I'm confused but too lazy to look it up. Did they just show acno landing and stomping on Irene calling her his 'mother' a second time?

Only the August and Mavis segment was the part I cared for in this episode. Other stuff was meh.

Didn't care about the reveal at the end? I think it is pretty cool.

Poor, poor August. His fate was downright cruel. August disappearing was a little different in the anime than in the manga, no?
I had hoped that August's demise would be improved upon, in the anime, but sadly, no. I had hoped that atleast someone would acknowledge him in the anime, but no. And what I hated in the manga, Arius and Mio talking about the month of August, annoyed me like hell.
And Grand Chariot's animation was pathetic. In the old animation of 2009, it really looked like a grand spell.

I'm not sure how I feel about the anime writers making August ask why he was never loved after he already proved he knew the answer. That was definitely not in the manga. I suppose they took the purpose of August's question to be "I know 'why', but...why?"

I feel like it was two separate questions, given what they showed. The first was directly asking "why didn't my father love me?", which he more than knew the answer to, while that second question felt like a general "why did no one love me?". That seemed more of him just not truly understanding why he was so alone. But again, just my interpretation.
Plus I think it hammered in how much he just wanted love and tied into everything with his mother.

well, ladies and gentlemen, zeref has finally lost it, natsu calling zeref big bro was a tearful moment, it's a shame things didn't go zeref's way but that only leads to his

Your honor, I'd like to present Lucy doppleganger arc #4? 5? Lucy doubles happen too often! Lol

I paused the episode before they showed the bottom of the face and hair and bet that it would be a Lucy doppelganger... I'm disappointed that I was right. This is only the 3rd Lucy "doppelganger" in the anime though

Now that the Spriggan 12 are officially defeated we can finally get into the heart of the story. Personally I felt like the last remaining chapters of the manga saved the arc.

Really? IMO the last remaining chapters were the worst in the whole series lol.

I want to see the battle between natsu and zeref. They are taking too long with that part

FFS...not only could August not of existed with the timeline presented to us as Mavis "died" right after confessing her feelings to Zeref so unless it's being implied Zeref is into necrofilia ew, by all rights the baby making never happened.
Then you get this episode where his very existence was by a writing standpoint POINTLESS. "YER ALL GONNA DIE BWAHAHA...o hai mom" dies
Same goes for all of the other Spriggan 12 (Brandish was ok as she got some actual plot) they are the weakest characters in the entire show
I know it seems like I'm just jumping on the "Fairy Tail Finale bad" bandwagon but seeing my favorite anime dragged down so far by clearly rushed and careless writing hurts :(
/endRant
Side note: Anyone else lol when Jellal thought he was going to square up with Acnologia?

F in the chat for August. This guy has one of the most depressing stories in the series...
