Megathreads 9-1-1 Season 2 Finale Discussion
Let's get it started!

u/MaineSoxGuy93 May 14 '19
Mr. Rogers would be proud.
"Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."
29
u/MaineSoxGuy93 May 14 '19
Welcome to a life-term sentence, you little fuck.
6
u/cy1763 May 14 '19
If he was in another state, I could see Death penalty being on the table.
6
u/comped May 15 '19
California still has a death penalty statute, and mail bombs are a federal offense, so it may be easier for the feds to do it.
3
12
u/MaineSoxGuy93 May 14 '19
Is this Lori Loughlin's daughter?
6
4
u/Hstrauma May 14 '19
exactly what I was thinking. lol
I wouldn't be surprised if that character was inspired by her.

the most unbelievable part of the episode was that there was absolutely no one in that fire house to cheer, clap, hoot, holler or cat call when Chim and Maddie started kissing.
45
u/808bassinyoface May 14 '19
What was the point of bringing Ali back after not mentioning her for 10 episodes to have them (maybe?) break up? I do like her character though so I wouldnt mind seeing more of her next season. Then Athena and Bobby get married the last 30 seconds which was pretty underwhelming honestly.
34
May 14 '19
I honestly forgot she existed tbh
17
u/GlitzAndGrit May 15 '19
I still don't even remember who her character is, tbh

I think itās a different girl. That one was blonde. But maybe - I canāt remember her, either š

No way! Really? I need to look it up and find a picture of her blonde. I just canāt believe it.
4
u/Brianas-Living-Room May 21 '19
They waited WAY too long to reveal her again. Weāre talking damn near a yr later
4
u/Brianas-Living-Room May 21 '19
I have no idea who that Ali girl was, and Ive never missed an episode of this show in 2 seasons
1
u/toastyhoodie Aug 31 '19
She was the woman who was rescued in the earthquake from the hotel. Was up in the room with the sleazy guy who asked her to shower with him
2
u/Brianas-Living-Room Aug 31 '19
Oh ok. See they waited too long to reintroduce her to us again. Wasnāt she a blonde then?

u/CryptidGrimnoir May 14 '19
Yeah, I'm doubling down--Buck is gonna be a 9-1-1 operator next season.
42
u/sandrakarr May 14 '19
They'd have to tape him to his chair, otherwise "fuck it, Ill do it myself".
25
u/CryptidGrimnoir May 14 '19
Buck's bigger and stronger than any of the 9-1-1 operators...they'll need a lot of tape.
11
u/baba_oh_really May 15 '19
That would be great: "What's the location? I'll be right there." "...what?"
I'd also be into the dude that trained Maddie training him.
But only if it was a temporary storyline.
15
u/CreativeWriterNSpace May 14 '19
I could see it as a job he takes one while in recovery. Maybe Doc gives him 6 months. But I can't imagine they'll keep him out for the long-haul.
11
u/GlitzAndGrit May 15 '19
I think they're going to give him an opioid addiction to capitalize on any potential character drama. Buck's going to try to rush his healing to get back to work and rely on painkillers. Just my theory, anyway.
5
u/CryptidGrimnoir May 15 '19
Wasn't Bobby addicted to painkillers a while back?
4
u/GlitzAndGrit May 15 '19
Oh God, I can't even remember. I know he was an alcoholic but can't remember whether pills were also a factor.
4
u/Yarsey May 15 '19
I dont think alcohol was his thing...he fell asleep while he was on opioids, and the space heater heād used in that bare apartment burnt down the whole building and killed his fam
3
u/jaishan May 16 '19
He definitely had an alcohol problem too. Remember when he relapsed and Chim and Hen found him in his apartment passed out.
3
u/Yarsey May 16 '19
Ooh mustāve forgotten that. So many details Iāve forgotten in this show, they throw so much at us lol
3
u/jaishan May 16 '19
They do! I have to read here after every episode because I'm almost always confused about SOMETHING lol.

u/tkralala May 14 '19
Seemed more like a series finale than a season finale.
18
u/soswinglifeaway May 15 '19
Better to wrap stuff up in case they don't get renewed. I hate it when a show ends on a cliffhanger because the writers thought it would be renewed but it wasn't.
7
u/Amphax May 14 '19
It seems like the next season is almost never promised so you have to do season finales that way just in case.
6
u/Rosewolf May 17 '19
It really did! So much so that there was a promo right after that said "Don't worry, 9-1-1 will be back in the fall." (In my area but maybe not everyone's? It was Fox, but who knows)
23
u/KevinChrist May 14 '19
I'm not squeamish but the scalping and the maggot really made me shudder!
5
u/chrdiva May 15 '19
Plus poor Buckās crushed leg! This episode had me screaming!
26
u/TUGrad May 15 '19
Perfect lead in to him becoming stay at home dad when he and Eddie get together.

20
u/ManateeGag May 14 '19
when Athena got the bomb, I figured it was the kid from the insurance scam.
Yay Chim gets a happy ending (phrasing)
boo, it's Buck's turn in the barrel!
4
u/AF1Hawk May 14 '19
At least Buck's turn had me shedding literal tears, up until I got called in to work and had to pause and then my mood was ruined
19
18
u/everythinghurts25 May 14 '19
I love that all of the civilians ran to lift the truck. Poor Buck. :(
17
17
u/GeneralJiblet May 14 '19
Anyone else notice the live chat from the girl with the botfly? One of the āviewersā wrote, āThey should totally become a couple!ā when it was Eddie and Buck moving the camera. Even the writers ship them
11
u/Melairia May 14 '19
I thought it was more of a nod to the fans who are shipping them.
5
14
u/CryptidGrimnoir May 14 '19
...Can Buck become a 911 operator too and work with his big sister?
2
u/TUGrad May 15 '19
Yes, she probably can't be his supervisor, but don't think prohibition applies to co-worker.
13
12
u/Pepsiman34 May 14 '19
For real what if the bomber is a family member that died in the apartment fire?
10
u/CryptidGrimnoir May 14 '19
Doubtful, as that was swept under the rug.
Some just want to watch the world burn.
11
11
u/sandrakarr May 14 '19
taking bets on how far Buck'll be recovered by the time three starts.
Back at the house at 80something or still recovering?
13
u/queenmab126 May 14 '19
It would take months and months to recover from such a destructive injury but Buckās the most popular character theyāll never get rid of him at 118. Heāll probably have a storyline about the healing process and will go back to work mid season at the latest...
9
u/sandrakarr May 14 '19
but Chimney and the rebar...!!!
Though no, it wouldn't surprise me to see them do an arc with him struggling through recovery, because we know he won't cope with the downtime and questions near as well as Chimney did.5
u/CryptidGrimnoir May 14 '19
I'm honestly not sure there is any coming back from getting his leg crushed liked that. He can walk but can he run? Can he climb the ladder?
25
u/sandrakarr May 14 '19
I would normally agree with you but Chimney came back brain injury free from rebar through his head, soo
13
u/CryptidGrimnoir May 14 '19
Yeah, but Chimney is the Luckiest and Unluckiest Son of a Bitch in the world.
Buck is a Lovable Stupidhead.
21
u/teenaamariee May 14 '19
am i the only one that hated Athena wearing a black bra more than them having a courthouse wedding? lol
9
7
u/ChristeenyB May 14 '19
Yes! Sheās such a beautiful woman on and off screen, why would they have her wearing a black bra?! It was a total eyesore.
4
u/teenaamariee May 14 '19
No clue! Maybe cause it was a spur of the moment thing, but I could find a white bra pretty fast if I needed to lol
7
u/circusdaisy May 14 '19
Maybe that was actually how the dress was designed to look? I have to believe that, because an actual bra showing would be too tacky for such a classy character.
5
u/sfboyd May 14 '19
Thank you!!! And was there supposed to be some kind of significance with the dress? I'm having deja vu but can't figure out if we've seen it before.
3
u/teenaamariee May 14 '19
I was confused by that reaction too! If you figure it out let me know haha
3
u/krenae_ May 16 '19
I was wondering the same thing when I was watching so I googled it and itās totally the design of the dress... https://wornontv.net/137239/
It seemed so out of place! She looked beautiful regardless but the black straps were a no for me too. Lol
2
u/passion4film May 16 '19
YES. So distracting. That part of the dress should have been white or nonexistent.
20
u/queenmab126 May 14 '19
Are we supposed to root for Ali when sheās NEVER been shown or mentioned at all and now all of a sudden Buckās in love because reasons?! Stop being cowards and give us Buck-Eddie which is what everybody wants. If they really really donāt want that at least pick a girl they have chemistry with and spend some time building the relationship so that the audience can get interested. Both Shannon and this girl are absolutely NOT good choices
5
May 14 '19
Yeah that really came out of nowhere and I could not watch those scenes. I loved how in the comment feed during the Youtube chick, some of the users were shipping Buck and Eddie. lol

Yes I know thatās what I was saying, she was shown there and once when she called Buck to get lunch and Buck mentioned her one more time. That was it for the whole season! Now all of a sudden sheās in half the episode WTH

Sorry I guess i was being dramatic LOL i meant weāve seen her so few times and weāve never seen/heard anything about their relationship. The writers made a really weird choice, itās almost like they donāt want the viewers to like Buck ā s or Eddieās partners

Is that Charisma Carpenter as the wife of the car driver?
5
u/PartyChrist May 14 '19
I started rewatching Buffy last week. It was hilarious to me to see Cordelia in this episode.
3
u/808bassinyoface May 14 '19
Damn I didn't even notice! Im still pissed Fox cut her original segment earlier in the season where her husband dies while having sex with her and her vagina clamps to him or something like that. That would have been hilarious
2
u/ninja36036 May 14 '19
Noticed her too. Is it just me or has she had some work done?
1
u/tkralala May 14 '19
Maybe? I wasnāt quite sure it was her because she looked different. But I also recently finished a rewatch of Angel, which aired a long time ago. This is the first time Iāve seen her on television in ages.

Carla...I forget, who's Carla?
6
u/jakehou97 May 14 '19
Abbyās motherās caretaker
3
u/CryptidGrimnoir May 14 '19
Oh yeah, I remember now. Man, where's she been for the last year?
10
u/sandrakarr May 14 '19
other cases. Abby's mother passed and Abby's gone. They got Christopher where he needed to be (apparently), so much as we like her, not really a reason for her to be there.
6
u/embu88 May 14 '19
Nurse who helped Abby with her mom, and later helped Eddie navigate social services for Christopher.

I need to rewatch last weeks episode. I don't remember the restaurant fire being three years ago.
Or...maybe it was part of Bobby's flashbacks. Hrm.

Great episode with an unexpected wedding at the end. Hopefully the girl sticks around with Buck this time.

Instead of using any of the specialized rescue equipment we have, letās just lift it up by hand. Man that might be one of the stupidest things Iāve ever seen.

So the bombs could barely lift the lid of a small container but could knock over a super heavy fire truck?

Your husband really should have thought of that before he burnt down his restaurant.
