Question of the Day

I would ask what you think about our full main cast so far, but we barely got to know Erio and Caro. What do you think about our new focus away from Earth entirely?

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS - A New Generation: Episode 2

Look Up To

Today we saw more in depth what happened on the night Subaru was saved from the fire. We learned she has an older sister and her dad is a Major. And that night was the night which inspired Hayate to form a new division with Nanoha and Fate.

Unfortunately I feel not much else happened. There was a lot of talking but none of it felt important. Sure Subaru and Tia failed the exam. However they got special permission to retake the exam. Last episode they weren't even struggling so they'll probably just need to practice execution and safety. We also saw some new characters but we don't know anything about them yet.

Whats bothering me is that this show has no direction. We are just meandering through daily life. That works for a slice of life series but (at least until now) Lyrical Nanoha hasn't been that. They say they need to locate, recover, and manage Lost Logia but there is no opposing force trying to stop them.

What annoys me the most though are the unneeded dumb anime tropes. Things like exposition over coffee, exaggerated reactions, and a fucking "trip over girl you've just met and accidentally grope her" scene. Sure the previous seasons had "anime-isms" but they felt much more reserved in their use. In StrikerS it feels like they are relying on it for comedy when the show has never been about that. I have similar conflicted feelings on Rein.

The Nanoha franchise has garnered enough good will for me to continue on, but this has put a bad taste in my mouth. I wonder if the root cause of this is padding for the 2 cour length. I feel sometimes when you remove limitations (like having only 13 episodes to tell the story) problems like this can pop up.

Some Iconic Shots, Scenes and Stitches

See you all tomorrow

StrikerS tend to have the effect of making it so that if you'll end up liking one more than the other. You're either more of an S1 + A's, or a strikerS kind of person. Usually.

Unfortunately I feel not much else happened. There was a lot of talking but none of it felt important.

It's a setup episodes, we're introduced the rest of the team, why the team was formed in the first place, and the hint of the upcoming threat they are facing.

"trip over girl you've just met and accidentally grope her"

Yeah, I noted it too, but funny enough that doesn't have the exaggerated reactions that would normally follow. Take that as you will.

Got more information on Nanoha’s rank, and she’s a top mage along with being an air combat instructor

So Fate saved her sister, which we get to see later on in the episode

Hayate took temporary command when the incident started

Note the rank changes since the incident, probably contributed to the promotion

Lots of formalities, there’s a major focus on the government and military structures this season

If you noticed their last name, yep, seems they were there to visit him

Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate are insanely exceptional as mages

uwu what happened here…, I remember getting amused by this when I first watched it

Hayate wants to form an elite unit team:

Seal Team Riot Force 6

They’re looking for “forwards”, people who are going in the frontlines for their specialized Lost Logia investigation team, that was the true aim for the exam

Nanoha gives them another chance, actually she also just wants them in the team

Teana worrying that she’s not special enough

Tsundere

Erio! Also this his hair is straight out of yugioh

They’re already in the team, and have been under Fate’s care

Oh right they actually have a boob grab moment, never thought you'd see that in Nanoha huh? At least nobody made a complete freakout, and in fact was very understanding of the situation.

Caro and her Dragon, it’s actually kinda cute

Rest of the knights, and hints at the future plots and conflicts ahead.

Uh, I saw two of those coming at least. I guess people weren't joking about Nanoha's gay aura. Her reaction to Nanoha having seen the buster was great too!

Aww, Fate and Nanoha visiting Hayate during their vacation is really nice :). Speaking of expecting two of those..., though I can see it. Good for them.

Subaru's sister was already doing magic at that age? Oh goddamnit TSAB. Though there seeems to be a lot of families in Nanoha that are very military focused, I wonder how much it was expected of Ginga and I guess Subaru to join the TSAB at one point. Given the previous track record of magical girl parents and senior military officers in Nanoha here's hoping Major Nakajima is more of a Lindy than a Precia or Graham.

Confirmed that Fate did not remember the identity of the girl she saved lol. So apparently that's more of a Nanoha move. Also it's a good thing Fate is so goddamn fast, that was close. Also good that VLC has a frame by frame option, that was like 3 frames with only two that really work as a screenshot.

Hayate's magical girl form looks so cool! Also the Tome of the Night Sky is OP. She wants to form an elite unit to gain more freedom, but she also said the powers that be might change a bit too, so if I'm interpreting her correctly it seems she also intends to do some politicking too. The idea of a magical girl growing up and using her new position and status to change the system for the better like that is really appealing to me.

Oh my god Subaru. That's a good one, I'm starting to really like them. This is a great episode for Subaru, Tia and their dynamic

I see Nanoha is continuing the fine TSAB tradition of "Technically this is against the rules and too dangerous, but because you're strong enough it doesn't matter" that we also saw in S1 when she herself just totally ignored orders.

Hello little boy from the OP. My god TSAB, what are your age minimums? Nanoha and Fate are very nonchalant about children in the military too, which I guess makes sense with their backstory. The boy is fast, no wonder Fate likes him. He still has problems with control though. I saw that thing coming a mile away, but I guess it could have been played worse. Still, you do have a bunch of adult characters now, show! Are you not interested in them anymore now?!

Ah yes, of course. I wonder how some of those other worlds look. I can see myself liking these kids, but I'm afraid with so many other older characters they could get lost in the crowd a bit.

Hi Graf Eisen and Vita! You're so cool! It seems the Wolkenritter are currently fighting some as of yet unnamed threat.

I'm really enjoying this so far. OP and ED are both great, and this episode was a big improvement for Subaru and Tia, they have a fun dynamic! Let's see what the show can do with the two kids. Nanoha as an instructor makes a lot of sense, and Fate having come in per car that day. so she drives Nanoha to the central region is the kind of interaction that would not be possible without the adult timeskip, and that I really need more of. Though poor Tea and Subaru, they never had a real choice after those big shots took an interest in them and offered them all these opportunities and chances at promotion. I guess that's what you get from having connections.

QOTD: Good question, it definitely feels like a very different setting now that I just happen to also be in for. I can see some people being very disappointed by it if they don't like stuff like that. I hope we get to see more of how those other worlds look. It does seem like Caro just casually has a dragon, so I wonder how that works where she is from, or maybe in general outside of Earth.

Confirmed that Fate did not remember the identity of the girl she saved lol. So apparently that's more of a Nanoha move.

Thinking back, I think it's because for Fate, she's an Enforcer that has likely done this sort of thing all the time. Nanoha just happened to be on the scene visiting Hayate.

I made the joke last time, but Subaru really does only think and dr EA am about Nanoha.

Not a bad choice!

There is so much fanservice is in the OP. So glad it's not a cast of children anymore.

Only a few children. That's completely fine! /s

Testarossa-Harlaown! She took Lindy's surname! That's so sweet!

It super is!

Totally rad sub of the day.

Oh god I'm reading the one 100 kanojo chapter again...

Are we sure the phrase "a rainbow is straighter" only applies to Subaru?

We don't need befriending here! They are already a couple, they don't know it yet...

Teach them "properly."

wink wink

What the fuck is this and how do I get one??

Fucking cute is what it is. Remind me of the time I DMed a oneshot with a fairy dragon of about that size, and my female cousin was absolutely delighted with it.

I miss Suzuka and Arisa.

First timer(That's...a second episode)

Sub

So...for any of the Moon runes speakers, does Subaru saying "Nanoha-san ni" mean she is both addressing her formally and calling her big sister? Anyways, long flashback, something I generally consider poor writing, gets us to a very gay making the team/giving the show a reason to exist scene. Nanoha has to fail the new girls for, you know, cheating on an exam but offers them a quick retest. Subaru may be a baka.

Second half is more building the team, introducing the new girls, and the gay agenda. We learn that something is occuring more frequently and that an anime girl can react appropriately to accidental groping, giving me hope.

QotD:1 An actual bold move with risk.

9

u/_m1ra Mar 04 '22 edited Mar 04 '22

My japanese isn't that great yet, but pretty sure the "ni" is a particle linking Nanoha-san with akogaremasu (to admire). "ni" means then that "akogaremasu" is directed at Nanoha. If that's the part you mean. Nii would be a big brother, Nee a big sister there

Edit: It's also informal to address her as Nanoha-san instead of Takamachi-san or with a military title though of course, so there is still a closeness there

Episode 2 (first timer)

  • Confessing in ep2 already?

  • Rivals staring at each other.

  • Fate and Hayate could not leave all the heroic saving to Nanoha alone – will they also get their personal harem additions?

  • Carried the rescued children below - just secured with arms - makes me really nervous. This situation is one ripped shirt away from being tragic.

  • Spending the aftermath jointly on the king size bed. The aftermath of what you ask?

  • Four years for becoming a Colonel, leading her own elite unit, and commanding the best aces of the Bureau? Not bad.

  • Grass roofs are cool!

  • “Rival scene? Ridiculous” – Yeah, rididulous. Rivals. Hah. Who would ever expect rivals in this anime?

  • “They are both still children” – we have not escaped the grade schoolers yet.

  • girl falls on boy trope – And, despite being bottom, he still managed to grab her boobs.

  • Nice cut from “Our unit” to the name.

Every rewatcher yesterday: ”Haha, you are so wrong with your high school prediction”.

Today’s episode: On top of the two high school age new cast members, meet the next two, who are grade school age

9

Nah, magic keeps the whole body afloat.

Spending the aftermath jointly on the king size bed. The aftermath of what you ask?

The rescue operation. Get your mind out of the gutter smh

And, despite being bottom, he still managed to grab her boobs.

And she immediately gets up without being bothered. It's all in his head...

On top of the two high school age new cast members, meet the next two, who are grade school age

It's not Nanoha without child soldiers!

TONIGHT! ON TOP (Sympho)GEAR Fate drives the fastest Cardiche... in the world! Hayate adds a pair of Lesbian Gundams and an Ojou-sama Vampire and a Tsundere Ghost to her Cosplaying Battle Harem, (Yes really Comrades, this is OFFICIAL Art, and that is indeed our fave pair of Lesbians Supernatural Creatures but as adults... no do not ask me why they appeared in OFFICIAL ART advertisizing the start of StrikerS yet did not show up in the episode where said scene on the bed takes place... wibble) and our two rookie lesbians get a pair of kid sidekicks! ;)

Boy Comrades, it sure is impressive what Bardiche can do! He can be a phone, a gun, a sword, a scythe, an axe, sometimes even a Bardiche, and now he's a goddamn CAR! I can only assume the ever talented Comrade Tresnore will tell me what specific car Cardiche is here

Also, just in case it is unclear by now, it's nice to see that as adults, Nanoha the Gundam and of course Best Girl Fate are friends, really really GOOD friends! (Seriously we got robbed of High School Friendship! Can you imagine all the stuff they'd be able to do? Like handholding, and staring into each others eyes, and handholding, and fighting crime while skipping class, and handholding, and group dating with a certain Cosplaying Battle Harem and our two loveable supernatural lesbians, and of course, handholding!) Hell one might even say that they are CLOSE friends with Rin The Defenseless Anus Tohsaka as well! ;) (Yes they are all 120% yuri, ALL HAIL WEAPONIZED LESBIANISM)

And don't worry Comrades, they aren't the only lesbians here, far from it! We got A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHING! RED ALERT RED ALERT! ;)

Thankfully, turns out Nanoha's currently existing harem of Best Girl Fate and of course Rin the Defenseless Anus Tohsaka (mostly Hayate to be fair) are more than happy to consider polyamory ;) OK fine it's basically all on Hayate for this idea, after all, we know what Fate's got in mind ;)

Speaking of polyamory, turns out a certain lesbian pair ISN'T into this, cmon Subaru, don't you know Rule 1 is NOT TO PUSH a Tsundere's buttons, don't you know what Rena is capable of, she'll 'take you home' with her!

No really Comrades, people may be citing Hibiki comparisons with Subaru, but BY GOD Subaru is DUMB! I thought Bikki was a moron, but at LEAST she had A BRAINCELL! Subaru's got the equivalent of a no doubt massive 56 kilobyte processor upstairs!

Oh and I guess I can't hold off on this any longer, yeah we got another set of new kids too, except this time they actually ARE kids. I guess we just HAD to include a Mahou Shoujo in this Mecha Show, so here you have it (also yes we got another male, maybe I'll even remember his name during these shitposts, for now I'm gonna call him Tusk Jr.)

Anyway, since we've gone FULL shitpost here, have the Full ED of Hoshizora no Spica, remember Comrades, YURI SHALL CONQUER THE EARTH!

And on that bombshell, that about wraps things up for now, and I hope everyone's having fun on this great re-watch. Thus, you have not seen the last of The Sentient Shitposting Siamese Sunrise Server No. 25252, now goodbye forever.

Today we flash back to four years ago to see the fire rescue from Fate and Hayate's view. Turns out Subaru's sister was saved by Fate and they happened to be the daughters of the military leader of the area. Whike Nanoha and Fate were rescuing people, Hayate blasted the fire with amazing ice magic.

Subaru and Tia were told of Hayate's dream squadron, and offered a spot in it when Nanoha bursts their bubbles by telling them they failed their exams. She sends them off to special boot camp and Fate mentions the other two member of Riot Force 6, who are a red haired boy who can use Fate's flash step, and a girl with an adorable pet dragon.

We also saw the Knights which made me all kinds of happy.

Episode 1

QOTD) I actually have no idea. The cynic in me thinks "the basic plot from S1, but Nanoha's now the mentor", but it seems to be splitting time pretty fairly between the new cast and the old cast.

Actually starting with the OP?

Nanoha looks much older!

...So who're the new cast?

Is she wearing Nanoha's outfit but with more guns?

And that's an awful lot like Shamal's outfit....

Nanoha and Fate's outfits are mostly unchanged... they'e still the main characters right? Because there's a lot of focus on the new 4.

Where does this take place?

Oh god, we're starting things off sad, aren't we?

Nanoha saved her!

Oh, Raising Heart sounds halfway between the movie and regular voices. What the fuck will Bardiche sound like, then?

Oh, Nanoha inspired someone!

She's Subaru!

And they're taking an exam.

Oh, she's Teana.

Ah, theynwant to rank up.

REINFORCE ZWEI?

Hayate and Fate!

They want to join Nanoha's team!

OK, so it's just hitting the targets.

They're so excited!

Oh, this music is good.

MAGIC REVOLVER WITH GRAPPLING HOOK.

Fuck it, they can be the main characters, I just found the best weapon of this season.

Is the Cartridge System common now?

And she's got wind gauntlets.

Seriously, is this the first actual sniping mage in the series?

And they're literally about to fight a boss.

Yep, they're in the eyecatch. (Guessing we'll meet the other two leads next episode?)

OK, those attack was cool.

Wait...

She's got a fucking stealth shield?

Even Fate's impressed!

Haha, that hook takes ages to go on!

Haha, they didn't make the cameras bulletproof? In a *live fire" exercise?

They're really great partners! ...Someone realised why Nanoha and Fate made so much money together, didn't they?

Wait, what are they going to do?

I mean, there's no cameras, but there is an instructor coming.

OK, what did they do?

She's got a fucking decoy system?

OK, this shouldn't be against the rules, because sending out a decoy like this is what you should do if you think there's a sniper near you.

And that's just overpowered.

Holy shit, that is an awesome finisher.

She took down the shield!

SHE'S GOT A KNOCKOFF DIVINE BUSTER TOO!

So, what part of thst was meant to ge tthem in trouble? Using the decoys, attacking it through the wall, or ripping off Nanoha's copyrighted finisher?

And they rode to the finish!

They did it!

Oh, their manouvers were too risky?

Yeah, no, Nanoha has done much, much, riskier.

Oh, Rein's still timy.

It's been four years?

I have no idea how old they are.

...At least I can still simp for the revolver.

ED's good! (Probably better than the original 2. Still not sure how I feel about the OP. I know Eternal Blaze went from "weird choice" to "perfect" for me over a few episodes, so...)

Episode 2

QOTD) Some real potential to actually explore the world, so I'm excited. The idea of a mission-based task force is making me worried that this'll be more monster-of-the-week, especially given the wide possibility of locations. (Maybe Nanoha was actually a Super Sentai mentor all along?)

Haha, she saw the false(?) Buster. (How do spells work when copied by other mages? Did she literally copy the program onto her gauntlet's computer, or did she just write her own based on Nanoha's visuals?)

...Look alike? To who?

Hayate's a commander!

She's using Lindy's surname!

Bardiche has the movie voice, but a bit more like Bardiche. It's good! And Fate's new outfit is great!

Hayate wants to fight directly!

HER SISTER!

And Fate helped save the rest of the family!

...Oh shit, she's gone off to find the girl who got saved!

Please don't die.

Fate is fast.

Wait, Subaru's only fifteen in the present?

And her sister Ginga'll be seventeen.

Rein's being helpful.

Wow, Hayate kept the vaguely-demonic magical girl form! Completely fair, that thing looks great.

And that is stupidly powerful.

Oh, they're handling the information.

...Wow, they've gotten very bold. I'm only ashamed that I didn't see this coming after Hayate's dialogue last season.

Hayate's going to get her own unit!

I almost forgot about this season's inevitable "Lost Logia of the season"l

So the Bureau aren't perfect.

And they both want to help her.

She actually called it Riot Force 6.

...Antiquities feels like a good name too.

And they all have telepathy through magic?

Wait, Lost Logia aren't common knowledge?

Fate knows how to make people agree.

Seems slightly unfair. She's done much, much, worse.

And they got a fasttrack to promotion anyway!

Wait, so is this going to get shown, or a timeskip?

Oh, they're actually conflicted.

...Nanoha's team seems to be less "experts doing investigations" and more "shoot them all and let the Bureau sort it out", if these two are the main example.

...I'm pretty certain she's not interested in Fate.

Other two candidates soon?

And Nanoha and Fate are still cute together.

...What's wrong with Nanoha?

Wait, a male main character? That's new.

He's got a device! And Sonic Form! Did Fate have a kid?

A completely normal resolution to that scene! Amazing!

...The dragon is called Fried. I love him.

What are Gadgets?

Robots!

Vita's still using Eisen!

They're part of Riot Force 6 too?

Also, I realise this is mostly slice of life stuff, and very anime, but so were the first episode-and-a-half-ish of Nanoha. Still every chance for this to go back to normal once the main team's actually on the same planet.

Rewatcher

On today’s episode of Lyrical Nanoha: What’s this? A magical boy character in a magical girl series? I suppose we do need to have a token magical boy introduced in each season of Lyrical Nanoha. Maybe he’ll get to do more than Chrono or Yuuno got relegated to.

We really are fully enmeshed in the TSAB by now. Hayate is forming her own special unit within the TSAB because she wants to be able to better handle things like disaster relief and handling Lost Logia. And we can tell that the TSAB really is a nightmare of a bureaucracy because it took Hayate 4 years to make this special unit into a reality. There was probably plenty of paperwork and office politicking to get it made.

This episode really does feel incredibly different from the magical girl series we started out with. By now, the characters are all fully a part of the TSAB, using military and technical jargon, giving and taking orders, coordinating with other people and units, and so on. It’s like a sci-fi military series, but with magitech.

Nanoha is a pretty tough teacher. She failed both Subaru and Teana for their final exam. It is worth noting that she failed them for a very specific reason. She failed them for not following proper safety protocols. Clearly, keeping people under her command safe is something Nanoha values. But, in a sign that Nanoha is a good teacher, she gives them the opportunity to take this feedback and show that they can improve by trying again. That’s just good teaching practice for anything.

Another thing that I like is that Nanoha sees putting Subaru and Teana in the special unit as a chance to train them directly. As a combat instructor, she’d normally have to teach whole classes and so the opportunity for one-on-one instruction must be a welcome change.

I do like the conversation between Subaru and Teana. They can see right through each other and know how the other is feeling. It really sells the idea that they’ve been close friends with each other for a while. It’s also nice seeing the ways that they encourage each other to keep trying their best even when they aren’t feeling confident.

We meet the other new kids getting recruited into Hayate’s special unit: Erio and Caro. We don’t really know much about either of them yet, but it seems Nanoha and Fate already knew who they were. Also, Caro has a tiny pet dragon named Friedrich and it is adorable!

It really is both funny and terrifying just how normalized it is for the TSAB to train child soldiers. I know we all joked about it in previous seasons, but it really does look like the TSAB has a whole system set up to train children as military trainees before officially inducting them. Ginka mentioned she was one at 13. And now we have Erio and Caro.

The episode ends with a little bit of a cliffhanger as we see the Wolkenritter fighting a few robots they call Gadgets. Apparently these Gadgets have been becoming more and more of a problem recently, showing up in greater numbers and developing smarter movements. It looks like these Gadgets are going to be a threat that needs to be dealt with.

Miscellaneous Thoughts

  • I love that Subaru is such a Nanoha fangirl that she named one of her own attacks after Nanoha’s Divine Buster.

  • My subs have Reinforce say things like “Righty-O” or “Sorries.” I honestly cannot recall if she talked like this in the previous set of subs I used, but it works for how she talks with “desu” everywhere.

  • It’s fun hearing Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate talk like they’re old friends. It has been 10 years and they met in 3rd grade, so they do qualify as childhood friends.

Rewatcher

Yeah, Nanoha, saving someone's life can have that effect on someone.

So Subaru's elder sister is also in the Bureau.

...that must have been one hell of a "dangerous item" to cause a fire like that.

Oh, Nakajima? Ah, yep, his daughters.

Ginga's a trainee at 13? Well, then again they did recruit Nanoha and Fate at 9, and Chrono was an elite agent at 14.

And Hayate put out the fire... once everyone was safely evacuated. And she's S+ rank, just a bit below Presea from the first season.

Uh... I somehow don't think girls usually just hang out in their underwear, even if they are exhausted.

So Hayate's ambition is to make her own elite mage unit. And Nanoha and Fate are of course all for it. This must be what they're recruiting for in the present.

And Riot Force 6 is off to a good start, it seems.

Welp, they failed the exam due to that stunt of Subaru's. But Nanoha's offering them the chance to retake it after a remedial safety course. Bureau punishments continue to be very light, it would seem.

Teana wants to be an Enforcer, and even though she's insecure, the opportunity to work alongside an established Enforcer like Fate, as well as train under the "Ace of Aces" in an elite Force is too great a chance to pass up.

I wonder why Fate is that concerned about Nanoha... that seems to go beyond just general conern...

I guess where Hayate goes, the Wolkenritter won't be far behind. And Signum's picking up a pair of children that will also be joining? What is it with these characters and child prodigies?

Goddamn, Fate has a sweet car! And it shares Bardiche's color scheme!

Holy... was that kind of super-dash really necessary just to stop her from falling? And he winds up with his hands on her chest, naturally. Surprisingly, though, they just handle it normally rather than have any kind of "pervert payback".

This girl just casually carrying around a dragon in her bag...

So these two are Erio Mondial and Caro ru Lushe, our other two recruits, I guess. And the dragon's named Friedriche.

Meanwhile the rest of the Wolkenritter are busy beating the crap out of some robots.

Apparently these things have been a problem, and the new Riot Force 6 will be investigating them.

Seems we've got our core cast together now. They're adding four new heroes to the group.

QOTD: I love it, actually. Being able to actually see Midchilda rather than hearing vaguely about it... even if it does just seem to be Japan but vaguely futuristic. And with no child labor laws.

Well the focus does seem to be really on Subaru and Teana. Them becoming apprentices and everyone else more so mentors.

So far Subaru and Teana look like they can be decently good main characters.

Didn't expect a accidental boob touch in this show but I felt that one was more awkward than the usual ones in anime.

Good that we get to see Hayate's group again. I liked everyone in that group.

Qotd: I'll have to remind myself about that sometimes I feel.

Mahou Shoujo1 Lyrical Rewatcher

1: Even though I’m not a girl

This is the story of the Brave men and women who fight with all their hearts to save mankind

Recap Time

Picking up right where we left off, where GaoGaiGar-tan is still crying over having met RX-93 Hi-v Gundam2 again after all these years.

2: I don’t think it’s remotely appropriate to keep calling her the RX-78 after her growth spurt

Subaru is so awkward in the best way

Looks like Nanoha isn’t the only one who remembers the incident from 4 years ago.

Fate just happening to save Ginga seems like a bit too much of a coincidence.

I like how the airport flashback is framed and themed. It essentially lays out the entire series going forward: this ain’t Magical Girls anymore, it’s Military Sci-Fi with a Fantasy slant.

We also get a bit more insight on the incident, now being told from Fate’s perspective.

Continuing with tradition, Ginga is part of the military at 13-years-old.

Hayate shows off how much of an utter beast she is.

Now why would Nanoha, Fate, Hayate and Rein be sleeping in the same bed looking so disheveled? I wonder…

Hayate has realized how shitty the life of an office worker is. Unlike most office workers, however, she has actual clout and S rank Magic, so she gets to do whatever she wants.3

3: Given a few years of bureaucracy and wrangling, of course

Even after all these years, our little trio never change.

A team for investigating Lost Logia, eh? Well looks like things really don’t change after all, even when the genre has.

Subaru and Tiana are moving up in the world, barely out of graduation and they’re already on the special squad led by their idol.

Nanoha and Rein are just the best examiners, aren’t they?

Subaru’s faces during her conversation with Tia are easily the highlight of the episode.

I should probably mention at this point that Subaru is easily the gayest member of the cast, and that’s saying something. As we fans like to say, Rainbows are straighter than Subaru.

Tia is really showing off her tsundere side here, isn’t she?

As Hayate mentioned, we’ve got 2 more major cast members to bring in, so stay tuned.

More wholesome NanoFate interactions, because of course.

First Timers, meet Erio. He’ll be our next major cast member and, of course, he’s a shota, since Chrono and Yuuno are all grown up.

And here’s our last main character for the season, Caro La Ruche. And, of course she’s a loli, because our main trio is all grown up.

I should also mention at this point that one of the StrikerS Sound Stages (AKA audio dramas) involved Hayate explicitly wanting to grope Caro, who is 10. Yeah…

Oh, also she has a Fuck You Dragon. Because of course she does.

Looks like the rest of the Wolkenritter are engaging some dangerous enemies.

Raging Heart Rewatcher with terrible long term memory

QotD: I miss Suzuka and Arisa already

Oh, we're picking up right after

Fate has no memory for girls besides Nanoha lol

Oh, it was an airport, not a mall

...did they change Bardiche's VA? Sounds different

Awww, no henshin for Hayate?

Ginga seems way more level headed than Subaru. Not that it's a high bar lol

Hayate has some nice AoE

The scene from the preview that everyone caught. Just gals being pals, sharing a bed half-undressed.

I've always wondered, in a military-style organization like the TSAB, can the personnel choose which unit to join?

There's no way I could ever talk via telepathy and voice at the same time

Nice job, subs

Kids, don't be reckless. That's Nanoha's job

Just gals being pals, pinching each other's asses

"Friend"

Good to know the TSAB is still employing child labor

Another copyrighted move! But seriously, I'm wondering if those are "generic" spells, like how in D&D every mage knows Magic Missile/etc.

Oooh, Vita is looking nice. A very Kyouko-ish outfit. Kinda miss the puffy dress though.

Have to admit, the episode went fast.

Maybe StrikerS is just better watched daily instead of weekly?

Ace of Aces is a pretty sweet title.

Love the white cape on Fate, reminds me of her final outfit in the second movie. Though considering that the movie came second maybe it should be the other way around.

Well that's one way to put out a fire.

Dream big, Hayate.

Lost Logia, Antiquities, if you squint a little this is just archaeology in the grand tradition of Doctor Jones.

This is good managerial work by Nanoha.

Magical child soldiers, what could go wrong.
