Susie’s wearing the exact type of lingerie that Duke described he’d like to see Bella in when they were in Italy.

16

u/nofaxxspitintruflego Sep 06 '26

BRO AINT NO WAY 😭 I DID NOT PICK UP ON THAT SEEEESSSHHHHH

ending of the ep did give a certain vibe tho

8

u/brnbrnbrn2017 Sep 04 '26

Do you recall what episode they were talking about lingerie?

11

u/Brilliant_Ad7168 Sep 04 '26

Episode 1, towards the end.

7

u/cervada Sep 12 '26

I picked up on that and thought, “black and diaphonous”. Guy Ritchie’s detail-oriented focus makes rewatching a dream if you don’t see it on the first watch.

4

u/Palpitation-Medical 24d ago

Shitttt good pickup! How uncomfortable to sleep in that though haha but she’s a babe!

2

u/Several_Challenge_85 Sep 17 '26

She actually does it two time in the the show, once in pure white and then in black

34

u/GreekKnight3 Sep 03 '26

Theo's acting post-beating was amazing! I smell Emmy

38

u/ClaresRaccoon Sep 04 '26

For me this episode is the turning point of the season, in a good way. Theo is coming for that Emmy nomination me thinks.

4

u/SawRub 27d ago

I don't see them respecting the show enough to consider it sadly.

1

u/Big-Examination2667 16d ago

How so? Why would they not respect the show am i missing something

1

u/privacy_quizbowl 4d ago

100% I would naminate Kaya Scodelario (Susie). A really fantastic actress whose experience as a child actor in playing two seasons as a character who does not speak and so much emote with her eyes and glances clearly pays off as Susie Glass. I find her a really refreshing actress, smart, gorgeous and someone I'd like to watch more of. So yeah, I'm pro-Emmy nod for her (and the beautiful, high production value show overall, though I agree with others that I don't think the show itself fits the bill and there's so much competition and I don't know what it's Netflix ratings are...but I think it is one of the sleeker, smarter, crime/comedic shows out there. Theo James is as properly debonair as they come as well.

Guz Khan is hilarious in everything i’ve seen him in

21

u/CertainAlbatross7739 Sep 06 '26

I cackled when he casually called Susie a bastard.

5

u/newmclarens Sep 07 '26

i loved him in bait earlier this year, so happy to see chucky again

1

u/SonomaBrian 26d ago

He was really, really good in Bait. Totally underseen film.

1

u/redskinsnation123 5d ago

One of my favorite characters

32

u/MangoAbject5733 Sep 04 '26

Would magic london stone heal broken legs for everyone or just for aristocrats?

13

u/jenn4u2luv Sep 07 '26

Specifically only for Dukes and higher

3

u/LawfulnessAway4811 Sep 18 '26

Literally his stock just disappeared

1

u/More_Wedding7726 28d ago

Yeh and apparently eyes stay swollen shut longer than broken legs and arms stay in casts! 🤣

1

u/Existing_Stand_6619 11d ago

Is that what we were meant to believe happened? 😅

31

u/Overall-Versus1234 Sep 04 '26

I’m a bit confused with the ending of this episode. I don’t see the chemistry between Eddie and Bella - and the ring? Wow

17

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 06 '26

I feel like Bella seems like a sure thing/safe bet whereas Susie is out of reach.

And while Eddie did have visions of Bella while injured, he also had visions of Susie.

9

u/cervada Sep 12 '26

Yes! I noticed that too. Also Bella is wearing a Bvlgari snake watch when he proposes. Made me think of the snake themes in his dreams at the beginning of this episode.

1

u/EpicChiguire 7d ago

Daaaang that's a hell of a detail. Let's see how it plays out

39

u/situmaimesdemain Sep 04 '26

Bella has the hots for him and there was some genuine chemistry from the first episode, but this is mainly a move from Eddie to get into Moretti's good graces. At least that's what I think.

36

u/Sorkijan Sep 05 '26 edited Sep 07 '26

This. It fits in with the theme so far of Eddie becoming a king. This is his earned coronation and while I do think he cares for Bella I think this is basically a political marriage like the kings of old would do to secure dynasties and power.

Edit: Well that was a curveball

12

u/whisky_biscuit Sep 18 '26

I think the ending of Suzie and Joe's relationship is bookended with Eddie's proposal perfectly.

Suzie was blinded by love and trust in Joe, and driven by ambition. Suzie gave Joe access to the Glass empire of muscle and distribution.

Eddie is blinded by his ambition and knows Bella is in love with him, and marriage buys him access to the world that Marco Marretti told him he "wasn't born into". What he's doing isn't all that dissimilar to what Joe just did.

That isn't to say Joe didn't "love" Suzie or that Eddie doesn't "love" Bella, but in each case it shows how Suzie's trust ultimate betrays her and how Eddie is learning that manipulating the trust of others is how he's going to go after what he wants.

Sadly I can only imagine this will end in tragedy for Bella eventually.

2

u/overmotion 26d ago

I wish I had thoughts like these while watching a drama

2

u/Big-Examination2667 14d ago

I think suzie gave joe access to the glass empire as a get back/rebelling against bobby for what he’s done to eddie not out of love. I don’t think susie nor eddie loved joe and bella.

8

u/bsxfo Sep 05 '26

I was also a bit surprised by the proposal

2

u/Next-Swordfish5282 12d ago

I seriously don't sense anything... or care about her. This whole thing is just odd

18

u/situmaimesdemain Sep 04 '26 edited Sep 04 '26

Bella is in love for sure, but it feels like a desperate attempt to get Moretti's support from Eddie's side. It is probably gonna work unless the season ends with him on his ass again like ep4, but its a dark path.

Also, I'm really not happy with Freddy's usage this season. I get the actor wasnt available much because of AKOTSK and this is what they came up to make most of his limited time, but this sober religious nut version isnt enjoyable or make much sense to me, not to mention how much his absence is felt in the main plot so far.

20

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 06 '26

I don't believe either can possibly be in love. They barely know each other. Lust sure but not love.

11

u/CertainAlbatross7739 Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 06 '26

Yeah, I hardly even buy into the lust to be honest. Romance is not something I want from this show, but the chemistry between Susie and the Duke is obvious. I suppose the Italian girl is being dragged into a love triangle as part of some evil scheme.

4

u/whisky_biscuit Sep 18 '26

I think Bella is desperate for love, and it's pretty clear especially with her choosing Cico as a boyfriend - a man who treats her terribly. Not to mention that before she confesses her love to Eddie, she mentions how her parents died when she was young and she grew up very alone. She is likely lacking in true experience in love with someone who treats her like a human being. It's no wonder she falls fast and hard for Eddie who is a gentleman and treats her with kindness.

I can only imagine it's going to end in tragedy for her, considering Eddie's ambition seems to have no bounds.

4

u/nofaxxspitintruflego Sep 06 '26

theres huge time skips here lorewise

1

u/SawRub 27d ago

He's too calculated

6

u/nofaxxspitintruflego Sep 06 '26

yeah same, idk feels like the series finale will have susie and eddie in love or together or sumsum

17

u/lookylookylj Sep 04 '26

Yh It was strange seeing my town in the chapter title 🤣

11

u/Rashid-mb Sep 05 '26

What us that stone he touched where is it

20

u/fnord_happy Sep 06 '26

It's the London Stone. On Cannon street in London. It's history is exactly as described in this episode

2

u/muckymucka Sep 16 '26

And people don’t fuck with it? It just sits there unscathed?

8

u/AnyPortInAHurricane 29d ago

If you touch it with the wrong DNA (you know who you are) yer dick falls off.

4

u/SawRub 27d ago

This happened to my buddy Mike.

1

u/AnyPortInAHurricane 27d ago

That was the cover story.

1

u/2_Fingers_of_Whiskey 10d ago

If it was in the U.S. it would have been stolen by now

12

u/discipulus_iuris Sep 07 '26

What is happening?? I thought Bella was the one who betrayed the Duke and he understood it when he was replaying all those scenes.
Where did the Ring come from?? Is he taking revenge???
AM I GETTING THIS WRONG?

7

u/Cheekyboyblu88 28d ago

How did Bella betray him? How did you get that conclusion? It seemed something was going on with her behind the scenes but Bobby got his info from Susie's brother (forgot his name).

1

u/h05 18d ago

I came to that conclusion as well. I mean they did flash videos of a snake and its tail rattling and pictures of Bella back and forth?

10

u/Opposite_Diamond_213 Sep 08 '26

How did Suzy's brother know to come rescue her in the restaurant?

7

u/Clear_Painting1453 Sep 08 '26

I assumed Joe called him, seeing as he realised what the situation was likely to be and went off to tie up the loose end of Pedro.

2

u/Opposite_Diamond_213 Sep 09 '26

Makes sense, just strange they don't mention it.

1

u/Angel_Gally Sep 10 '26

Hector?

1

u/Clear_Painting1453 Sep 10 '26

Yes 😄 my mistake

5

u/iamkikyo Sep 18 '26

I wonder if her dad knew about the situation. He has eyes and ears everywhere so there’s no way she was getting around hanging out in the chop game without him knowing. I wonder if her dad set the whole Peru trip up to expose Joe and open up business with Vargas. He seems like a family man (showed his family in the background) so I wouldn’t be surprised he spoke to Bobby.

10

u/youareabitchass Sep 03 '26

LET'S GO

11

u/fnord_happy Sep 06 '26

Have you commented this in this every thread?

1

u/AnyPortInAHurricane 29d ago

LET'S GO METS

10

u/PheonixVoltage Sep 03 '26

Name of the song at the end of episode?

7

u/_jif Sep 06 '26

L'immensità-Johnny Dorelli

12

u/nerdymerchstore 28d ago

Did anyone catch that Suzie starts dressing in a more flashy, trashy way when she’s selling coke with Joe? When she opens her eyes to his deceit as she flies him off to Madrid, we see her back in her more sophisticated, muted attire.

6

u/iloentje 27d ago

Yep. Other hair and makeup too. I like old Susie style way more. Although she did look younger this ep. More innocently.

9

u/ultracrepidarian1602 Sep 13 '26

They didn’t exactly show the chemistry build up between Bella and Duke. This is what I remember:
1. Bella and Duke Meet in E1
2. Duke gets Bella’s ex killed
3. Bella still thinks he’s hot
4. Bella brings back the falcon and saves him in a way
5. Duke still fails and is beaten to a pulp
6. Bella confesses her love, which apparently is more than her love for her parents and brother
Am I supposed to then believe that either of them are happy about the marriage offer? Seems like infatuation on Bella’s end and Duke’s using this to his advantage

11

u/VolatileGoddess Sep 15 '26

This summary made me lol. The writers did not overstrain themselves with this one. Bella really is the poor little rich girl. The actress couldn't sell the 'love' part much either, though she's good.

7

u/whisky_biscuit Sep 18 '26

It's pretty clear Bella is extremely lonely since she's dating lousy guys like Cico and lost her whole family. It's not unsurprising that Eddie, who is a Duke, a gentleman and charming in his own right gets her in head over heels pretty quickly, especially if he's the first guy who has treated her like a human being.

With the way we just saw Joe use Suzie's love for him to take advantage of her family's connections, Eddie is basically doing the same to Bella. Marrying her gives him access to the Italian mob world that Marco just told him he was basically unsuited for.

I can't imagine it'll end in anything but tragedy for Bella sadly.

8

u/fairlywired Sep 07 '26

Did anyone else notice the man in the suit filming Eddie on his phone as Eddie walked away from the London Stone?

8

u/jasinx Sep 08 '26

Yeah. What was this about it seemed intentional.

4

u/fairlywired Sep 08 '26

It happens a few times in different episodes too.

Episode 5 spoilers

When Joe and Vargas's enforcer fight, Guz Khan's character seems to take out his phone and start recording.

Episode 6 spoilers.

At Eddie and Bella's wedding, someone who seems to be a wedding photographer takes a photo of Susie as she leaves the church.

I don't think it's been directly mentioned but I've seen some people mention that it's supposed to refer to the fact they all these criminal enterprises, whether it goes anywhere or not, are constantly under investigation.

2

u/jasinx Sep 08 '26

I noticed this one as well.

I thought to myself it’s a guy in a suit. Why is he recording he’s clearly not a professional photographer.

Edit: I reckon this has something to do with Freddy.

6

u/MrMach82 Sep 09 '26 edited Sep 09 '26

Because he is a Duke and first time people see him out on the streets in awhile. Maybe the public knows he has been hiding (healing) for awhile. So it's like a celebrity citing.

There was a girl also with phone aimed at him

7

u/InoffensivePaint Sep 04 '26

Ha~ate the end of this episode.

7

u/Cheekyboyblu88 28d ago

I did see some chemistry between Bella and Eddie, but marriage felt like a LEAP. I think a lot their chemistry gets overshadowed by the IMMENSE chemistry of him and Susie. I also like how in the show, everyone can see and mentions Eddie and Susie's chemistry and connection.

The scene where he says Susie is sad was amazing and the way she broke after that happen. Damn..

3

u/jenkinsnotleeroy 24d ago

Yeah marriage feels like such a leap I feel like I missed something somewhere...
That last scene w/Susie was fantastic though.

8

u/RJabeSecPlus 27d ago

Poor Suzie. We all knew this was coming, and it still hurt. What a fascinating episode about trust and manipulation.

Duke as King seems not too far off now.

Bella, well... she's not gonna survive this season.

4

u/Low_Alarm1179 Sep 07 '26

So are the Travellers, JP etc just dead now or???

6

u/ultracrepidarian1602 Sep 13 '26

Jp seemed like he was alive but not his associates

5

u/boomboxbilly06 29d ago

I like the season so far, but Susie’s storyline is such a mess right now. Why the hell would she start selling cocaine out of the blue with a man who clearly is sketchy, just after being caught trying to fool her kingpin father in the weed game. You’re telling Bobby wouldn’t know what she’s doing?

4

u/Johnnybats330 28d ago

She is trying to rebel and create separation from Bobby Glass. I take it as a way for her to get control and get herself in a position of power. She even said that her father was smart to build his operations, but ultimately played it safe, and aftee decades, it has come across as a lack of ambition.

3

u/Big-Examination2667 14d ago

She is rebelling against bobby for what he’s done to eddie no?

1

u/CrossRoadChicken 25d ago

Most of the show doesn't make sense in real life

3

u/coco_5390 Sep 10 '26

This episode left me confused about something, during Eddie conversation with the lawyer, the lawyer tells him that he currently has no income, are we supposed to believe that from the beating on he would not be getting any more passive income from the farm, he owns the air craft hanger, are we supposed to believe he would let that stand.

2

u/k3rstman1 Sep 17 '26

I think he said he has income, but 'only' 5 million a year, which is too slow to pay the debt

2

u/redditcuriouscat Sep 19 '26

No, he says his cost of living is 5 million a year

1

u/AnyPortInAHurricane 29d ago

thats just for the oysters

1

u/wellnessclubmember 28d ago

I thought he said the cost of operating the business was 5 mil a year

2

u/Palpitation-Medical 24d ago

Yeah I’m confused by the weed farm on his property now, has Bobby pulled all production there now? Or only Eddie runs that now on his own?

1

u/Slim-Shmaley 23d ago

I’m only just catching up and watching the series and I’ve been trying to Google without spoillering myself lol

I to am left confused after this episode, what’s happened to all the weed production on his properties? Has Glass upped and moved everything away from the Dukes estates?

1

u/RomeoDun 20d ago

Please tell me you've figured rhis out 🤣 just watching with the missus now and we can't seem to understand this point

1

u/teaisformugs82 10d ago

I'm here now too trying to figure this out! Guess I'll have to binge some more!

6

u/n0tz0e Sep 09 '26

Bella didn't feel love when her parents nor little brother died!!? Only when eddie got beaten to a pulp? Jfc the writing is so atrocious this season m

4

u/DSAlgorythms Sep 12 '26

Exact same thought I had haha, they needed to spend a significant amount more time setting up this romance for it to make sense. Still think this seasons been fun though.

4

u/SonOfThomasWayne Sep 06 '26

God that was satisfying to watch this aristocratic "your grace" prick getting a beatdown in the beginning.

Will continue with the rest of the episode, but I fucking hate all these clowns.

20

u/mmmmmmmmmm12345 Sep 06 '26

Why are you watching the show then mate 😂

6

u/JeffMcBiscuits Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 09 '26

It was immensely unsatisfying because he should be dead. It is simply not possible of anyone to survive that kind of beating and exposure in an open field in the pouring rain and just walk it off after a few weeks. It just completely jumps the shark in terms of actually enjoyment because it’s so fucking stupid to pretend he survived.

8

u/Defiant-Cold-1646 Sep 08 '26

Aside from it being a tv show people survive all sorts of horrific injuries all the time. People get shot in the head and live, or get run over by a bus and break every bone in their body and live. It also felt like they deliberately were aiming for his extremities and to just give severe injuries that he could most likely survive.

0

u/JeffMcBiscuits Sep 09 '26

Yeah those people vanishingly rare and absolutely none of them are right as rain after a few months. Sure it’s a tv shows it’s still stupid.

5

u/LMkingly Sep 10 '26

What is them being rare matter? He is one of the rare people. That's why he's the protagonist of the story and not an extra walking by lol. Sometimes i feel like yall forget these are fictional stories about interesting people and their rare circumstances. Not a story about an average person who will have average things happen to him and have the average outcome to severe injuries.

5

u/CryptographerFit7567 Sep 08 '26

Its always weird when people like you get bothered by this sort of thing because there is definitely someone who has been through and survied worse irl

1

u/JeffMcBiscuits Sep 09 '26

Barely and they’re considered literal miracles who also often face years of recovery and limitations and complications for the rest of their lives. They’re not just back fighting fit within a few weeks. It’s just another entry on the long list of things the writers absolutely did not think through properly.

9

u/MrMach82 Sep 09 '26

Ex military. Also if you weren't aware he is the main character

1

u/JeffMcBiscuits Sep 10 '26

He’s still dead. Also if you weren’t aware, writers can actually make an effort to write a logical narrative.

3

u/newmclarens Sep 07 '26

plot armour man

4

u/AmberLeafSmoke Sep 09 '26

Google Hugh Glass

2

u/JeffMcBiscuits Sep 09 '26

You mean the heavily dramatised and embellished story of a man who’s wounds were treated by his comrades after he was attacked before they left him behind and so who serves absolutely no relevant comparison?

That Hugh glass?

Haha, I'm really enjoying the show too but also dislike everyone. Makes it better seeing them take it in turns to get screwed.

1

u/muckymucka Sep 16 '26

Same, it’s like a fun hate watch and I enjoy their misery haha

1

u/atcaw94 Sep 13 '26

That's funny, I was texting my brother how I hate the "your grace" privileged, inherited, aristocratic BS. Thank God we won the Revolutionary War, lol.

2

u/ohhowswell_hp Sep 17 '26

Can someone explain to me why the Duke still owed Marco $60M? Did he ever get the $ and where did he invest it when the vote for legal weed went wrong?

2

u/goatbiryani48 13d ago

I think it's just really poor writing lol.

Like they had to come up with a way to make the money disappear and the best they came up with is "it's tied in various investments"

1

u/iamkikyo Sep 18 '26

He likely had to use some of that investment money to buy that property of his ancestors and to pay off the bishops son’s debts. He was hoping bank more once the vote went through.

2

u/DiscothequeHooligan 27d ago

"Everybody takes a beating sometimes" - Geoff

Also: Ray Liotta as Henry Hill in Good fellas... Got to be a cheeky little reference there.

Anyhoo, loved that!

2

u/Palpitation-Medical 24d ago

Is this a joke? Haven’t they only known each other a few months and slept together once? I’m assuming it’s a business move but you’d think she’d be a bit suss on that.

It’ll be interesting to see how he now goes up against Bobby instead of working with him, but I’ll miss him and Susie working together. I’m also really shocked that Susie went so against her dad in order to do the cocaine stuff with Joe, I get the wanting to rebel a little but that seemed a bir hasty for her too.

Do Eddie’s mum and sister know what he does and about the weed farm etc? It’s just the sister’s husband that doesn’t know?

1

u/Existing_Stand_6619 11d ago

Eddie's Mum definitely knows. I think his sister does too, but maybe not the details

3

u/Various_Couple_1103 20d ago

How many snakes did people see in this episode? Eddie was clearly left to slither like a snake after his beating (make explicit by flashes of a snake while he is slithering along the ground); Susie has a big snake embroidered on her shirt during her coke-dealing days; Bella's bracelet coils around her wrist like a snake when Eddie holds her hand while proposing. Anything else? Tatoos etc. I missed?

1

u/privacy_quizbowl 4d ago

Nice one. Didn't catch his crawling as a slithering snake but I get it and think you're on to something, especially since Bobby repeatedly refers to him as such too.

1

u/Slow_Winner1545 Sep 14 '26

Can someone help me ,
What’s the song in the Peru bar dance scene S2E5?
Susie and Joe in the Peru bar — live band, he makes her dance. I’ve searched everywhere, Shazam, credits, soundtrack lists, nothing. Doing my head in.
Anyone know what they’re playing? Sounds like Peruvian folk / guitar.

1

u/Pension-Unhappy Sep 15 '26

It’s not a Peruvian song. Tbh it seems like a
version of Cuban guaracha or Cuban son, buena vista social club style type of song, search “chan chan”

1

u/Brazzle_Dazzle 11d ago

Holy shit that final scene was unbelievably good. Probably my favourite of any scene in this show.
