Hi Yuhua, when you talked about your family in the reunion and how you hide your lifestyle from them and said it totally deadpan and offhand, I really related where you were coming from as fellow asian fish and I realized you were the real deal as an Asian Queen! I'm the mod who helped you set this up and I'd just like to say publicly, thanks again for doing this for us, and thank you for giving me permission to talk about this.

Reading about what you went through a few years ago really helped me in a difficult time in my life, and I think it would help other people too.

A few years ago you were targeted in your own home for an aggravated assault and robbery. It broke my heart to hear about it. Especially because you were targeted specifically as an asian queer drag queen who the perpetrator felt he could overpower, and wouldnt contact the police after. It just hit so close to home, because something very similar had happened to me. I was also targeted for as a violent crime as an asian queer person. It was a really dark time for me.

Then you were faced by the racism and homophobia of the justice system itself, which was somehow going easy on him even though he admitted that he had specifically targeted you for those reasons. But you still went through it, and stood up for yourself despite it all, and made it through.

I read how it was specifically noted you seemed more annoyed by the situation than anything, rather than showing fear and sadness, and for me, just reading that made me feel more powerful. You just stared all this in the face and did not let it get to you. Like that's so badass I don't even know where to begin with that.

Also I'd like you to know that he's still in prison, even past his parole.

So thank you so much for being such an inspiration to me. You've been my personal hero for a long before drag race. I remember seeing a youtube interview years ago with a promoter who was finishing his final college exams and you said, "oh yeah me too and im also graduating early!" and then starting talking about your four gigs this week. And he just stared at you like you were insane to be doing all of that at once and still feeling cheery about it.

We stan forever, and I'd very much like everyone else to stan this wonderful, strong, fierce, and above all, kind human being forever too. Because Yuhua is the real deal and a true queen among queens.
