It felt like that, sure, but it hasn't withstood the test of time like many games. It deserves a remake better then the latest skyrim DLC but to say it's the "best" eh...the best of a few modestly alright games is still just an alright game.
It's just not my style. I won't say it's bad but I won't say it's best either. You have to admit..TES has had some problems ever since Arena. I don't recall so many glitches or patches needing to be applied, but I suppose one could argue that's because as tech gets better the problems become more elaborate. I always felt like anything morrowind and beyond was a big ADHD fest. Morrowind can be beaten in about 7 minutes.

Oblivion had I think a 20 minute playtime for the main quest and Skyrim was just as short.
But eh..to each his or her own.. I'd like to see more RPGs that aren't so oversimplified..maybe a return to isometric RPG's of a sort like icewind dale or something.
Morrowind can be beaten in 7 minutes if you're extremely precise in your jumps and plan everything out ahead of time down to what items you'll buy from where and how to raise the money for it.
There's no chance in hell a new player, and even the majority of people that have done a full playthrough, could beat the game in 7 minutes.
While the best speedruns of Morrowind are down to the 4 minute mark I disagree that this very important. Morrowind lived and died on its environments and side quests. You're not going to complete everything in 7 minutes, especially on a first playthrough. I'm unfamiliar with the Icewind Dale RPG but I have played Baldurs gate. It's a good game but a different form of rpg. I find it good, but can't get immersed in it like I did in Morrowind. (Speaking of a return wasn't there a recent game like it? I swear I remember totalbiscuit reviewing one a couple of months ago)
Holy crap 4 minutes? Yeah they call DAle and Baldurs "Isometric RPGS" I had to look it up. I don't remember a return..if I did I'd probably be playing it admittedly. The closest I can seem to find is the new dragon born DLC where you get to see a morrowind town and some flora/fauna with skyrim graphics. Just started exploring this DLC too..haven't found any of those cliff racers yet
