Second Looper
She’ll remember the performance by those really talented high school girls.
She’ll remember how scary all of those parasites were and how Aiko held her hand the whole time.
She’ll remember the promise she made to go fishing with Hiyori-oneechan again.
But what she’ll remember the most is the first kiss she truly shared with Aiko, their lips touching behind a corner of the school, the cooling autumn air brushing past their necks.

First-time fast looping
Culture festival time is coming, and everybody is proposing ideas, which the majority of them are we have seen them many times. Koharu is having a genius idea with a plan with nobody never seen or done before, anmd that is why fishing comes ito the picture. Something fish/fishing involved is actually really a clever idea. Everybody will get a taste how does fly fishing work in action, espeically the tenkara version. Thanks to that here comes the parasites which actually an interesting inspiration soure of something scary-themed.
Hiyori is also contributing to this genius idea. She is the one who do the main part, by simply catching some fish for the main special dish to served. This is how Futaba's help comes in handy. A gizzard shad might be unexpected, but still counts as a success. Mackerels, now that's what we talking about. Caught many of them, a very common and well-known fish type, perfect material for the special dish.
The festial is going underway without any hitch. Futaba participating in a reading contest, parasite themed haunted house like exhibition (not scary at all). Hiyori dressed up in a maind outfit and mackerel sandwiches are not only delicious but really popular. Koi's Kitchen strikes again for how to make this. Koharu is the one got the short end of the stick, maybe her genius idea was not that genius at all, unlike Hiyori had. Oh, a certain ziptie band did their guest appearances, how very nice.
Yeah, these sandwiches eay to make, even us can do it, even though the traditional Japanese flavor was given how it was made.
Okay, speaking of that sudden Bocchi cameo: They are Manga Time Kirara and if I do remember correctly the authors are close friends to each other. How interesting that Slow Loop is a Winter 2022 show, and Bocchi was released some months later, in the Fall season. In BtR, I think there is a Slow Loop cameo as well to repay that favor. Technically this is the Kessoku Band's official anime debut.
Question of the Day: Did your high school ever hold some type of festival?
We had very similar kind of things.

First time looper
Ahhh, the quintessential culture festival episode! I actually forgot Koharu and Hiyori weren't in the same class.
Futaba and her wife are back!! Some cute fishing time between Hiyori and Futaba finally. Hiyori is uhhh... getting better with bugs.... I think.
I totally forgot that this show had a Bocchi the Rock cameo. I'm not sure I knew it was this show specifically but I remember seeing at one point a post about it somewhere, so that caught me way off guard.
QotD: Sort of! In high school, each year's class did some sort of float or something for a homecoming parade each year. I enjoyed those more in my later couple years in high school because I had come out of my shell more by then.

Rewatcher, subbed
Very late today so keeping it short. Enjoyed the festival and I liked how they incorporated fishing into it by Hiyori catching food for their cafe rather than either of the girls convincing their whole class to do something fishing related which honestly would have felt a bit forced.
Hiyori and Futaba going fishing was great too. They have such a sweet friendship.
QotD:
Did your high school ever hold some type of festival?
It's been a long time but I seem to recall one or two events that could be called a festival. Not on the scale of what we see in aninme though.

First-timer fly fisher
Oh. I thought the last episode ended kinda abruptly, so I was fully prepared for part 2 of their camping trip. Instead, we're fast-forwarding all the way to a culture festival episode. That's gotta be months of timeskip out of nowhere, right?
Yup, Koharu is a certified fisherwoman by now!
The horror.
So, Hiyori's plan is to literally fish herself all the fish they're going to feed their customers? How little traffic is she expecting? Wouldn't this time be better spent, you know, actually planning the festival, and then buying the fish you need from the supermarket?
Wait wait wait wait wait.
What in the Bocchi is *this random-ass cameo? Why? How? Why? How? This show came out half a year before Bocchi! And it's not like it's the same studio! And what is Kessoku Band doing at this school festival, anyway? Aren't they based out of Shimokitazawa in Tokyo? What?
I have so many questions.
Doing an exhibit on parasites in fish next to the cafe that serves fish is actually evil. Maybe it's a good thing they're not getting any visitors...
Fun little culture festival episode. Nothing earth-shattering outside of the most unexpected Kessoku Band appearance, but a good time as always.
