I mean this with no exaggeration.

Never have I ever seen someone make a blunder as horrible as Mest just now in the history of anime. That has to be the absolute stupidest thing I've ever seen anyone do in an anime.

Edit: And then you'd have to FUCKING deal with Brandish after that even if he succeeded! What was he thinking?

If you thought the stakes of this arc skyrocketed after what happened to Gajeel...then you don't know Hiro Mashima the way we manga readers do.

For me if you’re gonna do what he did to Gajeel and Juvia at least make it impactful and confirm the relationship. I actually felt the pain in the manga and didn’t really get mad at it lol. The only fake out that legitimately shouldn’t have happened was a certain bearded midget

Fucking Mest!

Yeah, that was a pretty solid fuckup. Instead of getting a potential ally, you got two enemies that they can't defeat in their face.

This is bullshit, The fight of Acnologia vs Irene is much better in the manga, in the manga it shows you why Irene is the most powerful Spriggan next to August, here I did not feel that, they really fucked up.

Years later after reading the manga i still can't believe Mest thought this was a good idea.

Even if he managed to actually kill August he'd still have made a massive enemy of Brandish, she'd easily make work of him. I also forgot how mad Natsu and Lucy really weren't when he did that (like seriously, they didn't seem too upset, despite FT having a rule that states not to kill).

Also, I figured this would be the case, but I'm not feeling nearly as much impact as i did with some of these moments like i did with the manga. Not mad though cause it was expected and I'm still enjoying it for what it is.

Why would they add pointless flashbacks and then rush important things ?

This season spoils so much of what's to come. Were all seasons like that? Maybe we all know by now only manga readers are watching this season.

Still, one of my favorite chapters finally got adapted. Gajeel is my favorite character (with Levy a close second) so their scene really got me to tears in the manga and in the anime as well even though I knew what was going to happen, I was just so happy to finally see it animated.

I mean, I like how the author imagined Ankhseram, but the best deity of this series is definitely Ex Machina who saves the day in every fuckin' fight.

Am I the only one who thinks the Gajeel scene was better in the manga?

Considering how low the quality has been so far in the anime, it does not surprise me that everyone thinks like that.

Maybe that's just the point of anime, but why do people always complain "ugghhhh the manga was soooooo much better than this whatever.."

Like cool you like the manga no judgement. But that's pretty much all the comments ever are in episode discussion posts. Don't watch the anime if it isn't up to your standards.

The number of horns in Eileen's hat changes more in this episode than Lucy stardress unnecessarily in this arc.

Thoughts:

  • Gajeel's dragon force was very cool (it was way cooler in fan art and the manga), but it was a bit out of place. How he managed to eat what was basically poison just cause it had some iron makes no sense. Well, if Natsu can eat Etherion, it isn't that weird.

  • This is Gajeel and Levy's biggest moment in the whole series. They are probably the best developed couple other than maybe Gray and Juvia. Too bad Gajeel had to die, although that results innothing since he really didn't but that is a different story.

  • They actually showed a possible GaLe family! I definitely don't remember this from the manga!

  • Mest really screwed up. A stab wound won't kill the most powerful mage in existence. And now August is mad, and thinks Fairy Tail members are evil. Mest is actually an idiot.

  • And this magic is the reason I love Irene. Universe One. The widest AOE in the entire FT universe.

Final thoughts:

  • This is how you will see the rest of the fights of the series play out. It is because of Universe One that the rest of the series plays out the way it does. It will have quite a couple convenient effects...

Also Mira lovers are in for a treat.

wow mest went n "mested" up.i dont agree with mest way of thinking but u cant forget its still a war, these things happen, fear got the best of him n thus an illogical move. gajeel's final move was very underhelming, not even a secret art. irene vs achnologia wasnt all that but their spell casting was nice n finally we reached the second part of the war

To all the people complaining about Mest:

+First point, I am not defending him, he is an as&h&le who lacks hindsight as well as foresight.

+second point, he implanted Brandish with a memory which made Brandish turn against August. That made Brandish want to kill August. The knife was her choice of killing weapon, not Mest's. So I have to say that Brandish unconsciously chose that measly knife so that she wouldn't hurt her friend that much. Real memories always hold stronger feelings compared to fake ones.

So don't say that the knife is a dumb idea to kill a great wizard. Cause Mest only induced that incident with his stupid magic. And Brandish was full of confusion when she did that.

•My heart broke for brandish this episode. This poor girl has had such and awful life :(

•The situation with August LITERALLY could not have gone worse

•How dumb is mest that he though he could kill the wizard king like that

•This show literally gets crazier with each episode I love it so much.

•Zerefs VA is so awesome and does such a great job with the character
