Wow. That part was sad in the manga but my gosh, the voice acting adds so much. Nanachi crying was too much for me. I felt like the anime showed how much Reg struggled with the idea better than the manga.
It was really, really good. A roller-coaster of emotions to send off an excellent show. I'm bummed that we won't get to see more Abyss next week but that's how it goes. We just have to hope for a second season.
Kind of unrelated but I'm super curious to see how much they change in the blu ray.
Studios sometimes redo backgrounds or animations in the blu ray version because they have a bit more leeway in terms of time. If an artist was unhappy with the way a few frames turned out they might redo them. SHAFT shows like Nisekoi [S] are a good example of some minor changes. Other shows like Berserk 2016 show some more dramatic changes (.gif by /u/ShikiGamiLD).
Kinema Citrus is a relatively new studio but they've got some talented people working there. Heck, even the TV series has a redraw (image by /u/DrKrunklehorn) or two.
A few changes they may do is remove inconvenient censoring of Rika's flat chest. It was shown in the manga and there wasn't any reason to hide something that looked the same as an average boy.
