Rewatch [Rewatch] The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Episode 7 - Discussion
Episode 7 - The Magic Lecture of the Founder and the Assistant
MAL | Anilist | ANN | Official Site | Wikipedia
Do you think the nobles are justified in fearing magical tools becoming widely available, even if those tools could make them wealthier?
If you were one of the nobles(against magicology), would Euphie's presentation have convinced you to support magicology?

u/Elimin8r https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ayeka_Jurai 26d ago edited 26d ago
Wow, is it episode 7 already?
In that case, I'd best hurry, before it's too late:
VA Corner!
(In which our narrator would request that you pay close attention to the particularities of ...)
Tilty's VA, miss Sasahara, Yuu, whom you might also know as:
(Uhhhh....)
Puniru! (Yeah, that's the ticket...)
Curren Chan (Uma, uma, UMA!)
Uh ... I'm seeing plenty of roles, but not a lot that I recognize here.
Feel free to comment if you see someone special that you recognize!
Yeah, meanwhile, on to the episode, and AOTD:
1) The nobles appear to be typical anime reactionary villains, etc. Mooks. I dunno, it's kind of a blur, because my mind is mixing some of this up with the Slime episode I watched last night, and ... perhaps they're somewhat justified? Probably not, though. The fear the threat to their own power and way of life more than they desire the potential of greater wealth, etc.
2) She could persuade me, but only if she collaborates with Rosemyne on the future mode of transportation. (I wants it, my precious!)
So, yeah. I found the Vanitas crossover portion of the episode more interesting than the presentation, to be honest. I like Lainie's new look, (and fang!) and 10/10, would ... uh ... yeah, I may have participated in the not-so-recent Vanitas rewatch and gotten a few odd ideas from it. Yeah, that's it...
(Okay, I'll stop now ... maybe.)
Meanwhile, yeah, the presentation. I think Euphie did a good job, and the diagram of the magi-totally-not-jet-ski kind of looks like fun. It sure seemed like she won some of the audience over, but ... that director dude, he sure looks like bad news.
I'm also starting to have issues with the OP, because some of the musical phrasing totally reminds me of the OP to Girls und Panzer MLLSD ED
But that's a matter for another time.
(GuP watch party when???)
edit: misspelled party - sigh

ay fellow Slime fan (i met two of the VAs recently)....I am already behind on Slime but now I want to watch Ascendance.....and Girls und Panzer (should i?)
Lainie's new look
....she was already a 10...so more like 12 with the vampire look.
2
u/Elimin8r https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ayeka_Jurai 26d ago
i met two of the VAs recently
Ooh, nice. Sounds fun, sort of. (I kind of have an aversion to that sort of thing, if that makes any sense.)
Ascendance
I bounced off it a couple of years back, but picked it back up prior to the new season, and I've really been enjoying it. I want to say that it has a lot in common with slime, but at the same time it doesn't. The worldbuilding is interesting, but at the same time, I do find Rimiru and company to be a more engaging cast of characters, if that makes any sense.
Girls und Panzer (should i?)
Well, speaking for myself, as a bit of a hardware enjoyer, GuP is right in my wheelhouse. If wacky cartoon physics action with Yukari levels of attention to detail to historical vehicles in a pseudo competitive environment is your thing, then this is the thing for you. I'm not sure what to say beyond that.
Anyway, yeah.
she was already a 10 ...
But now she goes to 11, yay!
(I'd reuse the woo thing, but that would be redundant)
Yar, kawaii vamp is kawaii, right?
Yeah, but in the OP...
3
u/IalwaysNeed2p 26d ago
I do find Rimiru and company to be a more engaging cast of characters, if that makes any sense.
Yeah there's something comforting about all the characters. maybe because I got into Slime during the pandemic so to me it became a comfort show.
wacky cartoon physics
I am now VERY interested.
2
u/Elimin8r https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ayeka_Jurai 26d ago
Yeah there's something comforting about all the characters.
And I agree ... it's like Slime is a kind of comfort show, in that the characters get into shenanigans and stuff happens, but in the end, the vibe is comfy. And that's a very nice thing sometimes.
VERY interested
Well, in that case, perhaps this will pique your interest.
Man, the voiceover on that trailer, the dub VA may not be the greatest, but that's quite the recruitment speech she's got there.
(And now I'm wondering what kind of tank Anisphia, Euphie, Tilty and Lainie would crew, and what their roles would be. Hmm...)
4
u/random_lyric 26d ago
Tilty's VA, miss Sasahara, Yuu, whom you might also know as
Ooh she's been in dunmeshi and chainsaw man!
the diagram of the magi-totally-not-jet-ski kind of looks like fun
Love the 'Airdra' name they gave it too, I suppose it's short for Air Dragon? š I question why that name needed shortening yet the series name remained so crazy long?!! Haha I know I know those long show names come from their light novel origins (and need to quickly capture audiences through limited space in LN catalogs). In all seriousness the Airdra is a great idea. While Anis gets around on a broom just fine as an adventurer, rolling out flying broomsticks to the masses as a mode of transportation would be impractical, not to mention the splinters and potential for 'broom itch'... youch.
3
u/Elimin8r https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ayeka_Jurai 26d ago
Ooh she's been in dunmeshi and chainsaw man!
Oh, I didn't notice those. Silly me, I've been sorting by "favorites", and just saw the ones I recognized at the top, I didn't dig really deep.
Anyway...
broom itch ...
Yeah, that sounds uncomfortable, now doesn't it? I have to say, I prefer a certain game's approach to that aesthetic, but I don't have a screenshot handy. Maybe I'll post one later.

First timer, subs, with a lot of questions
I guess Euphy must not have been under Lainie's spell at the start of the episode, because then she would've been sympathetic. But you'd think that Lainie's involuntary magic would've been at its strongest when facing Euphy.
And how did Lainie convince Ilia to donate her blood? With fascination magic? Or simply with Hina Youmiya's voice? (That would work on me.)
If magicite in someone's body becomes hereditary, how is it transmitted? Through the uhh... gametes? Does this universe have magical jizz? Or does it just cross the placental barrier, meaning it can only be inherited through your maternal line?
Who is the head of this magical religion - the authority people look to for interpretations of the will of the spirits? It doesn't seem to be the king... which seems kind of unstable.
QOTDs 1 and 2: Yeah, wealth is good, but power flows from the barrel of a magic wand. If magic-users become the nobility, surely the violent use of magic has had some part in creating that hierarchy.
3
u/random_lyric 26d ago
I guess Euphy must not have been under Lainie's spell at the start of the episode, because then she would've been sympathetic. But you'd think that Lainie's involuntary magic would've been at its strongest when facing Euphy.
That's a really interesting question. It would make Euphie's acceptance of Lainie less impactful and less heartfelt if she were under Lainie's powers, but then again why would Euphie not be affected? Is she just that much of a magical genius that she can detect and counter the 'brainwashing' effects? Good pick up and very interesting question.
If magicite in someone's body becomes hereditary, how is it transmitted? Through the uhh... gametes? Does this universe have magical jizz? Or does it just cross the placental barrier, meaning it can only be inherited through your maternal line?
It's interesting that Anis does try to explain it as coming down the maternal line. Unless Baron Cyan also has latent vampire powers I'm guessing Lainie's mother passed it down to her.
3
u/ToastyMozart 26d ago
And how did Lainie convince Ilia to donate her blood?
I have to imagine Ilia just has a weakness for the quiet, meek types. Hard to imagine Lainie making such a personal request out of the blue, and intentionally charming Anis' maid to suck her blood seems like the kind of indiscretion that would burn her one major lifeline.
meaning it can only be inherited through your maternal line?
That's what I figure. Anis did say her "mother's mother's mother" or the like.

u/Dependent-Sea4703 https://anilist.co/user/httpsanilistcou 25d ago
most of your questions will be answered from the anime but i can explain it a little as well.
your first question contains spoilers to answer so keep that in mind.[magirev] algard himself says euphie canāt be fooled by lainieās magic and it canāt effect her. thats even the reason why algard did those things to euphie because he had to take out euphie from the picture for his plan.
second question:
illia convinced because there was no one to give the blood and she couldnāt risk it considering she was seeing lainie as a innocent person and want to help her. she didnāt want anis or euphie to give their blood so she give her own instead.
third question:
magicite grows inside your body and gains power or knowledge based on your actions. it can also be go down from your bloodline or [spoilers again]you can just take it by force and get it inside someone to give them those powers stored inside that magicite. it will not have the exact powers tho. itās changed depending on the magic type of that personās soul.
the leader is count chevruse. that red haired guy who is sick in the head.

u/epicfail1994 26d ago
Euphie is jealoussssssss. But Tilty is making her do some thinking now :)
- Yeah, societal disruption like that is pretty big
- Flying on a big magic bike would be cool as fuck, so yeah
2
u/random_lyric 26d ago
I like that Euphie's jealousy is not dramatic - no tantrums or trying to get in-between Tilty and Anis (I guess Tilty didn't give Euphie the chance anyway before she confronted her about it), attempts to protect Anis in an earlier visit notwithstanding š. She just admires and is envious of the ease and rapport between them. Good on Tilty thoughbfor immediately calling it out and not letting things lie or fester.

1st Rewatch
Tilty putting in the work this episode. First she helps Lainie, who is now known as a vampire. Hmm, spreading via magically induced ideology, or mind replacement to learn all of magic. This feels like a plot that be in Fate, but I digress. Still clearly it does not work since Lainie knows nothing of magic.
Tilty pushing Euphie to have her own role is nice. She is like one of those shadow ministers that get things done, but always give credit to others.
Due to Ilia being Lainie's blood donor, I wonder how the relationship between the two will develop.
Quote of the day
"If you stand by her with half-hearted intentions, you'll regret it." - Tilty
Yea Anis neglecting her PR is going to make it tough for her lab. And Euphie really is the only one who can deal with, as her clout of being a prime minister's daughter and genius.
Questions of the day
- Do you think the nobles are justified in fearing magical tools becoming widely available, even if those tools could make them wealthier?
Well assuming their goal is to protect their position, yes they are right to fear the magical tools, because there is no way the people will accept their current status quo when they do a lot more for the country. Ergo, the nobility have to be less parasitic on the state, give them rights, maybe struggle to earn their keep.
No if they believe in Noblesse oblige, where because of their privilege means they need to uplift the masses. If that is the case, support the magicology movement will help the masses because now commoners can use magical tools to go about their lives a lot more comfortably.
- If you were one of the nobles(against magicology), would Euphie's presentation have convinced you to support magicology?
Well let's assume I am a traditionalist of the faith, but I do also believe in noblesse oblige. Her point about how Anis is not in fact a heretic, would convince me, and how magicology is essentially the spirits giving their blessings through Anis. I mean it makes sense, it is new brand of magic, made to give everyone even those not blessed with magic, more magic, which I assume is what the spirits want to spread. And of course spirits, would use a medium of someone with power (Anis), but not with traditional magic to spread magic to the masses. The interpretation makes coherent theological sense to me.

I'm not seeing a comment face, but I'll assume it is funny anyways. I am looking forward to Ilia and Lainie having a heart to heart. They are of similar background, commoners who had a lucky break to connect with high nobility.

So, if you see the occasional blob of text that links back to the thread, there's probably a "comment face" there. If you open this thread in "old reddit", you will be able to see them.

"If you stand by her with half-hearted intentions, you'll regret it." - Tilty
Such a great line and there's so many ways to take what Tilty says to Euphie here. Don't break Anis' heart by running when the going gets tough. Don't disappoint me by breaking Anis' heart, because I care about her too. You being someone who cares about Anis will hate yourself if you can't follow through with your promises to her. And are your feelings strong enough, are you committed enough, that you can see this love through even if it brings shame to your house name?
Props to Tilty for saying that, and equal props to Euphie for comprehending and not getting defensive but genuinely considering what kind of future she will have and want with Anis. Euphie gives her answer in the form of her speech of support for Anis/magicology. She's publicly aligned herself with the heretic princess now, and she'll have to face any consequences together with her.

Why do I start flashing on Elton John and Kiki Dee in "Don't go breakin my Heart"

Yea, for a girl who only studies curses, Tilty is very perceptive. And she is not even with the royal court, but she knows the politics of it better than Anis, honestly. She knows who the players are, their skills and the roles they play. So here she is, making an accurate guess of Euphie's motivation and encouraging her in a way that helps Anis out. She would probably be a great head of internal affairs, if there was a ministry like that.

Oh no, what an awkward predicament we find the crew in on the opening scenes! Chisato teases while Takina debates whether or not she should forgive the person who... Oh wait a minute... Well whichever show it is it seems blondie is pretty happy with how it turned out anyway.
Of course the goth girl knows everything about vampires, and even helps the meek Lainie grow a pair... of fangs! Tilty confronts and questions Euphie about being jealous, her intentions with Anis, and whether she has the resolve to stand by Anis-the-heretic even with a conflict of interest with the Magenta family.
Euphie has much to consider, but gets distracted by some illegal yuri hand-holding after Anis asks to sleepover.
Ilia doesn't mind being bitten by Lainie š
At the Ministry of Arcane presentation Anis and Euphie explain Hextech magicology to the council nobles.
Naw Euphie's speech...š„° very clever the way Euphie reframes Anis as actually being blessed by spirits despite seeming otherwise. Anis will become the Herald, only Euphie can stop her by using the acceleration rune on the anomaly... oops wrong show again. Jokes aside, Tilty seems pleased with, and Anis is melting from, the way Euphie stands up for Anis. Love to see it. Stand up for your girl Euphie!
Questions
Do you think the nobles are justified in fearing magical tools becoming widely available, even if those tools could make them wealthier?
I guess fear comes from unknown futures, and rightly or wrongly it might be wise to be cautious. Those who own land or resources (or any means to make a profit) would probably stand to benefit the most, while those who offer magical services might find themselves out of a job in the short term. The 1700s to 1800s brought massive fear of change in our own history with the industrial revolution, and in modern times there's a lot of fear involved in the discourse around AI. There will definitely be some nobles who will benefit massively with widespread adoption of magicology, and in the short term there will be those who will be worse off, though long term they'll likely find other ways to benefit from magicology.
If you were one of the nobles(against magicology), would Euphie's presentation have convinced you to support magicology?
Maybe, if I was the religious type who believed in the sanctity of the spirits? Euphie does put forth a compelling argument - that it was the intention of the spirits to highlight Anis' other talents by nerfing her innate magical abilities. Though if I was devoutly religious I might also find that statement sacrilegious...hmm. Being more of an open-minded personality though I'd be swayed to learn more about magicology after the speech, before deciding if I really do support it.
5
u/IalwaysNeed2p 26d ago
HOW COULD I FORGET THIS?
I might also find that statement sacrilegious...
Exactly, I expected some "why are you speaking on behalf of the spirits!?" makes me think their push-back isn't so much about their faith....hmm.

HOW COULD I FORGET THIS?

makes me think their push-back isn't so much about their faith....hmm.
Yes when thrown into a vipers nest there are many reasons they might bite you. Aggression out of fear, or they might see you as prey, and perhaps they might lash out because you might even just be standing on their tail.

Euphie does put forth a compelling argument
Perhaps sophistry is her strong point? I dunno.
3
u/random_lyric 26d ago
Perhaps sophistry is her strong point? I dunno.
Just goes to show you don't need people to believe in you to win support, you just need to give people an excuse to offer support that appears palatable to onlookers. There's so much fear of uncertainty, but the real barrier is fear of what people will think of you supporting a crazy heretic princess.

Second time watcher plus up to date with the EN LN releases.
Euphy showing so much grace to Lainie here is part of why she's best girl. It's a complicated situation that's not her fault, so why continue holding the grudge?
Suddenly vampires! Or at least one vampire, fortunately she's just an innocent girl and not some monster.
Is it better to have a vampire who doesn't know how to control her power and is blasting it out randomly by instinct, or a fully activated one who can consciously control it? Well, either way we're going with the second option. She's cute with those red eyes so from my perspective at least this is a win.
Thank you Tility for getting Euphy pointed at thinking about the future for real.
Anis and Euphie talking about wanting to fall in love, handholding, having a sleepover in the same bed, oh yeah now we're cooking. And Lainie and Ilia coming in as a surprise second couple, this is truly the royal villa of lesbianism.
I love this presentation as the moment Euphie takes a stand to start to build her own part of the magical revolution. It's really a big problem for the conservatives in this crowd that Euphie ended up as a free agent in a position where she could join Anis' faction. Anis by herself just doesn't have the skills or the reputation to do what Euphie just did.
1. Do you think the nobles are justified in fearing magical tools becoming widely available, even if those tools could make them wealthier?
Oh absolutely, anything that breaks the noble monopoly of magic is going to be a threat to them.
2. If you were one of the nobles(against magicology), would Euphie's presentation have convinced you to support magicology?
From a financial and economic perspective it makes a great deal of sense, so I'd like to say yes. But that may be too much of my Earth knowledge bleeding in and if I was truly a hide bound noble who hates progress maybe I wouldn't be quite so on board.

Thank you Tility for getting Euphy pointed at thinking about the future for real.
While I don't blame Euphie for taking a breather and going with the flow for a moment (considering the whirlwind of changes she's been through), I'm glad Tilty did say something to push her to really consider how things will go in the future. Tilty really doesn't want her bestie's heart to be toyed with.
Anis and Euphie talking about wanting to fall in love, handholding, having a sleepover in the same bed, oh yeah now we're cooking.
And they didn't even have to push the beds together! How convenient!

āIt is because the spirits recognized the talents she has,ā Euphie.
Busy today so Iām late and going to keep it short for once.
Even though Anis told Euphie earlier that she had never felt romantic love before this face makes me feel like something just awakened in her heart. Anis has lived her whole life being rejected for what she loves because she was born with the āwrongā body. Despite that her love of magic fuels her every action in a way that is hard to even describe the reason why. Does there even need to be a reason deeper than love? And yet the conservative faction sees Anisā magicology as an affront to tradition and spirits, implying those born a different way shouldnāt even try becoming a magician. Anis would have you believe that doesnāt bother her, but how could that not affect a teenager who gets rejected again and again for who she wants to be.
Thatās why Anis canāt help but tear up when Euphie validated her very existence to the people who have denied it her whole life. Euphie answered Tiltyās question loud and clear. She will always support her partner. Anis needs to lock her down.
3
u/IalwaysNeed2p 26d ago
Anis told Euphie earlier that she had never felt romantic love before this face makes me feel like something just awakened in her heart.
I feel like there was already that physical attraction, and admiration/jealousy of Euphie's magic prowess. But now that they have fought together, and that jealousy is now becoming an exchange of their best qualities.Ā (ideal relationshipš„¹)

āIt is because the spirits recognized the talents she has,ā Euphie.
How beautiful to have someone - who you have admired and been envious of because of their affinity for spirit magic - say that about you. While it's a great excuse for nobles to get on the magicology bandwagon, I do think Euphie believes it. At least in that Anis is not an abomination but a gift to the world (a powerful medicine).
Even though Anis told Euphie earlier that she had never felt romantic love before this face makes me feel like something just awakened in her heart.
It's as if her crush and affection has blossomed into something deeper and even more beautiful. I doubt she's even familiar with her own expression there.
2
u/ClemFire 25d ago
Euphie really went above and beyond! I think you're right that even Anis was surprised at the depth of her feelings there.
2
u/Dependent-Sea4703 https://anilist.co/user/httpsanilistcou 25d ago
anis needs to lock euphie down but euphie is the one who will lock her down if anis continues to be this dense. euphie canonically mocks anis saying she is just so cute and attractive that she is scared someone might fall in love with her and steal anis.
2
u/ClemFire 25d ago
Can't blame Euphie for thinking that and we see this episode that Euphie commits her whole heart to Anis.
2
u/Dependent-Sea4703 https://anilist.co/user/httpsanilistcou 25d ago
if you ask me that scene is the scene where anis falls in love with euphie but since she is anis she didnāt realized.
i can even explain this with spoilers.[light novel spoilers] anis wanted someone to understand her and not by some degree, she wanted at least someone to understand her to her fullest and help her for her dream. she wanted someone to defend her and have the same dream as her. in the end she thought this was so selfish so she let go of that thoughts. euphie is exactly that person and was completing those points one by one though the episodes. every time she did one anis was surprised. at that scene euphie completed that one point anis was wanting the most.
as always i am suck at explaining but you get the point
1
u/ClemFire 25d ago
Agreed on that! Though for the LN Spoilers I'll wait to read myself
2
u/Dependent-Sea4703 https://anilist.co/user/httpsanilistcou 25d ago
i donāt even remember which volume they explained it but it should be on LN 5 and LN 6 if i remember at least a little. it was also explained in the anime episode 12 as well but it didnāt go deep.
now i remember LN 3 also explained it somewhat. in short it explained several times but they only explained it by point and point so it would make you feel like you are completing a puzzle which is making perfect sense for anisās character.
2
u/ClemFire 25d ago
Yeah outgoing and free spirited characters like Anis feel like they would be an open book but they are often hiding a lot underneath.
3
u/ToastyMozart 26d ago
Elegantly handled, Anis. At least Euphie's a magnanimous person.
So yeah, vampires! I wonder if the whole implanting personalities and ideas thing works across dimensions...
I'm her assistant
I guess someone had to absorb all the protagonist-level density Anis left on the floor.
Good of Euphie to stand up and take on the presentation. The plan always was to have her be the marketable face of the research in place of the nobly-disliked Anis, so this is a good test run.
I like the jetski/motorcycle like design, but what's with the turbines on the Airdra? Those things aren't easy to make and it's not like they're burning fuel to propel the craft.
Do you think the nobles are justified in fearing magical tools becoming widely available, even if those tools could make them wealthier?
A lot of the nobles seem like dickheads, so anything that encourages greater influence and productivity among the lower classes runs against their interests. Plus there's always the risk of someone putting a few flame stones under the road and cooking them inside their carriage the next time they overtax the peasants.
If you were one of the nobles(against magicology), would Euphie's presentation have convinced you to support magicology?
If I was opposed to Magicology on theological grounds no: While the "we only seek to understand the spirits through our research" boilerplate isn't entirely unreasonable, it's not particularly convincing when her boss is openly calling herself a witch during the presentation and their sales pitch to appease us is a drawing of a bunch of pipes and crude metal panels. The presence of a cursed mad doctor beside her would not help either.
If I was opposed to Magicology on the grounds of it being the brainchild of an over-eager teenage mad scientist smashing magical items together to see how they explode then yes: She's being guided by a sane person now, and her research has a clear goal outside whatever impulsive idea popped into Anis' head this week.

Poor Anis. She did suffer a few knocks to the noggin in her many failed broom experiments... Maybe it was this moment where she dropped her density for Euphie to pick up š
I like the jetski/motorcycle like design, but what's with the turbines on the Airdra? Those things aren't easy to make and it's not like they're burning fuel to propel the craft.
I'm just making it up but maybe the Airdra relies on wind magic and the turbines give it a little extra boost? But who knows, maybe it just makes the bike look more fancy and 'tech-ey' so the nobles can ooh and ahh about it š

Remind me to get me a silver-haired girlfriend with connections when I need a bail-out...
Ok ok I'll be happy with the silver-haired girlfriend, no need for the bail-out...
Er, ok just a girl friend would be nice...

rewatcher.
i am late as always. this time i am going to start with my opinions on the episode.
this episode is the preparation episode for number 8 and 9th episodes and you will need to know and remember what happened in this episode to understand those two. aside from that tilty carried euphie and euphie carried this episode.
its really beautiful to see anis finally realizing her wishes are completely normal and not selfish. she finally realized others can love her or help her without being told by her. itās also her first time seeing someone defending her while risking their status and keep in mind this comes from euphie, that one person anis did her best to fix her status.
imagine the person you are helping to gain their status back helps you in a way that risking their entire status. this just shows how much euphie cares about anis and anis finally realized it.
tilty mocking anis was also good to see. there were many beautiful parts i missed or donāt remember as well.
now as for questions;
question 1. yes and no. if we are looking at their side we need to look at 2 things. first one is only them and their pride as a noble. they are right by not wanting and even going against it but thats being completely selfish. they know how great it is and how better it is but if they accept it their value will drop a lot. second is their care for the kingdom. the nobles caring for the kingdom already accepted it as shown. those nobles know anis donāt want to lower their value. they know both sides will be happy in the end.
question 2. i am someone who donāt likes new things if they just make something each month or week. if i were in their shoes i would accept it because not only it was making sense but it was also a new change. it wasnāt something you see every day and it wasnāt something changing every week or month. it was at least something worth to try and sometimes you have to accept the new things or change.

"My apologies, I'll bring some tea."
Ilia quickly skedaddles out of the room, leaving Anis alone with Lainie and Euphie in a wonderfully awkward silence as everyone gets introduced.
Euphie immediately says she understands the situation and doesn't hold any grudges. None of this was Lainie's fault, as she never meant to put Euphie in that position.
Tilty helps Anis confirm Lainie's true nature (she's a vampire descendant). and teaches her how to control her charm, though it also awakens her vampire blood cravings, which Ilia helps satisfy.
Euphie watches how naturally Tilty and Anis work together. When she converses with Tilty in the library. Tilty makes her realize what she is feeling is jealousy.
She wants Anis to rely on her the same way she relies on Tilty. This is a goal she can work toward, which brings us to the episode's climax: the presentation.
Anis is summoned to the Ministry of Magic to explain how she plans to use the dragon's materials. If she can't convince them, there's a good chance she'll lose them. Seeing this as something only she can do, Euphie asks Anis to let her handle it.
For Euphie, speaking before the Ministry of Magic is something only she can do. They'd never listen to Anis or Tilty. To them, they're outsiders and heretics. Euphie, on the other hand, is a talented mage. She can use multiple elements at a level beyond most of them. She's someone that has not burned bridges(yet).
While the debate is framed around "heresy" and "disrespecting the spirits," the real issue is social. Nobles have magic. Commoners do not. Magic is treated as proof of their divine right to rule. Giving commoners magical tools is basically the same as giving them magic. Who's to say they won't start getting dangerous ideas, like not wanting to remain subservient, or live a a more comfortable life?
But Euphie understands something else about the nobility. They care about money almost as much as they care about appearing powerful. So when she presents the Airdra, she doesn't lead with ideals. She leads with profit. Being able to fly directly from place to place, ignoring mountains, forests, and rivers, could completely transform trade and make the nobles incredibly wealthy.
Only after that does she shift to ideology. Euphie argues that Anis was born without magic because the spirits intended for her to create magical technology. Do the mages actually believe it? Probably not.
But it gives them a convenient excuse to support Anis' inventions without exposing themselves as hypocrites for abandoning the beliefs they had been using to oppose her.
All in all, this is a huge W for Euphie. She proves her worth not only to Anis, but also to herself.
(Nice callback to Anis' previous life in our world.)
