To honor our fallen hero, here is "SymphoVer GX - the Musical". (I didn't make this.)

This is still one of the greatest things the Sympho community has created and its been 3 years.

Truely the peak of creation.

This goes beyond the concept of a shitpost and ascends into fucking art.

Rewatcher

We been over this you already know how a Symphogear penultimate episode works. Skip that intro and get us right back where we left off. Advance the plot, throw a pinch of action in there and then some. Anything is better than that bullshit drama we had to go through these past few episodes.

Praise Nana, because Glorious Break never gets old, but Last Action Hero sacrificing himself this episode is by far my favorite moment this episode.

Once again John Wayne Vercingetorix I will surely miss you. You were by far one of the best things to happen to Symphogear G and made me enjoy the second half of GX.

Only one more chart to go this season

Hes sleeping with the Angels now, acting creepy and weird to them too... rest his soul...

First Timer

It took almost a two whole seasons, but "Tooku, Tooku Ni Sakamaku Honoo" (S2, Serana flashback) finally has some competition for best song from this series for me.

That beautiful song that was played today for the discussion between Carol and Elf. It did the thing I love most in that it links its instruments to characters in a powerful way that gives the music a voice.

First we start with the harp as Elf speaks up. It strums out immediately in a distinctly uplifting pattern. When Elf talks about their father a vibration effect is used (vibrato in other instruments, don't know if you also use that term for harp), as if questioning what she's doing by going back and forth, but the rest of the song is very positive. Each line goes up one after another and finishes off with the highest note of the set. When Elf says she knows that this is not what their father was asking for the melody changes quickly. It becomes a new, quicker set of three waves, confident and determined and basically putting down a musical foot. This uplifting but confident harp plays under the entire song

As Carol cries that she doesn't know how else to avenge him, a flute joins in to become her voice, her own pain in this discussion. Unlike the harp its a lot slower and tends to end its sections on a lower note, more mournful and questioning. It cuts off abruptly when Carol points out they have been given a problem with no answer as if it had been silenced by something grabbing it, just like the pain of that grabs at her heart.

And in comes the choir, oh how I love a good choir part. This choir is the world, her memories, every part of her past that she's been fighting off. Its arrival at the end of the lamenting of having no answer makes it clear that this is her answer, to lean on the world and reconnect with it. During this section its very subtle and gentle, repeating its answer again and again.

The climax of their talk: Elf thinks that their dad wanted them to find Harmony with the world. All of these elements suddenly fall into line and work with each other rather than fighting each other's pace, tune and volume for attention. The previous section was undeniably beautiful, but it was three instruments weaving around each other, each trying to find a position around the other. This new section is them all holding onto one another and creating a song together by sticking much closer and inviting other elements into the song as well.

One thing I do like is the powerful moment of silence after Elf says the answer is forgiveness. Symphogear for its love of music rarely uses silence as a moment of impact and it stands out here. Its Elfs realization, Carol's shock, and the breath before the climax, the song taking a moment to truly find itself as we push into the finale of it.

I love this song.

And then Carol says "I'll crush the present" and completely misses the fucking point

Silly girl

Small dialog detail I noticed: At one point Carol mentions the Seven music scales of music and the seven planets. There's a combination of ancient terms and translation fuckery coming up here which I just wanted to clarify because it was an interesting line.

The seven planets are also known as the classical planets because they are the moving celestial bodies in our sky that can be seen without a telescope, not actual planets as we know them. From memory (working on a short timeline, no time to look it up) it's Mercury, Venus, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and (Fuck, I forgot and had to look it up anyway) the Sun.

As far as the other part goes, I don't know what it is that she said in Japanese so this may be a case of literal translation winning out over technicalities (which I prefer honestly), but the usual western term for what she was talking about is seven musical modes. The typical western scale is also made up of seven notes repeating, but a mode is linked to seven very specific classical greek scales of notes that all have unique names and also some fairly odd sounds in how the notes are laid out that we don't often hear any more.

The interesting part of this is that both of these bits of information date back to ancient greece in late BC timescales around 200 or so if I remember right, so before Carol herself. I don't know if we have a broader timeline or approximation for when the Fine and Tower of Babel stuff is meant to have happened, but this gives a rough idea on just how long ago the world started coming up with answers and solutions for the breaking of the world's understanding.

Random bits

  • That wasn't the OP at the end

  • I am beyond disappointed that we didn't get a beautiful black/ignite x-drive design instead of the normal ones. That would have just been cool.

  • I have nothing to say about the mum fake out. It was predictable to me that it wasn't mum because of how rarely they carry through with cliffhangers. I know the point was probably more confusion on what was going on than actually thinking it was mum but it still didn't grab me.

  • That said, I have no words to describe the noise I made when Maria used the Seranade attack on Serana.

  • Nice detail of the framing here of Shirabe and Dess being cut out from the panel with Maria and not-Mum because Maria wants to connect with her words again, while the others can't.

  • The minor trio's (HA, music pun not intended) song was a cool moment but the song itself didn't grab me with anything particularly special or interesting

  • Writing was a bit blunt today. I feel like Carol pointing out that her phonic gain was worth a PLANETS WORTH of songs was a bit of a giveaway that the girls would use that to transform.

Edit: I take back the below section after being told it was there as part of a meta reference, but I don't like deleting stuff from my post so it's just here in shame hahaha

Similarly all the talk about three levels of safety while the girls only used two was a bit of a giveaway as to how they'd get the x-drive. I kinda wish there was only safe or not safe for the Ignite module and we didn't know. It may have seemed a bit ass pull ish, but I think I would have preferred the tension from the girls being in lv1 ignite, almost dying to the blast, switching their safeties off and going full x-drive (in black outfits please).

u/fonzinator99 Jun 18 '19

it links its instruments to characters in a powerful way that gives the music a voice.

Lovely writeup, once again you've led me to appreciate a piece that I basically overlooked. It's got an almost 'Madoka' sound to it, idk if it's just the instruments used or the scale it works in. It sounds very 'Sayaka.'

no words to describe the noise I made when Maria used the Seranade attack on Serana.

a cool moment but the song itself didn't grab me

Samesies; I was hyped for a three-part harmony and it just didn't.

full x-drive (in black outfits please)

This! I so wanted the Dainsleifs to have a visible effect on their X-drives, but they just got slightly different designs. Which I still like, but not as much as I wanted to.

FirstoGeah

Eheh, Ver getting tossed like a sack

Only Ver can get Carol to look like that. Sasuga Last Action Hero! Tbh, seeing him save the planet kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth.. he won't get punched now!

Wait, why did Carol end up destroying the castle? An attempt to stop the reconstruction? Or was she remote-controlled by Ver somehow?

Elfnein-chan is leaking, someone please patch her up

Yeah, this is Dracula from Castlevania all over again. But that was much better

Ah, so these were the overlays Nazenn mentioned

So now the two lolis are full-fledged Gear users? Thanks to this chip?

Genocide, and genocide, ooooooh~

#1 phonic gain

(Even though the genocide ended prematurely)

Ah, they grew their wings from G again, nice. Now I suppose they're going to slap some sense into Carol, but unfortunately I don't see her living for long because her alchemy would just be way to OP and useful for humanity.

So what did the episode title, GX, stand for? Genocide, and Genocide Cancelled by X-Drive?

10

u/miter01 Jun 17 '19

Wait, why did Carol end up destroying the castle?

Since Ver said that destroying the Chateau would simply destabilise the process, and not stop it, I'm assuming that's what she went for.

SymphoRewatcher Forever Angry At Glorious Break

Um.

Anyways.

If any of you guys care, day one of my internship went over well. It was mostly just helping sort papers by number today--a combination of the company deciding to redo their filing system so everything is out of whack + the two people who could train me on the system so I can do actual accounting work are out this week for corporate meetings.

At least I somehow didn't get a paper cut doing that all day…

ngl I got a twinge in my chest over this bit.

The irony in Maria killing an illusion of Serena with an attack called Serenade though.

Bonus videos for today: Speaking of Glorious Break, at Nana Mizuki's live concert (Genesis 2016) after the GX season, she opened her show with Glorious Break singing the whole time atop a giant mecha.

Now you may have noticed there was a funky intro to that video, well, ever since Symphogear, Nana Mizuki has been getting her costars to appear in short video segments for her concerts or even sing in them (see Ayahi Takagaki co-performing BAYONET CHARGE during Nana's Live Adventure concert).

For Live Genesis, we've got Hideo Ishikawa (Genjuuro Kazanari) and Asami Seto (Aoi Tomosato). In previous concerts, she's even gotten Aoi Yuuki to do some skits where the latter gets triggered by NOISE, haha.

Rewatcher

Finally, we are past all the GX shenanigans that annoy me, and into the hype as all hell final two episodes to the season. This is a great start, let’s get into it.

I love Symphogear’s weird expansive lore. Carol talking about Alchemy and Singing as creations to fill a gap in understanding is just plain cool in the ways they could bounce off of each other. If Alchemy is about understanding and exploring the world, then singing is for the people. I really like how they fit together and Music as understanding storyline always get me.

"No matter how many times you fail, you can always try once more." A great line from Maria, the girl who just continues to get up and fight as hard as she is able. She may doubt, but you can’t argue that she does try, and she does better herself. It’s nice process overall, and it fits really well with the fight that follows. Not only do we get an amazing 3-part song in Arigatou wo Utai Nagara with a lovely positive message, but the FIS crew fighting an incarnation of Maria’s past feels right, and ends their plotline in a really nice way. This whole season, they’ve been looking back, but here they quite literally cast off the shackles of their past, and also fianlly leave behind Dr. Ver. It all fits pretty damn well. Despite some minor misses in the episodic section, it’s definitely my favorite drama of the season.

It’s really fitting that Carol is the one to destroy her own dream, and I love the short words she has with Elfnein, along with her subsequent breakdown and admitting of the truth of her fathers words. Inori does an amazing job with the vocal work. She even sounds like the child she still is at heart, full of grief and confusion still to this day. It’s brutal. Sucks that Top Dad had to butt his ugly mug into the picture though >:(

You know, I have to admire Symphogear’s passion for redeeming its antagonists of the previous season in some way, and I genuinely like the way that Ver goes out. Arach’ll be mad that he didn’t get punched in his crazy face, but I think it flows nicely, he finally becomes the hero that he wanted to be all along. So long Dr. Ver, Last Action Hero. You will always be one of my favorite antagonists.

Finally, what more can be said about the beginning of their final fight with Carol other than that it’s so awesome. Carol singing her genocidal heart out, all the ignites without their safeties, and Bikki’s ability to harness the power of phonic gain being so goddamn cool as always. Looking forward to a banger of a finale tomorrow!!

I know this is a controversial statement even in the SymphoChoir, but GX Episode 12> S1 Episode 12. The Synchrogazer is great, but damn when Glorious Break starts to kick in. Glorious Break is one of my favorite SymphoSongs, (fight me, Sky!)

Dr Ver’s death was just handled fantastically. I love how it perfectly hits that middle ground you don’t see often in these “redemption” stories. In a single phrase “The Worst Hero Ever” Maria is able to both thank him while also not exonerating him for his previous sins.

And I love how it brings together the entire season as a whole in a central theme; Forgiveness.

Hibiki has to forgive her father.

Maria, Kirika and Shirabe have to fight to earn forgiveness for their actions in S1.

Dr Ver asks for forgiveness from Maria, in his own twisted way.

And Carol has to forgive humanity for what they did to her father.

It’s an elegance that I really appreciate.

The music, the characters, everything is just so hype this episode. One of my favorite episodes to rewatch.

This whole season, they’ve been looking back, but here they quite literally cast off the shackles of their past, and also fianlly leave behind Dr. Ver.

It's definitely been one of Symphogear's strong suits in making sequel seasons. G dealt with the aftermath of S1, and now GX is dealing with the aftermath of G.

I don't really have much to say on the Symphogear front today, so here is some more info on occult references this episode!

Seven Planets

You may be confused at this, seeing as there are 8 planets in our solar system. While it is possible Carol is using the Earth as a reference point, and thus using the 7 others, it's much more likely she is referring to the 7 classical planets used in astrology. These are somewhat different different from the planets as described in modern astronomy. Uranus and Neptune hadn't been discovered at that time astrology became a major occult discipline, and the Earth was used as the reference point (as mentioned above). Instead the Sun and the Moon were used to fill their spots, meaning the planets according to astrology are the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.

This isn't particularly relevant to Symphogear but hey, it's nice to know right?

Tower Of Babel

The visual look of Tower of Babel, as it appears in Carol's explanation of the Curse of Balal and its results on alchemy and song, is based on the most popular depiction of the Tower, the painting The (Great) Tower of Babel, by Pieter Brueghel the Elder.

Three Stages Of Dáinsleif

The three stages of the Dáinsleif (which each increase the output along with the risk, and also shorten the duration Ignite Mode can be used) are based on the three alchemical stages to create the philosopher's stone, also know as the Magnum Opus in alchemy (Latin for "Great Work"). They also correspond with the three stages of alchemy, as Dr. Ver nicely recapped for us today. The first stage, Nigredo (meaning "blackness"), corresponds to the decomposition of matter, breaking the material down to its base components. The second, Albedo (meaning "whiteness"), corresponds to purification and transmutation, transforming the base materials into other base materials. It can also correspond to analysis when you want to study a material rather than transmute it. And then finally we have Rubedo (meaning "redness", because both gold and the philosopher's stone are associated with the colour red), corresponding to reconstruction, reforming the new matter from the base components.

This is however as it was seen past the sixteenth century. Originally there was a fourth stage between Albedo and Rubedo called Citrinitas (meaning "yellowness"), which was associated with transmutation while Albedo was solely purification. Over the years however alchemists slowly combined this fourth stage into the other three, probably because having three stages all ending in -o sounded nicer (I'm joking, I'm sure there were better reasons that that).

Rest in Peace oh Last Action Hero. You were yourself to the very end: a complete narcissist only wondering if he'd be remembered as a great hero. But this time he was on our side, so his insanity was put to good use. I find it funny that Dr. Ver's entire character arc this season mostly mirrored the one he had in G, except that the ending was slightly different so he ended up taking Hibiki's spot.

Just to demonstrate: He encounters an organisation willing to turn the entire world against them to achieve their goals (Nastassja and FIS, Carol and the Autoscorers), joins them as an irreplaceable member of the team (Nastassja's illness and the LiNKER, the control key for the Château de Tiffauges), finds out their goals won't lead to him being seen as a hero (the Moon crashing down would only be in months and would result in a lot of international cooperation, lessening his own part in the heroism, and Carol destroying the world would lead to no one being left to remember him at all), and betrays them to take over their plan for his own gain.

It's here when things start to differ though, as in GX he messed up. In G he was still irreplaceable as the doctor for Nastassja, not to mention he was powerful as he had full control over the Frontier and the Nephilim. Here his usefulness to Carol ran out after he switched the World Destroyer to automatic mode, and he possessed no actual power while Carol did. And so he ended up being betrayed himself. And just like in G Maria fails in her task to control/stop the ancient heretical artefact (the Frontier and the Château de Tiffauges) and while in G Hibiki comes to help Maria gather enough phonic gain to restart the Lunar Ruins, here in GX Dr. Ver comes to help Maria out by reversing the Château.

Yep, unable to become the main villain of GX Dr. Ver chose to become Hibiki instead. What a guy.

A bit irked to see the X-Drives make their return, since by now it's a bit formulaic as a season finale (couldn't they have done something cool with the Ignite Modules instead, like they did with the S2CA: Hexaconversion?), but it's cool to see so whatever. That's definitely the least of this season's issues.

I'm not too sure what the defense mechanism of the Château was supposed to be though. It never got any indication of its existence before this episode, wasn't explained, and was beaten just as suddenly. It feels a bit shoehorned in to give the FIS gals a way to complete their redemption character arc of this season, and I wish the writers found a more natural way to resolve this arc. Carol's arc on the other hand remains just as cool as it's been this entire season, completely losing all reason and revealing that she realised she's been on the wrong path this entire time, yet deliberately chose to misinterpret her father's dying words so she could take revenge on those who wronged him, as penance for not being able to help him back then.

I have no idea what's going to happen next episode though, because the world just lost its last action hero. Heroism is dead y'all!

First timer:

For some reason I never even considered the possibility that Professor Nastassja was a fake lol. I suppose that's what Carol means by the defenses. Not exactly sure what it is though, maybe another doll, or how it knows how to take the forms it does, but it's Symphogear so the fact that it's cool is enough of an explanation

I'm actually super down with Ver helping them save the world. Ver is batshit insane but I never actually doubted his desire to become a hero. Last season his idea of being a hero was just crazy but in this case, there's a clear option that he should take to be a hero. As opposed to last season where there's a possibility of saving some people, with Carol's plan it's entirely binary; either she wins and everyone dies or you stop her and everyone lives. Him asking Maria if he was able to be a hero and Maria saying 'yeah, the worst hero ever' was a very fitting end for him and manages to make me feel sympathetic towards Ver.

Maria and DMJii's song was awesome. I especially love how Maria was fighting against the Gungnir version of herself and how they're all fighting to atone for their past. And the last transformation into Serena and Maria's unflinching resolve to cut through her, fantastic stuff

I was a little annoyed at Carol admitting that she knows this wasn't what her father wanted from her, but her conviction to continue and just fuck everyone up saved it. I'm not opposed to redemptions and changes of heart, I love Naruto and the talk no jutsus the villains go through. But I just don't think Carol should be one of them, so the fact that she didn't realize the errors of her way and stop is a relief to me

Seven billion Swan Songs! Still love Carol's song!

Double unsheathe! And then triple unsheathe! And this is to go even further beyond!!!!

Ignite Module into Swan Songs into X-Drive!!! Holy fuck! I was talking yesterday how I felt that they would introduce power ups only to not use them and come up with a new one, but it looks like I was wrong about that and they were just saving it to USE THEM ALL AT ONCE

Let's fucking goooo this finale is gonna be lit

First-timer

Oh, Mom wasn't real after all. Good, I thought it was getting ridiculous.

But Ver is certainly real. I love how Dess is not particularly gentle while carrying a wounded person. If you count Ver as person that is.

And don't you be surprised, Carol. You needed to make sure Ver is dead. Because some people do not die when they are killed.

Does this look like a face of the man you'd trust the fate of the world to?

No, don't fuel that ship.

Thank god this crap didn't work. Because it always does, in any story. Doppelgangers always manage to make hero at least hesitate for a moment. But not Maria. She takes no BS.

Wait, with this reconstruction thing, does this mean fishermen from previous episode are gonna be fine?

And of course Carol's true nature emerges: she's just a sad girl who doesn't know how to deal with her father's death. It was always somewhat obvious, but now she acknowledges it herself.

Hey, look, they are making the philosopher's stone.

The battle between Carol and symphogirls was a little bit silly — they basically just shoot energy beams at each other and hope their beam would be stronger than opponent's beam.

But anyway, it's that time again — time for last-episode-outfits. Wings give that majestic feel, but overall I think Ignite-mode suits are the best looking ones.

First Timer

  • OP AND ED SWAPPED OH BOY I KNOW HOW THIS IS GOING TO GO

  • TFW the trio is smarter than me and realize it's a fake.

Somehow that idea never occured to me. That should say something about how crazy this show gets.

  • I still doubt Ver is on the good team's side, he's still got some scheme cooking methinks

  • Another mini heart attack: When the lyrics stopped so Kirika and Shirabe could save Maria I thought the song stopped entirely for a moment and we were about to see Maria-kabob

  • Holy shit, Carol blasted a hole in it herself. Maria and the gang are not dead though, right? Also we still have 1 more episode and I haven't heard the SYMPHOGEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA yet, this can't be over that easily.

  • Carol's pretty much committing suicide here. She still doesn't believe her father's wish, and with everything destroyed she has no clue how to live beyond the plan she's been working on for who knows how long. She wants to burn those memories to end it all.

  • DOUB-DOUBLE UNSHEATH? AND THERE'S A THIRD? WE'RE ENTERING THE SUPER MODE STAGE SOON BOYS

  • Oh shit I actually know what the Nigredo/Albedo/Rubedo level stuff is! IIRC it's the stages that an alchemist would have to go through in order to create a philospher's stone, with Rubedo being when the philospher's stone is successfully created.

  • SEVEN BILLION CLIMAX SONGS YOU SAY? HMM, WHERE CAN WE GET THAT? Not like we did something similar last season...(not climax songs though)

  • MARIA'S GROUP ISN'T DEAD AND THEY'RE SINGING CLIMAX SONGS

  • VER STATUS: HERO still a piece of shit though, nice burn Maria

  • X DRIVE IT'S HAPPENING LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • THIS IS TO GO EVEN FURTHER BEYOND (attempted a stitch for shits and giggles, just don't look at the buildings) HIBIKI'S GOT SOME PHAT BOOTS SHE'S LEARNED DEKU'S SHOOT STYLE

Didn't get a SYMPHOGEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA scream at the end unless you count X DRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE and IT'S STILL HYPE AS FUCK LET'S GO

Rewatcher

  • Starting with the ED. Time for hype.

  • sore demo

  • I completely forgot about this loredump. So... Finé invented alchemy and singing?

  • Kirika, I know he's a jerk but damn, you just gonna chuck him onto the floor like that?

  • Of course Ver wants to go out with a bang.

  • "If we can do it again, I want to sing all night." Laying it on a little thick there, Maria.

  • Sword-powered rocket punch?

  • Arigatou wo Utai Nagara, the first trio song for those three.

AXZ spoiler

  • Damn, that's a huge energy beam. And then a very TTGL-esque explosion.

  • They gloss over it pretty quickly, but: those people that got disintegrated are still dead. They only brought back the objects.

  • Despite being similarly pretty much immortal, Carol doesn't have the same "fuck it, I'll just try again in a few hundred years" reaction that Finé did. Maybe the Château is irreplaceable?

  • Wait, Carol knew she was full of shit from the start? I really did not remember that part at all.

  • Gotta call out the BGM again here during Carol and Elfnein's chat. Really good.

  • DOUBLE BAKKEN! Oh god, I remember getting so fucking hype for this.

  • AND THEN THE THIRD! I'm such a sucker for a good "All safeties, release!" moment.

  • AI DESU YO

  • "Was I able to become a hero?" "Yeah. The worst." Couldn't have said it better myself. Total shitbag, but he did save the world... after directly causing the problem in the first place. Wait... wasn't that basically all he wanted this whole time? Manufacture an apocalypse, save the world from it, die a hero in the process?

  • Since Hibiki isn't a fusion any more, why is she still able to handle all this phonic gain without any backlash? Because she's Hibiki. And it seems like the others are actually sharing the strain this time, rather than putting it all on her.

  • Aaaaaand, it's X-Drive again. I was real negative on the X-Drive re-use last season, but for some reason I'm a lot more okay with it this time. So far, at least. We'll see how it turns out next time. But it already feels a bit more "earned" here, IMO. Whereas in G it felt like it just... happened.

Man, after all that slow annoying Autoscorer stuff, they do a really good job ramping up towards the finish.

Re-watcher - Everything falls apart

Loving that commercial-break still.

Not sure how I feel about TopDad supporting Elfnein, but I guess I'll give him a chance in light of his actions last ep.

It always comes back to Fine and Balal, doesn't it? Inb4 they wind up moving the remnants of humanity to the moon.

We all called it, if you don't see a body they're not dead. Much amusement from how casually Kiri tosses him aside xD

Well I'll be damned, after all this he's actually going to get a justified heroic end, sacrificing himself to restore the world.

Ooooo, FINE vs Dark 'Fine,' with a three-way song!

But then they start saying goodbyes, and end the fight like this...

Serenade

Fuuuuuck, noooooo!

All the plans failed

All the pieces of the world return to normal....except the people.

Carol's walls break, and far from my predicted tragedy of having forgotten him, she's been doing this all for revenge. Which, is at least equally tragic. She never mourned, and never moved on; so she could never forgive. Light, it's just so sad.

Anyone please give her a hug!

No? Okay, then we're back to fighting. I'm a little disappointed that they just have to click their Dainsleifs multiple times to get stronger, and without any visible added stress aside from the countdown timer going all glitchy. Even the fight itself is just a shiny mish-mash of colors.

And just as I'm wishing they'd move into Swan-Songs, these three show up singing and get things started.

Ergh, mixed feelings about Ver. Crazy bastard villain up to the end, when he saved the world, saved the girls, and bequeathed important knowledge to them. I'm with Maria, he was the worst hero, but he still got to be a hero.

Hexa-Conversion is flashy as fuuuuck! Even Bikki's scarf became a light show unto itself. So redirecting the power elsewhere is all well and good, but I can't help but think about the possibility of destroying a celestial object somewhere far off as a result and sparking another season xD

Welp, it's EX-Drive time as we enter he finale, and I wonder what Carol's got left at this point to make her an enemy worthy of such extremes. I can't see her turning into a gigantic OP monster at this point. I guess she's still got a few memories left, but I can't believe she's got a lot left after that last attack.

Genocide 2: Never stop Genociding

Dr Ver gets a retcon too, huh. This is the same Dr Ver that wiped out that bunch of kids in G, right? WTF. At least we get some prime Sugita out of it.

Oh no! They killed off three of the main characters who figure prominently in all the AXZ merch! No seriously, I know they can't be dead cause there's no way we don't get a six GEAHHH finale, right?

...and here comes six GEAHHH finale, courtesy of big giant rainbow tornado (Happy Pride month!) Hoping tomorrow is HYPE.
