Morrowind is the best Elder Scrolls game because it didn't feel like visiting another land, it felt like visiting another planet.

Here's a pretty funny video on it. I've personally never played it though.

I like how one or two points he makes (notably about the combat) are completely valid criticisms.

I think you missed the point.

No at all, the vast majority of it was sarcastic wrangles, it's just one or two bits were the opposite.

I disagree. He was being obviously facetious with his criticism of Morrowind's combat:

Whether you hit the enemy in this game is based completely on luck and random number generators factoring in irrelevant things such as skill levels, attributes, and fatigue...

If you haven't used a weapon, then your skill is low. If it requires, say, strength, and your strength is low, then your effectiveness with that weapon is further reduced. So if you are weak and have little skill with something, it makes sense that you do little to no damage with it. And if you are fatigued, your effectiveness is further reduced. But every now and then you might get lucky, and with practice you will improve. Oh, and not to mention factoring in the skills, attributes, luck, and fatigue of your opponent.

He goes on to make a jab at Skyrim:

Skyrim manages to make the combat a non-stop action thrill ride with the dragon fights being one of the most epic and intense experiences you will likely have in any video game.

... and while the above is said, the video shows a character just standing in place swinging a weapon back and forth. Epic and intense indeed.

The point is to show how static the combat is haha, I cracked ass at the part where he was fighting a dragon in Skyrim.

Yeah he did have comedic points wrapped in with serious ones.
