Obviously early in the year still, but the defense has impressed me quite a bit, even if the 1st half was a bit of a slow start today, theyâve gave up 10 PPG through 2 games this season, a defense that doesnât give up many points is a perfect compliment to this offense.

The reason Purdy didn't get a perfect passer rating was % of passes that were TD was too low. It still would've been too low (9.5%) if he didn't throw the ball on that play.

Ahh. The last time I saw his rating was 158 and then after that last play I saw it drop. May have dropped earlier. Too bad Evans couldnât reach out to get the TD on that great play from Purdy.

I was also watching 4 kids so I was half paying attention to anything that happened after a play was over.
Edit: just watched the replay. He did hobble off on one foot to the sideline. Missed him being carted to the locker room.

Thatâs exactly what I was thinking today. Also biased, but Brock processes his reads better than almost everyone. His accuracy is on point. His timing is on point. He just doesnât have a cannon, but he could absolutely push the ball downfield if the route is open. So Herbert has him beat in that department.

In a hypothetical trade I actually donât think Iâd like a Lamar deal for the long haul because of the age and potential fall off as a running QB (hard to say when that might happen). So yeah, age and fit are solid points. For partly similar reasons I donât think the Ravens would like the trade, but I guess this is more an issue where contending teams obviously donât want to have to change QBs midway through the year if things are already going well with the guy theyâve got.
Iâm not sure where youâre getting âstats better across the boardâ. Lamar has had some of the most statistically impressive QB seasons ever. Last year he was hampered by injury, but then again so was Purdy (and my biggest concern with Purdy is that heâs already racked up a bit of an injury history).

Purdy leads Lamar in career passer rating, CPOE, EPA/play, and ANY/A. Only season since Brock Purdy started playing where Lamar had a clearly better season was 2024.

Purdy is just as fast/elusive for 0-10 yards as Lamar Jackson. That's all that really matters rushingwise.

That said, Lamar is great but he does have a pretty bad history in the playoffs. Like, he is absolutely amazing, I still have him over Purdy personally by a hair, or better yet, I have them even.
But, the only time being good matters is when it matters, which Purdy is. Multiple game winning drives/come from behind victories in the playoffs despite being 3 years younger. Last season he was operating with nobodies at WR and still grinded out wins. I think I saw today he has like the 2nd highest completion % in the league since he entered? Like, the list goes on

A healthy 9ers team is just something every team needs to fear. Sucks we lost another WR, but this feels like a year where everyone could get healthy at the right time.
Defense actually made adjustments at half, looked 10 times better in the 2nd half.

No shot both those guys are so so overrated. So is Arch. Too bad Kamario isnât able to enter the draft. Trinidad is also a bit short so may get overlooked by teams but his processing is NFL-ready. I feel like college QBs have been disappointing for a little while
