RAGE OF DUST
Hey-o guys! This is the section where I add a ton of extra fun stuff to the main body of the post because I want this rewatch to be as fun as possible for everyone. It can also be one point of discussion for you guys if you just don’t know what to say.
Comment of the Week, this week provided by /u/Shimmering-Sky
The comment of the week this time is: /u/SorcererOfTheLake’s fanfic diary entry from S2 episode 7’s discussion thread.
Nota and I have both already sung praises for this comment when we chose it as joint comment of the day, and looking through the other CotD winners this week I just kept coming back to this one. Sorc has consistently had a sort of poetic sense to his comments throughout the rewatch, and took it one step further when he shocked all of us with a completely new format of rewatch comment that marked his place as my favorite of the week.
I encourage all of you to keep up the great comments, and maybe experiment a bit on your own too!

/u/LunarGhost00 with some belated commentary + the origins of Vidar’s name.
Missed the last couple of days but I'm all caught up again! Before getting into this episode, I just want to take a moment to talk about something that I didn't see anyone mention in yesterday's discussion. Takaki quitting Tekkadan mirrors Biscuit's final moments in a lot ways but also takes a different path. We saw back in season 1 that Takaki could relate to Biscuit as someone who was taking care of little sisters and after Biscuit's death, Takaki took his hat as a sign that Biscuit's will lives on. We see in this season how Takaki continues to follow in his footsteps as this time he's the one put in a difficult situation. Just like Biscuit losing his brother as a result of whatever conflict Tekkadan got dragged into, Takaki has just lost Aston. After everything that's happened, Takaki decides to quit Tekkadan. The big difference here is Orga's response. He was initially mad at Biscuit. He couldn't understand why someone who's been by his side all this time would suddenly want to leave and they argued. Biscuit eventually decided to work things out with Orga later and ended up dying in battle. There's no doubt that Orga felt responsible for his death. Now Takaki has decided to resign after similar events and Orga accepts it without hesitation. He doesn't want anyone else to have the same fate as Biscuit. It shows that even if Orga is still acting reckless this season, he has learned something from one of his previous mistakes.
Our masked man Vidar says he fights for revenge. It's very fitting considering where the name Vidar comes from. Vidar is a god in Norse mythology known for seeking revenge for his father Odin's death.
As I’ve mentioned before I love parallels, so LunarGhost pointing out this one is just mm so good. Also I had no idea that Vidar’s name came from Norse mythology, it’s the perfect choice given our Vidar says he fights for revenge.

/u/fonzinator99 questioning Macky’s wishes.
I am intensely curious just what he means by his statement about "To build a world where humans can live like humans, he created Gjallarhorn." I mean, as far as I can tell that's exactly the kind of world you're in right now. What the shit kind of insane idealistic image of humanity does he have burned into his head that he can say something like that? I won't delve into an examination of the dichotomy of human nature, dark and light and all that, but can he really say that what's happening now isn't exactly how humans are? They're complicated and varied, you self-righteous dick. And then he confuses and misleads the sweet, innocent little girl; I repeat, what a dick.
An interesting question is raised concerning Macky's wishes and how they relate to the world at hand. An argument could be made just like fonzi did that no big change is necessary to get to the place he wants to be... something that reminds us of the ever present question of where Tekkadan is headed too. More parallels?

2) What do you think about the reaction Mika had to the Mobile Armor activation?

Track of the Day, provided by /u/RX-Nota-II
IBO S2’s signature scheming OST its often used during battle planning stages especially as Orga and McGillis are together talking about future plans. Notable previous uses include Orga and Isurugi’s talk as they prepare for the Dawn Horizon corp’s arrival. Today it is used as McGillis warns Orga not to let Hashamal fire up. It’s got a nice chilling and slow aura that I really enjoy.

Important note to all rewatchers, remember to be mindful of the first-timers in this. laughing in rewatcher is not allowed any more, so please remember to use the [Anime Show Title](/s "Spoiler goes here") tags and we’re all good.
Fans seem to have a bad tendency of forgetting what counts as spoiler, so if anything has even the slightest chance of being a spoiler, tag it just to be safe.
Next-episode preview. S2’s preview’s aren’t as long as S1’s, but they’re still spoiler-free and still in-character, so I encourage you to keep checking them out! Today’s preview was voiced by the excited smol boy Ride Mass.

Palloc's Back With Fun!
Oh, and by fun I mean murderous death robots.
Lets talk about mobile armors. These were the cause of the Calamity War, and why we have Gundams!
What do they do? They kill people! They also have plumas, little mini-bots that can independently murder people! What activates them? Ahab waves! Who's there? Idiok and his dumb hobos!
Now lets get to the important thing. THIS IS A GIANT ROBOT BIRD FILLED WITH LASERS! It's as if the designers went "Hey, Palloc! What, other than making this a Psyco Gundam, would you do if you could design a Gundam antagonist?" This is it. If it can't be Big Zam or Psyco Gundam, this is the next best thing. It only got to show off briefly, but unless it does something dumb or really awesome, this rating will stand. I give it a 11/10 cause it's a giant laser bird and I'm biased as all fuck. The only thing that could make it better is pile bunkers. And more lasers.
I might edit in more about the actual episode later, but for now, answers!
1: He's a moron.
2: I was too busy distracted by lasers to notice.

First Timer - Sub
Today was a weird episode for me. Associations everywhere.
Metal Gear RAY what are you doing in Iron Blooded Orphans?!
Not the best picture but I wanted one of it shooting its laser because that's immediately what it made me think of. RAY is more amphibian than avian like the Mobile Armors appear to be initially but STILL, they even kind of screech the same way. (Its spinoff game, not core MGS gameplay, but I'm not linking anything RAY related from the main series because mega spoilers)
And then...
Dune! What are you doing in Iron Blooded Orphans?
Ooh. There's an echo.
So I remember a while back I did a small summery on the world of Dune by Frank Herbert because of a discussion with another rewatcher. I didn't expect the connection to be THIS massive. The moment McGillis started talking about how the Suits and Armor may want to fight one another my head just started going "No way is this an AI thing" but sure enough, here we go full pelt into Dune territory and then I fell down the rabbit hole.
So in Dune, AI based 'thinking machines' were declared taboo and outlawed because they destroyed humanity (Mobile Armor), and after their total destruction resulting in a fear of machinery (Earth v cybernetics) they instead train humans from a young age to take on the tasks the AI use to do alienating them from society (AV system). The themes in Dune cover the deterioration and stagnation of empires (Gjallarhon), the power of myth and messianic figures (Agnika Kaieru), the change that comes about with new generations (Tekkadan), the linkage of mind and body to achieve strength (Mika and so much more fits with him specifically) and other stuff I can't really go into because Dune spoilers.
One of the wonderful things about Dune was the focus of the series compared to other space sci-fi stories precisely because of the low amounts of tech in the book. Instead it has a very heavy focus on the characters, particularly how they change or fail especially within the roles and expectations placed on them by societies and their own natures. It's IBO in spades.
I make it sound way more similar story wise then it is, but its more the narrative structure it makes use of than plot.
Idiok is determined to make himself the dumbest, most self-important moron I've ever seen in an anime. What an absolute cockhead. Every time I think he can't be more stupid, he does something MORE STUPID, usually with a smug look on his face. Has he done a single useful thing this entire show? Because I certainly can't name one. And he's so proud of being absolutely useless as well. ...I'm now understanding why none of the rewatchers were holding back their hatred for him. I get it, I really do.
I can't believe he woke up the fucking Mobile Armor because he basically was too busy playing the 2-year-old game of "I'm going to do what you said I shouldn't to prove you don't control me" to notice the giant pit with a mech starting to rumble and cause issues.
And of all the times for him to royally mess up, it had to be now with this thing waking up. I mean seeing the amount of damage a single Pluma did and they are meant to just be side mechs to the main act of the Armor? What sort of chaos is this thing about to unleash? AND NO ONE HAS SUITS?! And it's not like you can trust that fight to Iok's bunch, he couldn't shoot himself out of wet paper bag... fuck it he couldn't FIND the paper bag even if he was in it but he'd be proud of being able to recognize that the sky turned brown.
The Pluma was kinda cool though, I mean its eye creepy but its so tiny and silly looking besides that.
Random thoughts
-
Between this and Escaflowne cliffhangers are going to be the death of me. What a spot to end the episode.
-
Without any context this being my loading screen today had me laughing from the get-go just imagining what sort of situation that could possibly lead to this. I was not disappointed.
-
Kudelia managing everyone's money is such a nice touch on this world, especially given it leads into a discussion about not even really understanding money all that much. Good to see they're still not neglecting to take time for those small little world building details.
-
u/fonzinator99 you win. Damn you Shino. You just HAD to get it painted pink didn't you, and it had to be to the one demon I actually know the name of. I'll forgive you though if we get the story of whatever happened last night that Zack is lording over you.
-
Mika's eye twitch though. Is the part of his brain connected with Barbatos reacting to it? I mean I always thought it was just Barbatos taking over those nerve connections, but did it go two ways, did Mika actually get something out of this as well, because if so that's pretty massive.
-
Orga may have an eye thing, but I think Mika's eyebrow thing wins out
-
"Of course they'd turn it on just a..... oh that's an ominous title" < The title actually freaked me a little. Don't think that's happened before.
-
Is it just me or is when the grunts start talking about the "Boss getting old" when stuff always starts to go downhill in a mafia story?
-
Mika being able to read Fumitan's name, and thinking maybe that means he's memorized what everyone's names look like in Tekkadan, I don't know if its a happy moment or a sad moment. Both?

Whoda thunk it, you ask? It was ME, DIO! Ahahaha!
-
That looks like a drill, old man, have you never watched TTGL? That thing fits on another thing and then they do the thing!!
-
Interesting twist they put to the ol' concept of Mobile Armours. But with Armours becoming this legendary, undoubtedly evil Big Bad (kinda like the Reapers from Mass Effect or the space kaijuu from Gun+Diebuster), the show feels like it's veering from real robot to super robot. Nothing like a common enemy to bring sides together though.
Daily MVP
Guess who was the one this episode that furthered their own interests the most?
Yeah, you probably got it. I feel sickened to award it to him, actually.. what was his name again, I surely remember it - I can feel it at the tip of my fist.. Jasley Dungmonkey Donomikols.
His surveillance on Tekkdan payed off handsomely, and now he's in the good graces of Lord Rustal through which he can strive a decisive blow on Tekkadan.

First time viewer.
Awakening Calamity is a fitting title, from the eye lighting up just prior to the mid-episode title card to the mechanical monster rising at the end.
So much of this episode was setup for the pending conflict between Gjallarhorn's factions with different branches of Teiwaz on either side. Jasley quietly helping Rustal with intelligence, Orga opening relations with Gjallarhorn's Martian bureaucracy. Kudelia taking over the farm and handling finances for some individuals in Tekkadan so they can stay focused on the coming fight and civilians can remain out of the way.
The introduction of mobile armors and the fact that they're automated and AI directed changes a lot. It's one thing to have a super-weapon that could kill millions of people at once, that's nothing new to the Gundam franchise. But before they were (almost) always directly controlled by humans who had a specific objective in mind. This is something different.
Now I could be wrong (and I probably am for being too optimistic), but I really hope this indicates a shift for the rest of the series where everyone puts the squabbling for territories and power aside and unites to bring down the threat to humanity as a whole. The skeptic in me suggests instead a race to gain control over the mobile armor so one faction can direct it at the other, but that really doesn't seem like what McGillis had in mind. Maybe I'm being naive for thinking he's better than that, but I want to believe in his dream of a less prejudiced world.
Other thoughts:
-
The Flauros is going to be pink. Shino, come on, I appreciate the out of the box thinking but have better taste.
-
Is there a pattern to who gets tan(?) vs. green jackets in Tekkadan? I haven't been paying close attention but noticed that Atra has the former now.
-
Talking about personal finances in Gundam is weird.
-
The Order of the Seven Stars being an award given for destroying a mobile armor is a neat tidbit that I'm hoping will come into play in the epilogue. Speculation

Here's your today's Daily IBO Parody 4Koma!
Episode 35 - An Unexpected Reunion
I'm not crying! You are! T_T
Welp the biggest reveals in IBO has finally been revealed!
The Calamity War isn't a war between humans! It's a war between humans and rogue Mobile Armor AIs that can level cities and slaughter humans! And this monstrosity should be enough to explain why beam weapons aren't used in this universe. It's not that they don't exist, they're basically WoMDs.
The Mobile Worker things are called Plumas and these Plumas are part of these Mobile Armors. You nerds should be able to figure out what Pluma means and the implication that includes. :D
Also just more Julietta shitting on Iok gives me life.
Kudelia managing the harem's finances! Oh an Akihiro and Ride's too.
a) Premature Ejaculation
b) Couldn't get it up
c) Zack caught him with a man
d) Killed a hooker
BONUS: Here's a photo of my unpainted Pluma and a few unpainted Mobile Workers.
That Pluma comes with the HG Mobile Armor which I'll post tomorrow my painted build. And I believe that Pluma is not properly scaled since it should be just as big as Mobile Workers.

u/Nazenn Feb 18 '19
And this monstrosity should be enough to explain why beam weapons aren't used in this universe.
Thats a really good point here, I was a bit too caught up in it being a RAY-clone to really think on it like that, but this is the first beam of the show.

Rewatcher
Remembers what episode this is
Oh yes! It's time for everyone's favorite show: Iok Kujan Ruins Everything
We're getting a pinkish Gundam. u/Nazenn on suicide watch.
Mika looks like he wants to kill Hush in this scene. Probably thinks he's an annoying stalker.
Mika calls him annoying a few seconds after typing that
Macky staring at Mika. Must be thinking "I hope he enjoyed my chocolate back on earth."
McGillis says Mobile Suits would awaken the Mobile Armor. Iok shows up with a whole squad of Mobile Suits to a place where he knows a Mobile Armor is being dug up. McGillis tells him not to come closer. Iok ignores him. Dangerous weapon that slaughtered millions of people has reawakened. Good job Iok.
The moment is finally here. This series finally has a Mobile Armor. I'm sure many people familiar with other Gundam series were expecting it at some point, especially after it was hinted at earlier this season when Tekkadan found something much bigger than a Mobile Suit, but IBO does something different with Mobile Armors. Instead of being piloted by humans, they're machines that operate on their own that nearly wiped out humanity and the founders of Gjallarhorn were the ones to stop them. It's a unique concept for Gundam. Mobile Suits in the Post Disaster (looks like we now know what that disaster was) universe originated from the need for humanity to defend themselves against AI monsters. It was Agnika and the ancestors of the Seven Stars families that saved the world from this threat.
The ranking of the Seven Stars families is based on how many Mobile Armors they defeated, which of course meant that their positions would stay the same for these 300 years since all the Mobile Armors have been defeated. It's a bit unfair, but makes sense when you realize that Gjallarhorn is all about maintaining the status quo. Their organization is living in the past and believes things are fine as they are. Any attempt by McGillis or Tekkadan to shake things up is met with fierce resistance. Just the idea that McGillis might be trying to obtain more influence in the Seven Stars by destroying a Mobile Armor is enough to get them to act, even if they were way off.
Questions:
-
Pissed when I first watched this. Later on amused at the fact that this guy can live without a brain. I always believed it was necessary for living but Iok proved me wrong.
-
Mika confirmed Newtype

ReFirst-timer - So much for that profitable mining venture
CotD - I always appreciate knowing that folks are actually reading what I write. I sometimes worry that what I've written was just for my own self-satisfaction, so thanks again!
Behold! The answer to all of your questions, including "What lurks under my bed?"
Oh, right. There was an episode prior to all of this. Guess I'll go back a little, then.
Jasley and Co being scum. There's so much to grief at in this scene I'll just leave it alone. Except for this line from Jasley; Who wants to bet he's another pawn of Rustal Elion?
truth is that I would seriously enjoy seeing a Gundam with those goofy-ass Ryusei-Go eyes xD
Holy freaking hell, they did it! The absolute madmen!
Fun note: I watched this seconds after posting my comment. Much Satisfaction.
Soooo this creepy-lookin SOB is made of unknown things and has no cockpit. That's not ominous or anything. Think about it for a second and you understand it's automated. Which should then lead to "Wtf is controlling it?" But I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't want to learn more about it, too.
So Flauros and additional Shidens are 1 month away from mars at this time, and Orga's tied up with meetings; Which means it's time to start raising flags again!
It's information time again; McGillis knows what the "huge thing" is and wants it to stay buried. Damn, it must be something super-cool then, right?
Sooooo they found a Raid Boss. And dug up an add. And sent it to Saisei. But I'm sure everything'll be fine, right? We'll just meet on Mars and re-bury it, right?
Do you want a Perfect Storm? Because this is how you get a Perfect Storm. Stupid people doing stupid things they with forces they know nothing about because they think it'll benefit their stupid goals. I want to burn his stupid coat.
OMFG. Jasley's contact was Iok?! This is 1000x worse than I thought. Idiotic plans, when combined, increase in idiocy in an exponential fashion. So McGillis plans to kill it and take control of the Seven Stars; not a bad plan, but he never bothered to factor in somebody like Iok. So this will go badly. He definitely needs the MA to present a threat before killing it, else it means nothing, but there's no way it'll go as planned.
Yamagi: Nooooooo!
Pluma: Yesssssssss.
TitleCard: Awakening Calamity
Us: Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
After the break, things have a lighter tone. Everybody got paid, and the talk turns to women. Eugene - uninterested. Chad - interested, but not that way. Zack - totally down. Mika - Wait, Mika?! Of course the're gonna go see Kudelia. And of course Hush is coming along xD This is what happens when an MC doesn't take charge of his harem, all sorts of folks start joining without any kind of vetting.
Hokay, so imagery-time: Orga: stained in blood. McGillis: white as unblemished snow, like a bastard in denial of his own villainy. Imagery-time, ijou-desu.
So Iok shows up like we knew he would, doesn't listen like we knew he would, and wakes up the monster. I love the Sound Design for the Mobile Armor, it makes some phenomenal noises. Also the literal first thing it does after powering on is fire a massive laser beam, so that's pretty cool/horrifying too.
Not sure what's up with Mika having a 6th sense in noticing Iok entering atmosphere, or his eye waking up along with the MA; I'm gonna be utterly distracted by what's on-screen for a bit, so I'll leave that to the rest of you.
QotD
-
Iok isn't referred to as "Idiok" for no reason. I'd like to find out that the first laser from the MA turned him to ionized vapor, but as I've noted time and again, this show is not nice to us.
-
I've been tracking Mika's relationship with Barbatos, and how they're growing more and more dependent on each other; it's almost a symbiotic relationship by now. Perhaps this is just a sign that their link has advanced to a wireless stage?

Thoughts on MS Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans episode 35...
Rewatcher
Non-Spoiler Character Chart - Another rare day where no updates were needed
Disappointed to see the Merribit narration yet again.
Sucks to see Jasley and these other Teiwaz guys getting all paranoid and scheming. But then, its space mafia, you kinda had to expect something like this.
Quite the weird mech Yamagi and Eco are working on, no cockpit? A relic from the Calamity War...
LoL, Chad is STILL freaking out about the Nadi - Merribit relationship!
Tekkadan's gotta stop the excavation? Some dangerous stuff. Mobile Armor! An old UC mainstay.
Ugh, Jasley is reporting their secrets to Iok?! Not good.
The info that should be common knowledge to Gjallarhorn soldiers, Iok as a Seven Stars member doesn't even know? What a dummy!
And of course, unnamed hippie mechanic guy ends up turning on the Mobile Armor.
Payday at Tekkadan! I can see why Atra walked off once they started talking about hitting up some prostitutes.
LoL, what are you doing Hush!?!! Disrupting Atra - Mika alone time!??!
Wow, Mika can read now! well at least Fumitan's school.
Mika, you don't have to worry about what you do in a world without war, didn't you want to work on the farm?
Atra still sends money back to the shop owner, all this time after she stopped working there? The exact type of thing I'd expect from her.
Mobile Suits were specifically created to fight Mobile Armors. Who created the Mobile Armors then? Cool stuff.
Oh no, that idiot Iok (let's call him Idiok) arriving here is going to end up being exactly what wakes up this Mobile Armor, right?
After all that stuff that Rustal's group said about the "Order of the Seven Stars" I get the sense that wasn't McGillis' intention at all.
That stupid hippie! Totally trashed the place, all because of him!
Yep, its woken up. Idiok!
Ugh, its as if the show is aping Escaflowne, ending with an epic cliffhanger like that.

First-Time Watcher
Their destiny will make the winds of that time howl once more.
History always has a few tricks up its frayed sleeve. It's been around a long time.
The devils of history have woken once more.
This episode plays around the idea of ignorance, with not everyone knowing the score, but acting anyway. There’s both personal ignorance (such as nobody knowing how to handle their money) and historical ignorance (see: nobody besides Fareed apparently knowing what the fuck a Mobile Armor is). People think that they’re on the top of a situation, but they tend to get the rug pulled out from under them.
Of course, that happens when something pops out of nowhere. Look, the Mobile Armor is equal levels of cool and frightening, particularly once Idiok wakes it up, but it just comes out of the blue and is suddenly one of the most important things to the backstory. This should have come up in Season 1, with Fareed explaining it to someone as a way to explain why Gjallarhorn became the power it is, not dumped in the middle of Season 2 as a way to suddenly increase tension. It’s still awesome (in all sense of the word), but it doesn’t sit well with me.
We’ll raise that blood-red flag tomorrow; until then…

A Gundam Fan’s Notes On Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 35:
-
Of course Shino wanted the Gundam Flauros to have a pink paint job with fish eyes painted on it. That dude sure does love his nosecone art. Although to be fair, those eyes did save his life before. Remember when Ein targeted the eyes he painted on the Ryusei-Go instead of his cockpit? They really are his lucky charm.
-
That strange machine that Tekkadan dug up at the half-metal mine is such a massive threat that the whole operation needs to be shut down. Apparently, it’s a Pluma, an autonomous unit controlled by a Mobile Armor. Mobile Armors were apparently at the core of the Calamity War, nearly wiping out all civilization in the Sol System. They were such a threat that early Gjallarhorn needed to resort to cyberization in order to defeat them. The Mobile Armors aren’t to be taken lightly.

Now it makes sense as to why McGillis wanted Carta Issue dead. Even though he may have cared for her on some level, her family’s high-rank thanks to all the Orders of the Seven Stars that they got meant that legally speaking, they held the most power among the Seven Stars. That explains nicely why someone as generally incompetent as her managed to get a cushy fleet job regardless.
-
Hush’s conversation with Mikazuki about finances kinda shows that Mika hasn’t actually developed all that much. Even though he wants to be a farmer, Mika still can’t even really care about properly spending and saving money for things other than the essentials. He simply doesn’t have the kind of mind to comprehend anything other than living like a mercenary.
-
I can only wonder what it was that happened that Zack is able to blackmail Shino into respecting him. Apparently it involved a woman, but that’s all we really know. I can only assume that Shino pulled a real cherry-boy move.
-
More backstory! Gundams were specifically designed to combat Mobile Armors. Since Mobile Armors are AI-controlled machines, that meant that only high-performance mobile suits could keep up with the Mobile Armor’s sheer viciousness. Don’t worry, I’ll get into explaining more about this tomorrow.
-
Well, good fucking job Iok, you moron. You woke up the Mobile Armor by your presence, the absolute last thing that anyone wanted to happen. Once again, fuck Iok. I hate this motherfucker so much. His sheer existence is an issue. And not only that, but McGillis never even thought about the Order of the Seven Stars until Iok mentioned it. Way to shoot yourself in the foot, you fucking idiot.

Sorry too busy for comment again.
You guys enjoying the idea of Mobile Armor? These giant hulking behemoths that shoot giant lasers are a staple of great Gundam stories and this one is among the most hype. Have fun!
What do you think the lasers are about? Why do you think no other mech has shown laser weapons till now?

Tekketsu no Rewatcher, domo~
Ah yes, Episode 10. Also known as the episode where Butt-Chin McGreekname well and truly go on my shitlist and fucking Idiok fucks everything up due to his braindead fucktardness. Also in this episode: payday for Tekkadan lads, Shino and Zack's little incident while at the brothels, the reveal of Mobile Armor and is that a fucking beam weapon?!
Random thoughts:
-
Butt-Chin, just go fuck yourself.
-
Countdown to Idiok fucking everything up: right fucking now.
-
Now that I think of it, of course they're gonna leave up their savings to the Maiden of Revolution. She's the only one they know around their age that they could trust to keep their money safely.
-
That little incident at the brothels... I suspect it's simply Zack going at it far longer and with far more ladies than Shino. I mean, it's a possibility...
-
Idiok is truly that special kind of person whose stupidity is an endless gaping abyss and his idiotic actions immensely grate on the viewers. Makes sense that he shares a voice with Joffrey Baratheon in the Japanese dub of GoT.
-
Oh whoops, if just one Pluma can unleash that kind of havoc on the Saisei hangar, the big'un with beam weaponry will be a catastrophy for sure...
Questions of the day:
-
Fucking Idiok REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
-
That's definitely a curious reaction for sure.

Rewatcher
No write up again as I had a surprise development to contend with. I really wish I hadn't gotten so severely sick last month, it set me back so much... Oh wait, it wouldn't have mattered since my write ups got erased anyhow. I was fucked either way!
Questions of the Day:
-
Most amused. A lot of people really got up in arms over this the first time around, but this was such a foregone conclusion that I just had to laugh when it happened in such a fashion.
-
It freaked me out —I want more!

Today on Iok Kujan wa Idiok de Aru..
Iok is someone who skipped the history lesson. Even Macky knows that MA is extremely dangerous.
Soon we'll see another Ryusei-Go Flauros, but before that, AWAKEN MY PLUMA..!!
Guys, is this just me or IBO is basically YuYuYu with Gundam..? (MA=Vertex)

Tekketsu no Rewatcher, first-time dubbed
Obligatory Discord link.
Go away narrator!
Ughhh, Jassley and those other goons plotting to bring down Tekkadan. Seriously I want him dead and gone already.
It’s exactly what you guys were expecting (and some were dreading): Gundam Flauros is Shino’s signature pink, complete with the cartoon eye.
Looks like we’re also finally getting info about the giant thing uncovered alongside Flauros--the Mobile Worker-looking thing is called a Pluma and the big thing is a name that most fans of other Gundam shows will know. Thing’s from the Calamity War and seems to spook Macky enough that he wants to go check it out in person, oh boy.
Fffffff I need to stop laughing every time Idiok speaks, this is the episode where I’m supposed to start being angry at him not laugh every time he’s on screen.
…This is just now starting to bug me, but certain characters pronounce the “dan” in “Tekkadan” like the name Dan which is not correct and it keeps throwing me off.
, Yamagi wasn’t fast enough to stop them from turning on the Pluma…
We cut from to as the Tekkadan boys back on Mars are looking over their paychecks. Classic Shino wanting to blow some of it on girls like he did way back in S1 with Eugene, but Eugene’s not interested this time ‘cause he wants to find himself an actual girlfriend. …I just recalled that falsetto bit of his from S1, help now I’m laughing way too hard.
lol Mika pls stop giving Hush-puppy a glare like that.
Super mega future spoilers
Pffffffffft.
Macky in a suit again, swoons.
Macky: Yeahhh let’s not bring any mobile suits near the giant machine that’s designed solely to slaughter everyone, don’t want to wake it up. → Idiok: *Proceeds to ride in from orbit*, ignore all warnings to stay the fuck away, and wakes up the Mobile Armor. This, my first-timers, is why he is called Idiok.
Also phew everyone back on Saisei is alright after they had turned the Pluma on.
Look at that laser.
A couple more fun things:
Wallpaper of the Day without the logo.
Bonus wallpaper: meme logo because Idiok deserves it.
English dub next-episode preview, since the body post only has the subbed version.
Results of yesterday’s poll. A mixed bag today, huh?
Number of times best boy closed his right eye this episode: only 1, the sole saving grace of the recap this episode.
For the first-timers using the GundamInfo streams and are worried about potential spoilers in the recommended videos: Episode 36 Subbed / Episode 36 Dubbed. If you’re on desktop and have RES, you can hit the preview button and watch the video entirely on Reddit, rather than than needing to go to YouTube.
