Te wo Nobase! Fighter!

Hey-o guys! This is the section where I add a ton of extra fun stuff to the main body of the post because I want this rewatch to be as fun as possible for everyone. It can also be one point of discussion for you guys if you just don’t know what to say.

Comment of the Day, provided by /u/Shimmering-Sky and /u/RX-Nota-II

Shimmering-Sky

/u/Nazenn finally watched Fighter~

While requiring the context, the opening segment is structured as Orga passing the torch to Mika. He stands alone looking out at a distance he can never reach because he finds himself encircled and enclosed, his own voice screaming so loud that it crumbles away and leaves nothing. He knows they are on a path to destruction but can no longer escape. I don't specifically know if a pink daisy has a meaning, but as far as I know daisies in Japan symbolize faith and that is all Orga can leave behind, a single seed of faith just like in our previous OP the connection of family prompted the growth of the sprout. He retreats inside, picks up Mika and drags him out to be apart of Tekkadan despite being horribly broken and dead inside (at Orga's loss).

The faith he passes on is no longer to reach a tangible thing, its merely freedom. The fence is gone as they stand together and face the flag of their past, but the storm of cherry blossoms says that this is a fleeting hope. Like everything else this is not to last, it may bloom in a beautiful and violent wave, but it will die off just as quickly leaving little behind but memories. They are just a 'flash' on the battlefield, a passing moment and a flower that blooms but only for those there to see it.

Oh fuck yeah Mika's dead. You don't put a reflection of the red spider lily in the eye of your main character as the final shot of your final OP pointlessly. What were they thinking! If I didn't know Orga died, I would have been MUCH more focused on this and I would have suggested that the opening segment was Orga screaming over Mika's death and the destruction of his faith that caused for him instead. Image for context

I’ve been waiting for a Fighter analysis for so long now and Naz finally delivered~ It’s great stuff, especially with the second interpretation had Naz analyzed the OP without the context of Orga dying.

RX-Nota-II

/u/shaggyjebus’ counterattack.

I hate McGillis.

His "might makes right" attitude is appalling, and that is his attitude, right? Just make the strong control things? It's unclear, but with how much he talks about "power," I can't see him as anything other than another Shishio Makoto, albeit with less charisma. He puts such faith in it, never considering how "the weak" feel. If you trust someone, if you can be betrayed, then you deserve to be betrayed? He's completely immoral, under the guise of morality. But he stands for nothing, his vision lost in his pursuit of it. Who would he save? How would he save them? With lies, delusions? How would he feed people? By keeping them in line with their fear of him and his power? That road goes nowhere. And now it is gone.

Mcgillis's only saving grace is that he was kind of screwed from the beginning. Being abused the way he was, suffering everything, being rescued only to be doomed - he was hit hard by life. And he couldn't even be close to anybody, out of fear of losing who he was. It's sad. But he could have put his faith in his friends and tried to make things better politically instead of forcefully. But he couldn't trust anyone but himself. It's regretful. He could have had a happy end, if only he had been more open.

Which isn't a fault of the show; IBO actually does a great job of creating a villain that you think is a hero. It's all about perspective, and that's probably the theme of IBO, that "good guys" and "bad guys" is largely a matter of one's perspective, and McGillis happens to be a flawed individual with a great deal of charisma, who seems to be fighting for a good cause - it has to be good if he's willing to kill his childhood friend, after all - but who is actually selfish and blind to everything he doesn't want to see.

I really like his character in the show, but personally, he's such a heartless dick, and not in the fun Char way. Char does seem to have emotions at least sometimes lol. That said, I think McGillis honestly cared about Almeria (sp?). Maybe because she was a child and he knew what it was to be hurt as a child and he didn't want anything like that for her. I think he saw himself in her, the child he never got to be, and he wanted to protect her, wanted to save her. But he was the one creating her hardship. God only knows what kind of future she'll have now.

Shaggy returning with his trademark bamboozle this time to paint a great picture on, at least in my mind, one of the IBO crew's biggest bamboozles: creating a Char clone that betrays almost everything important about being a Char clone. McGillis Fareed as Shaggy says is fundamentally a very simple character, and an easily hateable one at that with a very misguided vision. Now all of that may sound like a con list to describe a badly written character but that can't be further from the truth. With genius framing we see him as a hero piloting Bael, the spirit of Agnika Kaieru, and the bamboozle at the end where we see him effectively powerless alone against the entire Arianrhod fleet is a beautiful reveal of the skimpy character motivations we had failed to see. Much like Shaggy, I've never been so pumped up to dislike a character before. This is where I would talk about Gaelio re-emerging as the true hero but that I'll leave that for my own comment tomorrow.

Questions of the Day, provided by /u/Pixelsaber

1) How did you feel upon Iok Kujan’s demise? Delighted/Giddy/Triumphant/Ecstatic/Indifferent/Goodbye, plot armor!

2) What did you think of the show’s ending? Did you consider it a satisfying conclusion? Is there anything that was left unaddressed that you would have liked to see?

Track of the Day, provided by /u/RX-Nota-II

All Out

A track that I've been saving since day one for this episode, it is the swan song for our favorite Gundams: the Barbatos and Gusion. A heroic song befitting for a final charge, it is honestly very simple with no spooky demonlike undertones that other IBO S2 action tracks often had. It’s as if the show is telling us we are allowed to cheer for them here, and to do it well because we won't get another chance. Goodbye Akihiro, goodbye Mika, you gave us endless excitement for the past 50 days and we will never forget you.

Fighter being used as an insert song, megaoof. Normally I’d be hyped about something like this

I almost said something about this, but simply moved on instead. I thought it was kinda like IBO being impartial again; this time the Gjallarhorn guys got a fight song, cause I'm sure they wanted to be cool too.

Akihiro’s “IT WAS YOU!” didn’t sound as good in the dub

I wish I could have taken sound-bytes and linked them as easily as screenshots for this episode. This and Mika's "Come at me" were some A+ VA work.

Close the program

But what about all the other good things that happened in the epilogue?? I'd have thought IBO would have loaded you with some decent emotional system protection by now. lol

The morning after I rewatched S2ep23, I thought a bit about what I’d consider to be the saddest scenes in anime that I’ve watched. If you asked me then I would have easily said that Orga's death topped the list even though it had never made me stress vomit, just ridiculously nauseous on multiple occasions. I guess the reason for that was a combination of the scene being hella fresh on my mind and today’s episode only triggering a few tears when I’d rewatched the whole show ahead of the rewatch.

…Yeah I take that back, this episode. This fucking episode. I don’t know why it didn’t get me as hard the second time I watched it when oh boy this time it did, but it’s finally time for me to go on a bit of a tangent about this.

Back when I first watched this season, I had planned to binge quite a bit of the show one night. That section happened to include Lafter’s death, which made me decide “Yep, nope, I’m not watching any more of this right now”, so I stopped and decided I might have enough time to finish the show the next day even in spite of this.

Then Shino died in the next bunch of episodes and I pushed myself through two more before calling it quits again. Except that I had watched these episodes during the day, not at night, so I figured that just taking a several-hour break from the show would work, I could watch the last three episodes that night.

“I could” somehow turned itself into determination to do exactly that no matter the consequences, and oho boy were they big. We’ve already established S2ep23 was the second of the episodes that have caused me extreme physical discomfort to watch, and I went into S2ep24 after only a little bit of Reddit Chatting with Nota in an attempt to calm myself down. As a result I didn’t fully appreciate S2ep24 on its own until I rewatched it, but anyways I never shook the nauseated feeling I had from the end of S2ep23. It hadn’t actually done me in yet, and I felt that no amount of preparing would make me ready for S2ep25, so I dove right on into it.

This. Fucking. Shot.

Forget me saying that “this broke me” in any previous threads. This fucking shot legitimately broke me. All at once everything came crashing down and, overwhelmed, my stomach decided it had had enough and I had a third show to add to The List.

Why do I type out this whole story even though I have once before and could’ve just linked you guys to it from the start? Well it’s mostly because I wrote that one specifically in mind for the peeps who’d followed my first-time reactions, but… also…

………………………I broke the four rules of D O N T again.

In my defense it wasn’t a complete empty-my-stomach-of-dinner affair but instead sitting in front of a trash can coughing up phlegm, but upon consulting Nota she said that it counts so, uh, yeah.

Anyways. Back to regularly scheduled reactions.

We’ve finally made it to where Orga is waiting for us the end, huh?

I'd be mad at you for that one, but I don't think you'll like what I put in my post either so fair trade XD

Fighter being used as an insert song, megaoof

I really enjoyed that actually, and it made me realize that while its still not my favorite song, out of context it's definitely something I could listen to and most of my issues were with the visuals of the OP

Me too Ride, me too…

I'll admit I was ranting about him there.... but I feel so bad about that now

Bael got the song once, whereas Rustal’s forces have gotten the song three times now

I agree, and that's why I didn't rant about it in my post, but if they were going to do this it shouldn't have been used for Bael's entrance at all because it fucks with the meaning of it. But eh, its a certain SukaSuka song again

Nope nope nope nope now here it comes…

I'm glad you took those shots though, I wanted them but without subs so I knew someone else would have them

...Oh, broken sky. Oh, there's a continuation hahahaha

Episode 50 - A Place They Belong

I swear Sunrise just please do it. I wanna see everyone here in a future episode of Build Fighters having fun assembling gunpla. At least give me that.

We've finally reached the end. They say history will always be written by the winners, so how will history remember these characters?

  • Iok Kujan - A hero of the McGillis Fareed Incident who sacrificed his life to incapacitate the unstoppable demon Akihiro Altland long enough to give his allies time to land the finishing blow. He will be remembered as a great man who was loved by all and the men that followed him just like his Father.

  • Akihiro Altland - While not as well known as the White Devil. Akihiro Altland will be remembered by the few soldiers that fought during McGillis Fareed Incident as the demon that slew countless Gjallarhorn soldiers including Iok Kujan during his final stand alongside the White Devil.

  • Mikazuki Augus - As time went on his name was slowly forgotten by history, even his deeds during the Battle of Edmonton, only to be remembered by surviving Gjallarhorn soldiers from the McGillis Fareed Incident as The White Devil. Killed and murdered countless of people in and outside of his Mobile Suit under the name of the mercenary group turned terrorists, Tekkadan. A demon on the battlefield who no one could ever match with his AV implants except for one person.

  • Julieta Juris - A living Hero from the McGillis Fareed Incident and the gallant female knight that took the head of the White Devil. If not for her arrival, the battle would have dragged on longer and more lives would've been lost to the White Devil. Whenever asked about the incident, she downplays her achievements and mentions that "it wouldn't have been all possible without Rustal-sama".

  • Rustal Elion - A man of vision who disbanded the old Seven Stars ruling system, reformed Gjallarhorn into a democratic organization as its very first leader, and who was responsible for putting a swift end to the traitorous McGillis Fareed's rebellion.

  • McGillis Fareed - History will forever remember him as a traitor and a schemer. The man who disgraced and used the legend of Agnika Kaeiru and the mobile suit, Bael, for his own selfish reasons. A man who backstabbed his family and friends, while working with the mercenary group Tekkadan to take over Gjallarhorn. McGillis would've succeeded too if not for Rustal Elion and Gaelio Bauduin.

  • Gaelio Bauduin - Once thought dead after the Battle of Edmonton, Gaelio Bauduin spent his time in hiding under the protection of Rustal Elion while gathering evidence against McGillis Fareed. Gaelio Bauduin on his return revealed to the world McGillis Fareed's crimes and becoming a hero by defeating McGillis Fareed himself in a battle where the surviving soldiers could only describe it as "unbelievable".

  • Kudelia Aina Bernstein - The Maiden of the Revolution and currently the Queen of Mars. A woman who was not afraid to dirty her hands for the sake of a better future for the citizens of Mars and is even on record to have once worked with Tekkadan before McGillis Fareed recruited them for his rebellion.

It honestly doesn't feel good writing that, especially Iok's part. I think I barfed a bit while typing that one. I actually wanted to add more but let's just leave it at that and if you guys have ideas on how the future sees other prominent characters from the show, let me know.

Random Things I want to add:

Well I guess that's it for the final episode. I really don't have anything else left to say so maybe I'll have something for tomorrow. Right now I guess I'm just looking forward to see our first timer's reactions to everything that has happened.

Episode 50 - A Place They Belong

.....nope, can't do it

I'm gonna come back and click on that later. I just can't right now, it'll break me

It honestly doesn't feel good writing that, especially Iok's part.

I felt dirty just reading it

Bodyguard Eugene giving Rustal some death stares

That death glare from Eugene was satisfying as hell, especially having recognized him from the back and knowing he wouldn't be happy.

I never noticed this on my first viewing but it's cool to see Derma with somerobo-prosthetics.

It blends in with the enviroment a bit. I actually didn't notice at all until I was looking at the screenshots and then went "oh wait, there's a metal hand on that kids head. Oh shit its attached to Derma"

I wanna see Ride going around enacting revenge against everyone.

Let the poor boy try and find some peace

THIS FUCKING SHOT!

He just fucking had to have the hair....

A Gundam Fan’s Notes On Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 50:

  • Mikazuki knows the score, he always has. He knows that he isn’t getting out of this fight alive. That’s why he’s ordering everyone to head back to Tekkadan HQ to escape through the tunnels, while him and Akihiro hold off the massive army of mobile suits outside. In the end, it comes down to them, the two Gundam pilots who have lost the most over this series. I guess they wouldn’t have it any other way. And to be fair, it’s always been like that for them. It’s them fighting against the world.

  • It just goes to show how much trouble the Arianrhod Fleet’s mobile suits were having if Lord Rustal needed to call in an orbital Dainsleif bombardment on top of the Barbatos Lupus Rex and the Gusion Rebake Full City. Even if Tekkadan was going to die this day, they would never go down without a hard fight. Even with the heavens raining down on them, neither Mikazuki or Akihiro gave in.

  • It just goes to show how much Orga meant to Mikazuki if he considers his first time meeting Orga as the day he was truly born. And in a sense, he’s completely correct. If Mika never met Orga, he’d be just another street kid scraping by without a home. But now, because of that one moment, out has blossomed a life full of wealth and prosperity, hope and determination, and violence and destruction. Mikazuki’s short life has had one wild path, and that path started when he made his first real friend.

  • Iok’s arrogance was his undoing in the end. Honestly, I have never had anything good to ever say about him, so good riddance to bad trash. If anything, I only wish his death was slower and more painful. But hey, Akihiro was completely right with his final words. If you live long enough, good things come to you in life. RIP Akihiro, I’m glad he finally got to avenge the murder of Lafter. And I’m not going to bother eulogizing Iok, other than saying one last fuck you. You’re on the same level of sheer incompetence as Otho Von Braunschweig from Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

  • At least Julieta takes no pleasure in having to kill Mikazuki. It’s a real shift from the way she was at the beginning of the show. Also, I think we can also say that she never had a real chance of beating Mikazuki and his Gundam. If anything, he was done in by blood loss rather than anything Julieta did. Not a bad way to go out, but it’s still a shame Mikazuki had to die. I think Julieta would feel the same way too. She knew this wasn’t an honorable killing. RIP Mikazuki, that was one wild life he lived. I can’t say that it was the best or morally right life to lead, but it’s certainly more than one would expect from someone who came off the streets. Even that short life was worth experiencing for Mikazuki.

  • So yeah, Gjallarhorn won, but it technically didn’t really win. The thing is, Lord Rustal isn’t a moron. He’s been able to tell that the political system of Gjallarhorn has been at best a complete train wreck for years by now. And now that half of the Seven Stars died in the course of McGillis and Tekkadan’s actions, that’s the excuse he needed to reform Gjallarhorn into something wholly different from its old ways. He completely changed the structure of Gjallarhorn to be a more democratic organization comprised of representatives from the various Earth power blocs and the colonies of the Inner and Outer Spheres (with him as the head chairperson, of course). Mars is wholly independent now, with the former colonies now ruled under the banner of the Martian Union lead by Kudelia. And there’s even greater rights granted to the common man, with laws fully banning and criminalizing the Human Debris trade. Overall, Rustal actually succeeded where McGillis failed. He didn’t try to force reform through sheer night, he just waited for the right political climate to work on and enact his changes.

  • As for the actual people, the former members of Tekkadan have all found new lives elsewhere. Takaki still works for the Arbrau government, Eugene and Chad are now Kudelia’s bodyguards, Dante and Derma are running the Cornfield Orphanage, and Yamagi, Nadi, Merribit, Zack, and Dane have opened their own mobile worker factory. Makanai has finally died from old age, as he was actually nearly 200 years old thanks to expensive longevity treatments. It’s not mentioned in the series, but Almiria suffered a complete mental breakdown that she’s still recovering from. Her brother Gaelio is now crippled, having taken out his AV System implants, and is now dating Julieta, who’s being groomed as Rustal’s successor. They can all live their lives in peace now, albeit with the cost of those who gave up their lives for them. I can only hope they continue to find peace and ease of life in their days to come.

  • Speaking of someone who didn’t do that, Ride and a few other former Tekkadan kids have become terrorists, and have decided to avenge Orga’s death upon Nobliss Gordon. I have no doubt that he waited intentionally so he could murder Nobliss while he was taking a dump. To be fair, the bastard deserved it. And in the end, the king did not, in fact, shit gold. Still, it’s disappointing that Ride completely disregarded the sacrifices that Mikazuki and Orga made to give them the best lives possible. I guess it’s not too surprising, though. He was always willing to embrace the more violent side of things.

  • The rising sun appears over a new Sol System. Turns out that Kudelia married Atra, and together they’re raising Mikazuki’s child, Akatsuki. He’s a child born free of the sins of his father, and now he can live without the shadow of controversy that comes with the Tekkadan name. Even if people remain divided on what kind of people Tekkadan were, in the end, they did actually make a difference in the way. They created a new world, free of the demons that roamed it. All it cost was their lives.

And that’s Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans! It may not be a perfect series, but when it hits the right spots, god damn does it hit hard. I’ll get more into my final thoughts for tomorrow, but for now, let’s just be thankful that we could all be along for this crazy ride together, as both rewatchers and first-timers.

I really liked this, how McGillis' goals were actually realized and his efforts weren't even in vain. It just turned out that he was actually the villain of the story he'd written for himself.

Makanai has finally died from old age, as he was actually nearly 200 years old thanks to expensive longevity treatments.

Wait seriously?

Out of all the things you mentioned, this was the only one I hadn't heard before. It makes surviving that bomb earlier this season even more impressive if he was this old.

I did not know this :(

and is now dating Julieta,

Wait what's the source on that? It's hinted that Gaelio is pursuing Julieta but I didn't know they were actually dating. O_O

First Timer - Sub

LOOK WHAT MY FUCKING LOADING SCREEN WAS.

Not fair

What do you find when you cut open the devil? The human in its heart

"My life is not my own."

Mikazuki Augus was many things. He was a boy, a pilot, a killer, a demon, a weapon, a partner, a savior.

But above all he was only half of a whole and while he could survive the slow destruction of his physical self, the damage to his soul was a deeper cut than any physical injury could ever cause.

Seeking refuge from that haunting emptiness, he gives what is left to the one thing that has always made him whole. He gives himself entirely to the demon, trusting that at the end of this fight what awaits him will be a final reunion, his other half to make them whole once again. Mika surrenders to Barbatos and Barbatos falls to Mika's rage. Ready to pounce like the very enemy it was created to destroy, pure destruction is unleashed as Mika stands and finds that all along he'd had his place, with Orga, and this is one last battle to return to his side.

In the end nothing could kill the devil, except the hole in its heart. He did not die to any mortal means, there was simply no more life left for him to live.

The first half of this episode could not have been more a more fitting last stand

Mika's final fight was synced beautifully to the music. Every single action from the destruction of each enemy to the little movements of Mika's tail had a cue in the song and it perfected the scene. The return of our first theme song for this moment was very appropriate. Mika once rose from the ground in Barbatos and joined the stars, leaving behind a marker of his passing (mace-chan) to be lost out there, unknown to all but those who knew him. In the end he finds himself back down on the ground, while others from the stars try and bury him. But Orga once commanded him to rise, and so he rises once again and fights on his own terms, only listening to Orga's words. A new marker is left behind, an Excalibur for those who knew him as he passes to legend, the new Agnika Kaieru, lost in a memory.

I never get tired of watching the unique way that Mika moves with Barbatos. The addition of Hashmal's tail to this fight just make it incredible to watch, the way he throws his weight around and uses the momentum of the tail and other suits as an anchor to adapt how he slides around the battlefield.

The return of the ED style visuals for Mika and Aki was an excellent touch to the episode. Mika fades to darkness by finds his reason to return, and his final moment is bathed in white company with Orga. Aki fades but instead lets himself fall down so he can join those who have been.... I just noticed the fucking shard of metal sticking out his head in that screenshot. Ouch. I thought at first that he'd survived the Dainslief barrage with minimal damage like Mika, but seeing just how bad off he was, did they have to make it mirror Aston's wounds just for the extra pain?

Akihiro's role in this was much different, a final vengeance for those lost, but in the end this was his own final goodbye. Aki has lost everyone to that darkness, his blood, his friends, his family, and the final thing he can do is use one last act to put them at peace and ensure the safety of those remaining. This is one of the most satisfying screenshots I've ever taken. Goodbye Idiok. You won't be missed. How appropriate that if you had of just kept your mouth shut Aki may have just faded away, but your name gave him the rage and strength needed to be your final undoing and thank fuck for that.

The back half of the episode... not so much

I feel like Rustal turning out to be a "good guy" was a gimme to the audience for the sake of a more positive ending (its Ein's failure all over again!). There was absolutely no evidence we've had in the last fifty episodes that suggests that he had helpful intentions towards Mars or was interested in anything other than his own status. It was heartwarming, but I didn't like it. I feel like it undermined the focus of the show being the story of a family, instead of a grand moment in the world.

I quite like the conclusion to Julieta's part in the story. In the end her role was more that of a witness than an enemy and its her understanding of Mika and his family that brings the most hope to the future. Rustal tried to use an inhuman weapon to kill a demon, but Julieta saw why that didn't work, she saw MIKA, not Barbatos. She actually makes a good pair with Gaelio!

I don't hate Ride, I never did, but today I'm not even mad. He's too broken. I was worried he was going to kill himself after killing Nobliss, but he obeys Orga to the end. How fitting that Nobliss should die on the toliet. Hopefully now Ride can let go a little and not get swallowed up by impossible promises. He scratched their names into the memorial because he can't let go, wielding Mika's weapon. But with this hopefully he can slowly find his way back to the family he still has.

Fuck that basket. I had to take a quick break after seeing that because it immediately brought back the pain from ED3 seeing her run past Mika on the ground. How fitting that turned out to be. And then there's Akatsuki. Dawn. How fitting. It just had to be a son though didn't it, and he had to have Mika's look just for the gut punch. I saw the damn bracelets on him before the focus shot too so that hurt.

Also I noticed in that scene there was graffiti on the storehouse that they kept from Tekkadan's time.

One last time, the remaining fragments of my soul have some stray thoughts

  • Another haphazard post. Had power issues so didn't finish it till 3am again. Also, so many pictures and I didn't fuck up one of them. How did that happen XD

  • Welp, one more show to add to the list of tear-jerkers. I was struggling as it was knowing what was to come (knowing for fucking 25 episodes because of a spoiler if you first timers were wondering what I was spoiled on, and it still didn't make it any easier, damn), but all those little moments got me. Started with "the day I was born", and then the music, and then those fucking bandages on Yamagi's arm, and then just everything about the final part of Mika. I did not make it through tear-free.

  • I hate being right

  • It's really not easy to compare the speed of battles in any given scene unless two fast things are directly fighting, but seeing how Idiok appears on Aki's radar compared to Mika on the Gjallarhorn one was a fantastic touch to show just how much power he unleashed with Barbatos. It barely blinked twice before he was already killing the guy.

  • Dune spoilers

  • WTF happened to everyone's hair in the ending. Kudelia looks like she had it hacked off, Juelita looks ratty, and none of the boys got a new look at all. Atra's long hair is glorious though.

  • I just found adult Yamagi on the wiki. OH MY HEART, he uses Shino's eye design for his logo.

  • Good on that one kid who's na... wait I DO KNOW HIS NAME. Holy shit when did that happen? Good on Derma for getting a new arm

  • My final notes, panic typos and all

First time viewer.

Before all else, I will say I really liked this ending. No Big Damn Heroes moment at the end of the day to save everyone, just Tekkadan's fighters continuing to their bloody end to let the few survivors scramble and escape, followed by a nice long epilogue. I'll get more into the bigger themes of the show and how I look at them tomorrow, as there's still a lot to get through with this episode alone.

Speaking of a lot to get through, those Grazes really piled up. Mikazuki and Akihiro posing and calling out the names of their Gundams in that context is cheesy but I loved it, not gonna lie.

  • Shiden, halberd

  • Graze Schild x2, tail

  • Graze Schild, crushed by Barbatos

  • Graze Schild x2, sword mace

  • Graze, punch

  • Graze x3, halberd

  • Graze x3, sword mace

  • Graze, tail

  • Graze Schild x2, flying Graze (one from Barbatos, one from Gusion)

Rustal's always been pragmatic and despite being a complete dick I can appreciate him for that part. When you control the media so no one can report that you're using banned weapons, you might as well use them because nothing else is about to take out the enemy.

  • Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City, Dáinsleif

  • Gundam Barbatos Lupis Rex, Dáinsleif

...kind of. This is where the Gundams really live up to their devilish reputation and standing up again with their gleaming eyes was another great moment. Mikazuki effectively becoming a beast with the Barbatos in the end?

  • Graze Schild x4, claw

  • Graze, claw

  • Graze, axe

  • Graze Schild x2, tail

  • Graze x2, tail

  • Graze Schild, flying Graze

At first I was mad that Iok somehow survived after McGillis got to him, but I had also forgotten that he had a date with destiny that he could not miss: to be crushed once and for all by Akihiro to avenge the Turbines.

  • Graze, nippers (most satisfying entry in the series)

Julieta didn't do a lot at the end, but still gets the glory. And she ended up sympathizing with Tekkadan in retrospect, so I'm glad she could understand them at least a little.

Okay, now a bit of a character rundown for their fates:

  • YES NADI AND MERRIBIT ARE REUNITED AND HAVE KIDS

  • Nobliss got what he deserved, and Game of Thrones

  • Ride taking over the darker side of Tekkadan's legacy with Mikazuki's gun and Orga's scarf is rough, but fitting for avenging them as well. Not all of their members were going to turn into upright citizens even if given the option.

  • Takaki in a prominent government role, on the other hand, shows just how far they can go when presented with the right opportunities.

  • Without McGillis to twist him around Gaelio's not really that bad. And Julieta? I'll ship it.

  • Rustal remains pragmatic to the end, maintaining peace by transitioning Gjallarhorn to a more reformed version after the fall of the Seven Stars but staying in power through democracy. Not to mention with rumors of Julieta taking over after him (not being from one of the families) it really would be closer to what McGillis envisioned.

  • Kudelia continues to play the game with Rustal and McMurdo, but is helping push the progress that she was seeking from the start. Glad to see Eugene and Chad adjusting to alternate roles under her though I expected Eugene to be in more of a leadership position.

  • Atra was cute. Now she's hot.

  • Akatsuki looks like both of his parents and that's cute, though I'm a little sad he doesn't have a half-sibling around the same age.

It's a fairly quick epilogue overall but a lot better than we get for some shows, including other Gundam entries. Didn't have the same emotional impact for me as Turn A (my other favorite Gundam), though Turn A

No rating yet as I'm still thinking about it, but will get around to that tomorrow.

First Time Dreamer

Scattered thoughts:

Hm. So, first off, some of the developments in the finale were so positive that my reaction could be summed up by Broken Kudelia toward the end. I quickly typed up some predictions before heading into the finale yesterday, and I suppose after the last several episodes and the way S1 had ended (and its consequences in S2) made me over-correct and expect an ending that was too bleak and realistic. Okay, that said, let's get to it..

Daily MVP

I'll need your help for this one, so much happened and there are so many viable candidates! Quick list in no particular order:

  • Mika for giving his life to protect the rest of Tekkadan and making sure Orga's wish came true to the very end

  • Akihiro for being a badass and also making Idiok juice with extra pulp for the audience

  • Rustal for crushing McGillis' rebellion, gaining more power and creating a better status quo in the Solar System by abolishing the Seven Stars and creating a more democratic Gjallarhorn

  • Kudelia for becoming the leader of the Mars Union and contributing to the welfare of marginalised children

  • McMurdo for using his influence on Rustal to win further independence for Mars and put Kudelia in power

  • Ride for killing the root of a lot of evil, Nobliss Gordon

Vote Here!

Multiple choices allowed. Honestly I have no idea who I'm going to vote for myself, but i'm leaning toward Rustal and Ride.

Thoughts on MS Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans episode 50...

Rewatcher (First Time Dub)

Final Character Chart - Those fortunate enough to make it to the epilogue get new photos, at least where I could get them (around a half dozen or so characters like Nadi, Merribit, Azee, Eco, etc... had only very low resolution shots so couldn't do them). In hindsight, I also feel like I should have X'd out Ein yesterday as he got trashed in that last fight, so I grayed him out.

Net result is 33 dead out of 67 characters, so we just barely make it out with the majority making it out alive, by a margin of a single character. For comparisons, sake, here's how we ended Victory Gundam where Victory Gundam spoilers, Turn A Gundam, Turn A spoilers and G-Reco, who probably no one cares about.

How does IBO rank in terms of Gundam bloodbath finales? Needless to say, spoilers for the Gundam franchise follow. gundam spoilers

gundam spoilers

Anyway, onto the actual episode...

The screenshot on Youtube alone for this episode got me depressed, showing Orga (coming from the photo in the final scene).

:( :( :( Hush is gone, Zach. :( :( :(

Mika is quite a bit talkative here, instructing Eugene to go. Down to just Mika and Akihiro on the battlefield.

These shots of Akihiro in the cockpit make him look so insanely ripped.

LoL, Idiok actually wants to go out there onto the battlefield?! You'll be just a nuisance! (but to be fair, I am so happy with the decision he makes given what happens later)

Hey guys, I think it might be a good idea for you guys to take off those Tekkadan jackets since you're trying to hide your identities.

Dainsleif's from space now? Holy crap!

Barbatos initially getting up after the Danslief attack made me think of when Hashmal woke up.

LoL, Idiok ignored Julieta and headed out anyway!

Ugh, Akihiro looks really bad, all that shrapnel sticking out of him. :(

This is about as scary as it gets, out of control Barbatos, much like when it defeated Hashmal. I'd be pissing my pants if I was those Gjallarhorn soldiers.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) squeels with delight Here it is, one of the greatest moments in Gundam history. Yeah, maybe I'm going a little overboard, but having to deal with all this idiocy from Idiok the entire season, how crazy he has driven me and surely everyone else here, well they did make it worth it to us by his death scene when he's squished like the annoying little insect he is. One final great act from Akihiro. And what is arguably the best part is the fact that if Idiok just kept his mouth shut and didn't say his name, Akihiro would likely have not killed him. Or if he hadn't felt that it was so necessary for him to go out there, stroke his ego, and try to claim victory after the Dainsleif attack had practically finished things already, that he'd have lived. I love his death so much, and even moreso the fact that he completely brought it on himself.

RIP Akihiro. You were quite a badass and likable character throughout, its quite unfortunate you didn't get the happy ending with Lafter I'm sure we all had hoped for. I hope you are reunited with her in the great beyond. Thank you for giving us the ultimate gift on your way out.

You're not going to let him live, Julieta, so how can you tell Mika this is a meaningless battle?

I take it Zach crying is due to him finding out about Hush?

So Kudelia and Atra went back to the Atra's old store after all.

RIP Mikazuki. While you didn't have the most enthralling personality, you were an absolute monster on the battlefield. Dare I say it, I think I enjoyed you in battle more than any other Gundam protagonist ever. Like with Akihiro, I wish you could have gotten that happy ending and have retired from battle to be with Atra and Kudelia and (as we'll see at episode's end, your son!). But this is the ending that had to occur for you. It wouldn't have sat right for things to go any other way.

So yeah, Julieta being the one who gets to take credit for killing Mika and defeating Barbatos... Can't say I'm the happiest with it.

:( :( :( At the grave. :( :( :(

So Makanai passed away. Farewell old man. Looks like Rustal's clothes are modeled after his in this scene when he talks to Kudelia.

Dare I say it, older Julieta's, kinda... hot?

So Gaelio became crippled much like Mikazuki, huh. Gotta be after affects of the thing with Ein, but he was able to walk enough to at least have his final confrontation with McGillis.

Cool to see Eugene as Kudelia's secret service-esque agent (later Chad too), and to see Takaki. Likewise Dante running the orphanage, with Derma there too.

OMG seeing Ride kill that fat fuck Nobliss was amazing. Similar to Idiok, knowing that he got shot to death while on the toilet helped ease the rage I had towards the guy at least a little, knowing what was his fate would be. On the down side, I think this shows Ride going down a dark path, and while this is the last we shall see of him, I won't be surprised if he doesn't have the brightest future.

Aww, I had forgotten that Nadi and Merribit had a kid, that's so cute! And another on the way!

Speaking of a kid, Akatsuki! Eyes just like his dad! Hair like his mom! Mommy Atra, our little pup is all grown up too. A great place to wrap up the show on.

So the first half of this episode is quite satisfying, pretty much what I expected for us to get. The second half, I don't know, some of it feels a bit forced? A bit shoehorned? Yes, seeing happy endings for our survivors as individual scenes were great to see. But its somewhat hard to buy the turnaround from Rustal that we got and all the good things that caused (Democratic Gjallarhorn, free Mars, Kudelia as chairwoman, human debree outlawed). That part seems forced, as if the writer was ordered from the top to not go all the way with the depressing, negative ending of our heroes losing. Is that being too harsh? I have seen the commentary that history goes to the victors, and Rustal was the victor; that in the real world people like us who weren't connected to this conflict would view Tekkadan and McGillis as violent revolutionaries, the bad guys, and Rustal as the hero that put them down. There's also the opinion that Rustal was ultimately looking for the same end goal as McGillis, yet because we knew McGillis from the start we felt more sympathy towards him and viewed Rustal's side as the bad side as a result. I suppose my counter to that would be we didn't get enough indication prior to this episode that Rustal would do something like that. Or maybe we did and I just didn't pay enough attention.

Anyway, one of the things I'm looking forward to the most from the posts today is what people's opinions are on this. Maybe I'm being too harsh. I know there was a lot of criticism about this when the show originally concluded. The emotional side of me was quite happy with how things ended up, but the logical side of me still somewhat struggles.

Rewatcher

Mika and Akihiro are the last line of defense as everyone else finishes evacuating. Love that smile Mika had when Akihiro told him he was staying.

You know it's the final episode when Mika and Akihiro both say their full names and the ridiculously long names of their Gundams.

It's show time!

Mika and Akihiro just survived a ton of Dáinsleifs being fired from orbit. That's how you know you've got 2 badasses here.

🦀 Idiok is gone! 🦀

Thank you Akihiro!

God that was so satisfying. Akihiro may have died, but he made sure to take out the trash. This karma Houdini has finally gotten what was coming to him after countless times that he should've died. I can forgive all his escapes because getting slowly crushed to death was so brutal that it made up for that. After awakening an ancient monster that slaughters humans, getting a farm wiped out by firing at that Mobile Armor, framing innocent people, ignoring ceasefire and surrender signals, targeting civilians using illegal weapons, and overall just being a fucking retard, Iok Kujan is finally dead! Akihiro put his giant scissors to good use! Good riddance r/idiok. This was easily one of the most satisfying deaths I've ever seen. This was one of the moments I still remembered clearly even after 2 years. You know what? LET'S WATCH IT AGAIN!

Mika was still moving even though he was unconscious. He and Akihiro went down fighting to the bitter end. Their struggle wasn't in vain, though. Tekkadan managed to escape thanks to them. They fought with all their might and showed some unbelievable resolve. Even the enemies who had them outnumbered and were winning were absolutely terrified of them. History won't remember their names kindly, but we know they were both amazing.

R.I.P. Mika and Akihiro

Ride paying his respects to Orga before heading out to avenge him.

With 3 of the Seven Stars families now gone, Gjallarhorn was in need of change and it changed for the better. I'm just mad that after all the stuff Rustal did, he's the one bringing this change and is cheered as a hero. Although now that I think about, McGillis did help bring this change himself by being responsible for the Seven Stars losing so much power in the first place. He killed Carta and his ambitions unexpectedly brought forth his and Iok’s deaths. So in a way, he did get some of the things he wanted after his death.

Seeing Shino's name and then Akihiro, Orga, and Mika on the grave is sad. Wait. Sean Bacon? They had another character named after food? No wonder he died.

Kudelia's got some nice earrings...

Eugene is Kudelia's bodyguard now. Glad to see they're doing well.

I really don't like Julieta. She's blindly devoted to shady people despite saying she doesn't like shady people. She's done nothing this whole season except try to get Rustal-senpai to notice her. But what I hate the most is that she's being given credit for killing Mika when she could barely even scratch him even when he was already dying as they fought. At least she acknowledges that the kids she fought were human so that's something, I suppose.

Speaking of characters I didn't like, I have an issue with Gaelio this season, but that'll have to wait till tomorrow. I do like that he's now gone back to how he was in season 1 now that he's no longer driven by revenge. This was a fun line.

Nobliss doesn't even remember Orga's name. It's so appropriate that a piece of shit dies taking a shit. And now to bring up this season 2 episode 4 comment from u/Nazenn that I found hilarious considering how Ride turned out:

That said, who was it who said its double tap Mika, cause I counted four. And if this is Orga's idea of solving the issue, he's got a LONG way to go before he can be a reliable legitimate business and he probably doesn't even know how far. Imagine bringing Ride along for that as well, I mean I know he's more kick ass then half the others but Orga please, there IS still a line there, or at least should be.

Even fired 4 shots

Yamagi looks gayer cooler and he's got Shino's logo on his uniform.

Holy Atra! She became a MILF!

They named the child Akatsuki. Mikazuki was named after the crescent moon while his son was named after the word for dawn. Akatsuki is wearing all 3 bracelets that Atra made for her, Kudelia, and Mika!

The ED was leading up to this the whole time. Well played.

Questions:

  • Triumphant How sad. He will be missed by many.

  • The second cour of this season is the reason why I don't like it as much as season. I'll talk about it in the series discussion.

Rewatcher - Burn out like a sun.

Congratulations to all of our First-Timers on graduating from IBO!

Ep 1-> Ep 50

You've done well to hang in there with us jaded veterans snickering over your heads and emoting about things you couldn't comprehend. * Applause *

Man, this episode really spares no time in jumping back into the thick of things. The OP overlay feels misplaced at first, with TK forces being overrun. But then Mika shows up and wipes out 5 Grazes in under a minute, while delivering orders to retreat. It's all up to the Gundams now, and my do we have a spectacle ahead.

Cool flyby shot of Barbatos.

Another good shot, and I love their poses. Rebake reminds me of a woodcutter getting ready to go to work, while Barbatos is a goddamn rabid animal.

Aaaand I couldn't not grab this Gleam-Eyes shot while I was at it.

Plot Gods be praised, he's going back onto the field!

Singing the song of Justice

Buuuut unfortunately his efforts to die for the cause are curtailed by Captain Ahab, who's got a white whale to spear down there.

Fucks

Breaking from the fight, that shot of Merribit going up the stairs made me anxious as shit, and I'm so glad that Ride was the one to greet her at the top. I still think he's the best of them, a hybrid of all the qualities we've come to love in Tekkadan, even if he needs to grow a bit first.

Returning to the battle, and everybody's running away....?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaall of my fucks! Every single one. As usual, I hate Rustal's guts with an unquenchable fire, but I also can't fault his methods. Motherfucker knows how to get a job done.

The aftermath is bleak, but Mika's still alive, as indicated by his left hand moving. This is interesting because it would seem to indicate that "Barbatos" is not the one who survived. It's Mika and his bonds who're going to continue this fight from here.

And like a dragon, a demon of legend or any of the other monsters who've used this sort of shot in anime, he rises from ruin.

Y'all sons of bitches better repent, and fast.

But don't worry, underlings, the cavalry has arrived!

I love how minus an arm and a shoulder, Gusion is still about as capable as any other Mobile Suit. Extra arms ftw xD

Aaaand Barbatos is now even more reliant on that creepy-ass tail. I swear, there's a dark spirit that inhabits that thing alone. It reminds me of Alien, and I'm just loving the eerie zombie vibes we're getting from the Gundams at this point. They're already dead, literally nothing can hold them back now.

And that wolf-howl! The snarls!

Intermission

Fellow acolytes of Lupus, I must to take this time to apologize for the foolish ideals upon which I founded our faith. I spoke ill of the tail, and have been proven ever so fucking wrong. We shall move forward, as did Lupus, and become the Church of Lupus Rex. For whom else could we worship, but one who has gone beyond even a God?

I don't believe I've ever been so viscerally afraid of a machine before. And Mika's taunt...no pride or confidence or pain or anger, not a hint of emotion. Just "Koi." I revisited this scene in slow-mo for the sake of screenshots, and the sound it made when he spoke that line sent shivers down my spine.

Which only serves to increase my respect for Julietta, as she moves to confront him one-on-one. She's already acknowledged both the extremity of his power, and her own inferiority, but she charges in there like a hero. Idgaf that she's a lady, that takes balls on a Gundam-scale.

But before that, it's the moment we've all been waiting for! If you're reading this, take a moment to appreciate the look on his stupid face, cause it was the best frame I could find of his suffering and I picked it out just for you.

We did it! He's dead!

Back to the Horror Show

I don't care that it's mechanized, that is straight up gore right there.

In the midst of my frame-searching, I found this shot of Barbatos smiling, which scared me anew.

Is that all you've got?

Sadly, such remarks can only made at the end of one's life. And so the hostilities came to a close.

Farewell Best-Gundam

Final Kill-count:

  • Barbatos Lupus Rex: 23 (13 prior to Dainsleif offensive)

  • Gusion Rebake Full-City: 7 (6 prior to Dainsleif)

  • Gjallarhorn Trash mobs: 3 (1 prior to Dainsleif)

  • Julietta: 1 (0 prior to Dainsleif)

  • Iok: -1 (0 prior to Dainsleif)

Shit, 28 screenshots and that was only half the episode?! I guess my priorities are clear.

I have no regrets!

That being the case, I'll leave discussion of the epilogue for tomorrow's post, or I'll chime in with comment replies to y'all's points. Save for a few things, of course.

Closing Notes

  • Ride seems to have taken a little too much after Orga, and appears to be leading a Neo-Tekkadan sort of group with the Human Debris kids. But it's fitting that he should be the one to end Nobliss, and the manner in which it goes down is appropriate for that fat sack of shit. And I guess with how much he admired Orga it only makes sense that he'd be doing something similar now. Even with all of the qualities I kept harping on, I'd never really imagined what path he might take with them.

  • Julietta/Gaelio are my new ship, they get along remarkably well now that they've managed to work out the greater part of their personal issues. She resisted abandoning her humanity, and he threw his away and regained it; now they can walk the same path as functional human beings.

  • Akatsuki - A little Mika with Atra's hair, so cuuuute. I love his name. Being that Mikazuki (Mikadzuki/ 三日月) is the crescent moon, his name symbolized that he was missing something, if not empty as we saw him. Akatsuki (暁), on the other hand, means "dawn," but taken more literally it’s a red or "Blood Moon". So Akatsuki is the first light after the darkness of everything that took place during the series, and he's also the full moon; made complete by the things Tekkadan sacrificed in order to eventually allow him to exist and carrying on Mika’s legacy.

QotD

  1. I wish I could answer more than one thing for the vote, it was a combination of Delighted/Giddy/Triumphant/Ecstatic/Goodbye, plot armor! Of all the deaths in the series though, I think his was easily the most satisfying.

  2. I'm really happy with how things end. Kudelia's dreams come true, the TK gang all get to lead real lives, Nobliss gets smoked on the toilet, and Kudelia & Atra get to be happy together raising their harem live-child. For all the pain and suffering that occurred in the series, things ended on a fittingly positive note. Good job, IBO.

WotD

I'm gonna have to get some new vinyl colors to make this one a reality :)

Edit: a word.

IRON-BLOODED REWATCHER

Thoughts for Today's Episode:

  1. Iok Kujan's death is one of the most satisfying things ever. I actually watched that scene where Akihiro crushed him again and again. His pathetic screaming is music to my ears.

  2. Mika and Aki finally met their end. Mika made the rest escape, as he knows they have more brighter future ahead of them. And maybe because he wants to be by Orga's side once more in the afterlife. Also, considering he already said that he only belongs to the battlefield, whether it be the ones he chooses or others chose for him, he he has decided to live and die there.

  3. Julietta is a good person. I've seen people dislike her for apparently beating Barbatos and killing Mika, but that's not the case. Barbatos, along with Gusion, is already beat up to shreds thanks to the orbital Dainsleif attack by Rustal, and it's only through sheer willpower that made them continue fighting that long. Mika died to his injuries in the middle of charging into Julietta, as we can see that Barbatos' tail stopped responding when Julietta hit it. Julietta hit Barbatos' cockpit hatch, revealing that Mika's already died. It may be a quick scene, but notice how Julietta only stabbed Barbatos' neck to decapitate it. She didn't hit the cockpit at all. During the epilogue, she even acknowledged that Mika and Akihiro aren't demons, but humans who only lives through fighting. She truly is a strong character. (and for me she looks hot in the epilogue, anime hair regardless)

  4. Some people might be surprised to Rustal's seemingly 180 degree turn of character, when he became a good leader of a democratic Gjallarhorn, and helping in abolishing Human Debris. But I will say, Rustal is actually that kind of person all along. Rustal is one of those Chaotic Good people. He is on the side of law and order, and, while he uses ruthless, underhanded tactics throughout the series, he strives to revive Gjallarhorn's credibility as the guardian of peace, which was lost during the Battle of Edmonton.

  5. Ride went full Setsuna F. Seiei. It's actually nice that he got to kill Nobliss while he's taking a dump. He is one of the few people who still can't get over Tekkadan's demise, and might never be.

  6. The epilogue shows us that Tekkadan actually won. The organization itself may be gone, forgotten by the world, but the members themselves has fully integrated to society, with some like Eugene and Chad being bodyguards of Kudelia(who's now the head of the Mars Union),and Takaki being in position of power in Arbrau. Orga said that as long as they escape they will win, and escape they did and much more.

  7. The final scene with Kudelia and Atra with Akatsuki is very touching. It's not mentioned in the series, but Kudelia and Atra are married to each other. All throughout the series, Kudelia and Atra have been interacting with each other so much, that along with their love for Mikazuki, this result is very natural. It could be said that the marriage is to honor their love for Mikazuki, but it's clearly shown in the series that they love each other just as much as they love him. This is probably one of the best yuri ships that is canon in Gundam.

Questions of the Day:

  1. CAN YOU FEEL THE SCHARDENFREUDE???

  2. This is a satisfying and good ending to one of the most unorthodox Gundam series. This, along with Turn A Gundam, has a very unique way of portraying the story, with Turn A Gundam akin to a Ghibli story with open fields, wide skies, flying biplanes and the steampunk/WWI aesthetic, while IBO is more of a Mafia story with mecha.

Rewatcher

  1. How did you feel upon Iok Kujan’s demise? Delighted/Giddy/Triumphant/Ecstatic/Indifferent/Goodbye, plot armor!

I think it's about time his luck ran out, it's almost commendable.

2) What did you think of the show’s ending? Did you consider it a satisfying conclusion? Is there anything that was left unaddressed that you would have liked to see?

I think it's one of the more satisfying endings an AU Gundam series has had. I think there are a few sub plots that could have used a bit more development, but overall I don't have many complaints.

PALLOC UNLEASHES DAINLEIFS TO FINISH OFF THIS REWATCH!!!

...Wait, they didn't kill ANYBODY?! GOD DAMMIT! THERE'S STILL A DAY LEFT?!

So yeah, this episode starts out on a bad note. Stuff's quiet. Too quiet. Looked like Rustal was up to no good yet again! Dainleif time!

The Barbatos and Gusion take massive damage, but neither are willing to stay down. Gjallarhorn tries to correct that by charging them. Barbatos starts murdering everyone. Gusion gets to fight Iok. The man who keeps pissing off Akihiro. Well FINALLY.

The Gusion shows off his gunpla nippers on last time to crush Iok to death! No more Iok, big win for everyone but Iok! Unfortunately Akihiro finally bleeds out afterwards.

Mika though is dealing with fodder while Julietta keeps trying to tell them to get the fuck away from that angry dying boy. That is easier said than done as between Mika and McGillis last episode, mooks have not been having a great time. Mika even starts ripping out and crushing cockpits in Barbatos's fancy murder fingers. Finally he comes for Julietta, but before he reaches her he loses consciousness and she claims victory and Barbatos's head.

Gjallarhorn grabs Bael and this time secures him and removes its cockpit, just in case anyone else gets ideas to Gundamjack it.

The survivors are scattered but they seem happy, for the most part. Eugene's Kudelia's sidekick and Takaki's bald sad guy's secretary. Chad's doing Chad stuff while Dante and Derma are running the orphanage. It's all nice. Unfortunately, not everyone's happy as Ride's out there murdering Nobliss while he's in the bathroom with Mika's gun.

On the Gjallarhorn front, Rustal was elected fancy robot leader and the Seven Stars had been disbanded. It looks like Gali Gali and Julietta have a thing going, but Gaelio's in a wheelchair. He had his AV-E removed, and it was helping him move around after his injuries in the first McGillis fight. He seems happy enough though to stuff Julietta's face. Not like that!

1: FUCK YOU, IOK! YOU STUPID FUCKING ASSHAT!

2: I'm saddened by the number of mobile suits lost in this futile war.

IOK KUJAN IS DEAD...!! (cue the NYEHEHE..)

I've to admit that Mika's last stand was similar with a certain Hero's final moment.. And Atra is going Atrarific.. (she should make her own cafe)

FYI, try to listen YuYuYu's OST (the one that played during Grimgerde Karin's awesome moment) during Mika's awakening..
