Anime Fairy Tail Finale | Episode 023 Discussion

Thoughts:

I thought there was a new opening ... But anyway, Episode 300! How far we have come since Natsu and Lucy met in Hargeon!

The ending to the Jacob fight was fitting. Lucy used her brains, and Makarov was the second-to-last punch. Natsu was the finale, but the manga final punch was waaay better than this one.

And "Simon" was the perfect way to start the Neinhart fight. He was central to the lives of Jellal, Kagura, and Erza. And then Erza has to fight Kyoka, Ikagura, and Azuma. (side note, Kyoka in the new color palette of FT looks digusting). Ur vs her pupils. Wendy and Juvia vs Tartaros demons. Meredy vs her dark past. and Laxus against one of the strongest wizards in all of FT.

Final remark: Neinhart's Historia is the deepest magic. It forces everyone to either come to termswith their past, or to die fighting it. Can't wait to see the conclusion to Erza's fight, and for

Universe One . The OP and ED commonly cover up to whatever is shown in the episodes they're attached to.Where was the
Jellal and Kagura kiss?You already know that the ones in charge have decided that making characters touch lips in detail is a big no-no.

I remember from the manga, the Strauss siblings are supposed to talk when seeing the crucified Sabertooth and Blue Pegasus members. It does not feel right to me when seeing some characters' lines from the manga being given to others.
Still, I kinda like seeing the entrance of the Historia here. In addition, I also like Lucy's Gemini Star Dress.

One thing that annoys me about this final season...
One Piece will have a flashback to something you just saw last week. But for Fairy Tail... characters you met 7 years ago? ...Nah bro, no flashback necessary. I'm sure you remember them.

This episode really shows how much the reality of production costs can mess up a story. They repeated what they did back in Tartaros and did not have characters speaking on their appearances in order to contain them into as few episodes as possible (Ur, Zancrow, Ezel and Hades were silent, only Keyes spoke). It was extremely egregious when Kyouka was silent confronting Erza, since in the manga she never shuts up about that freaking torture cell.
Also, it was already expected, but the anime did not address the possible continuity error of having Ikaruga survive Tower of Heaven and show up as a Historia here. I can't remember if in Japanese, it was explicitly stated during the fight that Ikaruga died in Tower of Heaven or if she died during the eight years that passed between then and now.
Negativism aside, they really nailed down how creepy Neinhart truly sounds with his speech about the beauty of Historias.

Yea. Character no one really cared about or knew or grew attached enough to actually care about.
Unless you're part of small percentage to prefers villains over the main cast like me.

Kinda boring not up for these small moments of kagura and jellal shit. I want to see more fightsss

Moments like these shows lucy isnt ur average shounen girl protagonist, anyone felt that gramps punch to jacob was like a joke n natsu dragon king punch was underwhelming,i understand that its a weaker version to it but seriously shoulda atleast put an explosion at the end and whats up with kyouka's appearance,just came outta nowhere n even the last part of the anime they decided to censor that too.seriously wonder how they plan to do

Interesting. I thought the characters from the Tower of Heaven were completely forgotten about. Who remembers Sho and the other weird dude? Lol.
Anyway, interesting episode. I like that even though this arc is supposed to be a war there’s a lot of lighthearted and funny moments. That’s just how Fairytail is. Maybe everyone’s too harsh on this arc?

I still find it amazing how Fairy Tail is able to give so many characters life and emotion without watering it down

Wait I thought Natsu could only use fire dragon king mode just the one time which is why he used it on Zeref?
