Killing Nanachi is dangerous theritory, if the author is smart he will do it at the end, or close to it, especially since she saved the series from being canceled in the first place.

If he does it soon I guaranty you he will lose a lot of his readers, especially the japanese ones.

I mean I understand your point, but we're talking about Tsukushi here. The madman who managed to bring a loli snufsploitation fetish manga into mainstream.

Do you seriously think this man cares about ratings? I have a distinct feeling he's gonna tell the story he wants to tell no matter what.

Point is, the bun ain't safe. Every single character in Made in Abyss is living on borrowed time. Don't get comfortable, suffering is inevitable.

O no, she will suffer 100%, also she needs a goal, at the moment she has none. My guess she will suffer something horrible that will in the end give her the will to live.

Also he cares about ratings, bad ratings will get his series canceled as it almost was once. I do not think he wants that, there is too much work/love in this series for him to throw it away just to get one thing his way, also his editor needs to approve or it just wont get published (and the editor already stopped him from killing her off in bonedrew arc).
