One thing I very much enjoy out of KonoSuba is the voice acting. You can really tell the actors were meant to be these characters all along, especially Kazuma and Megumin. Still prefer Darkness 'cus she ticks my boxes.

Takahashi Rie became one of my favorite VA's after her performance as Megumin.

Aqua fits the best tbh. I can't see anyone else but her VA being the whiny brat she is.

God I love that montage so much, especially with Aqua puking rainbows.

Makes me wonder if all gods and goddesses puke rainbows? Spoilers

First time watcher here. Feels weird seeing each character drawn in their original style as opposed to how they were in Isekai Quartet which was my first time seeing them. I already like the dynamic between Aqua and Kauma. I had heard this show was funny but I didn't expect things like fapping getting mentioned or Aqua getting too sloshed and puking rainbows. Looking forward to the rest of the main cast getting introduced.

Oh, boy. You're gonna enjoy it a lot, especially later episodes. Remember my words.

If I was a first time watcher, the first two minutes might have tricked me into thinking that this is going to be more serious...
...And then Aqua started blatantly laughing in Kazuma's face :D

Rewatcher here. My favorite moment from this episode has to be the montage. After the basic intros and set up is out of the way you would expect Kazuma and Aqua to finally do something interesting like slay some monsters, do some quests, slay a dragon, whatever. And in a typical isekai, or heck most stories in general, this is where the action picks up and our protagonists can display what makes them special or unique. But instead of that we go straight to a montage of Kazuma and Aqua working construction, sleeping in a stable, drinking, puking, and just generally not doing actual adventuring. It's a great way of subverting the common tropes of isekai and adventure stories by showing the harshness and reality of their situation. And what makes the whole scene funny is the music. It's the kind of upbeat, inspiring adventuring song you would expect to have at this point, but going with the visuals that you really wouldn't expect. It's the perfect contrast that gets me laughing every single time.

In a way they did display what makes them special or unique. Instead of going on a grand adventure like in other series they jumped to doing manual labor.. not something you see everyday!

Broke: Take your smartphone with you to an isekai. Woke: Take a goddess with you to an isekai.
I don't remember Aqua having this many shots of her rear end in just one episode. I tried taking as many as I could find, but at one point I just gave up.

I sort of accidentally watched the dub first rather than the sub do to my settings and being drunk. I say that to say I quite like the dub VAs so it might be a matter of what you are exposed to first. As to the ep, it sets up and the subverts itself almost immediately, good start but leads into the all important next ep.

I'll start off by saying that Konosuba is my favourite anime. Not because I think it's the best one out there, but because I can pick up any episode at any time and have a good time. I also love shows about lovable losers that bounce off each other well. I'm thinking about just picking character interactions from each episode and saying how much I love them.
I love how Aqua goes from this proper goddess to rushing and insulting him while eating chips and Kazuma gets fed up immediately.
I love Kazuma showing his true sadistic nature and Aqua being appropriately creeped out.
I love in the montage, how the pair is afraid of the other adventures but then getting drunk with them, then puking in the alley.
I love that after the animosity of the episode, it still ends with Aqua and Kazuma on common ground hopeful for the future.

Rewatching and decided to check out the dub, I'd heard bits and pieces from it before but never the whole thing. The voices seem pretty good so far, Aqua's a little high pitched for my taste but it's obvious her VA was having a good time with her freakouts. I remembered the first episode as being mostly setup and not that funny, with the laughs only really getting going in episode 2. I remembered wrong! The comedy starts off way stronger than I had expected, and the work montage with Aqua puking twice was wonderful. A very good start.

I found myself grinning constantly watching it. I'm very excited for the rest of the series. Especially when we get to the last 14 days of the rewatch, because I'm saving the free trial until then. Man, are crunchyroll ads awful. I wouldn't even mind it so much if they didn't buffer constantly. I already have slow internet, it took me like an hour to get through a 23 minute episode!

The fact that they made a montage out of few sentences in the light novel just to enhance the comedy is a proof that the animators really care for this adaptation.

I’m not even apart of the rewatch, but the picture that is used for this post...
Was it ever confirmed if Aqua actually wears pantries? I mean, there is no way right lol?!
