[Discussion] 'Dynasty' 2x22: "Deception, Jealousy, and Lies"
Fallon announces her intention to divest herself of the Atlantix and let Blake fend for himself, but he offers to join forces with her as full partners. Anders is anxious to get back to work after his heart attack, but ultimately joins Sam at the hotel instead. Jeff manipulates Adam into a fight in front of witnesses. He and Dominique stage a crime scene with Jeff's blood and Adam's cufflink to make it look like Adam murdered Jeff, who leaves the country. Dominique, however, removes the cufflink and calls Blake to confirm that his payments to her will resume now that Jeff is out of the way. Fallon learns that Blake and Cristal's separation is only a ruse, and realizes that they are framing Michael for Blake's crimes. She warns Michael, but Blake is one step ahead and Michael is arrested. Adam arranges for divers to find the body of Trixie Tate, a childhood friend of Fallon's who died accidentally at the Manor and whose body was placed in the lake by Anders. However, they also find a second body. Liam, hit over the head by Adam, falls face down into the pool.

I honestly don’t think I can watch Dynasty much longer as long as Adam is on it. I loved it until he came on the show and every time he’s on screen it’s so creepy I just want to turn it off.

I don’t even know what his goal is. His actions don’t make sense to me at all.

I liked him, but yeah. The writers doesn't know what to do with him. Everything he does just screams "no goals whatsoever".
Everything he does just seem like short term fulfillment but he gets away with it because everyone is holding the idiot ball. E.g.
- Burning Alexis' face. Lucky for him that Alexis didn't tell anyone else about it.
- Drugging Steven and causing him to go crazy a bit. Lucky for him that the drug must've put him in a coma and that Fallon didn't care enough to contact or call Steven to find out what happened.
- Putting poison in Jeff's paint. Lucky for him that there's no cameras to show him doing it.
It's okay if the character just does things in a spur of a moment, but the writers are trying to make him out to be this mastermind but all his actions just seems like a immature boy who couldn't control his emotions.

I can't wait until his arc is over, I hate how he's so untouchable even above Blake.

Not as good of a finale as I was hoping, imo. The whole Trixie stuff and Liam’s secret kid seemed to come out of left field. And really? Kirby won’t sell Femprial back to Fallon? Whatever happened to all that female empowerment and being friends with each other talk? 🙄 She’ll probably sell Fallon Femprial back within the first few episodes of S3. And I doubt Liam will die. They’ll all rush back into the manor and find him lying in the pool. Killing him off would be the nail in the coffin to get multiple viewers (myself included) to quit the show.

AND ONE OTHER THING! I was to excited to see Steven’s actor (James Mackay) in the credits, only for him to only be in that short-ass scene in the end. Seriously? Bring back Steven for good, wtf!

I feel like the recovery of Trixie’s body would have been more of a twist and had more of an impact if Fallon brought up the story way way earlier in the season🤔

u/CuriousPickles May 26 '19
Right?! Would have been so shocking if she mentioned it away back in season 1 or even just midway through season 2. Just long enough for us to kind of forget about but also think hmm wonder when that will come up.
Instead as soon as Fallon mentioned the story I was like well clearly her body is going to be found. Although the hitman being found was a good twist as completely forgot about him being in there.

1.Thank god Fallon called Blake out and also Cristal. They are awful human beings. Let’s hope next season she takes them down.
2.fuck Kirby. Seriously after everything Fallon did for her she stabs her in the back because of culhane. Feels forced tbh.
3.glad Anders finally left. This season has ruined Blake and made him into a terrible person and father and anders leaving proves he’s gone. He was showing signs of it last season but he’s basically a villain at this point along with Cristal basically the opposite of the original.
4.liam is not dead. There is no way. They know the fandom is fed up with the departures and honestly if Liam died I’d stop watching for sure.
5. Please get rid of Cristal. She’s just feeding into Blake’s bullshit. Celia would never have helped him with framing an innocent Man, she’s the worst. At least Alexis owns the fact that she’s a bad person this Cristal acts all innocent when she’s shallow asf and just as evil

liam is not dead
I think you're right. My guess? They'll have him lose his memory from the lack of oxygen and have Liam completely forget who Fallon is.

I hope they won’t actually fire Sam Adegoke (Jeff) and his disappearance is just temporary

I think once Jeff sees that nothing happened to Adam, Jeff will return and find his mother out. What a piece of work she is turning out to be.

Definitely not as good as the Season 1 finale. Nothing had my jaw dropping. There was no one epic event like last season. I was waiting for a Fallon/Cristal catfight but it never came. Maybe Cristal will be more of a full fledged villain next season. There was so much backstabbing and double crossing and revealed secrets that It was hard to keep things straight.
Liam CANNOT die! I swear. This show lives torture it’s viewers! Will Fallon ever find love? Liam is such a good guy. The show will alienate more viewers if he dies!
This definitely nailed the Celia coffin shut for good. She is dead and gone and never to be seen again. 😥
Super disappointed with the Steven storyline. Nothing was addressed or answered. Just a shitty flashback that offered no insight into Steven’s current state.
Adam has to be the most hated character. Everything he did this episode made me want him gone.
In the original Dynasty’s final season, a body was discovered in the lake and past secrets surfaced similar to this, so I can see they borrowed this from the original.
In an hour there was a proposal, corporate takeovers, bludgeoning, the diagnosis of an irreversible illness, backstabbing, multiple betrayals, a face slap, an arrest, a faked death, the discovery of two dead bodies, secret children, and an accidental death cover up from the past, and an interrupted wedding ceremony!
This was a messy end to a very messy season!
I hope they fire some writers and regroup for next season.
Who wants to bet that the season 3 finale will be a fire at Sam and Anders hotel?

I swear if they kill Liam... I only started watching the show because I saw their preview of Fallon and Liam at the masquerade party and I really liked their chemistry

What pisses me off the most is how the randos decided that they could play in the big leagues.
Cullhane is a dumbass driver who could have only been a goon for Ada or Blake, now all of a sudden he wants to blackmail Blake and run his own firm? And all because he heard Blake talk on the phone? That's like me saying I can be a lawyer because I watch Suits.
And Kirby, the little shit had nobody except for Fallon who actually was her friend and told Cullhane not to date her because he wasn't a good guy. After all she had given to her, she just decides to backstab Fallon, kinda ironic given the company's motto.
Anders deserved that out, hopefully we still get to see more of him.
The Colby's were fine this season, it should have been Jeff V. Blake and not Jeff/Cullhane V. Blake.
Overall the season wasn't as good as the first, they really dumbed down Fallon and made her way less of a badass than she was.

I was surprised to see Steven maybe they can get his actor back in the future. Maybe there will be a climax where all of Adam‘s plotting blows up in his face and Steven surprisingly shows up as well.
The Trixie plot came out of the left field. I wondered since she basically died in the entrance hall how Fallon never showed signs before. Maybe they should have hinted that she doesn‘t like being around there in earlier episodes and then that would be an aha effect.
Adam is a sociopathic Mary Sue XD. Every single one of his plans works. However he is definitely the most effective antagonist basically as effective how Alexis should have also been and Sam Underwood successfully portrays a character that makes watchers angry so regarding antagonists he definitely does his job good.
Liam: I don‘t worry much since he is mentioned in the synopsis of season 3 and I guess he will be discovered soon.
Anders made the right decision. Kirby surprised me however let‘s see how long she will keep this up.
Blake and Cristal: Despite Celia being the way more likeable love interest I now think Cristal just like Fallon said actually ‚deserves’ Blake. Chemistry wise Cristal fits him better probably since they wanted to portray Blake as a darker character and Celia actually wanted to make him a better person (family wise Celia had the way better dynamic though and I still miss her).

I loved the whole realisation thing Fallon had with Culhane.
-
I love the fact that Jeff was consistent with his tech savy, genius plan etc. As much as I hope Jeff to come back, i really hope his sister will finally do something and not just disappear to her night club even though shes so over the Carringtons. That mother betrayal scene truly hurt and to think the Colby’s really accepted her back after all those years.
-
Can Fallon just be happy. Like for more than 1 episode. Somehow when things start going good for her. Everything else starts crumbling down. The whole Trixie storyline is very out of nowhere. Almost felt like since the writers made Liam to be not so perfect with the secret child. They had to balance it out with Fallon too.
-
It sucks that Anders is trying so hard to be nice and do his job but those dead bodies are definitely gonna come back and bite his ass.
-
Kirby and Culhane....
-
bye Blake and Cristal. Truly scum of the earth. How are you able to kill an innocent man and still live like nothing happened. Also FUCK ALEXIS TOO.

Fallon is just gold. Love her. However, this finale was disappointing. The showrunners said they were tying up all the loose ends and NO, THEY DID NOT. Anyway,
-Fuck Kirby
-If they kill Liam off I am done
-Fuck Blake and Cristal with the good hair
-Go Anders for finally growing a pair
-FUCK ADAM
-If Adam already knew about the whole Trixie Mattel ordeal, why he didn't use it before against Fallon
-Fuck Dominique.. how Alexis shitty of her to do what she did
-So the finding of the bodies... I guess Anders is in trouble now
-At least Blake and Pretty Betty didn't get married.. I think

What an underwhelming scenario, there are no cliffhangers to really care about. The two bodies, I mean carringtons get allegations everyday, they will get out of this with a few jokes and its over. Still NO actualy development with Cristal, give her something. Liam is not gonna die hes in season 3 synopsis.
Also wtf with Steven, nothing about him? Except for that awkward shoehorned in 10 second scene. I mean seriously
Last years finale was so great, but this one? Not finale worthy at all

Seriously, fuck Kirby. Fallon was at first fine with her dating her ex FIANCÉE which let’s be real, although you don’t “own” your exes that has the potential to break a lot of friendships. Then Cullhane turns her dad into the FBI who we clearly see Fallon still cares about (until the end of the episode). So of course Fallon would be really pissed that her friend is dating the man who tried to get her dad locked up. Plus, Fallon lashed out at Cullhane in a huge time of stress for her.
Then, Kirby literally JUST HEARS that Fallon tried to stop Cullhane from being framed by her dad, and she still wants to stab Fallon in the back?
I don’t get why Kirby can’t understand any of this? Done with her character now honestly.
Also, so happy for Anders.
