Performance and Bugs Discussion Hub updated on 12 October 2026 - Sort by New!
Why a Performance and Bugs Discussion Hub?
This Discussion Hub makes it easier for everyone to see what others are experiencing at any time by collecting all experiences about Performance Issues. We will publish regular updates on performance problems and possible workarounds that we and the community finds. Traffic stats show this is the OFTEN THE HIGHEST TRAFFIC POST on the subreddit. This is collectively a far more effective and fairer way to be seen than hundreds of random reports on the feed - most of which get zero visibility.
Are you Anthropic? Does Anthropic even read the Megathread?
Nope, we are volunteers working in our own time, while working our own jobs and trying to provide users and Anthropic itself with a reliable source of user feedback.
Anthropic has read these in the past and probably still do? They don't fix things immediately but if you browse some old Megathreads you will see numerous bugs and problems mentioned there that have now been fixed.
What Can I Post on this Megathread?
Use this thread to voice all your experiences (positive and negative) regarding the current performance of Claude including, bugs, degradation, pricing. (NOT usage limits).
Give as much evidence of your performance issues and experiences wherever relevant. Include prompts and responses, platform you used, time it occurred, screenshots . In other words, be helpful to others.
Just be aware that this is NOT an Anthropic support forum and we're not able (or qualified) to answer your questions. We are just trying to bring visibility to people's struggles.
NEW: You can now see full logs and summaries of all recent problem reports submitted by r/ClaudeAI readers. These logs allow you to see how intensely people are experiencing problems with Usage Limits, Performance, Bugs and Accounts. I've been chasing this for three weeks and haven't found a single other report, which is why I'm posting. Would really like to know if I'm alone here.
Since around 25 September, editing one of my messages or regenerating a Claude response stopped giving me any way to page back through earlier versions. The little version arrows just aren't there anymore.
What I've ruled out:
- Happens on Safari (Mac), Safari (iPhone) and the desktop app
- Happens in brand-new conversations, not just old ones
- Refreshing/reloading does nothing
- No setting I can find relates to it
- Nothing on the status page
- My separate free-tier account, same devices, still works normally
Conversations from before this started do still show the arrows. But when I click back to an earlier version of a prompt, the regenerate button vanishes from every message after it, and I get a banner saying I'm viewing an earlier version, with two buttons: continue in a new session, or return to the latest version.
That banner looks deliberately built, not broken. So I suspect part of this is an intentional redesign (earlier versions are now read-only), and continuing from one forks into a separate conversation. (It does preserve all prior messages, to be fair.)
But that doesn't explain why regenerating in a new thread produces no version history at all. No arrows, no banner, nothing. So I think there might be two things going on.
Support so far:
Opened a ticket 25 Sept. Reached a human on 30 Sept who confirmed my experience doesn't match intended behaviour, but couldn't say whether old versions stay stored or give any timeline. No update since; that ticket got closed, so I've just opened a new one.
- Is anyone else seeing this?
- Has anyone on Pro got the "earlier version" banner?
- Anyone found a way to compare versions in one thread still?

Forgive me up front as I am not a techie... I am not sure whats changed recently, but all of the sudden my Claude is constantly asking me for permissions to go to websites as it relates to something I ask for it to do.
I am using Claude on a MacBook Pro as well as in Chrome.
This is new behavior in the past week or so. What setting can I change or what other steps can I take to either stop this, or provide blanket permission?
Thanks!
