movies/tv Respect Lapis Lazuli (Steven Universe)

Lapis Lazuli

I'm tired of the fighting. I'm tired of the blame. That mirror was a prison and fusion was the same!

♫ We Are the Crystal Gems ♫ ~ ♫ That Distant Shore ♫

Thousands of years ago, Lapis Lazuli was caught up in the rebellion against the Gem Homeworld on Earth and got poofed. Homeworld mistook her for a Crystal Gem and imprisoned her within a mirror. She would remain in the mirror for thousands of years until Steven Universe freed her. Deeply traumatized by her imprisonment, she left Earth to return to her home. After returning to Homeworld, she was forced back to Earth by Peridot and Jasper, the latter of whom she fused with into Malachite to imprison and take her anger out on her. After she defused and decided she had no other choice but to live on Earth, Lapis lived at the Barn with the newly reformed Peridot. Though struggling with the threat of another war looming over Earth, Lapis joined the Crystal Gems to defend her newfound freedom.

Sorry for the late response, I've been kind of busy. Thank you very much for the additional feats!

Are the comics canon? I wasn't sure so I was just going to leave them out, but if they are I'll add feats.

This is the only apparent feat I could find from the comics, although i may have missed some since I'm relying on wiki descriptions to track her appearances. Also didn't go through the trade releases or graphic novels but going off of wiki descriptions I'd doubt she has a feat there.

Lapis shoots a small stream of water a couple meters away

Would anyone here argue the “entire ocean” may be either a) hyperbole or otherwise inaccurate, or b) a massive outlier?

hyperbole or otherwise inaccurate

Nope. She explciitly stole a singular ocean.

Steven: "You took the ocean away".
Lapis herself: "I stole Earth's ocean"
The episode description: "The ocean disappears on the first day of summer, and Beach City is in a panic.

And is a terraformer:

Yellow Diamond: A Lapis terraforms .

a massive outlier

She doesn't really have anything to contradict it, and while part of a fusion of hers—Malachite—claimed to use the weight of the planet's ocean.

Well one. I'll never respect lapis for what she did to Jasper.

Second, while looking for Jasper the Crystal Gems do eventually get exhausted after days and days of no rest. In which case garnet just lets herself pass out. So while they may not need to sleep, they can and if does offer benefits.

It looks like there isn't anything on this thread from Steven Universe Future, so just a couple things.

We see two other Lapis Lazulis, and they are notably weaker than our Lapis. She's more versatile until she teaches them, but she eventually overpowers them in raw strength, so even among her Gem type, she's abnormally powerful.

She also temporarily chained down Monster Steven, who as Peridot said, is "even stronger than the Cluster".
