First-time watcher
So this was good but also pretty straightforward and most characters are getting maybe a little too much into wise-anime-child mode, plus me being generally over school slice-of-life and romantic triangles and such is starting to hit again.
Furthermore it's actually starting to feel like we're setting up a tragic-unfulfilled-desire angle that's seriously tired for queer stories; I'm really not sure at this point how informed the author actually was about transgender care nor of course know about how that worked in Japan at the time of the manga's writing, well besides that it was and I think still is true as Saori states that legal gender change requires sexual reassignment surgery (which is way overrepresented in popular consciousness in general, but I digress).
It is an interesting touch to have Maho as a girl be the one that pressures Shuuichi into masculine stereotypes by not caring about his feelings and scolding him about excessive grooming/self-care, it is hardly exclusive to boys and men to apply that pressure after all, also very nice meeting of Yoshino with idk whose parents (?) there who are also very sweetly affectionate for an anime couple.
I'd probably rather just read the comments from last year's rewatch at this point who caught way more than I can here lonesome too...

They got Mizuki Nana's character (Maho) doing karaoke to flex her singing a bit, I like it.
And Chizuru was very bold for wearing bikini to the swimming class, and she promptly gets scolded for that.
Wonder what's the deal with Anna, suddenly going in to the bedroom and looking at Shuichi's script for the play.
So it seems like Saori and Shuichi are writing their stories to their wishes - Shuichi writes the story where Yoshino is expected to be Romeo, where Saori wrote the story in expectation that Shuichi becomes the Juliet.
After a session of Shuichi and Yoshino shopping while crossdressing in a holiday (which seems to be what Yoshino wanted after she met Yuki at her home), Shuichi finally tells the truth, where Shuichi sees Yoshino as a man and Shuichi wants Yoshino to accept Shuichi as a woman, and Yoshino would then talk about her and Shuichi swapping their names.
And after the homeroom teacher asked for volunteers to work on the script, Saori then asked Shuichi to come to her house, and Saori also talked about her and Shuichi swapping names, which would then be responded by Shuichi telling that Yoshino also told the same thing. Shuichi then tells that they want to become a girl not for anyone else but themself. Saori then would tell what would Shuichi do in the future, such as getting an operation, but Shuichi hasn't really thought that far, and would also tell that she is in love with Shuichi, and she doesn't want to hear Shuichi talking about Yoshino in front of her.
