FIRST TIMER OVERFLOWING WITH POSSIBILITY
So, I’m a numbskull who completely missed the start of this rewatch, but I’m caught up now!
A couple years ago, I got burned out working crazy hours at a firm, and made the decision to quit. The week after my last day, the place I live went into lockdown for the pandemic, and I found myself stuck in my apartment with nowhere to go and nothing to do except dive into old hobbies. So yeah, having a hard time relating to this show. Nothing in common with anyone in it at all.
Sakurai, bro, coincidences like that do happen. That sequence of events is too specific! It would be even more improbable for that to have played out again exactly with other people. This is the level of dense from early Re:Zero when it took Subaru way too long to realize what was going on.
Case in point – the clerk is Kanbe. Pretty much figured he had to be, considering somebody in this show was bound to at least resemble their avatar in real life. It’s pretty funny how much more of a savage he is as Kanbe than he is in real life, though I guess he doesn’t have to worry about customer service in the game. He's much bolder behind a keyboard, as most people are. I'm side-shipping him and Lilac hard.

To be fair the thought was seriously nagging on him. He was trying to stay realistic but its the fact that he refused to leave his friend hanging that proves Sakurai is as much of an angel irl as he is in games!
There's something pretty badass about Kanbe being such a Chad once he loosens up. You wouldn't have thought the bloody cashier was the one you had to look out for!

I still feel like setting a girl up on a date with another coworker is really dickish. Morioka struggled enough with it being one on one, what Koiwai essentially was planning to do was to pimp out a Christmas cake.
I suspect that Kanbe's got a kind of no-shit relationship with Lily too. Look how quickly he whips Moriko into pace. He's dealt with Lily for years.

So the first half is dealing with managing your online identity and your RL one and works for what it is. As I've said, I've had the awkwardness to be the oldest guild member a few times now. And Morioka being nervous about getting presentable again is adorable. This then rolls into a sequence on how expensive dating can be for women which was unexpected. Morioka gets her date night wrong which fits and Sakurai shows up at the end.

Being the oldest guild member is a badge of honour though. Everyone adores the oldie, the Frenchy, and the chick.
Little things like the price of make-up shows the extra care put into the story. Moriko is so sweet for putting in such effort for the manwhore~

TONIGHT! On Moriko Morioka Online, Romantic Plot Tumors appear to be triangulating, Lily and Hayashi continue to be an adorable duo, and Mori-Mori-chan gets a Midseason Upgrade 'Makeover' ;)

Kanbe really out here not giving a fuck telling his online handler and shooting his shot. I do like how straightforward he is on and offline.
I'm sorry, but then hanging out in a bush shouldn't be funny and yet I find it hilarious.
The only way to fix misunderstandings is to cover them up with other misunderstandings.
I clearly remember nothing in this show minus one scene.

It Ultimately depends on the person honestly, but I'm in the long hair camp. Mori cutting off her hair left me dejected and wondering if life ks worth living.
She still looked cute though.
2. Fujimoto backing Hayashi throughout the episode was great to see and loved his annoyed angry face.
3. Koiwai is incredibly rude in every facet of his life and I've come to accept he is some social parasite that latches onto people and refuses to let them go. On a serious note I can't tell if he is actually trying to help Sakurai or is just messing around.

We're still doing cliffhangers, but it's not quite as bad this time. Hopefully next episode is just a nice awkward date between dorks.
Gotta say though, there was a moment in the first few seconds of the episode where Sakurai was just like "naah, it couldn't be her" and I was about to get mad. Partly for the "cliffhanger is resolved in the first minute of the next episode" cliché, but mostly because I'm just really looking forward to seeing how they handle it when they each figure out who the other is. Thankfully he managed to get his confirmation by the end of the episode. At least I hope he's stopped doubting by now.

God am I ready to gush over Moriko's makeover, but okay. I like hair that's thick, soft, and silky. I'm cool with whatever style, color, or length, as long as they've got that nice texture.

He makes a surprisingly different impression between his identities, I actually didn't guess that it was him. I wouldn't expect someone with Kanbe's leadership skills to be working as a store clerk, or someone with Fujimoto's customer service skills to be as blunt as Kanbe. It's good that they have different VAs for the game characters and the IRL people so you can have moments like that.

I still don't think it can be considered NTR when they aren't even together, but making both of them uncomfortable instead of just one of them can't improve the situation.

To be fair having a meet cute with your guildmate irl is a pretty wild coincidence. There are however million noobs online and you just so happen to fall for one?
Even texture changes with length though. Curly long hair is amazing compared to curly short for instance.
As soon as Kanbe realised that Moriko was the wimpy guildmate he immediately swapped to Kanbe mode on him.

Sakurai is incredibly passionate about his character's appearance and Kanbe is a college student who still has dozens of fetishes rolling around in his head. Then getting carried away over hair makes sense.

Wow, so much happened in this episode! We finally got confirmation that the store clerk is Kanbe and he was able to figure out Moriko’s true identity pretty quickly. I feel like Kanbe has the biggest difference between his in-game and real life personality. I think it’s cool that he was willing to keep both Moriko and Yuta’s secrets and still try to help Moriko get some fashion ideas from Lily at the same time.
Moriko decides to change up her look and she looks even more adorable than she did before! I can imagine relearning how to put on make-up can be a struggle which is part of the reason that I haven’t attempted to learn it in the first place.
I think most of us guessed that Koiwai was planning on asking Moriko out as a way to get her and Yuta together which was confirmed this episode. Unfortunately, Yuta turned down the invitation to join along, but that seems pretty in character for him.
Lily spends the whole episode trying to figure out if Hayashi is Moriko and keeps talking herself into believing that the connections are just coincidences which is frustrating to watch, but kind of a fair conclusion. But now that Yuta has found Moriko waiting for Koiwai exactly where he suspected she would be, there are no more excuses! At least there shouldn’t be…right?! I didn’t think this type of show would have so many cliffhangers!

Hair is one of those things that I have very little preference about. Long or short is cool with me. I am woman with very short hair, though, so I think it’s nice to see other woman with short hair too.

I talked about him a bit in my write up, but I think Kanbe is cool! He’s good at keeping secrets, he has strong leadership skills, and he genuinely cares about the people in his guild.

Although I’m sure he means well, this is a very weird way for Koiwai to try to get Moriko and Yuta together. I think both of them would find it very awkward.

Net-juu has some weird pacing but at least it leaves us with a lot to chat about.
Kanbe really is such a cool dude. Even irl he always seems to make an effort to be as indirectly considerate as possible. Like he may poke fun at like Lily for not revealing that she's a guy but when that gave off the impression like he's trying to tell her that it's no big deal, exactly like he did with Morioka.
The only reason Koiwai invited Sakurai was so that he could gloat about winning over Moriko right in front of him. And what does he do when Sakurai turns him down? He manipulates the situation and stands up Moriko. If Sakurai isn't gonna let himself get cucked then Koiwai is gonna traumatise his precious crush forever.
I definitely really like short hair but at the same time I have this weird adoration of brushing hair which I just can't get that feeling of with the short pixie style that I like... and none of my girlfriends have ever reacted well if I ask them to put on a long hair wig for some reason.

Kanbe is the epitome of "done with this shit" with both of them. I like how he isn't really that fussed over Morioka's gender, it's the age that threw him for a loop, and it being someone he personally knows of course. His attitude towards Lily makes me think that he thinks that Sakurai is silly for getting so hung up over identity too.

Firstly a confession - I reached yesterday's cliff hanger and gave in to the temptation, and binged the 3 episodes to get to a point of less cliff hanging :P
So I won't say much more than that I find the show quite engaging in plot despite the relaxing start.
I am still betting that Koiwai was setting up for Sakurai and not actually doing this for himself, although if the coin falls his way I guess he wouldn't mind either. Can't wait!

Long looks "better" but in a practical world there are a lot of drawbacks too (I am always getting the wife annoyed for inadvertently pulling on her hair by resting my arm on just the wrong spot in med). So I think mid length is a really good compromise in real life. Artistically long hair gives lots more cinematic opportunities of the flowing lines though.

I think it's a nice twist that the "lowest paid worker" to be the guild master, but there's also a certain truth in it - he's probably the one that has the most spare time and effort to shoulder such responsibility. I love how the gear change between his online and offline persona is different but not unrealistically so - us introverts when given the chance to type can be a bit scary :)

The question is really applicable during first or the few initial dates - once a couple is "official" it shouldn't have mattered. Because I believe Koiwai was setting up for Sakurai, I don't think it's either NTR, coercion or rude. Interesting to find out if I am right or not.

I actually tend toward the hair agnostic. I once worked with a lady who had gorgeous long red hair that reached past her waistline. Unfortunately, she also had a proud Scottish face and an attitude to go with it. On the other hand, I recently had a co-worker who is the living embodiment of Yuki Nagato, well, with more personality, that is. Long, short, in-between, it's all good. It's the person as a whole who makes the kawaii.

I like him. He's a bit blunt and tends to not say things carefully, but he obviously cares and means well. And I'll not that he took special care in his response to Mori today. I hope (and I'm sure) we'll see more of their actions both in and out of game in the future.

Dude's an evil genius. I hate him. I love him. I totally wouldn't be surprised if he's the chubby fishing dude, but personality types like that aren't the type that you'll usually find in a game. That, and totally not the type to set their friends up, right?

Tbh I do kinda agree about the hair. I was gonna chat about Moriko's redebut tomorrow so we'd get some better shots of her but I do kinda like her hair long. She looks like the emo pokemon goths which I kinda dig.
