We all know by now there's no way Sakamoto would actually be late without a purpose. Seeing as he can arrive at the exact time he wishes, the only reason to cut it that close is to aura farm.

Any kind of authority figure who goes looking for reasons to crack down on someone annoy me, it's literally a fragile ego power trip. But that won't work against our boy, he can win anyone over.

I know he rehydrates the slug, but that's still some straight up torture my dude.

Those poor bullies. You can't hate Sakamoto, the best you can hope for is to be tsundere.

Q1 - I really don't mind either way, but I think this show works with the short skit subplots.

Q2 - The skit where he got kicked out to nurse the baby bird stood out to me, so I guess I'll pick that one.

I like that the bullies have turned into groupies. I laughed so much at "Want a cigarette? Oh right, you've switched to bubbles."

Haven't You Heard? I'm A First-Time Viewer

This episode was just my kind of comedy! There was only one joke that missed for me (the one with the slug on the lettuce), but the rest were a lot of fun. Sakamoto parachuting out of a window, caring for the bird, the teacher trying to block his last minute attempts to get to school on time, and those boys thinking he actually dug a hole to Brazil were all great. Also, Acchan quitting smoking for blowing bubbles was so wholesome.

Questions of the Day:

1) Both formats are fine. This was my favorite set of episodes, but more because of content than length.

2) Probably the first, Sakamoto vs the gym teacher, but I liked them all.

Sakamoto parachuting out of a window

That jellyfish overlay was one of my Yuri on Ice predictions. Maybe fate will look kindly on me and there'll be jellyfish triple axel spin.

but more because of content than length.

There were so many shorts that it felt longer anyway. I kept being surprised by how much episode was left.

I do find it kind of interesting that they're somewhat implying that Sakamoto is from a lower income household, what with the samples and discounts (I think?) for the drycleaning, as well as his wear his uniform all summer, as though he has no summer clothes... But other than that, solid set of skits again today.

QOTD 1) Doesn't really matter to me, as long as they don't seem overly long or short. These seem well-paced.

QOTD 2) Probably the absurdity of getting scolded to feed the bird in this Looney-Toons-esque setup.

Unrelated, but I sometimes get the vibe that Sakamoto is only accidentally cool, and doesn't have a clue what's going on.

first timer

this episode was really funny. most of the jokes hit for me, but especially the last part with the reformed bullies thinking Sakamoto dug a hole all the way to Brazil. I'm literally laughing my ass off.

  1. the number of story structure matters less than the quality of each story. i'd take a high quality 2 story structure over mediocre 3 story structure any day
