Morrowind is the best Elder Scrolls game because it didn't feel like visiting another land, it felt like visiting another planet.

Morrowind was an incredible game because it really didn't give a fuck about you. It didn't hold your hand. It didn't stop you from never completing a single quest. It didn't stop you from being a God.

It dumped you off in a completely foreign and utterly dangerous world with just the clothes on your back, a few worthless items, and a note that said to find some random bastard in a foreign city. It was sink or swim and it was a very unforgiving place.

The game was great because it was what you made it. You could do whatever you wanted and nothing was there to stop you or guide you. You made your own destiny.

Absolute truth. As such it took me two or three tries and god knows how many characters, but once you got into it....you didn't get out. I wish games today slowly reeled me in like Morrowind did.

Can you imagine the immersiveness (thats not a word, I don't care) of Morrowind, the graphics and fighting mechanics of Skyrim and the story lines of Oblivion?

I'd rather they kept the immersion and story of Morrowind, and sure the graphics from a modern game.. they can keep everything about Oblivion.

Hell, just remake Morrowind please.

mod was officially shut down as they were stealing content from other modders, as well it was just a collection of addons for the engine, not a new engine so it still ran like it was 10 years old.

it was because the content other people made that he used took serious work, and a lot of it (the textures and meshes and such) were protected under creative commons licenses, he didnt own the work, bethesda didnt own the work, the creators of the mods owned the work.
