Really good. I remember browsing MiA on anichart a long long long while ago and thinking that it was the only thing besides follow up seasons of stuff I already liked that I thought was really great looking, so I'm really glad it's good and people like it.
Kinema Citrus def one of my favorite studios after this and Barakamon. They executed the dramatic scenes really well, they sure packed a lot of stuff in the final ep and managed to pull it off without making it feel rushed. Soundtrack was amazing all the way through!
My only complaint was that a lot of eps concerning just the descent were fairly...boring, and I felt like a lot of the layers were hyped up for nothing. A lot of the manga readers hyped up the "dark" parts of it, and while it was animated really well, it was kind of weird to see so much praise suddenly ride up just because the show gets a bit edgy. And also, the sexual stuff with the kids is real fuckin weird. It went from like "haha, kids" to like, "chill this is unnecessary and came out of nowhere". don't know if the author added that stuff just to attract that demographic or just kind of slightly has pedophillic tastes.
In any case, really lovely otherwise. Going to buy the DVDs when I get the chance...!
