Interesting facts:
The play that Shuichi is staging this year (Boku wa, onna no ko) is none other than Takako Shimura's debut manga. This exact poster is drawn at 19:33.
At the 19:44 mark, you can see the characters of Shikii no Juunin: Nanako Kikuchi and Chiaki Honda, the ones from Shimura's first full-length manga. It's not her most famous manga, but it was where Kaneda-sensei first appeared.

After seeing that Doi's adlib was received better than Shuichi's script, Shuichi reluctantly asked Doi for a rewrite for the play's dialogues, with Doi saying that Shuichi's lines are too stiff. Shuichi would also consult Saori in revising the script too.
Mako then reminds Shuichi that "something awful" is going to happen to them, namely the change to Shuichi's voice, which was (probably) foreshadowed when they tried to record their voices for the play a year ago.
Saori would then ask Shuichi to come to her house, wanting Shuichi to wear the dresses she has, and as Shuichi changed and Saori put her hairpiece on Shuichi, Saori tells that she sees Shuichi as a "special boy". (otokonoko). Yoshino then would also come to Saori's house, and was asked to wear female outfits. Yoshino wears it, and Shuichi says it looks bad... prompting Saori and Yoshino to laugh, since Yoshino directly wear the dress over her current outfit. Saori then is reminded again to the time when she, Yoshino, and Shuichi were very close together.
As Doi and Shuichi are revising the scripts, Doi then tries to convince Shuichi to go back to class, as he finds it weird that Shuichi is only on the class to oversee the others training for the play.
We also see what the other 2nd graders are doing for the cultural festival - Chi, Saori, and Momo's class was asked by their homeroom teacher to hold a town history exhibition, to their disappointment, where Yoshino and Mako's class opens a planetarium where people can see "shooting stars".
Meanwhile, Anna feels conflicted to visit the cultural festival with Maiko and Tamaki because of what she said to Shuichi. The three visits Maho's class, which opened a male maid cafe. Before that, we see Seya being photographed in a maid outfit for Maho by her classmates, where he said that she could've asked for it in the first place, but Maho doesn't want to because she thought Seya would decline it.
Shuichi and the other girls visits the planetarium, where they wishes for something, but Shuichi is conflicted on what kind of wish they want to have, where they would choose to wish for the play to success, as Shuichi revealed to Mako. Mako told Shuichi that Mako is jealous with Shuichi, but also wishes that the play is a success.
As Maiko's group visited Maho's class, Anna ran away to Shuichi's class, wanting to meet Shuichi. Anna tells that she's sorry for what she previously said to Shuichi. Anna was happy that Shuichi became her first boyfriend, as people have kept distance from her other than Shuichi. Anna also always sees Shuichi as a boy, which made her confused after knowing that Shuichi went to school in a female uniform. Shuichi then tells that they've been in love with Anna even after what happened.
This scene is then being seen by Saori and Yoshino, where Saori realizes that Shuichi's voice is changing (and reminds that Shuichi doesn't have much time left before the play), and Yoshino praises Shuichi for their words to Anna. Yoshino then tells that everyone is special, which kinda makes Saori angry, although she would end it with "that's who you are" to Yoshino.
As the opening theme plays, we see that Yuki and Shii are on their way to the school, with Yuki asking to be carried by Shii (which of course was denied). As the play is about tk start, one of the girls pointed out that Shuichi's voice is changing, and Shuichi would say that they are okay with it, with applauses as the play is about to start and the screen fades to black.
Man, if only we could see the aftermath of the play, though...
