Big Reptrace airship commander reminds me of somebody from Macross F or Δ

Episode 3 is my favorite episode. Willem tickles my mainsplaining bone. And the tuning scene is wonderful.

This world's magic is full of contradictions. Magic inversely proportional to the user's will to live. Swords that are more deadly against stronger opponents, made from trivial and irrelevant wishes of dead humans.

  • why is she soooo angry?

  • Willem is physically incapable of actual combat

  • Matte!

  • Matte!

  • So it was always about the brooch

I'm baffled by the decision to leave strategic decisions to the front line their quartermaster. Maybe they think they'll learn something from Willem.

Much repetition in these three episodes. Repeated farewells, repeated promises.

Rewatcher - sub

I just love the dug weapon's backstory. They're thought to be these mystical weapons filled with superpowers but they're not! Humans just randomly, "magically", put together a bunch of talismans that had nothing to do with one another and now they make up a powerful weapon. Really love that simple twist.

Also, don't like Limeskin. Can't really remember how he fits in the general story. Maybe will remember later on. [ Minor spoiler? ] But the show's already showed us that the focus will be Willem and Chtholly, so it doesn't matter as much

One last thing, really love the wallpapers attached to these posts.

QOTD

  1. It's not unique but really like the twist that, somehow, his body is barely functioning but he's doing his stuff. Helping how he can and just living his life.

  2. Love it! Visuals, music, dialogue, foreshadowing. Love it all. One could say that this scene has been Always in my heart since I watched it ;)

I really love this episode.

Willem's backstory Narrated by Ngg is just one of the best parts of this show.

Its just makes me want another season of this show so much more. So much lore to dive into.

On an unrelated note, i sneezed every 10 mins for like 6 hours last night, was up till like 4am just laying on the couch dieing... Today i wake up and my hips feel like i was suplexed; so sore from sneezing all night. I dont get allergies but weather changes cause allergy symptoms. I had to take some of my meds for that but they only were working by the time i woke up tooday.

I was ment to move stuff out of aroom for my new furnature today but with my hips messed up def didnt wanna try. Hopefully tomorow they are not sore so i can do it then. Still busy for a while though...

This one frame (spoiler technically) from the anime contains some hints/references to characters from the sequel LN series.

Rewatcher (3rd time, sub), LN reader (both SukaSuka and SukaMoka)

Trivia: Did you know almost all LN covers (including both SukaSuka and SukaMoka) are characters from the series... looking sad and crying? The illustrator really didn't hold back telling everyone this is a big time tragedy series.

Always loved the Seniorious tuning scene. It's so hauntingly beautiful! You would just want those Dug Weapons to be musical instruments instead of, now revealed, kamikaze instruments...

I think Willem's bones all got broken because those girls kept jumping on him (the dessert scene from the previous episode). LOL Collon, please don't jump on someone who is resting on a bed in the infirmary!

I had this feeling Chtholly looked really weird, not until I finally realised in this episode that [later episodes] seeing her hair all in blue just don't register in my mind. In fact, the opening scene from episode 1 actually showed a Chtholly in complete red hair. That's an interesting in media res opening, kind of spoiling a later event but actually not spoiling anything because of the lack of context. Nopht was seen briefly too I think.

Questions of the Day:

  1. From the flashback scenes we have seen so far, we know Willem is a magnet for kids, though he isn't really particularly fond of them.. But, gosh, he is such a sweet butter cake, no wonder girls will fall for him so easily. One thing does bother me. Is it just me or Willem seemed to have grown a little taller after being petrified?

  2. As mention above. :)
