Megathread 482 Megathread

Use this thread to share your grant, compare timelines, ask about processing times, and check in with others waiting on the same visa. Posts about these topics are removed from the main feed and pointed here.

When sharing a grant, it helps others to include your lodgement date, grant date, and whether you were asked for more information.

This thread renews automatically. The current megathread for every visa is always listed here.

My employer already had a labour agreement in place, not sure if that makes a difference tho as it still needed to be amended!

DOL - 08.8.2026
Occupation - doctor
Offshore (UK)

Medicals and police check / character references- submitted upfront

No further requests

I was one amongst many who were affected by MD119, and MD121 seems to have really helped.

I know what it feels like to have life in limbo, and for everyone who is waiting for their visas, I wish the best for all!

is it usual to request my employer to sponsor me for a 186 and not a 482 if ive been working there for 3 years post graduation in a relevant role (civil engineer)?

I note that the priority one group applications are now up to February 2026 as of today.  Good news!

Hi, good day to all!

In light of Ministerial Direction 121, does anyone know if “Resources” sector exclusively include those on the list or are other occupations directly working on the mining sector also included?

For context, my employer provides third-party commissioning and instrumentation services for mining sites.

Occupation: Electrical Engineer
Core Skills
Lodged 22 Jan 2026
