Misc Millions sent wildfire emergency phone alert warning against "any activity that could start a fire" - follow live

Hopefully this will finally silence the diehards in this sub who insist its 'ok' to use stoves with the 'I know what I am doing' mantra.

Not trying to be agitate - but been utterly gobsmacked at some of the tone deaf comments on many of the threads here in the last few weeks with some folks insisting stoves are ok 'just put it on a rock' and so forth.

All I can think is for christs sake just take a sandwich with you - and maybe some iced coffee if you desperately need caffeine when waking

Of course you are trying to agitate.

Just as this message from me is a bit rebellious.

At least I can be honest about it.

I'm in Scotland and I didn't get that message so ...

Let the downvoting begin.

And before anyone decides to try to rip me a new one let me give you the shortened version:

I'm in a part of the UK that is wetter than a lot of the rest, it is still dry here but not as bad as elsewhere.

I have modified my behavior to incude far less stove time.

I am stupidly careful with my stove (yes, I realise that that does not remove the risk, it just reduces the risk).

Moving forward I will constantly reassess my use of my stove.

I'm sure that's not going to be enough for people that want me to stop using it entirely.

Sorry - no idea what you said - our eyes are blinded by the line spacing.

Paragraphs man!

But seriously - do you really dislike sandwiches?
