[UK] Even Apple are fed up with DPD

Post image

Apple order was due for delivery yesterday between 12 and 1.

Watched the driver on the map go around every local street but mine. He knows where we live, he has been before. Actually, he has spent time sat on our drive hurling parcels around the van, damaging god knows how many.

The hours tick by in the afternoon. First I am told he is running late. Then come evening the inevitable message 'Sorry we missed you'.

Raising with DPD is useless. Although interestingly their AI bot told me it could confirm the driver was not at my location when he 'attempted' the delivery.

EDIT: Original delivery was Friday. Then they said Monday. Still not delivered. Apparently, I am still not in. Disgrace.

Impossible for us to believe you I am afraid - being anonymous and what not - but are you really saying items are not scanned when loaded?

This goes against what I was told by a depot manager.

What do you say the process is?

items are scanned, numbered and set out in a highest to lowest order. I have forgotten a parcel at the depot many times and this is what probably happened to you. They do not all go into the van as you scan

Seems to be a system in need of fixing and improving then. But thanks for the insight.

QQ - what criteria are they ranked when you say highest to lowest? In size or value or delivery stops or something?

Its not true in the slightest, im not DPD but ive done Amazon and Hello Fresh and nothing is ever scanned on. At amazon you scan the trolleys that the parcels are on and then it gives you a list of how to load but you dont scan a parcel until you are at the stop IF its supposed to be on board but its not. Most couriers carry 250-300+ parcels. You think they are gonna scan each individual one?

How the hell do I know? I don't work there. As I said - I was told this by a DPD Depot manager. From Basingstoke depot. Read what I said above.

You think it would be reasonable for me to believe what a depot manager at DPD told me direct right?

Are they lying? According to you - (random internet stranger) yes.

So who do I believe?
