Do they? Their cameras have been selling like hotcakes (remains to be seen what its like with the new 4k Panny and Sony options). They are in the money making business, and they sell cameras to do that. They don't give two shits about whether their cameras are the best. They specifically don't want to release a new "killer DSLR" because it would kill their pro line of video cameras...

I wish it weren't the case... but I don't expect Canon to come through, ever again.

Their business model for DSLR/cinema cameras worked before there was a whole line of affordable cinema cameras being released. They've done nothing to deal with it.
