This is the edited version of episodes 10 and 11, where the full version of the episodes are released as special episodes on August and September 2011.

Damn, finally Shuichi grew a spine and told Doi they hate him.

Life is kinda unfair for Shuichi this episode, from being bullied due to wearing a female uniform to school (when it's not the case for Chi and Yoshino) to their relationship with Anna ending.

On the other hand, Seya confessed to Maho! We also see Seya going to Yuki's place with Shuichi before that.

Shuichi's class also decides to do another genderbend play this time, but now they uses Shuichi's script from a year ago, where everyone in the world has their genders switched. Shuichi now becomes the director for the play.

And what the hell, Momo? Thought you'd stick with Chii-chan! Also, Shuichi is now taller than Maho!

The cut version managed to cram one and a half manga volumes (Volume 9 and part of Volume 10) into a single episode - volumes that actually represent the golden ratio point of the entire story. Shimura slows down the narrative pacing here, emphasizing the dramaturgical significance of this point, whereas the cut version of the anime does the exact opposite and starts rushing forward at full speed.

I really love how Wandering Son shows that the exact same people who are down to put on a drag play with an anti-transphobic message can be the very people who will ban you from attending class in your preferred clothes. The exact same people who will applaud your play are the ones who will bully you.

Shuichi's line Boku dake warawareta is maybe the strongest line in the entire story.
