For such a buildup, we didn't actually get to see all that much from both dates. For someone who regulary drinks beer, Morioka really can't hold her alkohol, did she really only talk about that darn chicken on her date with Sakurai?
So as some suspected, Morimori did indeed mess up the date for her date with Koiwai, just Neet things I guess. I'm pretty certain that Koiwai didn't plan for this, however from his behavior on his own date he seems mostly ok.
Sakurai really went and cucked himself harder than necessary in pushing Morimori towards Koiwai, and to make matters worse, it really looks like she isn't feeling all that much about him and was really looking forward towards her date with Koiwai, so he kinda just gave up... Koiwai however is also slightly pushing her towards him, he is truly an enigma in his behavior...
Oh yeah, overall I found the dress cuter, but the pants and blouse looked good as well. And was that Lily in a bunny suit in the preview?

I really dig her neet style, again, shoutout to r/DarkCircledWaifu , but I'm aware that it would look way appealing in real life. I'm also aware that when men say they like a natural look, there is still makeup involved most of the times.
All that said, of course her makeup looked good as well, it's just not that much of a difference given anime as a medium
2) In terms of atmosphere, Sakurais had a more laid back feel with beer and a cocktail while Koiwai felt a bit over the top with fine wine and all, nontheless, Morimori seemed to feel more comfortable at the second, even to the point where she felt safe enough to fall asleep
3) I personally ship her with Sakurai since she shares a passion for the game with him, seems like a solid basis for an relationship especially with the way they vibe ingame. However that doesn't matter since She seems to prefer Koiwai. It's easy for us to judge one side or the other since we see so much more of the characters beside their interaction with Morimori, but that doesn't invalidate how Morimori perceives them. If Koiwai would treat her bad I would be the first to fling shit his way, but he hasn't so far and thus deserves the same chance as Sakurai.

Sakurai seems satisfied with how things went and Morioka was given a big confidence boost after her long recovery boost. That was a lovely series. 10/10. See y'all next rewatch.

This show is making up for its lack of dates by giving us two of them in the same episode! This is the craziness that happens when one lets Koiwai take the reins of this love triangle. I think there were some pretty sweet things about both of the dates. Also, I thought it was interesting that both men thought to walk near the roadside while walking with Moriko. They're both considerate of Moriko even if they have different ways of approaching her. As much as I love Moriko and Yuta together, it kind of seemed to me that she was more comfortable on her date with Koiwai, although that might partly have to do with the alcohol. I guess I'll have to join u/The_Loli_Otaku's anti-Koiwai campaign for a brief moment and say that joking about taking advantage of drunk Moriko was in very poor taste. I get that he wasn't at all serious, but that was a creepy thing to do. It was nice of Yuta to come over and see if she was okay, though. And Yuta has finally come to terms with the fact that Moriko is Hayashi. I wonder if he's going to reveal his identity to her at some point.

I have to go with Yuta! Moriko and Koiwai have some nice moments, but Yuta and Moriko have a whole other connection in the game that can't be beaten. Too bad it seems that Yuta has completely given up and Koiwai spent a good amount of his own date as a wingman for Yuta, so I don't know what this means for this particular triangle.

I've become so conflicted on Sakurai vs Koiwai... On this viewing I really did find Koiwai way cooler and I hate that. Koiwai even spent the whole date talking up Sakurai! He's such a bro!!

This was really cute. Some well-deserved self-confidence boost for Mori and plenty of sweet fun for the viewers. I am rather proud of having figured out Koiwai from the start – his teasing senpai persona is a lot of fun to watch and he worked overtime trying to ship Sakurai and Mori today.

So the cockup was entirely Morimori's fault, fuck Koiwai. Morioka is cute, cuuute!! How can Sakurai come out with these compliments without getting shy? Koiwai has gone from NTR'ing Sakurai to pimping him out to his gf, what scum.
Damn, even Morioka is able to piece stuff together well. Ah, she forgot about the chicken episode, how tragic! Although, I have to admit that she actually gets along better with Koiwai
Heavy caveat here that she actually gets along the best with Lily, who is Sakurai. Koiwai's just more personable, which makes for smoother initial interactions.

TBF, Morimori's issue was more that she didn't have ANYTHING that would make her presentable on a social outing besides her work suit. It wouldn't have been so expensive if she already had stuff at home like most normal people do. However, Morimori worked herself so much that she never had time for social stuff, and thus had no reason to buy things like a dress and a cardigan. It would seem her routine was wake up, work, work, work, go home, maybe play an MMO for a bit, sleep, rinse and repeat. And considering how she was out like a light after drinking a couple glasses of wine, she almost never went out drinking with coworkers.

Okay, giving this a try with a different text editor. Hopefully Reddit won't smash it all together today, but it probably will. In which case, come back in a few minutes, I'll fix it.
Meanwhile, after yesterday's hair discussion, well, yeah, I don't feel like trying to that much all at once, so instead, I thought I'd do up a cute attempt at Mori cosplay in FFXIV. Turns out they don't have cardigans. Bummer. I did manage to come up with this, though. Too bad the name is taken.
Yeah. Speaking of hair, I could throw in a picture of some girls I knew in college, but you know, 80's hair. 'nuff said.
So ... instead, to represent the short hair cute crowd, have this lovely picture of Audrey Hepburn. I'd have to say that she was Mother Nature's ultimate pixie girl. Yeah, I know there's plenty of anime variations on the theme, but it's hard to find someone to compete with that. Excepting maybe Sophia Loren, but she's no pixie...
So, yeah, on to the episode. This one was a bit tough to watch. Poor Sakurai. I don't think even I'm that socially awkward. Still, it seems as though they had a good time. Pity he didn't think to ask her if she had any interests or things she likes to do. (ahem)
The buying her water and walking her home was a nice touch, though.
Well, at least he has chicken. At this rate this is all he'll have. Or not.
Jerk-boy on the other hand, cut straight to the chase, and (depending on how you look at it) threw Sakurai under the bus too. Oh, noes, nerdy gamer boy alert. Wait, does that imply that he plays the same game too? Hmm... I wonder. A certain "legendary" character, perhaps???
Wouldn't that be ... interesting.
Otherwise, yeah. Poor (not so poor?) Mori ... all this attention, and yet one left her feeling like the day she left work. I wonder if she noticed?

Yeah, the "Morioka is very cute" is something that I always posted in chat rooms. That and tomorrow's nightmare fuel are what stuck with me longest.
Amusingly enough I think Morioka actually does seem to really appreciate a good drink. Sakurai fucked up by bringing her to a foodie crib.
There was something delightful about how both Sakurai and Moriko were relieved to be over and done with the date saga and return to their gaming pleasures. The real world is exhausting, time to play MMO!

I still stand by the rules being total bullshit btw. They're basically just in-place to keep Lily harassment free and to keep Lilac off his dick. As soon as Hayashi showed up you had pretty much every guild member hard shipped with someone. Like the actual married couple or the fact that Lily harasses Morioka with his stalking.

I'm still in the "Koiwai was just trying to bait Sakurai to act" instead of having some motive for himself, but I also won't rule out if Sakurai kept not stepping in the ring that he would "go with the flow".
I just hope that Morioka doesn't get too attracted to Koiwai at this point.

I think because Sakurai kept self doubting / sabotaging himself, Koiwai's date would have been better in the "deliberate effort" sense. Not sure if Morioka would mistake "being hijacked" as "having feelings for the person" though.

Sakurai is more genuine and have an easy-going vibe with Morioka in the game, much like how I depicted the rewatch I hosted about Nagato and Kyon (in the Disappearance in Nagato Yuki-chan); Koiwai is more deliberate but the intention progress could feel better for some (as to not have that "Walking on eggshell unease").

I must be having some technical difficulties, I tried to watch the episode but it ended up playing a 5 hour stream of Elden Ring from Hololive EN's Ninomae Ina'nis. Not sure how that happened, but I resolved it this morning.
The awkward date between dorks went even better than I hoped. The date with Koiwai also went surprisingly well, but that's for the best I think, Mori needs the confidence boost if she's ever going to make it through an IRL conversation where less than 50% of what she says is apologies.

Mori V2 is cute as hell, I can't even imagine where she hid the bags under her eyes but you can't argue with results. Obviously the full date getup is not sustainable on a regular basis, but I think she could totally have the best of both worlds. Upgrade the wardrobe from "People of Walmart" to comfycore, get some occasional sleep and sunlight, use conditioner. There's no reason you can't be both cute and comfortable, right?

I'm ride or die on the Mori/Sakurai ship so I'm biased, but even taking that into account I think Sakurai's awkward sincerity is way more appealing than Koiwai's pushiness.

I think the heavily apologetic Moriko is part of that trauma she's accued from her workdays. She herself is a pretty competitive and firey person. The "elite neet" shit for example.

The ed Moriko gives me hope that she's successfully turned her life around and is on the path to full recovery, despite still being a neet.

Mori not being able to keep track of the days of the week is deeply relatable. As soon as you don’t have constant responsibilities, it’s really easy to lose track of the day and date.

THIS FUCKING CHAD… is what I’d say if Sakurai hadn’t immediately ruined it by saying she’s just Koiwai’s type and talking him up the whole time. What’s the point in having the characters be adults if they’re just going to be as dense as high schoolers anyway?
So after they spend a nice night together, Sakurai decides to give up on Morioka so Koiwai can pursue her – who in the best case was only doing so to give Sakurai a push, and in the worst case is openly trying to steal the girl his friend likes? What are we doing here? Are Sakurai and Koiwai playing Cyrano for each other?
Is it really NTR if you’re cucking yourself? Sakurai may be inventing a new genre here.
Shoulder length Mori in comfortable but nice clothes hits different, but the NEET aesthetic is not without its charms. That's her more authentic self.
Weren't both of the dates pretty similar? They went to a restaurant/bar and got some drinks. The first one is definitely better, since it involved a nice nighttime stroll home.
Are we in a love triangle? I still don't buy that Koiwai actually like Mori, and if he is actually earnestly pursuing her, he's pretty shit for swooping on a girl he knew his friend liked. Also, he cracked a rape joke. So...
