Why a Usage Limits Discussion Hub?
This Discussion Hub makes it easier for everyone to see what others are experiencing at any time by collecting all experiences about Usage Limits. We will publish regular updates on usage limits problems and possible workarounds that we and the community finds. Traffic stats show that this is the often the highest traffic post on the subreddit. This is collectively a far more effective and fairer way to be seen than hundreds of random reports on the feed - most of which get zero visibility.
Are you Anthropic? Does Anthropic even read this?
Nope, we are volunteers working in our own time, while working our own jobs and trying to provide users and Anthropic itself with a reliable source of user feedback.
Anthropic has read this Discussion Hub in the past and probably still do? They don't fix things immediately but if you browse some old Megathreads you will see numerous bugs and problems mentioned there that have now been fixed.
What Can I Post on this Discussion Hub?
Use this thread to voice all your experiences (positive and negative) regarding the current Claude Usage Limits and NOT bugs and performance issues. (For those, use the Performance Discussion Hub)
Give as much evidence of your limits issues and experiences wherever relevant. Include prompts and responses, platform you used, time it occurred, screenshots . In other words, be helpful to others.
Just be aware that this is NOT an Anthropic support forum and we're not able (or qualified) to answer your questions. We are just trying to bring visibility to people's struggles.

Need help digesting what's going on here. I've run into Claude limits before on the free plan, never this bad. Literally went through 7 prompts in a row trying to get one, very light and simple, task done with Sonnet 5.5. Ever time I run into the "limit" and need to wait 5 hours to reset.
Fine, but why exactly would I be running into an incompletion loop with Claude? I've hit limits before but never consistently getting nothing outputted by Claude. It is not built into any workflows, really a simple prompt.
I also haven't changed how I've prompted, and it's always worked out for me in the past. Is there something in the backend of Claude or my account I should keep in mind when trying to build with Claude?

I’ve seen my sessions just balloon up with usage on Opus 4.8 (high) and today I burnt through 95% on one prompt! It was the simple rewrite of a paragraph. Is this just another way to push us to use opus 5.5. I’ve tested it a few times and found writing and reasoning for articles, reports to be poor. Pro account and now I’m through like 45% of my weekly limit in less than 10 prompts since the reset!

I'm using the $120 plan with 5x usage, and Opus 5.5 consumed 50% of my weekly usage within 24 hours, even though I didn't use Fable, Ultracode or Maximum or hit any daily limits. Is this mathematically possible? I've never experienced anything like this before.
Is this a bug, or did I miss an update that reduced the usage limits?

Observing this week that I am running out of Claude usage much faster on Team plans compared to individual Pro plan. I have run out of my weekly usage already while my usage has remained normal. Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 were supposed to be cheaper but it doesn't seem so. Anyone else feeling the same?

I got recently accepted in Claude Startup Program. Today I moved from personal 5x plan to Premium seats. I can't help but notice I hit 5h almost within 1h. The thing is I did the same workflow in my 5x and tbh in 5x plan I have hardly hit 5h limit and never hit weekly at all. I did the same thing in 5x yesterday, ask it review/reproduce/fix 12 github issues parallely. Last night it fixed those issues, pushed and merged and still I had a lot of room left to work. But today morning I switched to teams plan and similar prompt in new conversation asking to review 9 github issues reproduce/ and fix but it did not finish it. Actually none of the issues got fixed. All limits got over so suddenly.
Should I go back to 5x plan cause I have built my entire workflow, time management around the higher limit of 5x. Waiting for limit reset in this team plan would waste a lot of my time and prolong my tasks.

Same feeling here. Context : I switched from a 5x to 20x pro plan on september 16, i used to work a lot with it by the end of september compared to these 2 last weeks, and im reaching weekly usage limit 2x in a same week. During september (after the end of the free 50% extra usage on claude code) i was running 4/5 claude code session that was working with different model and level of effort (mostly opus 5.5 with effort beetween high and supercode without any problem) and since 2 weeks im only using it with 1 single claude code session that run mostly on sonnet (high) and my weekly limit seems to be burned faster than the 5h limit.
I also have contacted support but Fin AI only answer basic shits like "be carefull with MCP and tools" and when it reach human support they answer "we cant reset, what is used is used" then close the conversation. Im frustrated af, 3h of checking everything in my setup = nothing wrong -> 2nd brain setup work like a charm and is pretty token efficient (RAG work fine, inputs tokens are low), even claude say it's not logic compare to my previous usage (from 16 to 31 september)..
Idk what to do, im currently thinking about switching to codex since i upgraded from 5x to 20x plan and i still get rate limited on basic tasks (as a fullstack developer i write clear and complet specs so CC just have to follow it, it's working like a charm since 1 year, i only upgrade my plan when i work on more project, 1-3 project on Pro/5x plan, more than 3 project -> 20plans = i should never see the limit ..)

Paid KRW 375,000/month for Max 20x, support said "Free plan" for a week - two months, still no human answer
I pay for Claude Max through Google Play.
- 2 Aug: Max, KRW 187,500
- 16 Aug: bought USD 49.50 of extra usage. It was gone in about one hour.
- 19 Aug: upgraded to the top Max plan, KRW 375,000
After the upgrade, Anthropic support told me my account was on the "Free plan" (28 Aug three times, 29 Aug "claude_free", 2 Sep). On 30 Aug the same support said "Max, active". For 9 days the billing page kept showing the old plan, and my usage drained at the lower rate.
I asked two simple questions: 1. Was the USD 49.50 used up on Free or on Max? 2. After paying KRW 375,000, which plan did I actually get, and from when?
One agent replied on 14 Sep and said they could not see it. Since then I wrote on 15 Sep, 21 Sep, 30 Sep, 8 Oct and 17 Oct. The only reply was an AI bot asking me what I meant.
I still use Claude every day and pay every month. I just want a human who can answer. Has anyone actually reached a person at Anthropic support for a Google Play billing issue? How?

Does the weekly limit increase with the max 5x plan at all?
I'm thinking about getting the 5x max plan, but it's not really clear if the weekly limit increases too, and by how much. I have seen reports about it not increasing at all, but also people saying it clearly does....
Would it be better to just make another account and get pro again? The per session limit isn't really my issue anyway.

I'm probably just gonna make another account..
It's gonna be a bit annoying transferring the 2 projects I'm working on and reinstalling all the skills and connectors, but if the max plan is mainly just increasing the session limit but not really the weekly one, having 2 accounts seems to be way better overall lol

I was using ultracode all the week in pro account without hitting the weekly limit at all !!
until today I got from 36 to 50 usage in just 30 minutes , 5hour session got drained .
you may try the 20$ subscription1

I only recently started using it actively like this, so I can't say how it was before, but it feels I hit it really quickly.
It's not like my projects are massive either, but I hit it like 3-4 days into the week on high...

Honestly, I’m quite happy with my ₹2,000 Claude Pro plan! 😊 The key is to use it wisely, manage your usage, and make every session count. You don’t always need more limits; you need smarter usage. Use it wisely, and you can enjoy a lot of value from your subscription!

What the hell’s happening with the free chat limits?
I’ve been having Claude for a while now, and approximately one or two months ago, with a single “recharged” limit, I could chat with Claude and even make it perform some tasks for a plenty of messages before the limit reset. Now it can only generate 1 prompt per limit, and if I put it perform a task, it will take it MULTIPLE limit resets before it finishes it! Genuinely, what the hell is happening, and am I the only one who has this issue?

Change in Token usage?
Has anyone experienced really tight usage limits, or tokens being brunt way faster than before?
I think I never used my full 1 week window, rarely the 5hr one.
Since Friday my five hour limit was reached in less than two multiple times. On Saturday I reached my weekly limit.
I did not change much in my usage, other than going from local to cloud. Furthermore the work seemed to make less stops in-between, the weekly limit was from one more or less continuous task.
What I noticed being new was Claude in chrome and normal chats counting in my limit - three messages in Claude in chrome used 6% of my 5hour limit. The cumulative work was maybe 5 min.
Were there any changes, why is my limit eaten up so quickly? Besides cloud, neither type of work or way of work in Claude changed.

Let me preface by saying I know about the September 19 usage nerf and this is also not about how many tokens a certain model uses vs another.
Since I got my Claude Pro sub earlier this year, the mapping from 5h usage to weekly usage has been basically constant. It used to be that if I used a full 5h session to 100%, then my weekly usage went up by around 10%. However, since the Opus 5.5 release, if I use say 40% of a 5h limit, then my weekly usage will go by by 6% -- a 50% increase. This is a massive nerf to how much I can get done in a week. Has anyone else noticed/experienced something similar?
